Raquel Loio is a Portuguese philosopher, writer, and visual artist whose work explores the depths of human consciousness and the subtle boundary between waking life and dreams. She holds a PhD in Philosophy, with a specialization in the relationship between wakefulness and dreaming, as well as a Master’s degree in Medical Anthropology and a background in Nursing.
Her interdisciplinary path informs a body of work that brings together philosophical inquiry, literary expression, and visual art. Deeply influenced by phenomenology and existential thought, her writing often unfolds in a reflective, stream-of-consciousness style, examining themes such as identity, perception, time, and the embodied nature of experience.
As an author, she has published works of philosophical fiction that invite readers into introspective and symbolic landscapes, where inner life and imagination intertwine. Alongside her literary practice, she creates visual art that echoes her meditative and philosophical concerns.
Raquel Loio’s work stands at the intersection of thought and feeling, offering a contemplative exploration of what it means to be conscious, human, and awake—both in the world and within oneself.
