Layla and Maxim **tissues needed**

So you know that book two Adoration set us up for this book. Revelation is oh so good. So we find out some interesting information about Layla and Liberty. Now this could potentially ruin her friendship or bring them closer. We also learn that Layla has some demons in her closet that are crippling to her. It is sad what she goes through daily. I mean I have no idea how she has managed to go through her life daily. It is like she is there physically going through the motions and not there but there mentally. She has a lot on her shoulders but she manages. Then we have her grandparents. Now I got a thing or two to say about them. Gah they irritate me. So lets meet Maxim, who happens to be Alexanders brother and was in the military. But when he gets the first look at her he gets a complete different feeling. One of longing and more. He knows that she is not temporary but forever. Unfortunately Layla is not making it easy. Only because she does not want to burden whoever she is with, with her problems. That is one thing she wants to handle on her own. Maxim is not going to give up. He is going to find out what she is hiding. Let me just say that this book is full of revelations. I mean it is one thing after another. There were many places where I cried so be prepared. What another great book to add to this series.

This is a slow burn kind of romance. Layla was born into a rich family, but her mother was not married to her father and therefore she is unwanted by the family.Maxim is devastatingly handsome.

Layla and Maxim are a match made in heaven, with all the lies and secrets involving Layla Maxim knows treasure when he sees her. She is so broken, and so real. Maxim is the perfect man to help her reach her potential, and love her.

Definitely a page turner with all of the emotions.Eva Winners has penned another five-star book with so many layers to it.

It was really outstanding and intense story I really loved it. There is so much love and emotions I fell it was heart wrenching.
Definitely recommend it.

I loved the book Adoration, so I immediately downloaded Revelation when I was done with it. Revelation is part of the interconnected series, but all are stand alones. With this book though, it didn’t feel like a whole story. It basically takes place during the same time as Adoration, and then finishes in its own timeline. It felt very choppy and rushed during the shared timeline moments. Like it was just filling in side story gaps of the other book.

I did like the romance between Maxim and Layla. It started as an instant attraction with Maxim falling first and hard. I love a protective and adoring MMC and Maxim was that for her. Though it was kind of annoying that Layla kept fighting him over her feelings, but Maxim knew they were going to be end game.

The audiobook is duet narrated by Shane East and Zara Hampton-Brown. These two are pared together a lot, and their chemistry always shines through in their performances ❤️ Overall, I did enjoy this book. Though to really get the story, I feel like you need to check out Adoration first to fully appreciate it ❤️

Layla's Revelation

This book had me shook. We get a better look at Layla and find that not everything is as it seems. I love her and Maxim together. They bring out in each other what the other lacks. There was quite a bit of revelations by the end of this book.

another great book

Another great book in the series. Although I’m almost certain in the first book they said Layla was a good cook… it’s kind of strange how every book none of the women can cook… other than that I like the story!

I have to admit that this one was a little choppy in the beginning getting the story going, but after a little while it really picks up and is a very good book! Layla was born into a rich family, but her mother was not married to her father and therefore she is unwanted by the family. Kept outside of their reach for much of her life, a tragic accident takes her mother and boyfriend and Layla is blamed for their deaths. Leaving her fending for herself in the walls of the family that never wanted her.

Now she’s grown up and someone has been blackmailing her about the truth behind that car accident that took their lives and Layla is at her wit’s end with being the unwanted family member and never being able to find a family of her own. Until she’s asked to babysit for her best friend Liberty who is getting married and the groom’s brother is going to stay with her as well.

Maxim is devastatingly handsome and there’s a pull between him and Layla that neither of them can keep ignoring. But they do! This is a slow burn kind of romance where all the goods come at the end - but turned out alright by me because their build up was a really good one anyway.

A great story and a really hot ending that I wasn’t quite expecting but welcomed all the same. This is the third book in this series and it didn’t disappoint at all! Layla is feisty and maxim has a firm hand that is sure to show her who’s the boss and help her keep in line as well as feel as loved as she’s always wanted.

Layla has had a lousy life. Her mother fell pregnant to a man that abandoned her but who’s parents insisted on seeing her. Throughout her childhood, they told her how she was unwanted. When she was in a car accident at 16, her boyfriend died instantly as did her mother which meant that she had to go and live with her ‘loving’ grandparents.
She studied non-profit management at university in the US, where she had located her sister, Liberty. They became fast friends but Layla never could bring herself to tell her of their relationship.
After Liberty married Alexandar she knew everything would be different, but his sexy and irresistible brother Maxim would become one of the main reasons for the differences, in unexpected and surprising ways…
This was a thoroughly enjoyable and intriguing read. Initially there’s a lot of information to digest, but once things settled down and focuses on Layla’s life, be it work or play, you see just how much she has suffered and how cruel relationships can be. Her relationship with Maxim however is scorching whether a look, a kiss or much, much more. Brilliant.

Layla's whole life has been based on a lie. Her grandparents are abusive, her mother dead, and the horrible accident she caused when she was sixteen has left her physically and psychologically scarred. Blackmail just adds another layer to it all. Maxim has wanted her since he saw her, and when he finds the opportunity to spend the night with her, he will do whatever it take to make her his.
Eva Winners has penned another five-star book with so many layers to it. Layla holds people at arms length for her own sanity, and only those closest to her get through her defenses. She is so broken, and so real. Maxim is the perfect man to help her reach her potential, and love her. Their HEA is sweet and not over the top. This is the third in the Love Isn't What It Seems series, and it can be read as a standalone. However, like most series, it is so much better read as a set. Five solid stars.

I loved this book. I really like the author’s style of writing, which is engaging, easy to read while still having depth and taking readers on an emotional journey.
Layla is one of those characters that captivates, even if you don’t always like her and her actions in the earlier books. She seems beautifully put together and almost hard so it’s lovey to see her softer and more vulnerable core in this book.
Maxim is the perfect foil for Layla and even though he has his own issues to work through they fit each other perfectly.
It’s interesting to see how the books intertwine and connect without being repetitive, which is something this author does really well to keep her readers engaged and interested. It is possible to read each book on its own but in my opinion some of the intricacies are lost if you haven’t read the whole series.
I’m already excited to see what book 4 in the series has to offer.

If you have read book two of the series, Adoration, you know that Layla and Liberty are more than just friends. In this third book of the series, Revelation the reader understands what drives Layla to act to way she does. And of course, nothing is what it seems. The sparks that fly between her and Maxim, Alexander’s brother, are ignited and the chemistry is undeniable. However, Layla doesn't believe she deserve happiness. Maxim is a ex-military who is fighting his own demons. At the first moment he sees Layla, he wants her. And what Maxim wants, he gets it. Would his demands to control scare Layla? What will happen when Maxim discover her secrets?
Like always, Eva Winners has wrote an another 5+ star romance, filled with lots of drama, angst, steamy hot scenes and unexpected twists.

I read Revelation isn’t what it seems without reading the previous books in the series. Even though this is a standalone story, I think it would have been better to read the previous books first and get to know the back story of all the characters. I actually really liked them in this book and the way they all connected with the storyline made it especially good.
Layla and Maxim are awesome leads and fit well together. I felt so sorry for Layla for what she has been through and I just wanted to give her a big hug. Luckily Maxim made her feel better. Lucky girl :)
Eva winners is such an incredibly gifted author and I hope many readers will enjoy her work

Goodness!!
Trust me! You don't want to miss this amazing sexy book ⚡🔥
It's a delightful read, I read a few share of deep romances but I hate when they purely potrey lust and sex... This is different, it's got a story that fills your heart with emotions.
This books had me hooked from very first line, I enjoyed it .. it's spicy 🔥 in a good way,the romance didn't made me uncomfortable, it was nice to read such demanding sex and filled all the boxes of respect in a right way.
This was my first book of Eva winners but definitely not the last.

Definitely recommend, if you like a loving but demanding & strong hero, a vulnerable but sassy ice queen heroine, family values and emotions .

⚠️ SPOILER WARNING ⚠️

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5 – almost perfect, but a few small things bugged me)
Tone: Emotional, protective MMC + redeemed FMC + a lot of secrets and growth

💭 My Thoughts:
• Okay, this one really topped the first two. The series felt a bit repetitive before, but this book brought real depth and emotion.
• I honestly didn’t like FMC in the first two — she came off selfish and mean — but here, we finally see why. She’s been emotionally abused and manipulated for years, especially by her mom.
• She’s softer, more vulnerable, and we finally get to understand her pain.

🖤 FMC’s Backstory & Struggles:
• So, FMC was getting blackmailed for years. She had to drop off money secretly, and later finds out it was her own mother behind it.
• Honestly, that whole part confused me a bit. Like, she never once stayed behind to see who was taking the money? It didn’t seem that complicated. That’s the only part that didn’t click for me.
• But once MMC found out, he really helped her out. He stood by her and handled it so well.

❤️ MMC & FMC Relationship:
• I really liked their dynamic. MMC was calm, honest (most of the time 😅), and protective.
• He communicated openly — told her everything he found out, didn’t hide things.
• Except for that masquerade scene.
• They met at a club where people bid on partners for the night.
• He knew it was her, bid on her, and they slept together.
• She didn’t know it was him — she thought it was a stranger.
• Later, when she found out, she was really hurt. They did talk it out.

👩‍👧 Family & Friendship:
• Loved the half-sister plot twist! FMC finding her sister, becoming friends first, and only later revealing the truth was so emotional.
• Their relationship after the reveal felt genuine and sweet.
• MMC’s bond with his best friend was another highlight — that brotherhood energy balanced all the drama.

💫 Favorite Moments:
• MMC protecting her from her manipulative grandparents — chef’s kiss.
• The ending scene where they recreate their first meeting (“Who’s there?” → “I’m your brother-in-law.”) and then he proposes right there. So simple but meaningful.

Revelation was soooo good! I loved this audiobook. This author never misses for me, and I could not stop listening to this angsty billionaire romance!

Both Layla and Maxim were both in such dark places, which was incredibly unexpected for me after listening to Adoration (the second book in the series). It shows that you never know exactly what a character has going on.

Maxim has emotional scars from his time in the military, and Layla hasn’t recovered from a car accident where she was the lone survivor. Layla was left to be raised by her grandparents, who were cruel and resentful. Both of these characters struggled with feeling worthy and Layla longed for a place where she feels like she belongs. When Layla and Maxim meet, they immediately feel a connection. However, Layla’s got so many secrets, and her family is incredibly complicated.

I also wanted to highlight the spice in this one because these two are scorching hot! There is also a spicy club with a spicy auction that leads to an even spicier encounter! This author knows how to bring the heat!

While eyeball reading this book would still be amazing, the audio was such an elevated experience! It had me an emotional mess, and amplified the angst! I’m honestly at the point where I will automatically listen if I see Shane East and Zara Hampton-Brown narrating together especially in duet like this book! They were the perfect choices for Layla and Maxim. Fantastic performances!

Revelation is the third book in the Love Isn't What It Seems series, and I can’t wait to listen to the next book in the series. It’s called Affection, and it is about Maxim’s business partner, Daniel.

5+++This has been a great series with each book delving into a different set of character's telling their story. This is Layla and Maxim's story which did not disappoint. I loved Maxim's character when he was in his brother and Liberty's book. I found that this story took a deep dive into his backstory which was heartbreaking but felt very "real". I immediately connected with his character and loved that he and Layla had such a sizzling love story but also that he found light for a woman who had been living in the darkness that has been orchestrated by the people that were suppose to love and protect her.

Layla's character has been fraught with many character descriptions in prior novels; everything from a vindictive ex-gf to a devoted gf/half sister to Liberty. This novel takes her character and exposes her horrible childhood, her history and guilt associated with the death of her mother and high school bf. She is truly a victim of her grandparents and her mother who have turned her life into an "out of control train wreck" with their lies and manipulations. I loved that Ms. Winners took enough time in this book to explain her backstory but also took the adequate time to develop a relationship with Maxim. With Maxim and Daniel's help Layla's life goes from a downward spiral to seeking the redemption she craves when the truth is finally exposed.

This book is a slow-burn love story between two people with more than enough baggage, suspense, twists and turns and revelations that will surprise any reader. What the reader is led to believe is clearly not how this book ends. Some authors can get bogged down with minutia or unnecessary dialogue when writing a book. Ms. Winners keeps her story, characters and plot on-point and focused throughout the book making it a very entertaining read.

Format: Audiobook - Duet narration by Shane East and Zara Hampton-Brown

Tropes: Billionaire, Found Family, Friends to Lovers

Thanks to Must Love Audio, East House Productions, and the author for this gifted audiobook - all opinions are my own

Layla and Maxim

This one starts a bit slow but there is not a wasted minute. I love the time taken in the beginning to really set the stage for this highly emotional story. My poor heart went through it when listening to this one. Layla has one of the most heartbreaking backstories and is the type of FMC that needs an alpha protector, and she found the perfect candidate in Maxim. The chemistry between these two was palpable and the tension was heavy due to the slow burn feel on the romance side. The revealing of secrets was well done and had me riveted, especially toward the end. I can’t wait to listen to the last book in this series.

I have absolutely no notes when it comes to the audio production. These two narrators, especially together, are a dream to listen to. I will never skip an audiobook by either of them but I flat out run for any book they perform together!

OH MY EVER LOVIN' HELL! Revelation was a fantastic story that took me through the emotional paces. Layla's life has been no picnic because of her horrible family who truly despised a child, and it only got worse as she grew up. She was in a bad accident that her grandparents blamed her for (they were despicable), and frankly, Layla doesn't believe she's good enough for anyone. Maxim is her best friend's brother-in-law, and the moment he sees her, he needs to make her his but she keeps shutting him down. However, he's an in it to win it type of dude so he's not letting that stop him, as he was super sexy, and the sparks they produced were insane so it was only a matter of time before they set the sheets on FIRE! So there's heat, angst for days, good & bad cast of supporting characters and some of them provided some big twists that had me dropping f-bombs. I was on the edge of my seat & didn't move until I devoured this story as Eva Winners is an amazing author & highly addictive to boot so it's time for you to get to one clicking! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This is the third book in this awesome series and is Layla and Maxim’s story. Layla is the black sheep in her family and is mentally and physically scarred from a tragic accident, and she is merely drifting through life but not living it and if anyone deserves someone to love her it is her. When Layla is babysitting for her best friend who is getting married, she meets the grooms brother Maxim, who is tough and controlling. These two continually cross paths, and the chemistry is intense and undeniable. This is a well written story which is a slow burn, and is filled with emotions, heartbreak, and love, which leads to a sweet and entertaining addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

This was my first EW read and it was quite the story. Layla, and interesting character who has a alot of past issues, more of the family baggage. She hasn't really grown up in a nice home. While she is very privileged, it definitely was not a healthy environment, especially after the tragedy that happens. Finally grown up to be out of that mess, she is somewhat finally living for herself. Meeting Maxim, definitely something she was not expecting.

I enjoyed the story, at first, there were so many characters to keep straight, but I finally got it. I may have to go back and read their stories at some point. Layla and Maxim's chemistry was HOT. There were surprises and very intense moments. All in all, it was an enjoyable read for me.

Here's the thing, I liked the book, i loved Maxim and Layla (though Layla could have grown a backbone way before). The premise was nice, and honestly it was a lovely listen. Especially since Shane and Zara are my favourite duo and they were amazing together.

Now, here's the thing. while i did love the book, it was nice, but I was hoping for something more? Though that twist was amazing! And I loved the BDSM elements, especially since this time Eva didn't do fade to black here or just ignore it (like she did in her recent books), so I know she can do it, so please add more of that in the new books!

Overall it was a nice book, and I loved learning more about Maxim and Layla, and I need Daniel's book now, because we'll finally go back to mafia?

Layla has fought her past, her very existence for most of her life. She never felt a sense of belonging, never felt an intense love. Disappointment and despair were her companions. Until she meets the successful and handsome Maxim. He's confident, respected, and liked by everyone. But Layla only gives him the cold shoulder. But it seems they're drawn to each other. Maxim now focused on making Layla's life a bit more comfortable. And finding out that they have a common enemy gives them an opportunity to expand on the possibility of something more.

Layla has had a difficult life. Starting with her upbringing. She never felt loved or valued and a horrible accident befell her. A few years later she meets Maksim and his brother. The story is quite involved. But Maksim evokes strong feelings in her. Though it takes them some time to get to know one another in the end Maksim is the man who helps her deal with the issues in her life. Maksim is enamored with Layla and he works hard to help her feel valued. Interesting story line and great love story!

Layla and Maxim — Yum!

In this next installment of Eva Winners Love Isn’t What It Seems series, we get the story of Layla, a bad girl from a previous book and the keeper of a horrendous secret from her past and Maxim, a hero with secret demons of his own. With her usual flair, Winners weaves a story of reluctant hearts, discovered passions and ultimate redemption. She never fails to deliver well defined characters, a compelling plot and a more than satisfying HEA. I just love this author and what she can do with words.

This is another amazing read in the Love Isn’t What It seems series. Layla hasn’t had an easy life. Her mother and boyfriend died in a car accident that she survived when she was sixteen. She then moved in with her grandparents who were verbally abusive. And had Layla believing that she had no self worth. When Maxim meets Layla at his brothers wedding to her sister there is a strong attraction. Even though she pushes him away he’s not willing to give up on her that easy. Definitely a page turner with all of the emotions.
