Read these steamy romantic suspense books in order for optimum pleasure...
Writing has always been a big part of my life. Since I was a child I've known exactly where my passion lay. No matter what's gone on in my life writing has been my touchstone. After all, we all need a place to escape to. Reading is my idea of heaven. There's nothing I like more than to switch everything off, close the bedroom door, and curl up with a good book. I have a feeling that's something all at Goodreads can identify with.
Thanks for taking the time with me today. Now do something for yourself, go and curl up in your own reading heaven.
I wasn't sure what to expect from this story, the characters being named after gods, but so far it's been a good read. I am looking forward to the next book to see where it goes from here.
To start , I gave this book 4 stars because it really started off as an interesting story and the writer created two likeable characters, Tess and Danny. The narrative was interesting with a good description of setting and good dialogue.Maybe too much emphasis on the sex scenes for me but the initial description did indicate it was steamy and it was. But then Tess meets her father and everything changes with a very confusing subplot with secret super spies, code names and a lot more characters. Tess’s relationship with Danny/ Daire also changes. The ending of the book basically just stops. To be continued , I presume in the second book. It would have been nice if a “to be continued “ had been written at the end. I went searching to see if there was a second book and there is, To Die for Honor.

“so against the “rules” that it ignited a need to know more. After rifling through the closet”
Stick to one goal. Seems simple. I didn't bargain on a mellow grease monkey being such a distraction. Giving in was supposed to be a one-night affair. Yet, somehow, he becomes my roommate, my friend with benefits... my rock.

Well where do I start? This is a book of two half's, the initial half of the book is about Tess and Danny and is lovely, intriguing and lots of sex! Then the second half of the book and it's all change. Tess meets her dad and it's all secrets and spies and confusing but interesting sub plots. It took me a while to understand the second half but it did have me hooked to see where it would go. I've not read any of this authors books before and boy can she write a good tale. Yes I was confused for quite a while with the second half of the book but it got it's claws into me and drew me in. So lots of suspense and surprises but actually after finishing the book just as satisfying as the first half of the book. I would certainly look out for other books by this author. I was given a copy of this book by Voracious readers only for an honest review. I always give an honest review.
Mysterious, Romantic Suspense! I should have known. I have read and enjoyed several of Scarlett Finn's books, so when I got hold off this one, I was excited to start a new series, no waiting time LOL. To die for the Truth is the first in series. The start made me sad and as I continued reading, I assumed I knew where the plot was going. "Insert crazy Head shake emoji here." Boy was I wrong! Twisty Ms. Finn is verry, Twisty. Expect the unexpected will be my new moto for the rest of the series and yes, I will be reading them, since I am hooked. I need to know what will happen next. Be warned if you expect all the answers and the resolution of all conflict you will be disappointed. So much more to still come.
This is the first book I’ve put down and can’t finish. The “relationship” in this book is trashy and degrading. Tess has zero self respect and is just cringy. Are we suppose to like Danny? The degrading guy who lives in a trailer and demands sex, food, and cleaning in exchange for a place to sleep. He shows zero interest in helping her with her goal. All he cares about his getting laid. Tess is constantly telling him “No” to sex, but Danny will just simply remind her “You just used my soap”, and Tess will realize she owes him. The quality part where Tess realizes she isn’t alone because Danny would notice she was missing if he wasn’t getting a bj. Wow, just a quality romance here (sarcasm). 😐
What a fantastic find this book was! Considering how large my TBR list is I simply couldnt put this book down and certainly wasn't at all disappointed in the adventures I was reading. Seeing how this is obviously a continued story I am so dying to see how things will span out. Loved the central characters of Danny and Tess and the complexity of their relationship. Great balance of romance, mystery and intrigue and by the looks of the future…. action in a variety of ways.
A new author I'm more than happy to put on my list of more reading.

Tess and her mum have been on the run for as long as she can remember trusting nobody, but when she finds herself suddenly alone she turns to a man she had just met for comfort. A man who is easy going and with simple needs, a place to sleep, beer, weed and sex. Only intending to stay for a short while until she has sorted out herself she discovers a mystery involving her mum,a discovery which will blow her mind and everything she believes in! Full of intrigue and mystery the story will keep you guessing and leave you with more questions than answers, but it will keep you enthralled to discover more
I love Scarlett Finn’s books!! Most of them , but this one was a dud . The FMC is soooo dumb ! She was written so dense and stupid everything she did was a contradiction. She is paranoid, doesn’t want to trust anyone and yet the first two people she meets she tells everything ! The letters, the I plan … and gets seduced into danger. And she doesn’t get any better . She stays stuck on stupid the entire book !! it ruined the story. I enjoy all the suspense and action in all her books, but this idiot ruined it .
I got this book for free from Stuff Your Kindle Day… it is literally the worst thing I have ever read in my life. Thank god I didn’t pay for it. My toxic trait is I can’t give up on a book no matter how terrible it is… and let me tell ya’ll, this book broke that habit of mine. I made it to 53% and I literally cannot take another second of it. The premise of the book sounds cool, but it is so poorly written and literally laughable when it’s supposed to be suspenseful.
If you enjoy intrigue and suspense, this series is for you! Filled with twists and turns, this romantic mystery keeps you on the edge of your seat! Tess and her mother have lived their life running from what Tess only knows as the unknown until one fateful night, everything changes. Now Tess is determined to find out why. Lots of suspense, steamy, sexy scenes and more OMG moments than I could count. A must read!
I had been in a serious book funk as of late but this title was JUST the one to get me pulled out of it.
This page-turner kept me on my toes the whole time and the questions I had while reading is what had me turning pages. The twist that Scarlett had in this book was MIND BLOWING and was not expecting it AT ALL!!
Overall this is a GREAT read and I can't wait to finish the whole series!!
Tying a comparison between mythological people and a modern protection framework was a lot of hard work for the author, and I am sure it was difficult to keep it straight. There were moments when I was just as confused as the FMC, so the author did her job well. But it really was a well constructed story. I will probably only read it once, so it gets 4 stars. If I could see reading it over and over, it gets 5.
There’s so much to love about this book, not least the irresistible chemistry between the characters, but the gripping storyline, filled with secrets, heartache, and danger, is fantastic. I can’t wait to see what happens in this gritty and sexy suspense next! I highly recommend it.
I really have no idea what this book was about. I swear i almost understood the storyline until i get to 50ish%... Then i was truly and frustratingly lost. The Zs and the Hs and the Cs all started coming up and i thought... Lets get the he** out of dodge and let this book RIP.
I didn’t have many expectations starting this book, it was a little confusing in the beginning but it kept my interest because I, like Tess, wanted to find out the truth. There was some unexpected surprises that really got the story going! I didn’t realize it was a series but now I’m exited to read more.
About halfway in this book was starting to feel too long, but I held on to find out the mystery that had taken so long to build up. And..it’s not the complete story - no, that’s a whole other book (or two or more). Right now, I don’t have the motivation to read more. Maybe if it wasn’t so drawn out.
This book is packed with mystery, drama and suspense. I was glued to my Kindle and couldn’t stop reading! The plot is full of twists and turns. It’s very entertaining and romantic with plenty of steam. I really enjoyed it. *this honest review is based on a complimentary copy via BookSirens*
Wow Tess is such a strong woman. I loved each turn of the page with its twists and turns throughout the pages. The characters are engaging and entertaining. I look forward to the next book in the series.
I received a copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
I was not expecting the huge twist in the middle of this book. I love when a book can surprise me like that. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
Side note: I received a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review
I like the book but found myself confused and could not determine where the author was going with the story. The characters and the rolls they portray was confusing and disconnected. The lovemaking is intense and disconnected and impossible to image as real.
The book starts out great and the suspense is really good but after some time it gets a bit confusing with all the code names and all but the ending of the 1st book is so good. Can't wait to read more!!!
This is a great read, full of twists and turns. I was never sure who Tess could trust other than herself. There are so many secrets to unravel, truths to be learned. I didn't want to put the book down.
I enjoyed this book however, I was a little confused of the situation at hand at first but I am glad it explained it in more detail as the book got further into the story line.
To die for truth was a great read. Scarlett wrote this well. Although 3rd pov isn't my favourite read. This was good. Tess is on a mission to find some truth, her mother died suddenly and tragically. Tess was left all a lone in this world. She met this guy and his name was Danny. They both were on a mission This was full of clues after clues the steamy scenes were off the charts. Perhaps some secrets should stay buried. Can't wait for the next book to this. Highly recommend this book #kbsbloggingandreviews
This book started really good. I was enjoying the plot but then it had that big plot twist and after that I was really confused everything happened so quick.
