It's always a true bonus when a series is introduced and it includes the writing of some of your favourite authors.
This introductory book to The Wishing Tree Series is exactly that, and I devoured it in one sitting at 5 am this morning, as I was unable to sleep.
A small, some may say, sleepy town, with some extremely interesting inhabitants, and one or two soon to be ones too, is home to a tree that those who live there say is magical.
A wishing tree.
Each of the authors has contributed to the building of the series with a taster, and introduction to the characters with stories of their own, soon to be blossoming into full-blown novels.
From the longstanding residents to those who might just be coming back home, to newcomers, there is something to interest everyone.
I am absolutely 100% excited about the following books! Each of the characters that have been focussed on has stories to tell. Stories that I want to read.

A new series came to town today! It is called The Wishing Tree Series. I had the awesome opportunity to read the prequel and I will be reading and reviewing the first six books in the series, so start tuned! When I read to the end of the prequel, I noticed there are twelve books listed to be released by 8 authors. Some of the authors are favorites of mine and I can’t wait for these books to release! Let me tell you these are really great authors and I’m sure you may follow some of them on social media and read their books. I do!

I really want to pique your interest so I am going to tell you who all the wonderful authors are. They are Amanda Prowse, Kay Bratt, Tammy L. Grace, Barbara Hinske, Camille DiMaio, Ashley Farley, Jessie Newton, Tonya Kappes. Oh! You know what? The  prequel is free to download!! You can’t go wrong with that. The prequel gives you the first chapter of the first six books. I don’t know about you but, I can’t turn down free especially books by these ladies!

I enjoyed every single chapter in the prequel and it is just enough to make you want to read the books. I’m already hooked and I’m dying to read the them. They won’t all come out at the same time so there will probably be a little wait between books. I don’t know about you but, if I get a good series, I want to binge read until I’m done. I think I’m going to have to use a little self control.

The Wishing Tree is in a small town that draws a lot of tourists every year. The tree is believed to grant wishes or at least bring them about. If you have a wish, you write it out on a piece of paper and tie it to a branch. There have been many wishes over the years that have been answered. I am so excited to jump in and read these books. The characters are flawed and wonderful at the same time. Just like we all are.

The prequel (book 1) will be ready to download on February 2, 2022 and book 2 on March 2, 2022. It looks like they will be released a week apart from there on out until the series concludes. I hope you are as excited as I am to dig into this new series, The Wishing Tree. I just know it is going to be wonderful. Go download your copy of the FREE prequel now!

Not really a “Book”

This wasn’t really a book. It was more of a complication of previews from all the books in the series. Each chapter was a different book with a sneak peek. I thought it was Book 1 in the series but it really isn’t. I’ve heard so much about the series and how great it is but this first book was a let down. Onto book 2. Hopefully it’ll be an actual story.

What a complete delight, and at the same time so frustrating. It's like someone have you a tiny sip of your favourite drink, or a small forkful of a delicious meal, and made you wait for the rest!

The Wishing Tree series brings together some of the best contemporary writers. This, the first book, is just a taster for the remaining books in the series, and to whet your appetite for those to come - and it succeeds admirably. The series is set around a village in Nevada called Linden Falls, and at the heart of the village is a beautiful old Linden Tree which has become known as The Wishing Tree. People come from far and wide, to join locals in tying their wishes to its lower branches. However the tree, and it's custodian Neva, seem to know the very best way to deliver the wishes. Neva and the tree are the common theme throughout the series, although I believe other residents and shops pop up in various stories too - like the bookshop in the village. Each chapter is a precursor to a different book in the series.

I have had the great privilege of reading book 2 by the fabulous Amanda Prowse, and I can tell you that we are in for a real treat. I can't wait to read the rest.

The first book is a prequel to the series and gives the background of the town and some of the major characters. The Linden tree in the town square of Linden Falls, Vermont is thought to be at least 150 years old. The folklore about the tree granting wishes has been passed down from one generation to the next. Neva, the oldest person in town and the owner of the B&B is considered to be the curator of wishes. She protects the small papers that people have written their wishes on and brings them to her house if there is a storm. She is a firm believer that the tree grants wishes - not by magic but making sure the right people find and grant the wishes of others - often with her help.

This was not my idea on how to read a book, or get to know an author. The stories were all very short and not really intriguing enough to entice me to the next book. It was more like reading long blurbs on the back of a bunch of books, and I think by the time I get to the next book in the Series, I would have forgotten what happened in the first one.

I was so grateful to read this prequel to this great series with some of my favorite authors! This series takes place in a quaint town with a legendary tree in the middle of it called the Wishing Tree. Some people think it's a bunch of nonsense, while others have covered the tree with different pieces of paper full of wishes begging to come true. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

The Wishing Tree is book one in The Wishing Tree series by various authors. In Linden Falls, Vermont is that picturesque, idyllic small town. Within the charming street of a community of people who care about each other and in the center of town is the famous Wishing Tree. It is an old beautiful tree with wishes tied to the branches. From simple wishes and dreams to heartbreaking and devastating hopes. As tourists flock to town and join the locals to hang ribbons to the branches of the tree. Some believe in the magic of the Wishing Tree while others believe it is the hooky gimmick to bring in tourists. If it’s magic or not, there have been beautiful stories of love, forgiveness and happily ever after that brings people to the tree and taking a chance to hang a wish.
Book one of The Wishing Tree series is an introduction to the rest of the series. With a wonderful prologue which introduces Neva Cabot, one of the oldest residents and leads into a brief introduction to the first six books of the series. I read a lot of reviews that were upset that this book is not a full novel itself. However, I enjoyed the brief introduction into the premise of the series and the first six books. As an added bonus, this book is a free eBook that if you are interested in the series, this is a great way to give a highlight of what to expect and the feel for the series. I have the next six books in the series and will be reviewing them soon. If you are curious about Linden Falls and their Wishing Tree, I recommend checking out The Wishing Tree.

The Wishing Tree is available in paperback and eBook

And so, "the tree was a place where the best of humanity revealed itself, and that indeed, was its power" (page 7). This prequeal to The Wishing Tree Series has me smitten! I have the first six books preordered (a little confusion with the dates and way they are set to be released), and I cannot wait!

Meeting Neva has set the tone for me, and tho "there are no tooth fairies or leprechauns...hopefulness, patience and kindness" will play a starring role in each story, I am certain (p 7)! The "joie de vivre" of Linden Falls, Vermont, has me very excited to make some new friends in this series, which I came to find via Camille Di Maio, whose books I adore.

More than 25 years ago, I was introduced to Jan Karon and The Mitford Series by my cousin, and fell in love with the respite and joy each of the stories brought. As well, I love the familiarity in many of Adriana Triginani's books, along with Elin Hilderbrand's work. There is a comfort in holding on to characters and places, making connections and developing a history of sorts.

With The Wishing Tree Series, it will be interesting to see how this group of writers come together to flesh out their stories in a uniquely cohesive collaboration. I cannot wait for the release of Amanda Prowse's I WISH, Book 2 in the series on March 2, 2022!!

The Wishing Tree is an excellent idea for a prequel for a series by different authors. Each short story is a small excerpt from each book of the series. If you like the spite you get from each story, it makes you look for the book in the series.
Yes, in the future, I might pick the books, but because I have a lot of books on both my physical and digital shelf, I need and want to read a couple of books, and then I might pick those books from The Wishing Tree series.
Some chapters intrigued me more than others, but once I decide to read the complementary books of the series, I will see which one I will pick.
Something else is curious for me how the stories will connect the different characters but it is something we will find together once I decide to read the installments of The Wishing Tree series.

A short prologue sets up the theme of the story about a small New England town with a linden tree in the town square where locals and visitors have a tradition of writing down their wishes & dreams on a piece of paper & tying them to the branches of the tree. Following the prologue is a sample of a chapter from each of the first seven novellas in the series, each written by a different author, but all take place in the same small town, with some of the characters from different stories interacting with each other.

As a collaborative series among a group of women's fiction writers, it sounds like a great idea, with each author adding her own style of writing to each intertwined story. This prologue will whet your appetite for the rest of the series, which depicts the stories of various characters in a small town; sharing their hopes & dreams & struggles, & how the town's linden tree plays a part in those lives. I'm excited to read the rest of the series!

The Wishing Tree

An exciting new series from several best-selling authors that I'm familiar with their books and a couple I'm looking forward to know. This prequel tells you about the small, quaint town in Vermont, introduction of some of its residences and many visitors, and the beautiful Linden tree in the center of town that is well-known as the Wishing Tree where residents and visitors write their wishes on paper and tie to the tree with string. In this prequel the first chapter from several authors give you the feels for what is to come and I already have a few favorites. I am happy that several stories flow with the town's characters throughout the stories.

This is an inspirational collection of stories by multiple authors. Each novella centers around the town's linden tree located in the middle of the town square. Everyone calls it The Wishing Tree. Can the magic of the tree truly grant wishes? There are those that swear it can and some who feel they are not as lucky. Maybe it just wasn't the perfect time for their wish to be granted. There is still hope for the future. I have already pre-ordered several of the books because I was so caught up the stories that I just have to know how they end. The difficult part will be to wait until they are automatically delivered to my Kindle. Sigh!

What a terrific series this is going to be. Each of these marvelous authors has penned the first chapter of their book. We meet Neva, “an intricate part of the town’s landscape”. In these few chapters they introduce us to a cast of characters in a wonderful small town in Vermont. I can’t wait for each full book to come out to see how the lives of these hurting people are woven together. I’ve read books by each of these authors, so look forward to their collaboration.

A compelling glimpse into what promises to be a sweet series of books set in the Vermont town of Linden Falls. Eight best-selling authors have come together to write separate stories all centered around the wishing tree found in the square of this small town. This first novella gives us glimpse into what is to come, and I can’t wait to dive into it.

Wow! What a great idea. This book was just what I needed with the news as it is today. There is romance, humor, wonderful characters and just a time to slow down and enjoy. The wishing tree was exactly what Elizabeth Guidry needed even if she didn’t know it. Who wouldn’t fall in love with Mark and Cameron. I so glad there are more stories to come.
