Prison World #1

Hidden by the Convicts

Rate this book
How does a woman survive on a prison planet full of men?

Teagen escaped the abuse of the guards she’s been given to for ‘recreation.’ But on a planet where the only potable water is in the prison colony, she can’t go far. If the guards catch her, she won’t survive their wrath. She needs to find allies, decent men who will hide and protect her, but will the price they demand be too high?
Bowen, Harlis, and Gavin never expected to find a woman on a prison planet. They could turn her over to the guards in exchange for favors or keep her for themselves. It’s been years since any of them has known a woman’s touch, but if the guards discover they’re hiding Teagen, they’ll send Bowen to the one place he fears most while they torture Harlis and Gavin. Is one woman worth the punishment?

Falling for her protectors wasn’t part of Teagen’s plan, and when the guards retaliate against her men, Teagen has to make a choice… turn herself in or let them suffer.

There has to be a third option…

3.5 "I'll be their captive!!" Stars.

Teagen is a captive on the prison planet Narkos. She was set up and framed by her boss after he raped her, so nobody would believe her and she'd be shipped away. Teagen was then tortured and raped by the guards on the corrupt Narkos until she finally finds a way to escape, but there's nowhere to really run.

Gavin, Bowen, and Harlis are a unit on Narkos and one day fate puts a beautiful women in their path. They work good as a unit, even with little spats here and there. Bowen the serious leader, Gavin the laid back peacekeeper, and Harlis the cocky jokester. They all agree, after noticing signs of her trauma, that they will protect and keep Teagen safe, no strings attached.

This was a good series opener. Gave a good taste of what to expect in the corrupt wilds of Narkos, with the horrible manager and guards. Teagen was lucky to have found the unit she did. Each man was so different personality wise and yet so sexy in their own right. I loved watching their relationships blossom as they earned her trust and affections. I hope we get to see more of them as the series goes on.

I absolutely love Bowen, Harlis and Gavin. They find Teagen on their prison planet. She has escaped her guards . Now they must decide on whether to hide and protect her or turn her in. They don't want to be found hiding her as things will go bad for them. But can they really turn her over when things get hot and steamy. And what will happen in the future.
I could not put this book down it is amazing . Every page had my attention. The story is well thought out. The characters are perfect for each other and with enough steam to make you need a cold shower. I would recommend this book to everyone. Well worth reading I think you will also fall in love with the book. Can't wait to read Julie's next book .

This is a reverse harem book. Teagen escapes and hides from the prison guards on the prison planet she was sent to for there entertainment/abuse. The three convicts Bowen, Gavin and Harlis find Teagen and hide her away and keep her safe, but after a while she finds herself falling for each of them. But it is only a matter of time before she is found and sent back and they will do anything to get her back to where she belongs, with them. If you don't like reading or the mention about abuse/violence then this is not for you.

I love this story! It's a great prequel for the Prison World series while also being a nice standalone. It takes place on the other side of the prison compound and it has a different cast of main characters. A few characters from the first book of the series appear or are mentioned but no prior knowledge of them is required.

It's short, it's steamy, with great characters and character development. I love how protective the guys are, and the FMC is capable as well. Loved seeing her gain her confidence back. Highly recommended for lovers of RH!

Wonderful story! I love all of Julie’s stories on the prison worlds. The idea of multiple mates in a unit are awesome. I was a bit distressed about what Teagen went through when she first got to the planet, but I would be distressed for any woman who went through that. When she meets the three men in her unit, she was so scared. The men did their best to make her comfortable and feel safe and eventually they all won her over. When the guards found her again and took her away, the men put a plan in place that would get her back and protect them for the long term. Loved it, and talk about steamy oh my!

Part of the Prison World series but this can be read as a standalone. I’ve read a few in the series so far and get drawn in each time. This steamy reverse harem romance takes place on a prison planet full of dangerous convicts and where Women are very scarce so they pretty much live in danger at all times. The story as well as the characters are well developed. I look forward to reading more from this author.

2.5-3 ⭐️

Started out good, natural dialogue (mostly), interesting plot, seperate characters, and more than just soft porn.

But got boring after awhile, too slow, too much emotion and drama, and not enough story evolution for my tastes.
It’s a personal preference issue, not quality.

This was a delicious reverse harem set on a prison world. Each character was so uniquely different which made this book so enjoyable for me. I could really relate to Gavin and the angst he felt over the relationship. This book was so well written and unique!

Poor Holly has been through hell on the prison planet. Thankfully she hides in Gavin's greenhouse and suddenly their world shifts for the better.
Very depressing view of humanity's future but still very entertaining. I liked how Holly was able to reach Bowen, Harlis and Gavin and show then that life was worth living.
Great climax.

This story starts off in a dark place, but there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. I liked how Gavin, Bowen and Harlis all had very different personalities, and Teagen had different relationships with each of them. A great introduction to a bleak yet beautiful world.

I'm so tired of authors, but especially authors who are women adding r@pe to specifically only the female characters.

They say right in the beginning of the book that women are sent there with no care what happens to them. Only knowing of two who survived. And then saying shortly after that that women are specifically sent to the guards to be beaten and r@ped for the rest of their days. So if you're a man in this world and commit a crime you get sent to prison. If you're a woman and you commit a crime you either get sent to prison with them knowing you're going to be r@ped and beaten to death, or you get sent to the guards for their pleasure where you will be r@ped and beaten until you die. And it's disgusting. There is already so much r@pe in this world to girls and to women. Especially in prison, that goes undocumented. Literally every book I've started to read recently, has a woman having been r@ped or will be later on in the book. And it's just getting to be too much.

This is literally a prison world that is made up, you could have done so without the SA aspect. Violence, is one thing. But SA is something that will change you forever. You will never be the same person no matter how much you work to heal. You will never be the same.

I'm tired of people adding it for character development or shock value. And to not just add it to the FMC, but to state that this is how women are treated in your world in general, just does not sit well with me. I like to insert myself into the characters and into the world of the stories I read. I do not want to do that in a world where being a woman means you be subjected to this kind of violence.

If you are making up a world, you can make it up without having that type of violence put in the book.

This is obviously just my opinion. A lot of people liked this book from the reviews I can see. I'm just at the stage where I'm tired of seeing this type of violence towards women in books. I can tolerate it sometimes for the story, but I will avoid it pretty much every time if I can.

There is already too much violence like this in the real world, and I read to escape this reality. It's just not for me.

Teagan is on a prison planet that is populated only by men...she is meant to be some relief for the guards.
She manages to hide from the ones who will hurt her but with no chance to escape, she must hope for help from the convicts.
She will have to bargain in order to be hidden and protected by them... What will they ask from her?
Three of the convicts are surprised by Teagan's presence and they could trade her for luxuries or they could have her after not seeing a female for a long time.
If she was to be discovered by the guards and their parts in it revealed, they would be punished severely... Is it worth the risk?
She quickly and easily falls for the three and when they are set upon.. Will she help them or allow them to take the pain?

I thoroughly enjoyed this unique reverse harem romance that did have some triggers of past abuse.
The way these men look after her and treat her like she is the most precious creature is heart melting.
This book had love, sexual intimacy, torture and revenge... I thought that all the elements made a perfect plot.
I wasn't sure if I would like something set on another planet but the main characters were individual and soft towards their female.
A rare and emotional read which is endearing with a happy ending.

Can a Woman Survive on a Planet Full of Prisoners?

Narkos is a prison planet where some of the worst offenders are sent. Only one other planet is worse. A lot of the prisoners get sent there because they made someone angry higher up in The Company. The company basically owns everything and everyone in that part of space.

Gavin, Bowen and Harlis have formed a unit. They work together and live together protecting each other from the guards and other prisoners. They are charged with producing enough food for the prisoners that are on the other side of the planet working in the mines.

One day they find a female hiding in the greenhouse. Teagen was sent to the planet after her boss raped her and then framed her for stealing from the Company. She was there for the guards recreation. After a month of brutal abuse she escapes, but really has no where to run. The guys take her to their house and try and keep her safe. But the head guard doesn’t give up looking for her, even after they fake her death. Can they keep her safe without making the ultimate sacrifice?

This is book one of a new series. An interesting concept and well written.
I look forward to the next book!

Bowen, Gavin and Harlis have to balance their humanity and the need to adapt to a prison planet when they come across a woman hiding from the guards. Having been tortured by the guards, Teagen takes a chance by hiding near the unit she had previously seen yelling at the guards. The three men work well together, but become closer as they help hide Teagan and help her in her recovery. Each man shows his unique talents and thoughtfulness in the things they do not just to hide Teagan, but to make her feel comfortable in the process.
They don't want to take advantage of her, either by making her think she's obligated to be with any of them, or taking advantage of her acting in response to her trauma. But they are still eager to cater to any want or need of hers that they can. It's a bit of a slow burn, but kind of not all at once. Intense with high stakes, but very sweet at the same time.

Great Read!!

I enjoyed reading Hidden by the Convicts(Prison World Book 1)!!! All about Teegan a young girl is a prisoner reward for the guards & Bowen is sixty-three years old a prisoner in charge of all harvester machines & collecting all food on east side of prison, Harris is twenty-seven years old and is a Biologist who works in the labs making pesticides so the crops will grow free of bugs & fungus & Gavin is forty-three and a Horticulturist and he grows all the seeds that are planted to feed the east side of prison & the West side as well. Teegan escaped the guards and is hiding out in the greenhouse when the three guys find her. Read about Teegan & Bowen’s unit and see how things work with them. This is a page turner from start to finish, and the characters will entrance you from start to finish!! Tons of emotions including toe curling incidents!!! Definite Read!!!

Okay, I was confused for a moment by the numbering on some sites, until I figured out this is a prequel to the series. So call it book one or book zero, however you like. Either way, it can be read at any time without issue.

I have read this story from the original book one, before this prequel was published, and really enjoyed it. Now this story takes the reader back a bit and gives a little more groundwork, which is a fine thing. The story to be well written and easy to read with a well detailed, if rather grim and gritty, setting. It is a prison planet after all. Our characters are also well detailed with unique personalities and unique flaws. And along the way we get plenty of steam. Overall, an engaging and enjoyable story and a nice introduction to the series.

Highly recommended.

Just one word…Wow!

Julie K. Cohen has written a Reverse Harem Sci Fi Romance that creates a complex world of social-political corruption. A world where the people are convicted of crimes they didn’t commit or where extenuating circumstances are totally ignored to the point that there are no rights for true justice. This is a dark story with heavy emotional and physical abuses committed by corrupted officials and guards who control the lives placed in their hands by “The Company”. You will feel the fear, the helplessness, the desire for freedom, the need for someone to watch your back, the need to feel some self control of your life, the need to love and be loved by those you can trust to help keep you safe. All this you will experience as you experience the Prison World with Teagan, Bowen, Gavin, and Harlis. Read Hidden by the Convicts! Wow! Just Wow!

Teagen is trying to escape from the guards on the prison planet Narkos, who are abusing her and hides in the greenhouse and is discovered by three convicts, Gavin Harliss and Bowen. They vow to protect her and show her that they aren't like the guards even though they haven't seen a woman in years. They prove to her that they are worthy of her love and she comes to have feelings for all of them as they try to keep her safe from the guards relentless searches. The author paints the universe of the prison planet and the Corporation with broad brush stroke that give the reader a rich story that begs for many more sequels to come. Great characters and great worldbuilding. A really great read!

Teagen is on the run from abusive guards, but there is no way to escape the prison grounds without ending up dead. When Bowen, Harlis and Gavin find her in a greenhouse, they decide to help her, but it's been years since they've been around a woman. Is she worth the risk of punishment?

This book, which can be read as a standalone, surprised me in a good way. I enjoyed the connections between Teagen and the men, but also between the men themselves (no mm, just bromances). Bowen, Harlis and Gavin are three entirely different men, but all of them are willing to see qualities in the others and they protect each other no matter what. Teagen matches perfectly with all three of them, and I enjoyed the way they did everything in their power to protect her.

A fantastic reverse harem prison story, the start of a series. The characters are interesting, diverse very well developed and have strong ever progressing chemistry, the storyline was engaging from start to finish and the concept brilliant. Filled with action, mystery, adventure, intrigue, secrets revealed, plots uncovered and foiled, more revealed character personalities and backgrounds, burgeoning love and steamy sexy scenes combining strangers into a cohesive whole. Julie K. Cohen is amazing and after reading this series starter, I will definitely be reading more books by this talented author.

This was such a great story! I loved the characters, how they developed as the story went on, and how 4 fairly broken peeps could support each other and help get the healing well under way so that their strengths could, once again shine. Teagan had so much to offer, once she got under their care, and yet she also cared for them so they all could find a way to be together. So many emotions, edge of my seat drama/suspense and enough steamy chemistry to have me break out the fan ;) Awesome read and I look forward to the next book in the series :)

Julie has written another hugely intriguing and steaming hot book about the prison planet. Teagan was wrongfully sent to prison and abused by the guards. Fortunately, she manages to escape and eventually finds her three protectors ( Bowen, Harlis and Gavin ). Will they continue to protect her??? How will this end??? Buy and read it, you will not be disappointed.

This was such a well written story with some fantastic characters. This is another great story about Teagen trying to survive on a prison planet. There is plenty of action, drama, fear, abuse, rape, survival, and finding Bowen, Harlis and Gavin for safety and protection. This story also shows you the depths that men with power sink to with the treatment of women and other men. Great series. A quick read but loved the new characters. I did note the reference to the other Prison World stories. We have 4 main characters in this book. Bowen, Harlis, Gavin and the woman they come to claim as theirs, Teagen. It's a little different from some of those in this setting that I have read, but equally as enjoyable. They have much to overcome, given where they are and Teagen has to hide from her abusive guards. They do get their HEA and that is always great to enjoy.

I honestly love this author. This series is absolutely incredible. Its well thought out, the men even though violent because of their circumstances capture our hearts each time we meet our new group, and the women are strong in their own ways. They come together and heal one another in one way or another. It’s truly beautiful to watch happen. Wonderfully written and action packed from the start. I can’t wait to see what this brilliant author comes up with next!

A great read!
How can one woman on a prison planet full of men survive? She'll have to use all her "qualities" to do so! Without spoiling too much, this book is a clever mix between reverse harem and prison world. Very well paced, you won't get bored. The suspense is very well crafted and the emotions of the characters are very coherent throughout the book.
If you like action or romance, or both! This book will delight you! A great read!
