After his blockbuster success of Little Black Girl Lost, and Little Black Girl Lost II Keith Lee Johnson takes us back to 1950's New Orleans, into the world of betrayal, envy, lust, and murder, where everyone has ulterior motives. The past resurfaces in this third installment of the life and times of seventeen year old Johnnie Wise. Truth has its consequences and Johnnie has a lot to answer for. The innocent girl we met in the first installment of this compelling series is gone; all that remains is the self-absorbed, self-righteous courtesan who is now complicit in three murders. She is surrounded by enemies who will stop at nothing to see that she pays for her past indiscretions. Two-hundred and fifty thousand dollars of the money that Sharon Trudeau (Johnnie's Stockbroker) stole is missing--the money Bubbles gave to Johnnie after killing Sharon in a Fort Lauderdale Hotel. The cops think Johnnie's involved and they want answers. Someone has to answer for Sharon's murder. Will Johnnie land on her feet again? Or has her luck finally run out?
I really loved this book! So happy that everything worked out for Johnnie in the end! I also love that there is some historical fiction in these books. It gives a small insight to what the south was like in the 50's as far as inter-racial relations and what feelings could have been on both sides. The twists and turns in these book really want to keep you reading. I am excited to read the next 2 books to see what happened before Johnnie Wise, now that we know her life story.
KLJ kept in stride with this book. I enjoyed this one as much as i enjoyed the first two. I think of the three I most enjoyed 1 and 3. I do feel it was a little rushed with the epilogue and Johnnie giving the back story. He could have gotten two more books out of that. I'm interested to see what #4 is going to be about since it's supposed to be the story of Johnnie's grandmother and she gave the background of her in this book. Perhaps he did it as a segue into #4.
This book was truly Amazing. One of the best I read all year. Definitely in the top 5 series wise. Normally I don't like to read there type of stories because Being a black woman living in utah these stories always remind me that racism is still very much alive. It also reminds me of how young our country is and how much has changed.
So glad everything works out for Johnnie in this book. But definitely leaves you hanging. I want to know what really happened. The mob doesn't just let you live. We shall see. Ready for The next installment of this series.
Wow! This third one was a doozy and a bit hard to get through. Lots of moving parts, but still intriguing anf kept my attention. I need to take a bit of a break from Johnni and Lucas, they were doing way too much ☺️
"Move On" were the last words that Johnnie could remember Lucas saying as she prepared to deal with life without him. As Johnnie deals with her heartache, will her past threaten the freedom that she has taken for granted? Can Johnnie stop the domino effect before it's too late?
Napoleon knows that if his "crew" catches a hint that he is in love with the beautiful negress, he could be killed. Will Napoleon finally get his hands around his prize possession?
Ethel Beauregard was humiliated on Thanksgiving Day but will not be humiliated again by the negro girl, Johnnie Wise, who claims to be a Beauregard. Since that tragic day, Ethel has had to live with the deaths of her family members and make sure that Johnnie does not get a dime of the Beauregard fortune. What heights will Ethel go in order to keep her good name and money colored free?
Keith Lee Johnson revisits the life of Johnnie Wise and though at times I felt it was rushed, you still cannot help but laugh, cry and feel triumphant at the role that Johnnie plays in a mostly all white cast. I will admit that LBGL was the best out of the series, but LBGL3 is a great contender.
TRIPLE the pleasure. LITTLE BLACK GIRL LOST 3, is a sure fire hit as Miss Johnnie Wise brings about more thriller, bedlam and slaughter. The Sentinel has printed an article encompassing seventeen-year-old Johnnie Wise and her connections to several unsolved murders, her white bloodline, mob alliances and her well-known money trail. With the news comes about a gargantuan scandal that just may cost a lot more than she can afford to pay.
It's Christmas 1953 in New Orleans. It's been two long years since Johnnie was thought of as an innocent child whose faith lay in God. Since, Johnnie has become a slave to her own self-seeking indulgence. Are all of Johnnie's misfortunes coincidental or is a tempest overflowing with perfidy, refutation, desire and covetousness brewing?
Readers and fanatics of the LBGL cycle will find fulfillment with the proceedings that will be released by seasoned author, Keith Lee Johnson.
The third book of the little girl lost is still exciting and full of surprises. The difference in this book is the overall tone. The tone is a lot more dark and serious. Very different from the first 2 books. The story is.more complicated for jonnie as her life keeps starting an up roar in the white community. With out spoiling thr story I can say is the only descriptive sex scenes are bad ones and there are a couple. For me that is unnecessary. The author ends tjr story of jonnie with giving you epilogue of her life sum up as older woman. From this I gather the author is through with this series but I see their are 3 More books after this. I know the next book goes back in history this may be interesting but from the the way the author has written this last book it sounds like this should be the end.
This one was my least favorite of the first three installments. You want to continue to follow Johnnie so this one is a must. The author does include a moral which is a good thing and the ending was bittersweet. I liked Johnnie and sort of liked Lucas but still missed Napolean terribly. The character development is the highlight of this series. The story again is highly improbable but eh... It's fiction.
I read this book right after i closed lbgl 2, i didn't stop till i finished it, it was good, then i was let down by the ending, it just fell flat for me, and when i guess johnny was talking about what happened after the end i was just disappointed, i will not read lgbl 4.
this book took a different turn from book 1 & 2. i was educated on alot of things i was unaware of. i was upset that napoileon was killed. i thought him and johnnie were gonna end up together, but i was happy she got to keep lucas even though it was years later.

I love Johnnie Wise, and I'm so gonna miss her. She had me as usual, laughin out loud. This is the first audio book that I finished the same day that I bought it. I didn't want to turn it off. I didn't like what happened to some of the characters, but it was good, none the less.
Wow...seems each book gets more interesting although some of it quite unbelievable. Johnnie Wise is like a cat with 9 lives and continues to rise from the ashes despite the odds. I'm moving on to the next good read!
If you like urban literature this is not a bad series. I read the first two and am now interested in reading the fourth. Every now and then I need something that I can read quickly. This series did just that.
Johnnie Mae seems to be a magnet for trouble & once again Napoleon's there to defend her. Plenty of lives lost as truths are revealed. I felt bad for Lucas-he was heartbroken, finding out the truth. Storyline held my attention. Great update at the end.
Really good story line. My only problem is with all the grammar errors! It was so disheartening to see all the errors of such a good ebook. Nonetheless it was a good read.
The ending was just as tantalizing as the begin, Love, lust, lies and deceit played a major part in the characters lives in this book. In the end, the purest of love reconnected throughout all the hardship they endured, love conquered it all
