Three stories in one

I gave up at the 44% mark of reading. The author wrote three stories and chopped them up so you can read them sequentially in piecemeal. Story one is the Nephillim present at the Garden of Eden. Story two is Golliath, of the biblical David and Golliath, is a Nephillim. Story three is the Nephillim stealing/recovering an item from the museum in Afghanistan during the present day war. Sometimes it is clear which story snippet you are reading and then there are those snippets where you are a page into it before you realize that the timeline has changed. This style of writing drives me crazy, such that I stopped reading a month ago and in spite of desiring to know the outcome of the Golliath as a Nephillim story, I have not read anymore of this story. I will be looking closely at this author's future writings before committing to reading his future works.

Really great idea, but it could use a bit more revision and editing. It appears to be three intertwined stories, although I relied more on the book description than the book itself to determine this. By 25% into the book, I still couldn't tell where each of the stories was going. The David and Goliath story was still all about David; the Nephilim in the Garden of Eden story seemed to be about random humans wandering around; and the most interesting, the one set in war-torn Baghdad, had just hinted at a mystery of very tall people (also Nephilim) stealing from the Baghdad museum. There was a lot of narration and some awkward language, perhaps attempting to indicate languge spoken in a different place and time. The story showed real promise, though. With further work, it could be excellent.
