Having started at the record label at the same time, Lead Musician Braxton Carson and his band have forged a solid friendship with Photographer Charlotte (Charlie) Bancroft. The entire group is thrilled to learn that they will be traveling together on Tour in the upcoming weeks.
The band ventures on a road trip around their country to connect with fans in remote areas, rather than just playing for the big city stadiums. It doesn’t take long for the Tour to show the close bonds they all share as friends, while also uncovering the undertones of romance between the two leads.
After just a few stops on the Tour, we learn that not only do Brax and Charlie have very similar interests, they also have an unspoken longing for each other. Their rather comical similarities and differences guarantee a hysterical and eventful trip ahead.
A night of drinking and mayhem with the band reveals Brax's true intentions for Charlie. After an awkward conversation, the sizzling spark we've sensed intensifies when Brax takes what he feels is his only shot of getting the girl.
True feelings ignite and humour unravels as the band learns of the shift in the relationship status. When a catastrophic chain of events unfolds, will Brax and Charlie fight for their love or crumble under the intense scrutiny?
After all, what’s a relationship without a little drama?
The story was thoroughly researched, the writing was impressive and brilliantly written. I enjoyed the banter between them, and the friendships that were developed had warmed my heart. I loved that they stood by each other and protected one another.
I loved that the characters had faults they embraced and acknowledged which made them more realistic.
Also, I laughed my ass off more than a few times and I'll mention that the steamy scenes got me all flustered.
This series is one I had read before it was published. Finally reading it again reminded me how much I loved this couple and the band of characters Luci created. The story itself wouldn’t be the same without all the side characters involved and are so important in what makes this book such an enjoyable read. It not only was fun but such a realistic view of a band on tour. Loved it 🥰
I think I went into this story with too high of hopes. While the story was well written and the sexy scenes plentiful, I often found myself bored. I kept waiting for a big event to push the characters and it didn't come. There were a few missed opportunities. The author has a lot of music knowledge that is clearly shown when the characters go into indepth descriptions. It took me a while to sort the characters and I struggled to see most of their personalities, aside from one. He was the only interesting character as far as Im concerned. The female MC was slightly interesting, through her struggles could have been written with more depth. The male MC was not at all my type. This story would have been better in third person POV. The multiple first person was often a struggle to keep strain as the characters didn't really have their own voices. While I did finish it, it wasn't a story I enjoyed. I'm a huge rockstar romance fan and this story just didn't do it for me.
What Happens on Tour (part 1) encapsulates the very essence of an 'on-tour' romance and the aussie music scene. This read was the perfect balance between drama, hilarity, heat and swoon worthy love. If you love a 'guy falls first' love story Charlie and Brax are such a perfect example. Moving from friends to lovers- their bond is tested by the highs and lows of rockstar life and personal history. Their story exists as part of the bands found family including so many wholesome, intense and hilarious moments that showed time and time again they all have each others back no matter what. The pranks, the stregth of friendships and loveable new faces made for such an enjoyable read. Luci Fer has an entertaining and easy to read writing style. It is so evident that she has shared Charlie and Brax' story straight from her soul. I cannot wait for more stories from this world!
I have to give this book 5 out of 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐stars! It has everything one could want in a book; love, sex, amazing characters, hilarious scenes, a great storyline and the little bit of mystery/drama. If you're not into friends goofing off, good (definitely not clean) grown-up humor then this is not the book for you. But if you enjoy a great group of friends, that can get raunchy, poke fun at each other and love each other with all their hearts, then take a few days to sit and meet this amazing group of characters! Because once you start reading you are NOT going to be able to put it down. I already can't wait for the second book in the series. I believe it will touch everyone's heart that reads it. The pepper rating I would have it as a Cayenne pepper🌶🌶🌶🌶 with enough heat to make you warm but not too much that all you need is a cold shower.
If you have read this book on other platforms please beware there have been changes, but they are worth it for what you are getting. Luci Fer has brought these characters to life, given them depth and the back stories that they deserve.
This is definitely a 18+ book, with the partying, language and sex scenes.
This book is the first book of The Tour Series and introduces a lot of the characters that will be in the remainder of the series. The two main characters that this book is based around are Charlotte, aka Charlie, and Braxton, aka Brax. This author has been able to give the scope of these characters history in the first few chapters, the chemistry is tangible and addictive. Charlie is told two days before Abandoned Bygone is supposed to head out on tour that she needs to accompany them. Trying to keep from giving into desire isn't an easy thing to do, throw in the rest of Brax's band mates into this interesting situation and you have a recipe for some fun! The only questions that remain are why is Charlie so worried and are they strong enough to survive the people trying to rip them apart?
“This girl had the power to light up a stadium. More important, she had lit up my soul.” - Brax.
What happens on tour takes you on a journey filled with love, friendship, family and music. It really has it all.
Charlie and Brax first meet in the waiting lounge of AusHop Studios. They are both there for different meetings that will change the course of their lives forever and a friendship that would only get deeper and stronger with time.
“We became like Batman and Robin from that day on.” - Charlie.
Brax and Charlie are entertaining to say the least. He’s protective, super caring and is all about her. She’s strong, fun, cautious and is fighting with every breath to claim her independence. These two have angst, sexual tension and a whole lot of banter.
Throw in the rest of the crew and it is chaos on a bus. Chester is just cray cray for days but you can’t help but love the damn monkey. Shane, Mark and Liam are little more sane but still got that banter that we all like to dish out. Even Marcus who is there manager got in on the fun when he wasn’t playing dad to the band.
What happens on Tour is written for the reader to experience a day in the life of touring Australia with a band. It feels like you are on the bus with them, stopping over in hotels and at the concerts. It’s very different compared to other rockstar romances.
Now let’s talk about the research that went into this book. Just wow! You can tell that the author really immersed herself in the music world and learned notes, strings and everything that goes into being a musician. Nothing is glossed over. She knew her shit.
This book is full of Aussie banter and its so nice to see Australia play such a giant part in a book. I loved visiting each stop on the tour.
Thank you Luci Fer for introducing me to Brax & Charlie! I absolutely loved reading this book so much and i can’t wait to see where there journey takes them.
‘We were one. And I was exactly where I needed to be’
What Happens on Tour is a musician romance that is set in Australia! It follows Charlie, a photographer working for a record label in Sydney. She is assigned last minute to tour with her friend Brax’s Hip Hop band ‘Abandoned Bygones’ on their first Australian Regional Tour.
There is so much detail in this story, I felt like I was there with them on tour, going through the ups and downs.
I loved the friendship between Charlie, Brax & the band member, they tease each other but they are also so protective of each other. The banter was absolute perfection.
All the guys in band are trying to adjust to their newfound fame and the scrutiny that comes with being successful in the music industry.
It was so nice to see the story set in Australia, as the band tours around regional towns.
Brax is literally boyfriend goals he is so supportive and protective towards Charlie, he has loved her for so long and to see them figure out their feelings for each other was beautiful.
This story has everything you need! Laughs, emotions, spice and friendship! 💜
‘This goddess held the power of life or death, and she knew it when she took your breath. For not to do it out of spite, her sincerity was a shining light, She beckoned me in ebbs and flows, and I wondered if she even knows.’
Wow, Okay I found this author on instagram and I was intrigued enough to give this book a chance. I can say I enjoyed myself, I like the way the story and the characters were fun to get to know. Mostly I got all these flashbacks of being a directioner and fangirling about the band and reading the behind the scenes story of the band members just made me think of my fangirl days a lot. So that was pretty sweet. And the love between Charlie and Brax was sweet too. They took so much time to come around and be honest about their feelings and it was nice to read that build up, I was legit rooting for them. Brax is so good with communication, he never failed to put his feelings forward and let Charlie know how much she means to him. With Charlie's past life and things she dealt with she needed a man like him. Felt good to see Charlie accepting that she deserves good love and not backing away. The friendship vibes from the whole band, their manager was something I appreciated too. The boys had each other's backs! And we get some surprise povs of other band members too so that was nice. In all I had a good time!
"Call me selfish, but I can't have one or the other. Not when I need both."
• Luci Fer's first book of The Tour Series exceeded every expectation, offering page after page of entertainment. Your heart will sink and swell with the main character, Charlie, as she struggles to find her voice. Swoon-worthy Brax, the male lead, strikes the perfect chord between rock star and sweetheart. The cast of supporting characters will leave you giggling with their Aussie banter and ridiculous roasts. • I could gush over the spice, the laughs, and the drama, but I was most drawn to the musical element of the story. As if the author dropped me directly on the tour bus, I held a front row ticket with the vivid descriptions of band chatter, instrument expertise, and concert vibes. My favorite aspect was the thoughtfully written lyrics woven into the scenes, providing depth to band's journey and passion.
• Whether you're a fan of romance, humor, music, or smut, you'll find yourself loving What Happens on Tour.
~ I received an advance copy of this book as an ARC team member, and I am voluntarily offering this review. ~
Reading this book really makes you feel like you are on tour with the band! Checking into hotels, meeting groupies, sex, drùgs and rock n roll and aaaall the problems that come with that 🙈
This book follows the band as they tour part of Australia, and the female main character, Charlie, is on tour with them as their photographer. The band is starting to get big and on this tour everyone is learning things about themselves, the media and the lengths people will go to to get a pay day or cause problems.
I definitely do not envy famous people 🙈
I loved feeling like I was visiting the stops in Australia and the friendships between the band mates was amazing. I LOVED the Aussie banter. Super keen to know more about Chester - ever since the scene about him climbing the telegraph pole 🤣
Read if you like -
🎤 Friends to lovers 🎤 Aussie banter 🎤 Family drama 🎤 Strong friendships 🎤 Rockstar romance
We follow Charlie as a photographer on tour with a troublesome adventurist band. Plus side they are all close friends. Could that be a recipe for disaster or the best tour EVER!
Absolutely amazing and discripted writing. Really draws you into every character, and there personalities. Very easy read to get lost in without everything moving to fast, just fast enough to keep you stuck inside the story.
Has a little bit of everything to please any reader. The smutty scenes are hot but oh so sweet at the same time. The banter between the characters is like your sat on the verander with them, smoking & drinking beer. We mustnt forget to mention our Cheeky Monkey, garentee no one will be immune to him. Without giving to much away, Richard is class A D*ck!
WOW!! So, I went in blind, thinking it was for the best... and it was! I didn't know what to expect... Luci was a new author to me and I was so lucky to be gifted a copy of the book to read and review by the author herself. The plot hooked me from the very beginning and kept my attention all the way through. I loved the fact that it was an Australian-based romance because I'm an Australian too and it made me love the characters that much more. The humour, banter, passion and heat were off the charts! I absolutely loved Braxton. he was funny, sexy and everything you want in a rockstar book boyfriend and Charlie, she is witty and fun and her and Brax's relationship and chemistry and the way they bounced off each other was addicting to read!
This would have to be one of my top reads for 2023 so far
What can I say. This is an amazing journey that Luci has allowed me to take with her phenomenal skills. I have been one of her followers and fans since she published on the chapters app. While I have read her first release of this book and thought there is no way she could top herself she has proven there is always a way to make it better. I am waiting on pins and needles for the release of the rest of this series to see how she improves her already perfect stories.
This book is everything a reader would look for , a very intriguing storyline full of events, hot stuff, powerful love, friendships, loyalty and a lot of teasing and jokes. The author has the ability to keep the reader's attention high through an intelligent and refined writing and by providing strong emotions and a sense of belonging. A story that makes you heart beat fast, your cheeks flush and makes you flustered to the core..
This book was a fun read. I love when a book is set in Australia and I can recognise locations and phrases. It had very Aussie humour which I enjoyed. You really feel like you are on tour with the band. There's drama and shenanigans throughout which was very entertaining. I loved the relationship between Charlie and Brax but I also loved Charlie's found family relationship with the rest of the band. It was funny, steamy and I am looking forward to reading book two!
I loved this book! The story was fascinating and it felt as though you were right there with the characters. I find it amazing how much research went into this story in regards to the behind the scenes of touring. This story had so many twists, turns and mic drops (metaphorically and literally 👀) all the boys in Abandonment Bygone were unique but loving and you could really sense the family they had built together! I will 100% be continuing this series.
This book, these characters and the story are SO ADDICTING!!! They’re all so honest and fun loving! The sarcastic banter and pranks keeps me coming back for more every time I miss them! The artists in this story speak to the artist in myself and inspire me every time I read it! 5 out of 5 will not regret finding out What Happens on Tour!!!
Okay. I have been following this author since she started on an app called Chapters. I loved this story then, and boy, did she not disappoint me. This is an amazing book, and I will recommend it to anyone. She made this even better now that it's published. Thank you, Luci Fer. I can't wait for the rest of the series.
Mic 🎤 drop! And that evil midget is how you write a rockstar romance!
This is my first ever romance read based on a band (Rockstar), and it did not disappoint!
Charlie, a professional photographer, has been placed on her best friends tour of Australia to capture the bands highlights. But things start to change for this cutie when true feelings come to the surface.
What happens on Tour - well, it doesn't stay on Tour 😉😉
Loved reading this book, it showed great detail about each character and a deep storyline with a bit of cheekiness from Chester still thrown in. Cannot wait to read more! :)
I have read the original on Inkitt but loved it even more with the revamp that you did. The added details made me I love this even more and I cannot wait to read the others when you release them on this platform!
I loved this book. ❤️ Both female and male MC I found interesting. The hot scenes🔥🌶 I loved how sure Brax was of his feelings and how gentle he was with Charlie allowing her the space snd time to feel safe enough to open up about her past.
Ok, so hear me out. I might be a little biased when it comes to Luci Fer. I loved this story. Not the first time I’ve read it either, so I’m working my way through it again. It was so Australian that reading it and all the little Australian nuances that came with made it such an easy read. The chemistry between the two was top notch and I can’t wait to dive into the next one. Not gonna lie I absolutely loved Chester, one of the side characters and ‘Monkey’ of the group. I just wanted to hug him at one point and tell him it’s all ok but luckily my girl Charlie (MFC) did that for me. The found family in this story warmed my heart. The acceptance of each other, faults and all, and how they have each others back is beautiful.
💜 He falls first 💜 Friends to lovers 💜 Dual POV 💜 Found Family
Loved this book by Luci Fer couldn’t put it down. I laughed the whole way through it. Chester has to be one of the best characters ever. The plot is well written the author describes every little detail right down to the t. It make me want to travel to Oz just to experience it all. I’m excited to start the next book.

If you haven’t read this book yet, don’t think about it just pick it up and read you will of be disappointed in the slightest! I cannot wait for more of your books Luci Fer!
For those of you who are in the mood for a rockstar romance but one that’s set in Australia, this is for you!
What Happens On Tour is part one of the Tour Series which follows the band, Abandoned Bygone, but with a main focus on Charlie and Brax, while on the road making their way around Australia for their first regional tour.
Charlie’s a successful photographer who works for a record label in Sydney. Two days before the boys are to set off on tour, she’s hired to come along and help out as the photographer and manage their socials.
As Brax is a friend who’s helped her through her past trauma, she can’t say no and joins him and the boys on tour over the next few months.
What starts as a friendship quickly turns into more as the two are constantly within close proximity whether it be on the bus or in the hotel. Eventually the two can’t deny their feelings for one another and things really begin to heat up! Brax is protective of Charlie and will do anything to make her happy.
The banter between both Charlie and Brax, as well as with the boys in the band was hilarious. Chester had me giggling at his outbursts and childish behavior 😆 However, when things got serious they always had each others backs and stood by one another.
Charlie really needed a man like Brax who proudly helped her through her past trauma and anxiety, and who always kept the lines of communication open. Together they were perfect!
I have not read a book based on an Aussie band before, and I loved it. friends to lovers is not my normal go to but I loved how this was done, instead of getting the messy will they won't they we get back story of it and they jump into actual being together.
The pair is hit with a few bumps along the road, some of which had me screaming like duck that person...
The Spice was well done, and I loved getting a mix of his and her perspectives in the act.
fantasy book, did take me a bit to get through it but I have been in a little reading funk. I would recommend this book as I enjoyed the read.
