Since the past year or so I have come across loads of self help books. Though I dont prefer this genre but then due to the kind of rough patch I was and still going through had to pick up something that can help me keep myself sane and motivated. I loved most of these books which I read over the year but then one thing was common in almost all of them is they tend to get preachy at times mainly because of the lack of connect and reality. This book stands apart as it doesn't talk about plain inspirational stuff but instead author talks about his own journey which raises the expectation level by several notches.
The book is intricately written and content are very well organised . At the initial part author conveys the kind of struggles he had to go through in the starting phase of his career and how he dodged all the obstacles and converted them into opportunities. In the latter half he tells how he was able to achieve so much and how a human mind really works. Also in his trademark style he explains to his readers how one can make maximum use of their mental strength to come out victorious in every kind of situation.
The book has a beautiful cover which fascinates you readily . Also the narration is quite honest though there are instances when author has kind of surrendered to his emotions and went way too far than necessary. For instance there were many junctures especially in his autobiographical part which were irrelevant and should have been truncated . A seasoned editor would certainly have made the book much more crisper . Also I dint find the title very apt inspite of writer somehow trying to justify it. Notwithstanding these flaws ,overall it is a comprehensive work and sort of tribute of author to his own life.

It is backed up by ten principles to build an extraordinary mind and again seven principles to develop an attractive personality. Also he has taken care to answer few questions that may arise in the minds of readers related to life, love & career. The book starts with the detailed description of author's life past college. Breakups can be hurtful and they can be more worse if you lose them as a friend, too. After years of relationship, when break up affects Ashwin, he is lost and numb. He doesn't know if he can come out of this darkness ever but there's always light after dark. So was the case with Ashwin, too.
The author dives deeper into topics like his times of battling with depression, overcoming serious breakup, finding a source of income, constantly juggling with finding a good job, switching from one profession to another, moving to places, motivating himself to come out of his comfort zone and lastly making it BIG.
It sounds too good to be true but all of it was possible only because of perseverance. People who achieve something in their life have struggled in silence. For them to be known in public, they have sacrificed so much in private.
The author gives us a great description of his life and its events and it was easy to follow through. He shares about his Grandfather who was his role model and taught him so much to remember for lifetime. I enjoyed this book so much for its vast details and engaging content. However, few details and events could be eliminated or reduced for the better of it.
What impressed me so much is the honesty with which Ashwin narrates his tale. Raw and uncut. Nowhere a sign of pretentiousness. Neither did I feel the author tried impressing readers. I recommend this book to everyone.

The autobiography covers almost half of the length of the book. A part of this autobiography is quite disheartening but partially relevant to the subject of this book. The autobiography is too long and I lost interest a couple of times because I could not figure out where the story is going. Many aspects of the autobiography are irrelevant too. I would appreciate it if this part was shorter and more precise.
The second section is Mind Conditioning Techniques. This section is quite useful as it contains a lot of actionable knowledge. My favourite section here is the Dont's and Do's sections. I found them quite sensible and useful. The explanations for each point is very lengthy and given in too much detail. They are very helpful too but because of the depth of the explanation which spans about 10 pages each, it becomes difficult to keep track of even what the current heading is.
Coming to the title of this book "The Music of Silence", though the author has provided an explanation of why he chose the title, I did not find it very satisfactory.
The book does contain some very useful information but it is too long and also has a lot of irrelevant and vague concepts. I would enjoy this book more if only relevant, concise and precise incidents and the connected lessons were included in this publication.

I liked the next part more because it’s more innovative. The author has developed and mentioned his own techniques. Like he has given personalised touch. Ashwin’s DSLR mind test was indeed good. I aim to write my own success story one day and make it a book that would be a help for all those who believe in themselves, their talent and want to do something remarkable.
Picking up this book was not hard for me as this is also a story of a no one to someone ! A person who has made it's remarkable name on a OTT platform Disney+ hotstar.
There are two aspects to the book, by now you might know that one would probably be Autobiography. His autobiography is one thing you should all inspired by, it is filled with the experience he got from failing in different career paths and finally grabbing the oppurtunity of being some one to that failure.
Second aspect to this book is Mind Conditioning technique wherin all you should learn is how to train your mind in a way that won't affect you mentally and emotionally.
Overall the strugles are real and author has not hesitated ti share his life experiences openly. The language is simple to understand. The sentence flow is beautiful! One thing this book can work better on is it's cover, no doubt it is beautiful but I expect it to be more illustrative (My POV after reading this book)

This is a very motivating and inspiring story of the author himself. The first part of the book is the author's life story how he faced failures and personal relationship problems everything in his journey . He had to face times where he lost all his hopes but being a strong person he came back better he struggled , worked hard , fought and from no one he became a successful filmmaker . Coming to second part of the book I found it very interesting as the content was kind of unique author has explained the mind conditioning techniques to have a control on our minds and train our mind to be the best . He has also given ten principle to build an extraordinary mind and Ashwin's seven principle to develop the best personality . It was really helpful for me to read this book it totally changed my mind and enhanced my personality. Language used is simple and easy to understand and narration done is very well. Must read 👍
The title and book cover goes well with the concept. I always love to read real-life incidents/events and reading this book was totally worth it. Many parts made me emotional and some gave me goosebumps, it was a roller coaster ride of emotions, struggles, pain. I literally felt that someone is actually telling me their story and not just someone has written it. If you love to know about Ashwin's life and how he overcame all of the obstacles then you should check this out. I am very inspired by reading his journey. We believe we have the deepest scars until we read/watch or get to know someone else story. I am glad that I have chosen this book and become a part of Ashwin's journey. Sometimes we don't even know where and why we are stuck, if somewhere, listening to Ashwin's story might help you to recognize it and it might help you to gain your goals/dreams. Do's and Don'ts mentioned were very useful and the self-realization questions asked were meaningful. Highly recommended.

He has made several short films for Uttar Pradesh. 💗 From the cover page of the book or from the title of the book it gives clear imagination that this book is about Autobiography of the Author. Basically this book is divided into two parts: 1) An Autobiography and 2) 2) Mind Conditioning Techniques 💗 1st is the autobiography of the author ,author's journey from being a Computer Science and Engineering graduate to becoming a film-maker.and the 2nd part consists of Mind conditioning techniques. The first part motivates us to change for betterment and the second part teaches us how to achieve it 💗 The author has written amazing mind techniques that help the reader to remain motivated and strive for excellence and work hard for success. Language of the book is easy to understand. Personally I enjoyed this book.

I was eager to read more in this genre after finishing 'leadership in 100 words.' And this book drew my attention. The book The Music of Silence by Ashwin Alok is a good read that aims to encourage readers to tackle obstacles. It's the storey of his transformation from "no one" to "film creator." He has appeared in a number of short films. The book is split into two sections. The first section is an autobiography, while the second is on mind conditioning techniques. The plot moves quickly. He finished his engineering degree but ran into a lot of problems. He had a difficult time during the next few years. The author tries to instil confidence in the reader and encourages them to never give up. The storey will assist you in rediscovering your life's purpose. The author has presented his two-entity theory as well as a test to determine whether we control or are controlled by our brains.
The author's writing style is straightforward. The author has attempted to answer numerous questions on life, struggle, and other topics. The cover was also one of the aspects of this book that I like the best. It's quite appealing to the eye, and the colour combination is also appealing.
It's not possible to commit all mistakes by yourself in this life and moreover surely not possible to overcome all the negative phases of life. Hence it's a good way to learn from the lives of others.
This compilation is one such lesson to add on to our lives. This is an autobiography of the author depicting his journey from a general part of the crowd to becoming the filmmaker for an OTT platform.
Failure for once could be overcomed by motivational quotes and stories but repetitive failure leads to a dark pit of self doubts and dying spirit. In this compilation the author focused to share truly his own failures along with his approach and inspiration he received everytime.
The book goes in two phases: phase one narrates the story of author, his falls, uprisings, losses and his ultimate win. While second phase focuses upon his methods of mind conditioning. He used multiple ways to deal with his own problems which could be exactly the thing that you might be lacking right now in your life.
In short, although I'm not much fond of autobiographies but this one is a better choice to go for a read.
