SPACE PIRATES! The Marauders hit the highest seas of all when they point their bow to the stars! But what threat awaits them…and why has it sworn vengeance?!
Numero incentrato su un'astronave telepatica che Emma aveva rubato a un criminale spaziale, che ora torna a riprendersela.
Il tutto ambientato su Marte, nella città che fa respirare un'aria da Star Wars.
Carina come idea, eh. Ma passi il tempo a chiederti che diavolo sia questa roba, che c'entri con la storia dei Marauders (cui ancora cerchiamo un senso) e perché la stiamo leggendo. Non aiutano i disegni.
Normally I'd appreciate a Star Wars homage or reference but for this issue it comes off as a cheap and desperate way to make a crappy script likeable. Having this take place in outer space and on Arakko was frustrating in general. Honestly, if I wanted something like this I'd be reading S.W.OR.D. instead. After the promise of the previous issue having some focus as to what Marauders is actuay about, this was disappointing. Not really feeling the depictions of these characters either. The use of Iceman, or lack thereof, on basically the entire run of Marauders is ridiculous.
Most importantly, the Han Solo rip off scene!? Wtf!? If Star Wars wasn't also owned by Marvel they would be suing their asses. Awful.
Terrible issue, interesting to see how Arrako planet is evolving but otherwise it was just shit. A story we've never seen, referenced off page, and went in a little circle and will close with nothing changing apart from them being short some made up currency. What a fucking waste of paper.
Also the art, some panels were fine but Kate constantly looked like an over 60 recovering alcoholic sporting a 70's hairdo with a horse shaped face.
Another title pretty much along with everything else that's going down the pan.
Phil Noto art is always a win, and automatically elevates any comic it graces the pages of, and it’s no different here.
The actual story is an odd one, as an alien comes to Arrako/Mars, seeking vengeance on Emma Frost because she stole his spaceship. Ultimately, she offers to pay him off, but just when everyone thinks he’s happy to go on his way, there’s a twist in the tale…
It’s fun but relatively thin stuff, with the ultimate ramifications of the story likely to be more interesting than the story itself. But that art is really lovely.

Good thing they included the Lando Calrissian knockoff has psy-shields or I'd have wondered how he got the drop on Emma and gang. I don't like that Kate isn't the star of the book like she was when it started. Kate is so much fun to read. Emma isn't bad just not my favorite. But it's still a fun intro to whatever this story end up being
"While I didn't love how we got into this mess, I do love how we got out."
Loved seeing Sebastian Shaw intervening in the fight, absorbing the grenade and just shutting Eden Rixlo down by explaining "Bro, I know these two and take it from me, this won't go your way."
Also, Arrakoans having a policy on not selling firearms to Earthers? Probably the smartest decision.
Damn space pirates! Tried to be nice. 🤦🏾♂️ love how the team deal with the threats to society both terrestrial and extra that comes with building a nation….and planet at this point. While the art is not my usual style it went with the story.
