It’s very short and sweet. Ivy and Beckett come together out of a tragic beginning but their connection is sweet. While some things are left unanswered, the story is made to just sit back and relax for a little while to decompress. There is not a lot of drama or angst which made it perfect for me to read after work.

Ivy has been a prisoner in her own house for almost 8 years. After her mother died when Ivy was 14, her dad went a little nuts and withdrew her from school and mostly kept her locked in her room. At first Ivy figured he was just trying to protect he with all the locks and bars he installed. However Ivy is 22 and is tired of being locked up. She would try to escape but she has nowhere to go and no one to help her. Then one night she awoke to her house on fire that was probably set by her father. She struggled to get out but all the bars on the windows made it really hard. Luckily she was able to get out the back door in time to see the roof collapse. Ivy was worn out and decided to rest under the tree in the back yard. She wakes up to find a fireman yelling to bring help to her. The EMTs wanted to take her to the hospital but Ivy refused because she has no insurance or money. Beckett, the fireman who found her offers her his spare room until she can get on her feet again. Ivy is so drawn to Beckett, she would do anything to stay near him.

Beckett was glad to find Ivy safe in her backyard. He was her neighbor but he had never seen her before. His first look at Ivy had him falling deeply in love with her. Now he just has to balance his need to take care of her and her need for independence. He would love to tell Ivy how he really feels but he is afraid that would put too much pressure on her.

This is the last book in the Rose Grove Ridge series. I hope that the author comes back to revisit some of these characters again. I love this sweet story about Beckett and Ivy. Ivy knows that there is something wrong with how she was raised. When she wakes up to her house on fire, she does everything she can to make it out alive. This is her chance to start a new life. Beckett is a firefighter who lives near her house. She has never met him before. He finds her and takes her to his house to recover for the night. His sister is a nurse who checks Ivy after she refuses the hospital. Beckett is very attracted to Ivy but after hearing some of the things she went through, doesn't see who they can be together. Will Ivy open his eyes to all the possibilities they can have together?

Loved this sad sweet story of Beckett and Ivy. Dove Daniels has written an amazing book. Even though there are 12 books in the series they are all stand-alone. She has written Ivy as a strong and spunky Ivy was despite her past. Beckett got her help when he found her passed out by a tree when her home burnt to the ground (he is a firefighter). He showed her great and gave Ivy space to make her own choices. She called him her knight in shining armor. Loved the story and the characters. I cannot wait to read more by this author. Recommend this book for those that enjoy a great romance story.

Ivy has a history that makes her doubt herself and her future. Beckett had no aspirations to fall in love. When Beckett finds Ivy in need of rescue, the sparks fly and the connection is immediate. The way Beckett works to help Ivy realize her own strength and value is beautiful. So far, they are my favorite couple in this whole series. Like the other books in this series, it is absolutely delightful.

This book may be quick but it doesn't leave you hanging.
Standalone with no cliffhangers.
Ivy has had a rough life but doesn't treat herself like a victim. She is strong and just needs a helping hand, maybe a knight, or just a hot firefighter.
Beckett has wanted to do more then just help Ivy since he found her. He wants to keep her.
This is a short insta-love story with heat.

A great story that brought these two characters together with Beckett certain his life won't be the same because of Ivy.
I was won over by the blurb before I ever devoured the entire thing.
Ivy has a past which could get in the way of her future but this man will help her with everything he can.
A lovely romance with the ideal storyline for a beautiful night read.

These two were so sweet! Love the military angle and the the fact that they were both a little wounded and needed each other. Never met two people so good together and so sweet about trying to make everything better for the other. I received a copy of this book from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This quick read shows that light can come from darkness and has likeable characters. The connection between these two is sweet and I enjoyed seeing their connection develop and the love, support, understanding and respect shown in it.
