A family of powerful women, a sexy god, action, adventure, and a love story for the ages. Brenda Trim’s Mystical Midlife in Maine series contains all of this and more. Pick up Holidays with Hades for one of the more unique holiday stories you will read.
Phoebe and Aidoneus are dating. She's human but a witch and he's the son of Hades. Makes for an interesting family get together especially when someone comes to Phoebe for help with a curse and the curse gets transferred to her. Now instead of getting her house ready for Hades visit, she can barely remember who she or her family is.
With the help of Aidoneus and his father, Hades they get to the bottom of who is responsible for the curse and how to get rid of it but that revelation comes with some sad knowledge because there's nothing worse than getting stabbed in the back by someone you thought was a friend.
With all this going on the anxiety of having Hades visit was put on the back burner until he just shows up and they have to deal with him and his nasty attitude about his sons love interest. But while everyone else is scared of angering Hades, Phoebe isn't and let's him know it. Hades actually likes her attitude which is one reason he decides to help her, much to everyone's surprise.
This was a fun book and I liked Phoebe and her family.
It's almost Christmas (or Yule or winter solstice...) and Phoebe has her all of her family with her, including both of her children. Just when she thinks she has everything all figured out for the various celebrations, Aidon drops a bombshell. His father is coming for the holidays and wants to meet the woman who stole his son from him. That sounds bad enough, but on top of that Aidon's father is Hades. The GOD Hades, eek. Now Phoebe is in a tizzy. Just when she thinks things can't get worse she is hit with a curse, one that locks down all her powers and leaves her a mundie. If they can't find the witch that cursed her in a hurry her powers are going to blow up and kill her. Now having Hades visit doesn't sound so bad....(Though the phone call from her ex-husband still rates right up there!)
I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
I really like this series and it’s been fun to watch out heroine’s growth as her adventures continue. I have a major issue with the continued use of commas in the weirdest places and contradictory messages. One is her best friends family accepted her as a witch and now they never accepted her (weird side note in the story).
I’ll keep reading because I do like where the story is headed with Phoebe and her crazy life. But if our girl could stop trying to throw up over everything, that would be nice. I don’t know how a character that has 20 years hospital experience is always wanting to throw up over things that are not throw up worthy.
Phoebe and her family are getting ready to celebrate the holiday season, but a visit from Hades and a curse make things difficult!
This is a seasonal short for the Mystical Midlife in Maine series, but ties in to the main series and cannot be read as a standalone. There are a couple of very significant events in the story, so it can’t be left out either!
An enjoyable trip back to Maine with the gang, with plenty of magical action and a little romance. This whole series is recommended for Paranormal Women’s Fiction fans!
Phoebe is a powerful witch, head of her coven and responsible for a large territory. Trouble is, she only got witch powers a year ago, and is still learning to use them and cast spells. But she has a large company of supportive family, friends, and yes, A powerful boyfriend. This storyline was interesting. Phoebe meets her boyfriend's father, who happens to be the God, Hades. Only things aren't going well right now. Talk about bad timing! Loved this book.
I wish I could give this a higher rating than 5🌟's This has to be the best book of the series and I have loved every other book before this one. I love the characters and having Hades join the cast was brilliant. I hope we see him more often because I would live to see more conversations between him and Nana. The chemistry between Phoebe and Aidon is so hawt! Extremely well written that it kept my interest and I didn't want to put it down. I can't wait for book 5 to come out in a few weeks. Highly recommend this series
Let me just say Hades is so cool. Yeah at the beginning he's a little rough around the edges. What parent isn't? They just want what's best for their kids. Phoebe is a little gullible she should have been on her guard. She ends up cursed while Hades is there. She barely survives. Hades offers to help her figure out who it is. Phoebe learns more about the circumstances leading the person up to her curse & offers her compassion. I hope we get to meet Aidoneus' mom soon. Hint, hint Brenda.
Phoebe about has a heart attack when Andon brings his father for Yule. Yes, Hades is coming for dinner. But, in the mean time Phoebe has her normal problems. But this one could take her magic and life. The show family gets in on the fun with Hades in the wings. Brenda Trim is a fantastic storyteller, she makes her series into a place you want to go live. The paranormal life is a fabulous way to live. I can wish. Can't wait for the next book.
Phoebe just can't seem to catch a break during Yule everything that can go wrong does. Phoebe tries her best to a good witch and help people with their paranormal problems but this time it backfires and to top it all off her boyfriend's father Hades is coming for dinner. Wow talking about Murphy's Law. I will not give away any spoilers but this storyline and plots are so different but yet intertwined perfectly. I recommend this book. This is my honest unbiased review.
This is a short fun and enjoyable holiday story, It’s the first in this series and by this author I have read but as the characters are interesting along with the close bond they seem to share this is unlikely to be the last I read, I want to know more about how Phoebe gained this new role she finds herself in.
Short novell over the holidays. Hades ended up being a resonable guy - for a God. She gets cursed and the responsible causes a heartbreak. I didn’t like how the kids jumped at seeing their dad, who spent months of non-contact, simply because he called and is “alone”, especially right after she almost died - again.
Phoebe and Aidan face another test to their relationship with his father and a curse all happening at the holiday! A great short story that develops quickly and keeps you reading to see how it will end.
This is a really good book by a very talented writer. The storyline kept me on my toes. I can't wait for the next book by this author. She is a very good and original storyteller! You won't be disappointed at all.
I am really enjoying this book and series of books they are so good! I am really enjoying the characters and story line of this series of books they are so good! I really like the characters and the way you have written the story line!
Still loving this great series. Phoebe is on a mad house cleaning kick after learning that Hades, God of The Underworld and Aidon's father is coming to visit. However, on the day of the visit, Phoebe is cursed and loses her connection to her familiar and her memory.
Another insight to the life of the newest witch in town and her ever growing 'family'. Phoebe always seems to be landing in the deep end when she tries to help someone and there is no exception this time!
I was enjoying this series until I attempted to download this book. What downloads is NOT what it's supposed to be. It's one from another series. Very disappointing. That is why the rating is so low.
I was going to give one star because the story that downloaded is from another series. But since i also like that series, I gave it more. Just wish I could get the story from this series.
The sample is Mystical Midlife in Maine but the download is Midlife Witchery Yule Tidings. Don't know how this got mixed up on Amazon downloads but it did. Please get this fixed.
Phoebe is cursed and loses touch with her magic and her familiar. Then to top it all off Hades wants to meet his son's girlfriend so he is coming for the holidays. Talk about stress. Great story!
So many issues getting i n the way of her first Yule, but the crew works together to deal with each one. Loving this family Phoebe has drawn together and surrounded herself with.
I am so glad that I found Brenda Trim's series, it has kept me entertained. The characters in this series are enjoyable, I do look forward to her actually getting to know the other members of the Pleibes (sp?) Coven.
The fourth book in the Mystical Midlife in Maine series. Another great story, of a curse, Hades, a mystery, suspense, drama, danger and romance. I will be reading the next book. I read a copy of this book via K.U. and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Even though I am getting a bit tired of people always trying to kill Phoebe, this time there was an interesting twist. I also like how certain mythology are explored. Looking forward to the next in the series
I chose this series because the character is over 40. Better than a bunch of teens who have no idea what life is like. (Mine were that way) I would freak out of Hades was coming for Yu!e as well! Hattie was one smart cookie for choosing Phebe to take her place.
Great series Hades comes to visit for holidays a curse betrayal and lot of drama .magic but family love even non blood but chosen friends can become family .
This was a decent story. The plot is easily followed, the main characters are fun and the sense of family is heartfelt. I can easily recommend this book.
