Imagine being locked in a room with a complete stranger. Would you survive? For Oakley and Holland, the idea of having to share a room with someone they don’t know becomes a reality. Both are on a venture to escape their worlds, attempting to leave behind everything negative. Along the way, paths are crossed, introducing the idea of building together. Before they get too far off the ground, secrets and truths are exposed, showing just what they’re fleeing. While seemingly locked away from the world, they not only have to face their own demons, but that of the other as well. Knowing the truth about Oakley, will Holland continue to pursue her? After finding out just what Holland is hiding, can Oakley look past it, considering her own past?
This one was definitely a bust for me. Both main characters were completely unlikeable. Holland was mean from the moment he met Oakley and Oakley simply didn't make sense. They both had some over the top back stories and the entire story felt like it had no real timeline. The romance isn't explicit but it didn't feel.like your average happily ever after. Very, very toxic all around and definitely not for the faint of heart even though it's short. I can't conciously recommend this book to anyone.
Locked Away With You is a short story but you cannot tell me that I didn’t read a full length novel. Holland and Oakley both found themselves running from their problems and right into each other’s arms they went. Holland snatched up the last available hotel room during a bad storm and he offered Oakley the chance to have a place to lay her head. Now- that was different but it worked for the storyline. Both characters had heavy baggage that they were toting around but the almost instant attraction could not be denied. The two fell in sync really quickly and Holland was definitely in protective mode. I felt bad for Oakley because she was so young and had endured so much. I think the instant connection works for this story but if the book were longer I think it would be a barrier. But for the length, it works. In a short amount of pages there was intense love making, drama, and then a happy ending. I really loved the way that Holland went so hard for Oakley- even when her age showed. I think this book just shows there is no time frame for love and when it’s meant to be, the stars align. I enjoyed this one and I appreciate the trigger warning at the beginning.
Yes Cherish! You did that! What a story of two individuals forced together due to circumstance, but found so much more! Holland and Oakley both, were running when they ended up at the hotel trapped by the storm. Their attraction was instant, but the secrets they both were hiding kept the other at arms length. However, they quickly succumbed to the passion that was present from the moment they laid eyes on each other. Their love came suddenly, but was intense and real! When the secrets were revealed, I thought how are they going to come back from this? But, somehow love finds a way! Need me a friend like Pearl! 😂 Great read! 👍👍👍
😍 whew baby!!! Holland was that dude and that’s it!! The way that the author told this story of love between Oakley and Holland jumped off the pages. I would definitely recommend this author ❤️❤️
That was a super dope novella. The perfect making of an instalove romance complete with sex, great sex, trauma, tension and my favorite, love. I hope we get more of Oakley and Holland… maybe with a story with Pearl and they appear. Either way, you did this!
Rating 3.5⭐️ This story said “forced proximity” and then cranked the tension all the way up. Two strangers, one room, a storm raging outside, big ass egos and nowhere to hide from themselves or each other. What starts as survival mode slowly turns into connection and watching that shift felt equal parts intimate and unsettling in the best way.
The twists caught me off guard, especially how quickly feelings escalated. That close quarters pressure, mixed with vulnerability and chemistry, had emotions moving faster than logic. When those “I love yous” dropped I literally froze. Shocked but not mad at it. It felt reckless, impulsive and very human. I really wanted to blame it on the alcohol.
What really worked was how neither of them was clean or uncomplicated. Secrets came out swinging and the question wasn’t just can they love each other but can they accept the parts each of them is trying to escape. Facing your own demons is hard. Facing someone else’s is a whole different test.
Holland 😒 yeah that man learned a hard lesson. Playing in the snow always looks fun until you realize how cold it really is. DANGEROUS! This was messy, intense, unexpected and addictive. The kind of story that locks you in right along with them and doesn’t let you out untouched.

Well Mrs. Cherish has done it again gave us a nail biting, sitting on the edge of your seat drama filled story. This was actually a novella, but she packed a lot in those 56 pages. I love it when a novella gives you a beginning, middle, and end--a complete story.
Holland did not come to play any games, in other words he was all man. Once his feelings got caught up in Oakley he was her "ride or die." Oakley needed him in her life because the ground zero that was already there was exactly that zero. He was not adding anything of substance to her life. Pearl is that rare gem that all women need in their life. Oakley struck gold when they became friends.
This is a magnificent read, you should download and be entertained. You will not be disappointed. It gives you all of the feels like all of Mrs. Cherish masterpieces. I am low key hoping these two make a cameo in an upcoming release, I would love more of them.
Holland and Oakley are put together by fate, but attraction keeps them together. Cherish gave us so much heat, emotions, and suspense in this short read, but managed to make it feel like a full novel! Holland makes you wanna knock him out and straddle his lap at the same time. Oakley was a strong woman who knew she deserved better and I loved that. I need to know more about Ms. Pearl though…gangsta! Locked Away With You, another win!!
I love me some Holland and Oakley had me wanting to lay hands on her but she got it together in the end!! And babyyyyyyy can I get stuck in a room with a sexy man like him😋😩 … what both of them went through was sad one because you can’t let go so you go the extra mile just to hurt that person and 2) you cheating but don’t want to let the other person go!! Glad they both got what came to them!! And at the end Holland said I got you and he did I love me some Oakley and Holland!!!
I don't mind insta-love stories, but this one didn't do it for me. Holland and Oakley were both a bit on the hostile side. I would not have been sharing a room with him because she had every right to question his motives. She didn't know him from a can of peas!🙄 And if he was offering, he could have been a bit nicer to put her at ease. Holland's backstory was interesting, however, I wish it been fleshed out a bit more. And Oakley had an interesting reason for fleeing the way she did too, but not enough focus on that.
The plot was a nice idea for a novella. However, the descriptive storytelling was lacking. Not enough details were offered to convey how attractive the characters were to each other. It was difficult for me to visualize several scenes in the story. I replayed the elevator scene because it was a glass elevator that allowed you to see the outside storm…and there was sexual activity inside this elevator. This was my first read by this author. Not sure if it was her first writing, but there is potential.
This novella is too good to be over so quickly. I'm impressed with the character development in such a short amount of time. I'm a firm believer that love doesn't take months and years to develop and blossom. More often than not, Oakley and Holland's story is closer to the truth. I would love to see their love continue to grow, but this author didn't leave any unfinished business with these two.
Holland and Oakley, strangers. Both hiding secrets and on the run. Add a severe slow moving storm and the last available hotel room in town and you have a perfect recipe for raw sex, tempers flaring and love.
Every time Holland said, Talk your shit, Oak, I loved it! lol
Locked Away With You, is a quick read filled with emotions and drama. I enjoyed Holland and Oakley, and you will too.
I absolutely love this writer works. She will give you a sexy romance with the right dose of drama and suspense. The pairing of Oakley and Holland was genius especially as the truth was uncovered. Holland is a man's man, definitely bae. While this was a short story it still gave us a lot to ponder and reflect. Well done.
Whew where to begin! This short storyline was amazing and straight to the point.. the author grab my attention and I couldn’t put it down..The way the two met and found a happy ending was just touching.. I want to be locked away with a Holland.. if you’re looking for something short but very well written this is it!
If you like short stories straight to the point, read Holland and Oakley story. These two met at the most random time, during a hurricane. Each having their own issues and flaws. A quick love that developed after meeting and being stranded together. I really enjoyed this novella and would greatly recommend.
Weathering the storm, caused complete strangers to come together and find love. Although, they didn't know anything about each other, the chemistry between them, couldn't be denied. But after the storm truths were told and things came to light. The ending I saw they actually weathered the storm after all.
Wow, as an avid reader of romance novels, I can definitely appreciate the different direction of this novel. It definitely was not the typical urban romance. It was a nice changed from the norm and well appreciated. Kudos to the author for taking a risk and giving us something different.
Even with the title, I had no idea what to expect from chapter to chapter with this page turner! But what I got, left me rooting for Holland and Oakley with each interaction they shared! This was a good, suspenseful, quick read!
Locked away with you was a unique meeting between 2 people with baggage needing immediate escape. What flowed from them taking solace in each other made a beautiful love story!
Great story. So glad Holland was cleared and Oakley got the man she truly deserved. Pearl I feel is something else with herself everyone needs a friend like her lol!!!
The story did not occur as I thought. And that is a good thing. The storyline was so unexpected and so much fun. The abuse part was minimal, as the focus was a new day for Oakley and Holland.
Nice!!!! I wasn’t sure how of what was happening until it happened. Oakley and Holland stick in a hurricane was “Stella getting her groove back goals”. LOL They both deserved a rainbow at the end of their storm. Nice, easy, steamy read.
This was a really good story. Oakley was hiding from something but so was Holland. It's funny they found true love in all of it. I didn't like how Oakley tried to play him at first. I'm so glad they found each other I need more from them though.
Who would've known two individuals finding runaway love ...... Living two separate lives and worlds collide... Holland was hood and corporate while Oakley was spoiled and boujee... All it ever takes is the Right Man...
Holland and Oakley were both running from things in their lives and landed in the same place. Due to the storm Holland took the last room so when Oakley needed a place to stay, Holland offered and Holland and Oakley got more than they bargained for. Starting to catch feelings, Oakley and Holland are finally faced with their lives catching up to them. Being away from each other, they fix their past lives and start anew. This was a quick read, but it was touching. Two people who were in the worst possible situations find each other and fall in love. I was so excited that they both found what they were looking for in each other. Love shows up when you at least expect it and with Holland and Oakley they were ready. I wanted more of this story, but I think it was more than enough. Cherish, I loved it!!!!
This was a excellent read everything was well written I’m happy for Holland and Oakley they both was dealt a bad hand but they found love within each other Cherish you have done it again 😍
There were parts to it that were all right but overall, it just didn't hit for me. There wasn't much character development and it just seemed rushed and forced, in my opinion; even disjointed in some areas.
A fascinating short story that read like a complete full length novel. Imagine 2 strangers on the run meeting during a stormy night, the last available hotel room...you get where I'm going with these interesting ingredients?!
