It’s a wonderful life… The life of an influencer. 125K Instagram followers. A coveted brand deal with a major fashion line and a tax-deductible trip to England. Until a terrible misfortune happened to me at Stonehenge. I dropped my phone. Cracked my screen. My phone? Dead. My brand deal deadline? Waiting…
I wander into a creepy gift shop run by a sultry clerk named Morgaine le Fey. She fixes my phone and leaves me with a nasty surprise. A trip to a dark and dank age. No electricity or indoor plumbing. Bloodthirsty mobs and horror of horrors… No WiFi.
But a foxy wizard named Merlin acts as my guide, though I’m not sure if he wants to kiss me or kill me. Hot Merlin takes me to Camelot, home of King Arthur, his Knights of the Round Table, and a hotbed of spicy royal scandal. Armed with a tote bag full of modern gadgets, I land a job. My name is Laurel Kirby and this is how I became a royal influencer in King Arthur’s Court.
Teresa Yea is an awkward bean with a fondness for British period dramas and minimalism. In the grand scheme of romance novels, she likes dukes and viscounts, adorkable rom coms and spicy ebooks that blazes up her Kindle (you know the kind). She is obsessed with The Witch of Blackbird Pond, a book she has read over 15+ times and wrote about (lustfully) at her website teresayea.com
Freaking loved this one! Yea always writes smart, witty, and addicting! Being in Laurel’s head was the best because she was freaking hilarious. And don’t get me started on Merlin! Total swoon and a lot of his lines had me laughing out loud. I also was super into the Camelot/past setting! Loved it!
Loved this!! Such a fun book! It was a great escape from the “real world”. Laurel Kirby is the MC and being in her head is so funny!! Traveling back in time she befriends Merlin, who is young and yummy yummy!! This book is great fun, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a good plot with lots of laughs! Also don’t let the time travel theme scare you. I’m not crazy about reading time travel books, unless they done extremely well. But the time travel part of this book isn’t really a big deal at all. There’s no technical stuff, just laughs, great characters, and a sexy Merlin!!!
First of all, I began to read this book a little hesitant because of the time travel stuff, but once I began to read it I was completely hooked. The story began with Lauren and influencer that was 125K followers. She was in UK on a short vacation posting her videos and promoting products and services of her promoters. Everything was good until her phone fall and broke. Desperately she was looking for a fix and entered to a mystery store where she found Morgaine, the owner. While she was there she began to look around and saw a replica of the sword and stone where King Arthur removed the sword. Joking she removed the sword from the stone and made Morgaine very suspicious. She fixed her phone and installed 2 app and face filter and MorgVPN. What if you go to take pictures and fainted waking up in another era? How Lauren will survive in the Dark Ages? In her adventure she met a handsome man, the Merlin. She told him everything he needed to know about her time traveling and showed him his phone. By the way, just imagine a wizard with the powerful tool of internet and Wikipedia. The story is fun, you simply mix past and future and an influencer became theRoyal Influencer. Very funny story. I loved the characters and the plot. I can’t wait to read the next book Lauren and Merlin in the present time. Highly recommended.

The book follows Laurel Kirby, an influencer with goals and tunnel vision when it comes to expanding her brand. Hilarity ensues when she crosses time and crosses paths with The Merlin, King Arthur, and the Camelot lot.
I found myself laughing out loud and highlighting so many funny lines. Here are a few of my faves:
“Who knew Stonehenge had a Skid Row?” “I’m a hoe for pineapple.” “I'm wringing water from my dry-ass wheat hair.” “My side hustle selling wizard duel prints on Society 6.”
This is a fun read and if you’re into Arthurian legend and unlikely heroes, this is probably a book you’ll want to check out!
An influencer in King Arthur's court is something else and I am sure many agree with me. In this new series Teresa Yea manages to bring readers a fun fest. This book is perfect to brighten up your day and make you snicker & laugh. This book follows Laurel Kirby, an influencer on a trip to England, as she is thrown in a time travel adventure. I don't know if to say that the plot is either stupid entertaining or genius entertaining, the point is that I liked it.
I loved it! It is hysterical, full of gossip, some romance and wonderful characters. Really did not think I would like this story. I am not a big social media or youtube person but it is a great read. I did not want to put it down. If you are looking for a fun and light read, try this.

2024 Reads #577/250 2.5⭐️ I really wanted to like this. Unfortunately, I did not. Not only did it have a very, very annoying MFC, but all the characters were less than desirable. Cheating, bad taste, and lack of depth.

I guess I’m not as thrilled with this book because I’m not a social media type person. It sounds like a gossip column on steroids. It’s a cute concept, though. Just not for me.
