Believing Lies

Rate this book
Nick Walter is missing, and Kyle Davis blames himself.

He can't quite remember what happened that night and hates himself for it. There was a fight, of that he's sure. And there was blood- the same blood that's now drying on his hands. He stares at it, willing the memories to resurface, but they only return in faded flashes. He can't help but assume the worst.

Kyle goes through the stages of grief, convinced he's killed his best friend. Should he confess? He fears he's losing his sanity, and the hallucinations aren't helping. Little does Kyle know, sometimes the visions aren't just in his head. Desperate to be free of the guilt, Kyle needs to find out what really happened that night. Can he piece together his fragmented memories to discover the truth? Or will he only ever have to believe the lies?

So the longer I think about Believing Lies the more I am understanding it. So at first I felt like I was going crazy with the character because I literally had no idea what was going on. The famines to be seen until the end of the book where all the loose ends were tied up and now it’s making me me second guess myself on a lot. Just how well someone can manipulate one’s psyche and how damaging it can all be.
The concept was interesting and while I think some things with the writing style could be changed to make it all flow wells as well as correcting some plot and description that were one way during a chapter but different from another this would be a really compelling book. The flow was good because you were truly in the character’s mind and that just made it all the more interesting as I continued.
