A lovely debut novel by Stacy T. Simmons. I enjoyed the way both Faith and Caleb worked their way through painful, uncharted territory to find each other waiting on the other side. I so enjoy heartwarming, clean fiction I feel comfortable recommending to my mother or my daughters. I appreciated the glimpses of extended family that this story offers, as many novels leave that element out completely.

A quick read with a cozy coffee shop blend of indoor and outdoor adventures. I’m thankful this is the first in a series, as I’m now hooked on a town called Briar Creek.

: Debut author, Stacy Simmons, has found her niche as a sweet romance writer. She weaves in a fictional small town in North Carolina with a host of friends and family, creating a cozy setting for a irresistible romance. I enjoyed Faith's struggle to prove herself as a premier baker, as well as Caleb's fight to get over past hurts. This story will tug on your heart and put a happy smile on your face. Great debut!

A sweet romance between two wonderful characters who overcome pain to be together. I love the kayaking element because my daughter kayaks. And of course who doesn't love a coffee shop! You'll love Faith and Caleb, too! I'm excited to have this new series to begin.

As a mom of a precocious preschooler I do love books with them added in. This is one such book. I invite you to read this book and be swept away by a sweet romance. It’s not a cut and dry one as there are a few twists and turns to keep life interesting, but it really is a good one.

Oh and did I mention sweet?!

Sweet in more than one way as we get to hear about some yummy treats.

Caleb needs a manager for his coffee shop. He’s been hurt and had his heart shattered, plus he has an adorable little one. Enter Faith. She wants to prove to everyone that she can be a success. But she doesn’t want anything to do with Caleb.

Can these two work together to find success and possibly love? You’ll have to read to find out!

I really LOVE Christian Fiction Romance books. I was excited to be able to read A Promise for Faith by Stacy Simmons. Stacy Simmons is a Debut Author and this is Book 1 in the Briar Creek Love series.

Faith Fuller is a Chef/Baker who just lost her job. She sets out to find another job as soon as possible, as she wants to prove to her parents she can hold her own. Caleb Gaines is a Single Dad to a young boy and needs a manager to help run his Coffee Shop. He is aware that Faith is looking for employment and wants to offer her the job, but he also knows she wants nothing to do with him. Caleb and Faith used to be a couple years ago. They both have things to overcome to be able to not only have a Working relationship, but possibly a new chance at LOVE. Will Faith be able to accept the job, knowing it is perfect fit for her and her talents or will she let the past stand in her way? Will Faith and Caleb be able to overcome hurdles and challenges to have a working relationship and/or Romance?

I truly enjoyed this book, I was captivated from the first chapter. Faith is a STRONG woman who loves her independence. Losing her job made her even more determined to prove her independence. Caleb is a great man of character and he is a smart businessman and best of all a wonderful father to a young boy. I really LOVE how Faith and Caleb rely on their faith to make things work and Faith accepts the job. The Author does a wonderful job at slowly allowing the Romance to blossom. If you LOVE Clean Christian Romance, I HIGHLY Recommend this book. FANTASTIC BOOK!

Sometimes the past provides the perfect setting for a future ordained by God. Faith Fuller, fired from her job in New York, sets out to find a new path. That path winds up taking a turn towards Caleb, a man from the past. Needing a manager for his coffee shop, Caleb offers Faith the job. But taking that job means facing fears from the past for Faith, and moving forward for Caleb.

Truly, this story illustrates faith, love, hope, courage, and reconciling with her family for Faith. Caleb, a single dad of a preschooler, runs a successful outfitters business in addition to the coffee shop. The additional family members help bring the plot to life. I definitely loved the twists and turns this story took.

If you enjoy stories of faith, courage, and love, check out this book for yourself.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.

If you are looking for a clean romance I highly recommend this book. It has the perfect balance of romance with sprinkles of lessons on forgiveness, trust, new beginnings and overcoming fear. The story flows with ease as the author develops the characters nicely. I loved the addition of a young boy who stole my heart. I also have to mention how breathtaking the cover of the book is. It is perfect for this story.

Faith may be a great chef but her boss thinks she can do without her and let’s her go. I know that things happen for a reason and I couldn’t wait to see where the author would take Faith. I like how the author brings Faith to a small town where she encounters family and new friends. It is hard to accept when you fail at something and this is what Faith struggles with. I could sense her doubting herself and starting to feel hopeless.

Caleb is one of those characters you just instantly like. I like how he comes to Faith’s aide and offers her a job at his coffee shop. It may not be the job she wanted, but it will help her get back on her feet. The interaction between Caleb and his son is heartwarming. I loved the part about their bedtime routine. Don’t miss this part because it shows how important it is to spend quality time with your child. Even though they have experienced a loss, Caleb and his son have a strong and loving relationship.

The book is easy to read and has a nice faith element that stays throughout the story. I enjoyed following Faith on her journey as she opened her heart to not only romance but seeing her dreams come true. There is a strong take away from the book about God’s love and His promise to give us the desires of our hearts.

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

I love the cover. It. gives the perfect feeling for this contemporary romance. And you can’t really go wrong with a story that involves a baker, though this particular one starts the story with a bit of a problem. Throw in a single dad and a cute kid, and you’ve got all the right ingredients for an enjoyable story. Facing fears, both physical and emotional, is a key theme of the story, but the tone never veers too far into the heaviness of the fears the characters deal with which makes the story an easier read.

I enjoyed the story, though, to me, there were a few plot elements that seemed a bit rushed to their conclusion. I would like to have seen a little more wrestling with the issues before the characters embrace the answers to their problems.

A Promise for Faith is an enjoyable debut novel. It’s a fairly quick read that is as sweet as the recipes Faith whips up in the kitchen. I give it three stars. I received an ARC of this book through Celebrate Lit. The review and opinions are my own.

A Promise for Faith is book one in the Briar Creek Love series that is written by Stacy T. Simmons. This is a well written sweet contemporary romance book that was easy to read. Faith and Caleb are likeable and relatable characters. Faith wants to be successful and prove to her parents. However, the only job she can find is a manager of the coffee shop that is owned by Caleb.

Caleb is Faith's ex boyfriend. He is now a single dad of a kindergartener. Both have baggage and hurt. He knows that Faith needs a job to start over and get back on her feet. Faith is a talented chef, and is thankful for the opportunity,

I am excited to see more from this author. I love when I get to read author's debut books. The author has created a easy to read enjoyable story. I received a copy of this book through the Celebrate Lit Blogging Program, all thoughts are my own.

A Promise for Faith is a delightful, sweet read that harkens the beloved plot lines of many romance readers’ favorite television channel. It had all the right elements for an easy and relaxing read for an evening by the fire with a cup of tea or on the back porch with a tall glass of lemonade. This is also the first story I have read by Stacy T. Simmons.
I found this story a little slow to start and some of the characters were difficult to read through. Not that they were terrible but maybe just a bit–choppy. I understand what the author was trying to show the reader, but the way it was written made the characters seem a little rude. That said, the further I read, the more everything came together. It became more clear that the characters were just trying to hide the parts of themselves that they didn’t want others to see…yet.
A big shout out to the little man in the story – Jack. He is such a darling. I wanted to be that auntie who pinched his cheeks and left lipstick marks on his forehead. The way Ms. Simmons wrote him was heartwarming and his speech pattern is perfect for a three-year-old. He can come to Aunt Missa’s any time and we will make cookies.
Even though I didn’t find this to be a riveting read, it was pleasant for some quiet time.

This was a really good read. I think the author wrote a touching story that is a second chance romance. It wasn't a huge in depth romance, but more of sweet one. I really liked Caleb. He is a great character. Faith was a touching character as well.

The author did a good job with the story and how it unfolds. The characters have their own pasts and issues to work through and I liked how that all worked out. This really is a sweet romance read that just makes you feel good and happy.

4/5

I was looking for my next Christian Romance novel and came upon A Promise for Faith by Stacy Simmons. I am so glad I did; it turned out to be a great story.

Initially, I was drawn to the story by the cover design, which depicted a couple gearing up for an exciting adventure with what appeared to be a romantic balloon outing. I was pleasantly pleased to read about that adventure in full detail as the story unfolded. However, the story did not start out with love in the air. Instead, the author began by introducing Faith Fuller and Caleb Gaines, who were far from perfect and not exactly looking for love. Faith, an out-of-work chef, and Caleb, a successful river outfitter, faced life with uncertain futures. Both had experienced heartbreak and tragedy and were just trying to make their way in life.

The author did a great job of letting the romance unfold naturally. I appreciated how she allowed the characters the opportunity to become friends before diving headfirst into a relationship especially given their struggles. The book was an easy read with some exciting twists and turns that kept the story interesting.

If you are interested in reading books that fall under Contemporary Christian Romance, you will want to check out A Promise for Faith. I give it 5 out of 5 stars.

faith over fear

It is always great when I discover another author that I like. I can’t wait to read about some of the other characters. Faith knew that she needed God to help her overcome her fears, and He knew who to send to help her. Very good!

A Promise for Faith starts off debut author Stacy T Simmons’ series, Briar Creek Love. I thought it was pretty good read. I loved getting to know Faith and Caleb. I found they were relatable characters that I was easily able to connect with. Their story deals with some real life issues that made it easy to do so. It was a wonderful way to show the life lessons of letting of the past, moving on and taking chances.

I am giving A Promise for Faith four and a half stars. I recommend it for readers who enjoy reading clean romance. I look forward to the next installment from the Briar Creek Love series to see what happens next.

I received a digital copy of A Promise for Faith from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

Simmons brings the sugar and cinnamon toppings to this small-town romance. She crafts characters who are afraid to love but find that love can heal past hurts.

After losing her job, Faith heads to Briar Creek to visit a friend. She doesn't expect to meet her ex-boyfriend with a kindergarten son in tow.

Caleb is a successful businessman, but he is still wounded by the loss of his wife.

Throw in the cutest boy who every time he says "Love you, Fay" my heart melted, and you have a delightful, easy read.

I would have liked more on how and why Faith and Caleb ended their prior relationship. I did enjoy Faith branching into Caleb's outdoorsy world and mending fences with the family of Caleb's late wife. Another heart tug.
Small-town romance readers will eat this up.

The perfect light-hearted "beach" read, or curl-up-by-the-fire read, or road-trip read. This sweet love story tells the tale of Faith and Caleb, who get a second chance to make a life together. Small-town vibes combine with an adorable little boy who steals the show. You'll cheer Faith and Caleb on as they struggle to forget the past and move forward into the life God has planned for them. Enjoy!

Stacy T. Simmons’ delightful debut, A Promise for Faith is a feel-good, warm-hug story, nestled in the town of Briar Creek, North Carolina. It’s a sweet second chance romance between Faith Fuller and single father, Caleb Gaines. Faith’s desire to prove herself and overcome her fears means surrendering to accept a job from the one person she would rather avoid. But love has bigger things in mind and Faith discovers more about herself and the man she left behind. Caleb blooms as a business owner and a father, finding the feelings for Faith still reside in his heart. A wonderful story that reawakens the happily ever after and delight of falling in love that every romance requires.

Hugely disappointed. It breaks my heart, but I cannot be enthusiastic about this book.
I kept reading, hoping something would change and make the story more appealing. I found myself rather amused counting how many times I ended up rolling my eyes at the vocabulary (e.g., Faith was always 'giggling'), situations (disconnected and jumpy), or dialogue (broken, unconvincing) in this book. So, there's the silver lining, I guess. I appreciate that it is a clean novel and has some sort of faith element in it; it definitely is worthy a few stars.
And I do not think I wasted my time reading this book, but I am relieved to part ways with it.

I enjoyed this fun, flirty romance. Faith and Caleb offer one of my favorite tropes: second chance romance, and their banter drew me into their story. Neither really wants to fall in love, and Caleb is adamant that he'll keep his heart to himself, except when it comes to his son Jack. Speaking of Jack, he was such a cute character for this story. I loved his mannerisms and cuteness. A Promise for Faith is brought to life with small-town charm and lovable characters who make you root for them even when they're acting bratty. The element of faith threads smoothly through the story and draws the characters together. I can't wait to read more of this series. I received a copy of this book through Celebrate Lit. A Promise for Faith, the debut novel by Stacy T. Simmons, is a sweet Christian Romance. It brings together two hurting hearts, Faith and Caleb, into a fun, quick read that touches on topics in many new and rekindled relationships. I especially liked Simmons’ characterization of little Jack, the possibility of more to come from other characters in the future, and the touching, romantic end.

This sweet romance is set in Briar Creek, North Carolina. When Faith is fired from her job as a test kitchen baker, she decides to take a breather and visit her best friend. She was not expecting a job opportunity or to see her former college boyfriend. What does God have planned? She needs to live up to her name and have a little faith to find out.

The characters in this book have had some tough circumstances to overcome. Faith has fears that she needs to confront. Having faith in God is definitely an important part of the storyline.

This is a debut novel for Stacy T. Simmons. Overall I enjoyed the book. I would be willing to read more

I enjoyed this sweet small town second chance romance novel. The main characters had some past hurts to work through, but they did it in a respectful way and didn't act immature or overly dramatic.

There were a few times I was confused by transitions that were a little abrupt, but it wasn't enough of a bother to stop reading. Overall, I think this book was great, and I look forward to reading more from Stacy T. Simmons in the future.
