This was a fun novella featuring a city girl, a country boy, and a ten-foot Christmas tree.

Struggling with the family dynamic after the loss of her father four years ago, Megan begrudgingly accepts the task of bringing home the perfect tree before the holidays. Little does she know, she's not the only one in need. A local to the small town of Crystal Cove, Nick is desperate to track down the stranger with his tree, needing it for the upcoming charity benefit hosted by the mayor.

Filled with banter and a developing feud, I loved the direction this story took as both Megan and Nick grapple with career decisions. The heartfelt conversations of escaping your preplanned life and familial expectations to follow your dreams was lovely. College isn't the only option for success and I appreciate seeing that assumption challenged.

For such a short read, this romance developed in a manner that felt real. The ending made my heart so happy!

A pleasant romantic Christmas Story. Surprisingly well written. The alternate chapters written in the first person by the two main characters was a little confusing at first, but I grew to like this different approach.

A Tree for Christmas . . .

Procrastinating until Christmas is only 3 nights away, city girl Megan Campbell rushes out to pick up a Christmas tree, even though she never bought a live tree before. So she figures getting the biggest and best tree in the lot will distract her mom and stepdad from remembering she hasn’t visited them. In the meantime, Nick Bennington has also procrastinated about picking up the tree being saved for him weeks ago to be used for the charity event at the historic mayor’s mansion Christmas Eve. His mother, Mayor Bennington, had given him this task – and his tree is gone!

Sliding off the icy roads, Megan ends up in a ditch. Fortunately, Nick Bennington arrives to rescue her. But his focus seems to be the tree he wants to talk her into selling to him, telling her it was too big for her car to manage. But whether the tree is too big for the house or they have insufficient decorations for the huge tree and she forgot to get a tree stand, Megan would not let Nick talk her out of the tree. Would she eventually give up trying to get out of this mess? As they start helping each other, will it change the tension to something more friendly? How was Nick going to get his tree for the charity event?

Megan was a bit annoying with her attitude, but I could see where it was coming from. I think she and Nick were good for each other, and I loved the city vs country vibe. Grab your copy and see if they survive this Christmas situation and the struggle over “the” tree that both need to prove themselves.

Two souls not knowing what they want! This is about Nick and Megan. Megan lost her father recently and Christmas is not going to be the same as her mother remarried and now has a new family of well-educated and achieved stepsons and daughters. Well, the story is not much about the stepfamily but the insecurities and regret and these two individuals take. Megan is visiting the family as she promised her mother that she would go especially as she missed her mother's wedding. Nick is struggling to keep everything in control as he is supposed to be helping his mother out with the charity event at the Mayor's Mansion as he is the son of the mayor. Everything starts off for these two when Nick realizes that the ten-foot tree that the Sawyers were supposed to hold off for him was sold to Megan. He is informed of what she is driving and he decides to go after her to make her an offer. He finds her and the tree in the ditch as she skidded due to bad tires and the tree fell off because the Sawyers did not tie it down properly.

The story has funny moments along with sad ones as the Mayor is fighting cancer. These two help each other out in crazy ways until the end when they go their separate ways. It does end happily for both, but there was something missing from this that I cannot put my finger on, overall I enjoyed the characters and storyline, but I think I wanted a little more.

This book is a sweet small town boy/city girl Christmas romance. The characters were a lot of fun to read about. Even the supporting characters were interesting. The ending is beautiful and wraps up the story wonderfully even if I would still read more about this couple.

Megan is a city girl comes to the small town of Crystal Cove to spend the holidays with her mom and new stepdad. Nick is the son of the town’s mayor. They each are in need of a tree for their own reasons but Megan gets the tree first. It’s a bit too big for her car and send her off the road. Nick is there to help her out. Friendly…. Or with an ulterior motive?

These two are so sweet as they get to know each other spend time together. They don’t always see eye to eye which just adds to their story. No one gets along all of the time! The ending to their story was beautiful! I loved how it wrapped things up and where it left these two going into the New Year. I would definitely recommend reading this sweet Christmas romance.

This was a very cute romance, hallmark-style novella! It involved a small town guy and a big city girl who collide all because of a Christmas tree - three nights before Christmas! Talk about last minute!

When Meghan, a big city girl, heads back to Crystal Cove three days before Christmas to spend time with her mom and new stepdad, she stops at a local tree lot and picks up the biggest and best tree possible for them.

Nick Bennington, a small town guy, and the Mayor’s son, also needs to pick up a Christmas tree three days before Christmas for a charity event at the Mayor’s Mansion. The one saved for him at the same local tree lot that he should have picked up weeks ago, is now in the hands of Meghan.

After Meghan leaves the tree lot, her car (and beautiful tree) slip off the icy road and into a ditch. Coincidentally, Nick, the rescuer, with ulterior motives, quickly arrives to save her. Meghan becomes suspicious when he tries very hard to take the pesky tree off her hands.

Falling for the small town guy is not part of her holiday plans… but for Nick, stumbling upon this big city girl might be just the wake-up call he needs!

It all started with a Christmas tree.

When Megan is tasked to bring the Christmas tree to her mom's new home she goes big and that means she buys a tree so big that when it's not secured right on the top of her car it makes her drive off the road.

Nick is responsible for this year mayor's Christmas party, since his mother is the mayor. When he doesn't pick up the tree for the party on time, it is sold and he is determined to get it back.

They form a partnership which begins tentative and reluctant but soon enough they see that they can't deny their chemistry and decide to take the next step forward.

This was a very fun and quick novella. Filled with holiday feels and perfect to read this month.

This book started off cute and lovely but then it slowly turned into a mess and made me cringe. The idea was nice, only the execution lacked quite a bit. Wouldn't necessarily recommend this, only if you're looking for a quick Christmas read maybe.

cute holiday filler

Cute, short and sweet holiday filler. Wasn’t overly dramatic and I liked that it showed two characters that were both simply trying to figure out life. Was trying to finish it within the 2025 year but nice easy start to the new year.

Like watching a Hallmark movie

This was an adorable holiday romance story that takes place in a small town with a big-city girl just visiting for a few days. However that's all it takes for our two main characters to develop an attraction to one another. I loved that they were both struggling to find themselves and deal with the "where is life taking you" decisions. They end up helping each other and neither really realizing that they were doing so. The romance is this story is very sweet and kept at a PG level. It has a HEA ending, or at least a happy for now as they are just beginning their journey together.

This was so refreshing to read.
Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of Christmas romances because they are almost too cheesy for me, but when I read the synopsis, I knew I had to give this a chance. I was immediately interested and started it right away.

Nick is carrying around the weight of family obligations which is keeping him in his hometown, while Megan has moved into the city to pursue her passions. She is back home for Christmas and meets Nick in an interesting plot twist. I loved the development of their relationship and the tension between them at times. They both grew throughout the storyline and I just really liked both characters as individuals. Their relationship didn’t feel forced and I really enjoyed the escape from reality for a couple of hours. I’d highly recommend reading this if you’re looking for a feel good, short & sweet cute read.
I loved it!

This is a magical Holiday Book and it is Megan and Nick's story. I absolutely loved the way Megan and Nick meet and even though they have a strong attraction to each other things don't always go as planned. The storyline had such a beautiful flow to it and it pulled you in right from the start and I couldn't put this book down and I loved how the characters grow through the story. Christmas is a magical time and anything can happen but will it happen to Megan and Nick only time will tell. I definitely recommend you read this book and you will not be disappointed as it is so well written and definitely worth reading.

This is a short but utterly delightful Christmas romance. It is witty, charming, and sometimes poignant. Megan and Nick meet by accident, both of them having family issues and career uncertainties, but they help each other find the courage to live life, and love. True Christmas magic.

Megan has Nick's tree, and she's not giving it up. She does help him out of his bind. He's been unhappy with small-town life, and feels his career is stalled in the family business. She's unhappy with family changes and expectations. They find themselves falling for each other in just the few short days they spend together around the holiday. This book reminds me of a Hallmark Christmas movie, with the city vs. country banter between Megan and Nick. This is my first read from this author, and I truly enjoyed her book. This book was okay. It was super rushed. Lots of common tropes. Didn’t love either of the MCs. SPOILER ALERT but the whole thing is about Megan not knowing what she wants out of life and trying and trying to figure it out and then in one paragraph her problems are solved. “One week later my life changed. I was handed the job I wanted on a silver platter. Next topic.” It was a lame ending. I was entertained but overall not amazing.

3.5 stars really.

This was a quick and easy read. The story was good, although a lot of back and forth between the two characters that got a bit annoying at times. The grammar and spelling in a few places needed to be caught, but overall, not a bad read.

I really enjoyed this book. The story was well thought out and the history provided us all that is important to feel part of it. The relationship between Nick and Megan is complicated to say the least. I really enjoyed reading it and couldn’t flipped the pages fast enough to know more. OMG Christmas Tree Stars 🎄🎄🌟🌟!!! What a fun, cute, wholesome and delightful holiday rom-com!! The perfect read to snuggle in a blanket by the fire with a hot chocolate in hand!! I just love all my Christmas books that leave me feeling all cozy and warm fuzzy inside!! The story has your city girl meets small town country boy trope filled witty banter, tension, undeniable chemistry, closed door romance, holiday traditions and a ten foot Christmas tree!! Is this a cheesy Hallmark romance? Yes, but it is so much more! This is about family, love, loss, kindness, finding yourself, making life decisions and and having the courage to follow your dreams. I absolutely adored this book so much!!

Three days before Christmas, Meghan is driving back to the tiny town of Crystal Cove to spend time with her mom and her mom's new husband. Reluctantly, she agrees to pick up a Christmas tree on her way there despite being a city girl who's never bought a real living tree. Meanwhile, Nick, the mayor's son, has procrastinated picking up the tree that has been saved for the historic mayor's mansion charity event.
Because he never came to collect the tree, it was sold to Meghan. Now the biggest and best tree in the lot is gone! Determined to redeem himself, Nick is desperate to convince the stranger to sell the tree to him. Is he able to persuade her? They end up spending time working together over the holidays but will they see eye to eye? The banter and chemistry between these two had me swooning!! Will they fight their attraction for each other and go separate ways or will it turn into something more??

Overall, it is a sweet and charming little holiday novella that will put you in the Christmasy spirit!! I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
