The picture painted of the 1970s India was quite captivating, but the author failed to make an articulate argument in any chapter. It felt like reading a script to a movie than an analysis linking Indira Gandhi to India’a darkest era of its “democracy”.

Though this gives lot of infirmation before and after emergency but somehow i didnt like the way it is written. I found it haphazard.
Had various seperate issues been covered with proper headlines then perhaps it could have been more interesting.
