I never wanted to come here. The scholarship to Hawthorne University is my ticket to a better life, but I don’t fit in with these rich, privileged students.
I’m the daughter of a drug addict. A girl with a half-remembered past. A foster kid who’s seen too much of the wrong side of humanity. My tattoos are my battle scars, and my heart beats for no one.
Until I meet them.
Gray, Declan, and Elias.
The Sinners.
They run this school, and one day, they’ll run this whole city. They snap their fingers, and the world falls at their feet. They breathe a word, and that word becomes law.
I’ve been numb my whole life, but when they touch me, sparks dance across my skin. For the first time in years, I feel. I feel so much.
Confusion. Desire. Anger. Need.
Too bad there’s only one thing the Sinners feel for me.
Hate.
This is omnibus contains the complete Sinners of Hawthorne University series, a new adult enemies to lovers romance. It contains violence, dark subject matter, and high steam.
Eva Ashwood has been a reader her whole life and a writer for several years. She loves telling stories of alpha males and the fierce women who bring them to their knees.
She's a sucker for reverse harem, bully romance, enemies to lovers, heroes who redeem themselves, and all the drama and passion of new adult love.
Excellent RH Bully romance! Lots of twists, sexual tension, angst, mystery and good steamy scenes. I loved Sophie’s strength, feistiness and girl power attitude. Try to embarrass or shame her for her being a product of abuse and the foster system? Nope. She will flaunt her tattooed body and prove she’s worth a thousand of you. The guys...I liked Gray, Declan and Elias. As powerful and popular they are, they are also protective, uniquely talented and loyal. Very entertaining story and I devoured the pages. Lots of unexpected twists that I didn’t see coming.
My review for all three books: This series had a lot of potential but for me never seemed to really live up to what it could be. It felt very drawn out and didn't seem like it needed to be three books. Which maybe that's just me since I'm still not a big fan of cliffhangers and trilogies in general, though I do read them now. There was just a lot that felt like nothing more than filler and not needed.
And yet through three books I never truly saw a good connection between Sophie and the men. Her biggest connection was with Grey but he was such a closed off jerk that even that was hard to actually get on board with them. And then the others were barely with her which was odd. We kept hearing about how she and Declan would have little smoke breaks together and they'd talk but we never saw that.
The twists didn't intrigue me much either and by the time I got most of the second book finished I just wasn't interested in the story all that much. Overall, I think this just wasn't a story for me but I'd still give the author another try.
This new box set from Eva Ashwood is amazing with so many dark twists. I love this new world she is engulfing us in. Sophie has led a hard life bouncing from home to home in foster care and unfortunately she has suffered from tragedy along the way. This has made her strong and feisty, both qualities that are going to help her survive Hawthorn University. She is bullied from the first second she steps onto campus, but she stays strong and fights back at every turn. She is pursued relentlessly by almost the entire campus. The abuse is brutal; however, she holds her head up high and fights back like a warrior. This book is fast paced and exciting. It was a very enjoyable read. I could not put it down until I was finished. The twists and turns are not predictable. The cliffhanger is shocking and out of left field. I was shocked. I couldn’t wait for the next book to find out what happened. This author never disappoints with her tremendous talent and this box set is amazing!
How Sinners Fight
Oh my goodness what a wild ride this book was! Eva Ashwood has delivered another action packed, intriguing and steamy installment to her Sinners of Hawthorne University series box set. Relationships between Sophie and her guys are formed and strengthened during this book. This book was a wild ride full of surprising twists and turns with a surprise ending. I highly recommend this book.
What Sinners Love
What an amazing conclusion to this dark and gritty series. I absolutely loved this book. I was gripped from the first page and could not stop reading until that amazing ending. This story was dark, intense, suspenseful, shocking and oh so steamy. This book and series is an absolute must read with wonderful characters and a fast-paced, action-packed plot. Five amazing stars, you need to read this box set today!!!!
Despite not really being a fan of New Adult or Bully romance I decided to give this one a try after seeing a snippet on Book Tok. I know, I know... I wanted to broaden my horizons and this was rated so highly and the snippet sounded so delicious. I rated it a middle-of-the-road three stars because despite it not being my cup of tea (since I couldn't even finish it).
Honestly, I'm surprised I made it as far as I did, which says a lot for the author's ability to write. I hate first-person writing, in general, but this wasn't too bad, probably because there's so little dialogue, just Sophie's passive story-telling. I much prefer to be shown/experience the story rather that being told what is happening. I'm at 80% (so the first two books and the beginning of the third), so close, yet so far, but I just can't go on, I'm not enjoying any aspect of this book at this point.
In the first book, I was hoping for a little better reason for the bullying, it felt pithy to me for the antagonism that was exhibited and Gray didn't redeem himself in any real significant way for it. It just feels like an abusive relationship to me. Declan and Elias are clearly playing second-fiddle to him and I don't really get it. I wish the characters had been fleshed out, but the characters have almost no personality; the guys are hot and rich, one plays football, one used to play football, and one is a closeted musician and that's about it. I can't connect with anyone.
The sex is pretty decent when taken out of context, but as someone who is more demi I needed the characters to connect in more than just a physical way to really enjoy the story and would make an okay work of erotic fiction if you stripped all the superfluous "plot" but there's no other chemistry between anyone to engage the reader.
This is the third series I have read from miss Eva Ashwood (completed Clearwater U but didn't finish the last book in Slateview High) and so far, it's the one I liked the most! I'm relieved that the 'animosity' between the Sinners and Sophie didn't last long and there was a pretty... valid (just a little bit) reason behind it.
I liked the dynamic between the three Sinners and it was refreshing to see some brief friction but I guess the reason that this wasn't a 5 star read for me was that it felt like there was a 'primary guy' in the harem, and felt kind of lacking when it came to the connection with the other two guys.
The plot was interesting and it was really hard to predict at times but I think the books—especially the first two—are definitely focused more on the building of the romantic relationships rather than the plot because when I reached the last book, I was overwhelmed by the introduction of so much new information and the events happened quite fast.
Nevertheless, this was still a very enjoyable read and the steamy scenes were super spicy! 🥵
Sinners of Hawthorne University is a complete boxed set, and contains 3 full length books in it. The books follow Sophie, Gray, Declan, and Elias. Without giving away any spoilers, I loved this series! Sophie and the guys come from different backgrounds, and end up meeting at college! I personally would consider this to be a bully romance but I’m sure others would consider it to be an enemies to lovers romance as well. I am a fan of the way Eva wrote Sophie! She’s gone through things she shouldn’t have to in her young age, but she ultimately overcomes adversity. Gray, Declan, and Elias all bring something different to the table when it comes to Sophie. I couldn’t even tell you who my favorite is! All I know is Gray may have been valid in his resentment towards Sophie, but I am SO GLAD Eva found a way to flip the script to bring these two together. Things happen in this book that have your jaw dropping, but it ultimately has an HEA and I was a huge fan! I would suggest picking this book up if you’re looking for a solid Reverse Harem romance, this book could be the one for you!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Eva Ashwood has done it again! I absolutely love her books as they always capture my attention straight away, have great plots and characters and have me guessing what’s going to happen right to the end! Somehow I missed this series whilst in my rabbit hole of Eva’s work but what a nice surprise it was!
I absolutely loved Sophie, she’s been through a lot growing up and I can’t even imagine not being able to remember such huge periods of time from childhood.
Gray, Declan and Elias are complex guys that make it clear quickly Sophie isn’t welcome at their university. This series had the perfect balance of enemies to lovers, it didn’t drag on unnecessarily, the tension was perfect and I loved her individual relationships with the guys. I did miss getting the guys POV in this series but I think this is because it’s an older one as Eva certainly does that with her new series.
Another great read and now I’m secretly hoping there’s something else I’ve missed as I love her work!
Such an amazing boxset! Sophie is a strong FMC and doesn't allow anything to hold her back despite the serious trauma/amnesia she's been through. Each book has it's own set of twists and turns that are so intriguing it was hard not to read the entire boxset through in one sitting.
Sophie's growth throughout the series with learning to trust people and how she confronts her past is amazing. I loved seeing Sophie's men put in their place by her and watching them also grow into worthy love interest for such an amazing FMC. And the spice 🤩🙌While the cliffhangers of each book still stung a bit, they weren't quite so devastating having the entire series in one place and the overall ending was SO satisfying.
Another amazing series by Eva Ashwood. If you are looking for something with great character growth, twists you won't see coming, and sexy men who get put in their place as needed I would definitely recommend this boxset!
Sinners of Hawthorne University is the complete Sinners Series. It’s got everything you could possibly want and probably even some you don’t. There are some bad things that happen to Sophie as a child and as a teenager. Her childhood is wrecked and when you find out why…well I for one wanted to throw up. It’s beyond messed up. But the sad thing is…it happens. The things in this book really happen to the children of this messed up world with messed up people who think they are better and are owed something in life. I felt Eva really drew from how messed up this world can be and she did an amazing job building an interesting read out of it. Not to mention the sinners with Sophie. Holly hotcakes that’s another story all together. So hot and steamy. Sometimes it was to much to take all at once. Sophie knows how to rile up her guys. And man they can rile her up. It’s…hot…for lack of a better word lol.
Having read Eva Ashwood’s Kings of Chaos, I had some pretty high expectations for this book and it did not disappoint. From the very beginning Eva drags you into Sophie’s world headfirst, stumbling and panting.
There is more to this book than just steam and romance, although there is a lot of that!! Definitely a 5/5 on the spiciness factor. But there is also mystery, drama, and intrigue. Why can’t Sophie remember her past? Who are the Sinner’s really? And can she trust them or will they just tear her apart!!
This is a first person, in-depth POV and it is one perspective. I like this unique look for a reverse harem because it allows there to be a sense of mystery surrounding each one of the Sinner’s. You are limited to What Sophie knows and that provides a more thrilling aspect to the book.
I can say now, this was anything but boring. It was an emotional rollercoaster and it kept me on edge throughout the whole thing. It was much more mysterious and dark than I thought it would be but i liked it. The main character is such a champ and a bad ass woman that takes no shit, I found her very realistic. The only flaw that didn't really set well with me was the sinners sudden change at the beginning of the story and the reasoning behind it. I mean, personally I don't think it's ok to act like an asshole and bully someone innocent just because they're hurting or grieving and I find it really hard to sympathize with that person because of that. So even if yes, Grey had issues and was in pain. I still, found it very unattractive and it just sorta left a bitter taste in my mouth. 4 stars, if not 3.5 but it just might be because I'm not not into ALL kind of assholes.
3.5 stars This whole series took me way too long to finish. I would have usually only needed like 2 days but it was just boring in some spots so I found myself distracted easily. It started off good but once you hit the second book there was too many unbelievable parts. Found myself disconnecting because of that. It became more about the mystery and drama than the group of them. I wanted more within the relationships. Feel like they didn’t reach duck potential. Also another thing that through me off was the sexual maturity of all of them and the way they said it went about things did not seem like the age matched up. It was all older sounding and I once again wasn’t feeling any of it. Just wasn’t for me. The 3.5 stars would have to be for the bits of the RH and the first book which held my attention straight through.
This is one of those books that stay with you. It's hard letting this story go! It's fast paced and full of everything one wants in a very steamy, enemies to lovers college romance. The Heroine falls in love with three guys and it makes sense that she would. The whole book flows flawlessly together and the writing is phenomenal! I Love Eva's writing anyway but this book, for me, is one of her best. If you're into this type of a read then go for it! There are scenes in it that are difficult but they're not overdone. What ended up happening is I fell in love with all these imperfect characters. It's got a great ending! It all comes together nicely and it's not an ending that leaves one questioning.
I loved that this series took place over an entire year. It let the story play out without feeling rushed. It really gave the characters a chance to evolve. Sophie's character has so many layers and secrets. Its so interesting to watch her past play out and all the memories she has forgotten come to light again. The three Sinners are complex as well although I don't think their characters evolve as much as Sophie. The relationships in this book are deep and ever changing. I really enjoyed how the group comes together and pushes past the obstacles in the way of their futures. Another phenomenal series from Ms Ashwood!
I have the trilogy on my kindle, finished the first but sad to say I will not finish the books. It starts off with so much promise and straight into excellent spice, chefs kiss to the spice in the first chapters. FMC just didn’t build for me, she started to strong but weakened. She didn’t sing strength, independence or self worth, MMC shows interest and she became a wet blanket and doesn’t even attempt to make him work. The “twists” just didn’t give “didn’t see that coming” they felt a little like ticking boxes and forced. Excellent spice Weak FMC when it comes to MMC Soft story, relationship building
Sophie is one bad bish. For everything that she has had to deal with in her life she was still able to hold her head up high and give zero Fs.. The Sinners are just that and they had their sights set on our girl but not everything is as it seems. There is so much drama, suspense, lies and sexy time… Hell yes the steam and spice factor is on point. Eva Ashwood writes her characters in such a way that makes you feel like you are right there with them and experiencing everything they are. This series is a must read and to have all three books together is a huge bonus!!
Yes yes YES!!! This series has turned out to be one of my favorites! Eva Ashwood knows what she is doing! Wow! This series has everything you would want! Not to mention the steam!!! It pulled me in from the first paragraph and didn't let go! I couldn't stop, I NEEDED to know what happened next! The mystery keeps you on the edge of your seat. The story pulls at your heart. After everything Sophie has been through, she deserves some peace. I fell in love with her and her men. Overall this was an excellent RH with high heat!!! 👏👏👏
I really liked Sophia and that she started off strong and continued that way throughout the entire series. She went through a lot but didn't let it totally tin her. The guys were all great and the connection they had with Soph as a group was sweet and protective but indivually theybeach brought something unique to her world. I really couldn't stand Cliff and felt he should have had something much worse done to him. In the end, after several bumps, lack of trust and communication, and near death experiences they got the HEA they deserved.
From beginning to the very end this was just truly amazing. Emotionally, heartbreaking at times, but still so good. I loved Sophie and her will to fight, she didn't let her traumatic past ( even though she didn't remember all of it) beat her. I definitely want to give a great report to the author for how well she wrote this series. Most Rh series I've read majority of the book is literally the s*x scenes. It would be good, but take away from the whole plot. Eva ashwood didn't do that, she kept thr focus and it turned out wonderful!!
All three Sinners books in one place so that cliffhanger at the end of books1 and 2 are sorted immediately. I loved Sophie, she was street wise but not too hard and jaded. It's a bully romance at the start and yes the guys are mean, but it was easy to forgive them, except Gray who took a while to get off my list lol. Steamy from the get go pretty much, with lots of twists and turns. Some events may be triggering so play attention the warnings
Y'all this series is amazing and a must read. We have enemies to lovers, a lot of twist and turns. The FMC is amazing and I love her. She is a tough chick by all accounts. The guys are your typical alpha male qualities. Except they are the bullies that can't seem to curb their attraction. So when things heat up, the fires blaze with no intention of being extinguished. This series is well written and fast burn so get ready you will love it.
Lots of surprises and challenges for Sophia’s young life, she is trying to remember thing from her passed and gets an opportunity to go to Hawthorne Uni which she reluctantly takes, then more trouble starts, things were bad enough before, living as a foster child in various care homes not knowing how she got there. Her reluctance going to Hawthorne she would be surrounded by stuck up privileged kids an she was a nobody. Great story, loved it.
*My review here is just on the final book, I reviewed the other two separately*
This was an awesome end to a great series. The plot twists in this book were really unexpected for me, and I found that to be really awesome. I loved the guys as well as Sophie and Max. What would have given it 5 stars was more group steamy scenes rather than just one on one all the time. Everything else was awesome
There is much about this book that I both love and want to love. But ultimately, it boils this... I dont see these relationships being feasible. Mainly because i find the main character to be selfish in every "aspect" of this book. I like to think of characters having a lifetime beyond the books, and i just can't see it. I can't see her keeping one man happy, let alone 3. Otherwise, they were good books and a decent read.
4/5 stars! such a great mix of sexiness, suspense, twists and turns and love I couldn’t put this book down, the whole series is a total gem and I’m glad I had the whole series as I couldn’t bare waiting to read the next as first two ended on cliffhangers. definitely an emotional, heartbreaking at times, but good story. i really enjoyed sophie and the boys gray, declan, and elias. they made for a very sexy and fun time. it's RH but with a plot which was nice.
I read all night. I could not put this book down. Wonderful characters.. The author keeps you on the edge of your seat. Her writing is clear and just keeps you wanting to know more. You will not be able to put these books down. Even wanting more if these characters even after you finish. Thank you Eva Ashwood. I was able to be swept away from my world for a good while. Better than a vacation.
This gets dark, then darker, then really dark before it gets better. It’s a journey with unexpected twists. There are the requisite bad guys, but you won’t predict who they are. I didn’t see how the story would be resolved, so I was hooked and barely slept until it was finished. I recommend the bonus scene available as a link at the end of the book.
Eva Ashwood never disappoints. I've read a couple of her series and they're all different and unique. Same with the characters. She makes each person and each story special in their own ways. Sinners takes you on a Rollercoaster ride in the best way. And the full circle moment ending...who she was with when she started and how she closes her story. Just so good.
This is the complete series about Sophie and her men. It is the second book I've picked up by Eva Ashwood and it won't be the last because I loved this one.
Sophie is a fierce girl that knows how to defend herself but with Gray, Declan and Elias things will not be as she thinks and well who could say no to the three sinners.
Not good, not bad, just alright I guess. Some of the scenes were overdone. Then there were a lot of situations that should have had a scene but didn’t. There were several times I felt like the author didn’t do any research to make that part of the story realistic. Starting out, the sex seemed like it would be good, but quickly became redundant and boring.
