The series ends with Book 5 - Ravaged by the Mafia. Each book can be read as a standalone or enjoyed as part of the series.Contains intense scenes that may trigger some readers including firm discipline and humiliating punishment. Please only read if comfortable with possessive D/s themes.
This is the first time that I am reading a product of Rosa Milano. Although this is the fourth book in the Obsessive Mobster series, I read this book as a stand alone.
The couple in this book is Ethan Gianni and Amanda Davis. This is a mafia trope with an arranged marriage, enemies-to-lover romance. However, the relationship was very back and forth where the plot was intervening with the chemistry of the two characters. Ethan is more of an experienced well lived man whereas Amanda is a sheltered clueless character. It was very hard to empathize or even care for the female character due to the lack of personality.
In this book, Ethan is retiring from his line of work. As he is retiring, he manages to get into Amanda's problem that he has to help her with. However, the plot lacks flair. The romance nor the plot was something that has not been read before. The book consisted of 41 chapters with an epilogue written in dual points of view, Ethan and Amanda.
The "romance" scenes were subpar steamy. There was potential for more. I will never judge on the amount of romance scenes in a book, but more the quality of the scenes themselves. Their relationship is almost like a dominant/submissive. I say almost because the chemistry was not there. For example, Ethan and Amanda are fighting one moment and she's "submitting" to him the next. It does not just happen like that.
The ending of the book tied everything together and the character's conflicts were addressed.
With that being said, I give the book a 3 out of 5. There was nothing that made this book stand out apart from other romance books. There was never a moment where I had to finish this book or thought, "I need to find out what happens next."
With thanks.
Disclaimer: I did get this book for free through Booksprout. However, I did not get paid for a skewed review .This is an honest review with no intentions to sway readers to persuade sales.
Although this is the 4th story of the series, it can be read as a stand-alone. I highly recommend though that these be read in series order for maximum reader and to prevent spoilers.
Contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, steamy intimate scenes and violence such as murder, fighting with some to the death, betrayal, BDSM themes of dominance / submission, restraints, sensory deprivation, spankings for punishment and pleasure, etc. Rosa Milano provides a glossary of terms after the Epilogue that may be found within the series to provide the background on scenes / terminology that could be helpful is not familiar with the genre.
There are a few grammatical issues, but fewer than previous stories. I was still able to easily interpret the author’s intent.
The one thing I didn’t realize while reading the series was the dates of the stories. One of the previous couples has a cameo (not sure why but I didn’t make the connection about his identity before the end …), but the timeline is advanced quite a few years. The way the series is written any of the stories could have been for just about any point in the future / past, i just processed them has having been concurrent, not 20+ years apart.
Ethan Gianni is the top killer within his family. He is celebrating his 40th Birthday, so he is ready to retire. Tonight is his final job for the family and it is at a nightclub. Not his preferred environment, but he plans on it being an early night. Then he sees her. A young girl … no young woman. She is being stalked by 5 predators. Then he hears that she is about to be engaged and given to the town’s other mafia’s family. Sold by her father so she can be wed to Benito, the Don’s only son who is a sadist that loves to beat and break innocent young females.
Not sure why, but Ethan finds himself wanting to protect her … life is about choices so he thinks through the various scenarios. Once he makes his choice he knows it will have an impact on both of them.
Ethans a killer, set to retire until she came along, playing hero was never his strong suit but the pull towards Amanda was to great to ignore. Taking his enemies betrothed was meant to be a means to an end and a way to get revenge for his parents, and to protect Amanda from hers and the rest of the world, but desires complicate matters between them, betrayal runs deep but can the truth set them free? well written captive hitman romance filled with action, suspense, desires and more.

Loved the story about the two mafia families you have Ethan and Benito both from the different mafia families. The two men do not like each other and they both want Amanda. There was a lot of action, Ethan wants Amanda so he can take the other guy, while Benito wants Amanda because she is a virgin and he will take it from her and once that happenes he will treat her badly.

I totally loved this book. Ethan is an incredibly attractive main character. With the choice of Benito or Ethan I find it impossible to see why anyone would choose the former. Amanda is so naive as to be almost unbelievable. In one sentence she thinks he's ratfaced and creepy, then a few pages later he is honest and trustworthy lol

Ms. Milano weaves mafia tales with a big dose of dominating men and strong mindful women, which makes for a thrilling ride. No matter how dominant her men, a surprisingly softer, loving side evolves. I didn’t stop reading once I started and can’t wait until her next book is ready.

It was an okay book. Kinda what you expect from this type. Hot alpha male that gets his way because he can. Slightly feisty female that gives into him way to easy. It’s a predictable story but still fun to read.

I had a blast reading this. The dialogue was snappy and the situations that developed were crazy. The characters, good and bad were outrageous and so diverse, they were almost comical at times. It is a good book and well worth reading. I was actually smiling at the end, even with the dead bodies that piled up.
Amanda better get used to it as she never does things the easy way, stubbornly careless she sneaks out the house to go dancing with her best friend, her first night out without a chaperone. A chance meeting changes an arrangement her dad has made that she knows absolutely nothing about causes ripples
You can't live a killer or shouldn't. A killer can't love if he wants to live. But sooner rather than later the act is done. He's had feelings for her since day one but didn't act on it. They are from rival families and hate each other. Will it work?
Ethan just wants to retire and relax for the remainder of his life, but after seeing Amanda all that gets pushed aside. He realizes she is in way over her head with what her father has planned for her. This is a great read and I highly recommend it!
Hot and steamy. Had many parts that were a little too much - as in way too out there. Enjoyed Amanda and Ethan getting to know each other even with their strange relationship.
I like that I hear from Dino and Rose again. With only one son that’ll sad. I also like that this Gianni handles his business methodically and quickly no beating about the bush. Sexy
So I was loving this series from the beginning. I thought In Debt to the Mafia, book one started this series off with a bang and since then each book has gotten better and better. ❤️🔥🖤🩸🖤❤️🔥
Really enjoyed this book and the story as it developed, love a strong dominant alpha with morals lol and just loved overall where the story went and the fire the female lead kept
