This follows straight on from the ending of the Forest Witch Lies, with Silver in hell and the guys heartbroken. I have to admit I wasn’t sure how I felt about this one. I hated Luke and just wanted Silver to go back to the cottage. But then there was Kane, *swoons* and I totally wanted him and Silver together. Then I got to the end, I still don’t like Luke, it seemed like he achieved his objective and was then bored, I hope I’m wrong. But damn the ending! That was brutal and also brilliant.
What would your reaction be if you had to go through tragedy twice?
How would you feel when you feel that all hope is gone and all the people you love are lost.
Would you just lay in bed all day, giving up, crying into your pillow for days on end?
Or, would you pull yourself up, take a deep breath, and decide to fight on?
Silver Fox isn't giving in or giving up to some archaic rules, regardless of some prophecy.
She's going to follow her head and her heart and do what's best, but they better watch their backs.
There's a storm brewing, and not everyone is going to come out of it alive.
Welcome to the 2nd book in the Alistar Academy series.
Remember, this is a why-choose, dark paranormal romance.
Not only is this book going to have dark satanic references, but it's also going to be steamier and spicer than book 1 was.
I really enjoyed The Forest Witch Lies and fell in love with the characters and the setting, and I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book and dive into it. I have to say that it's been worth the wait, although I had to wait too long, in my opinion.
I loved how the book has a bit of a recap, so if you have a bit of a wait between finishing book 1 and starting book 2 you get the chance to remember what happened at the end of book 1 and then you'll have the chance to be ready to go right back in to Silver going through the portal with Luke.
I did love that this book picked up with Silver still in hell, and that didn't change. And I loved that the guys were still just as heartbroken. Luke was a bit of a chance character. By that, I mean, I didn't know how to feel about him at first. It actually took me into this book to really warm up to him and grow to really and truly like him and Kane to be totally honest. And I'm looking forward to really seeing the chance that's happening with Silver, and I am hoping that it's all going to work out.
Honestly, what I wanted for the longest time was to see Silver get out of hell and go straight back to the cottage. That's just how much I hated the guys. But, then Kane, and I kind of * swooned*, and then I wanted to see Silver and Kane together, and I wanted to see her forget about Luke. But, slowly, that changed, and now I kinda like Luke. I love Wells still, though. I think Silver should be with Kane and Wells more than anyone. And then we have poor Arrow, he's still stuck back at the school, probably wondering why he was abandoned and left on his own, stuck caring for Wells and not out on a grand adventure with everyone else.
The ending, wow, is that ending amazing. It's brutal, brilliant, stunning, amazing, it's everything that you would want in an out of this world ending. We see Silver, whose soul is turning as black as black can be, but also we see her losing her humanity and all the good in her soul. I can't wait to read book 3. I NEED, like need like I need air, to know what happens next.
I wish I could give this series more than five stars , because it truly deserves more than five starts.!
This series is fucking epic and I'm loving every juicy minute of it. It's such an emotional rollercoaster ride with twists and turns you don't see coming. This is book 2 in the series and starts where book 1 left us, with silver in hell with Luke, fighting but giving up at the same time. She's a mess and just wants to go back. But she can't or dont know how.
The guys are devastated and heartbroken, they aren't doing any better, they are falling apart, 1 had left , the other is in a magical coma, and the other is on his own and is blaming silver for everything. But deep down he wants her back.
I didn't like Luke in book one and then in this book he started growing on me and then I didn't like him again. He got what he wanted and then changed. I didn't like that. Silver is better off without him. But then we are introduced to kane an incubus and him and silver spend alot of time together, hot damn. I really want her to kick Luke to the curb and add kane to her harem of men.
Once I started this I couldn't stop, it was jaw dropping and I was hooked. Again it had me on the edge of my seat, white knuckling my device. It's was all go from the start and my little heart was racing. It's filled with drama, loss, love, heartbreak, angst, spice, and loads more. It's dark, twisted, gritty , raw and bloody delicious! And that ending ! Like ma'am are you trying to kill us off!!
I can't wait for book 3, but I have a little bit of a wait, but I seriously need it like now. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Ok that ending was just rude Ms author lady. I was sucked in and didn't realize I was at the end until I looked down and saw i was at 97%. I might have cursed you out loud . I'm not sorry lol I finished the first book last night and read this one today in one sitting. I was recommended this because I wanted a book series that gave The Covenant vibes. I wouldn't say it succeeded but it did give me some smexy male witches. I loved the references to the movie tho. I see what u did there Amber Nicole lol I wish we got more background on The Hunters. I also feel like Silver didn't ask enough questions. I would have liked to see her find the fun of doing a little magic. Learning little things with Kane more. I will definitely be reading the next book when it comes out
This book takes place right where the first, The Forest Witch Lies, ends. After saving Wells, Silver is taken to Hell with Luke. Wells is in a magical coma, Don goes on an extended vacation, and Arrow(poor Arrow) is left at the Academy to take care of Wells. Like most people, I cannot stand Luke. He does seems to redeem himself near the end, but that will be determined in the next book. Also introduced is Kane, Luke's best friend and an incubus. He spends alot of time with Silver. Silver, whose soul is starting to turn black, loosing her humanity and the goodness inside her. I loved this book, and book 3 is much anticipated!!!
I loved the Forest Witch Lies and have been waiting for His Little Devil to be released and it's been worth the wait.
The start of the book has a little recap so you can jump straight back in to Silver going through the portal with Luke.
*Possible Spoilers*
I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about Luke but really grew to like him and Kane. I'm interested in the change that is happening with Silver and hoping
Absolutely loved the book and I can't wait until the next one comes out. ❤️😈
This book has been a long time coming. It's been a bit since we've seen Silver Forrest and her guys. And it was well worth the wait. Because...really...you can't rush perfection. And this book was just amazing. I am immediately thrusted back to Silver and what happened in book 1. I just could not stop reading. I was just so invested in everything Silver and what is happening with her. I will say, she's definitely not rolling with the punches here. She's bound and determined to get back to her guys and she's hellbent (pun intended) on mastering her powers. As we go along in this series, one character stood out amongst the crowd and instantly won me over. His name is Kane.
The one person who needs to say goodbye is Thimon. Like seriously. Envy green is not a good look.
Kinda wish I read the first book closer to this one cause I forgot so much that happened, there’s a tiny recap but not very detailed. She does a good job at making you feel for each character’s emotions & situations they’re put thru. I thought some of Donnie’s antics as a cat were funny. Luke was too secretive & Kane seemed like a fun type of demon. Silver’s powers are a mystery just like that ending lol.
I absolutely enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the final book to come out! The story continues on right where book 1 leaves off. I’m still not sure how I feel about Luke, I hate him, I love him and then I hate him again. But that’s what makes me love this book. I’m excited for the new edition to the harem and excited to see where their story goes. As always we are left on a cliffhanger but I feel like this one was easier on the heart compared to others I’ve read by Amber. Overall great story and love seeing the growth in Amber’s writing and story telling.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I don’t… I don’t know what to say. I mean that cliff hanger though?! Listen, I’m still not a Luke Stan. He just isn’t my cup or tea. But Kane? Ooo I loved Kane. But I’ll always loved Don, Arrow and Wells more. I can’t help it. They’re my ride or dies. And poor Silver. That was so much to go through in one year. What’s going to happen in book 3?! I can be patient. I can do this. I just wanna know.
I am obsessed and in love with this series. I need and want more. Please release the next book soon. Is is crazy that I hope she will gain more soul mates than the five she has in the next book? Hoping for around 7-10, I think that would be a good number, they are all obsessed and in love with her and I love that.
This is Alistair Academy book two and it picks up where b the first book left over. Once again I was hooked start to finish and was completely drawn into the story. I love Silver and her guys have grown on me. I also love that she has added one. I love the plot twists and that ending, wow! I can't wait to see what Amber Nicole has in store for us in book three.
I liked this! It's Silver's story continued. This was full of angst & heartbreak. Silver's heart is so big, she's in love with them all. Luke it seems has lost interest after things happened & she's really confused. This book ends on a cliffy & I'm hoping that her harem grows & includes the ones she's in love with as well. Recommend this series & author!
This series is so good so far. The author writes her books so well that I just get lost in the stories and I can’t get enough!!! I am so excited to see what happens with Silver and her men! I can feel the ending and what’s to come, but I am so excited to see the plot twists in between, because let’s face it, no book is complete; and Amber has some amazing plot twists!!!!
Amber you have done it again, I am always intrigued by your amazing writing style and word plays this book had me addicted from page one all the way to the last page. I literally couldn’t out it down, and that ending was amazing. Can’t wait for more from this amazing author .
This picks up right where Forest Witch Lies ended. I’m not sure how I feel about Luke though, Kane I’m all for. As for Silver, still proving why she’s a great FMC. I’m interested to see how things will continue for them in the next book
A great follow up to the first book. I immediately am wanting to read the next one. There is a lot going on and seeing silver grow with magic was amazing.
Oh mylanta that ending wth was that, who is that. What a duet turned series this is turning out to be. This pickups from where the 1st book The Forest Witch left off at and I'm afraid the drama or sexy scenes didn't stop nor did the threats. I'm not giving anything away other than you need to read this book if you read the first book. You don't want to miss this one.
The harem is fractured with all the guys spread out and away. We get introduced to Kane, Luke's best friend, and swooooon, hopefully he gets added permanently. Silver is still growing, and we're still left in the dark about certain things. I'm so anxious for everyone to get back together again.
You can’t really go wrong with Amber! This story was worth the wait! Read The Forest Witch Lies first then this one gives you a little recap and jumps straight back in. I love Silver and her guys! Highly recommend
I never read book 1 -got this book as an ARC and I thankfully took the time to go back and read Forest Witch Lies. Sooo....Now I'm invested and NEEED book 3 because this one has some huge cliffys....
I love the addition of Kane And can't wait to see if Luke can keep evolving. And I have an ever growing list of peeps that need to become Michael snacks. And I need Wellson to tell us what in the world. And I need little sissy to be ok. And, and, and, and I NEED MORE!!
