Emily Bex is the International Best Selling author of the epic six book Medici Warrior Series. As she says, “Why start small?” She worked for over twenty years in marketing, developing ad campaigns, catalogs, product launches and promotional literature. She figured if she could write creatively about products, then surely she could write something about these characters that were rattling around inside her brain. She currently lives in Virginia, but has used her extensive love of travel, both foreign and domestic, to create the backdrop for her characters to play out their story.
I loved this story. Watching Lorenzo, Sophia and Natalia grow up and to share their lives and angst was intense and worth every finger nail I bit off. I have a son and two daughters so it was easy to envision the dynamics of the Medici household. If I could have reached into the book to strangle Dona, I would have. I laughed, cried a lot and was angry. What a great book. Thanks Emily.
Another smash hit . Emily Bex continues to add to the epic Medici saga vividly painting the story with intrigue, love , family and suspense. I can’t recommend this series highly enough.

The wait was well worth it...I literally could not put this book down, its has it all...love, lust, ups, downs, laughter, tears, ugly crying, the lot! This book see's Kate and Shade's son, Lorenzo, leave home and reign as prince of Castello, while growing into his role as future king. We also see his sisters follow their paths while Kate and Shade deal with...never mind..no spoilers right? Get up to date with books 1-4 before immersing yourself in this delicious tale of lust, loyalty, betrayal and above all else love...as Emily says..."don't keep your vampire king waiting" 5 stars all the way
This is book five in the series and it’s just amazing to see how far the characters have developed. Old scores were settled in this book and it was just amazing to see play out. Lorenzo has developed into an interesting character. Cannot wait until the next book to see how it continues.
The fifth book in the Medici series continues Lorenzo's story along with following Sophia and Natalie's stories. The author does a fantastic job painting her scenes and pulled me in with all the action and suspense as well as the romance. It's well written, moves fluidly and I enjoyed reading. Looking forward to the next book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
This was a 4.5⭐️ read This series just keeps getting better. Kate and Shades som Lorenzo is Prince of Costello and definitely becoming the man he must be to be the future King. The girls are also heading off to follow their own paths. This book really emphasises the love and bond of family. Expanding her world Emily has kept us captivated with the exploits of this family dynasty. This book has it all... Emily can weave a tale and she has us captivated with the world she has created.

Emily has done it again! You feel like you are actually there with the characters. If you haven't read books 1-4 then you better get started as book 5 was worth the wait. Bring on book 6.
Wow!!! I never expected death. Lorenzo, son of Shade, has grown up and in his own right has become king. One sister will never marry while the other sister married a warrior and becomes prince. Read about all the love this family has. You will laugh with the antics of chrildren, cry with them and be happy with them. You will wish you could be there in the book with them as from children to adults. You have to read why a chicken became best friend to Sophie and all their antics. I love this series of books and the author is amazing how she has written this series. You never know what is going to happen next. A must read to keep me reread alot.
Wow.. couldn't put it down. getting to dive into the stories of my favourite vampires is the best feeling. Even the tears are worth it. This is a series you get totally invested in and reading them you won't be sorry.
This is the fifth book in the Medici series. There are moments in this book where you as a reader will experience, along with these wonderful characters their ups and downs, suspenseful moments, revenge, sex, loss and most of all love. The way that this entire series is written pulls you into the books. So you feel like you are literally right there with the characters. I love this series so much. If you like sexy vampire warriors and strong women. Lots of action, suspense, drama, romance and love. Then what are you waiting for? Pick up your copy today! You will not regret it!!
There are books that once you have read them, they are soon forgotten. Then there are other books that, like friends and lovers, that stay with you. You want to know more about each character, cant wait to meet them between the pages of the next book! This is one of those books! Lorenzo's s Rizing is intense, breathtaking and captivating. We started our journey with Shade and Kate, his Belle Rosso, in book one and with each book Emily Bex fills out the story and draws us into the world she has created. I can't t wait for the next book in the series. If you haven't started this series yet, do yourself a favor and start reading today

Okay, I’m just going to put this out there even though I’ve barely started this book. I do not like Sophia. I hate entitled spoiled brats and she surpasses the definition in every respect.
Why in the hell don’t these people have locks on their doors, especially since their children don’t seem to have any regard for the “knock before entering” rule? Not only that, but they apparently have a piss poor excuse for a vault since a six year old can break into it and access the royal jewels.
Shade to Sophia, “You will be required to mate a master, someone of great standing among our species, to ensure the long-term survival of our coven.” I call bullshit. Ensuring the survival of the coven falls on Lorenzo’s shoulders. Sophia will be absorbed into the coven of whomever she mates.
Why oh why do the vamps continue to use swords, crossbows, shurikens and other Old World weapons? Guns seem to be secondary in their overall arsenal. I know a lot of superstitions about vampires have been put to rest here but what about silver bullets?* (Hi-yo Silver away!)
Kate indicates that she just let contact with her family taper off gradually until it ceased altogether. Really? How would she feel if any or her three pulled a stunt like that? It would have been kinder if she’d faked her death rather than appear indifferent and uncaring. These are the people who loved and raised her. The author could have come up with a better solution.
More encounters with Sophia and it struck me that she and Larissa have a lot in common. Both of them think they are better than everyone else and have little to no consideration for others. The way Sophia disrespects Shade is unbelievable. He has no problem putting Kate, the supposed love of his life, in her place but that self-centered chit gets a free pass for her crimes. I can only hope that she gets her comeuppance sooner than later.
Nothing against Theresa but I wonder if she’s really cut out to be a nanny. It seems she is constantly apologizing for letting one of the kids get away from her.
Here’s a thought. Alec has made a reappearance into the story. I wonder since Sophia is so similar to Larissa if he and she could possibly have a future together. It seems that Donatella has plans for Lorenzo.
Kate’s eyes are described as being brown. They were always described as amber after she was turned. (Oops, back to amber later in the book)
Carlos is Lorenzo’s manservant. Even so, he might also be considered a chaperone of sorts. Although not a snitch, it certainly wouldn’t be remiss for him to advise Shade and Kate of Donatella encouraging the boys to drink Midnight. No one but Shade seems to be blind to her machinations.
I don’t consider myself an equestrian although I did ride for several years. Anyway, Lorenzo riding a six month old horse didn’t seem right. Horses are still babies at six months. I’m not even sure if they’re fully weaned at that age. Below is a bit of information on the topic.
It is a common misconception that horses must be two years old before they can be ridden. While a two-year-old horse may be physically able to carry a rider, it is not always recommended.
For a safe and successful riding experience, the horse should be at least three or four years of age. At this age, the horse’s body is physically developed enough to handle the work. Additionally, the horse has had enough time to learn about its environment and to become accustomed to the presence of people.
I’m also reminded that several times the author has had the characters flap the reins to get the horse to move. They may do that with Western riding but most Europeans ride English and you definitely do not flap the reins in that discipline.
“Can you keep your eye on your sister for me at the ceremony and afterward. If she looks like she is going to break out the chicken, please stop her...”
And yet: The two girls were about halfway down the path when they heard the clucking. Walking behind Sophia was her pet chicken, pecking away at the petals as they were dropped.
Why didn’t Kate use her gift to get the chicken to skedaddle? Or are chicken’s brains too small to be able to influence?
Alfie, Alfie, Alfie. You know you shouldn’t be boinking Donatella. I can understand not wanting to confess to Marco but not to share this information with Lorenzo? You definitely have a guilty conscience.
Mica is now spelled Micah.
How are the wolves living so long? I’m pretty sure it’s been over 20 years. Wouldn’t some of their offspring have taken over by now?
Chapter 2-45, page 1 - Raven...It had been a while since he’d visited here... Also page 1 - Sometimes Poe would come with him when he visited Bel Rossa, which seemed to be a lot lately, thanks to Tainted Beast.
So has it been a while or frequent visits? You can’t have it both ways.
“Meant to be.” Reminds me of Robert on Everyone Loves Raymond when he tried to woo three different women using that phrase. That and when his Italian girlfriend called him, “Bastardo.” His American girlfriend wasn’t sure what it meant but, “she liked the sound of it.”
*Sadly, I guess regular bullets will do the job.

Lorenzo’s Rising KU & $4.99, 726 pgs ***** 6/13/24 The Medici Family
This book starts when Lorenzo turns 10 years old. The age that Medici children go to live in Florence, Italy for warrior training at Castello. Natalia had been born between book 4 and this one and is 4 years old. Sophia is now 6 years old. So, there were now 3 Medici children of Shade and Kate’s, 4 counting Cory. I love reading about them as children and then adults making their own lives or at least trying to with Shade trying to control them the way he wants their lives to be lived.
Lorenzo, what can I say, broke my heart to see him left by his family at Castello at 10 years old. I just can’t imagine. I loved every minute of his training but again could not imagine a 10-year-old being put through all of the things he had to go through. He was a strong boy, kind, intelligent, much, much older in his actions and thinking. He was so dedicated to learning to become as his father is and in becoming a warrior and Prince that had earned his place as a future brother, King, and protector.
Donatella…the wench, plays havoc with both Lorenzo and Alfie, pushing them to do things they should have never been pushed into at their young ages. She was always popping in and giving gifts, of course with her own selfish hidden agenda and motives. She was able to manipulate the adult warriors, even Shade, into thinking she was only taking care of Lorenzo while he was alone without family. I think Kate, somewhere in the back of her mind, knew something wasn’t right with any of that but Shade always talked her down and said she was just being nice and neighborly. I have a feeling she is going to be major trouble!
Sophia is desperately still in love with Alfie, since she was 4 years old. Natalia learns her fate for her life. Shade seems to be becoming his own father in trying to control the girls adult lives, which does not go well at all with Sophia. Kate tries to intervene and stabilize emotions but doesn’t have much luck. Shade reveals, he has kept a secret all his life that no one knows about, but the Council because everything about every vampire is written there. Shade is determined to keep this secret forever.
The last half of the book is so action packed, I couldn’t take my eyes off a single word. So much happens and now that I have finished this book, I don’t want to read the last one because that will be the end of the series that has become one of my favorite series of all time. I am in awe, in love, and in total fantasy land with the writing of this series by Emily Bex. Damn that girl can write!
Kate, the Medici Queen, along with Shade, her vampire warrior and king, and their children have turned the vampire world on its head with everything that has changed in their short reign. As the story progresses Lorenzo heads to Italy, new ventures are sought, and letting go of the children may not be the only battle they fight. Emily Bex kept the emotional roller coaster going in Lorenzo’s Rising. Be prepared to rise and fall with each of the characters throughout the book as they embark on the new direction set forth.
I received a free copy of the book from the author via Booksprout. I had the opportunity to review or not.
Amazing story with characters that really come to life. A must read for anyone who loves paranormal romance books and will sure to become a classic. The author is a master storyteller putting so many twists and turns in the story that the reader feels a full array of emotions while reading and needing to turn the next page because you can’t predict where the story is going and what will happen next. She makes the characters come to life. I absolutely loved Princess Sophia and her pet chicken Poppy. Many laugh out load moments when the two are together. I can’t wait for book 6. I’m ready to preorder today!
One of the strongest parts of this story was watching Lorenzo, Sophia, and Natalia grow and change over time—their development felt organic and rewarding, and it was easy to become invested in their journeys. The level of detail is clearly a hallmark of the author’s style, which adds richness and depth to the world. At times, however, the abundance of detail made the story feel more like a full television season than a tightly focused episode, with multiple threads unfolding instead of a single fast‑moving central conflict. Even so, the character growth and immersive storytelling make this an engaging and worthwhile read.
I am enthralled and in love with these characters! This book as well as the previous four is off the charts amazing! I can't think of a single emotion you won't experience at some point in reading this story.
Anyone who loves a vampire tale will come away with a new coven to root for once you are introduced to the Medici.
I would be first in line to see movies made from this series! Just incredible! My only complaint is the I have to wait for book six! My hat is off to this talented author!
Interesting life of a vampire prince and his siblings coming of age
I can never get enough of Kate and Shade. Love Sofia's personality though she could of used a spanking once or twice. Lorenzo doesn't fall far from the tree of his padre and has his mother's heart Natalie was the only good kid. This book is long but it has a lot going on with vampire drugs and mafia trying to muscle in on vampire business. I only wish the author went in more detail of the destruction of the mob boss.
I’m still blowing my nose from crying so much reading through the ending. I did not see that coming. Each book is almost like a small series itself. There were so many surprises in this book that I never ever would have imagined, in fact I’m still stunned by the ending. I can’t wait to begin the last book. I read about 300 books a year according to kindle, and have for years. This series is in my top three of every series I’ve read, and that is a vast number. I definitely recommend this book and series to absolutely everyone!!!
It just gets better with every book in this series, Emily gives us all the feels in every one of her books. Once I started reading I immersed in the world that she built with her characters, it transported me to another reality, I just love when a book does that and this does it and I love it can't wait for the next book in the series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I believe MS Bed was writing an HBO series. The books were horrendously long & full of gratuitous sex. The violence is detailed & every death, except two, is gruesomly detailed. The story, characters & plot lines do eventually all come together in this last book. I read all five books. They were LONG, rambling & didn't seem to get to the point until the end of book five. The end is corny. 🤷🏼♀️
Oh my I love this series and this book was great! Don't want to ruin the read but I will say a small spoiler Jacks gets taken out by Kate's warriors! There are some twists and turns. Some tears as well. If you've read the others this is a must read. I can't wait for the next one!
Awesome book, This book it was a roller coaster ride. There are some twists and turns and it had suspenseful moments, revenge, sex, loss and love. The writing pulls you in and you will experience, what the characters are going through. This is a amazing series and the characters are so awesome.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Every book in this series is FANTASTIC!!! If I could give more than 5 stars I would. They have everything you could ask for in an EPIC book. Sensational characters, epic plot and steamy encounters. You will remember these books long after you read them!! And once you start reading you can't put them down!! Just the best series I have read and I'm a big vampire fan!!!!!
This book is pure fire 🔥 . Emily Bex has done herself with a story that delivers the action, the heat and the all the feels. You can't put it down once you start. Don't miss this amazing installment in the Medici warriors series. All I can say is , bring on the next one!!!
This book was a non-stop ride. It is nice to see the next generation growing into their power and becoming forces to reckon with. Lorenzo becomes a powerful warrior following in his father's footsteps. Allies become enemies. I can not wait for book 6 to see how this series wraps up. Loved it.
Love this series. It definitely made me laugh out loud. I highly recommend this series. Sofia is off the chart. Lorenzo is everything I thought his character should be. Great read
Just finished book 5 of this delicious series. It's bitter sweet as there will be one final book to complete this beautiful adventure. Please start with the first book and enjoy the ride!!!!
