A short, weird, and very disturbing story - exactly what I've learnt to expect from Justin Boote. Set in the Northgate universe, where nothing good ever seems to happen, it features a police detective going after a serial killer of teenage girls; only this time, the detective has to protect his own. The tale is a sort of paranormal thriller: the killer is a teenage boy (no spoiler, that's on the very first page) who enjoys using his paranormal gifts for sinister purposes. I hated the kid, and he deserves eternal damnation, though there are grounds for empathy. Well-worth a read!

Visions is a novella set in England.
Vincent is a 17 year old who has survived a horrific car accident that has left him with terrible migraines and as he finds out, the power to control other people's minds. With this power he decides to get back at all the girls at his highschool who have made fun of him.
By controlling his mother, he kidnaps the girls and kills them as a means of stopping his migraines and receiving sexual gratification.
His problems really get bad when he decides to go after Sarah. The daughter of the head investigator searching for him.
It's a quick easy read, but the end leaves something to be desired, maybe a few extra pages to complete the story to the end.

A short but intense read.

A near death experience has presented Vincent with a new ‘talent’. While his body might be weak, his mind is willing - so very disturbingly willing!

This short from the wonderful Justin Boote has a real intensity. You want Vincent to be stopped, but as a selfish reader, you want him to continue. While Vincent is truly horrible, he generates an uncomfortable empathy; a sadness of his isolated life even before the accident. How this is possible in less than 50 pages is marvellous.

Boote fans will smile at the mention of a very familiar place!

Fast paced story. The genre is a mash between horror and thriller.
You'll enjoy it if you want a short story that does not have very descriptive writing or has many twist and turns, but still has an interesting plot. The characters may not be very memorable either.

This was a short crazy story. Justin sure knows how to write about crazy people, lol. I feel like Vincent would be one of the characters in J. Boote's Monster series. If you're looking for a quick crazy read, go and check this one out.

Justin Boote 's VISIONS is a fun little read!! Vincent was in a bad accident that left him with an odd new ability, after a coma. But with that ability, came a price to pay. Some, with their lives.

Great job as always Justin!! Save me a signed copy! :)
