A charming Easter adventure based on the Netflix show Ada Twist, Scientist
It’s Easter! The eggs are decorated, the baskets are ready, and Mr. Twist’s Easter pants are looking fly, which means one thing: it’s time for the annual Twist Easter Egg Hunt, Ada’s favorite family tradition. And this year, her parents are letting Ada hide the eggs! But Arthur, her big brother, thinks the egg hunt is going to be too easy now that he’s eleven—so Ada has to do a test hiding to make sure it’s super hard or else Arthur will retire from the egg hunt forever! Ada, Rosie, and Iggy brainstorm about how to find the hardest hiding spot in the history of egg-hiding. A sweet and funny storybook about learning from your mistakes and accepting that sometimes you might fail, this is the most egg-cellent book for the Easter season.
Based on the bestselling series and the new Netflix show Ada Twist, Scientist, this charming new storybook is perfect for fans new and old!
Ada is surprised when her older brother doesn't want to participate in the egg hunt anymore because he finds it too easy, so she sets out to invent a way of making the eggs harder to find.
Meh, this doesn't have the heart that the previous books did. I'm not a fan of the animated illustrations. It seems like one of those companion books for a Disney movie where there isn't much substance. There IS a little bit about camouflage so I guess it is still a little bit sciency but definitely not as good as the original books.
Meyer slips informative text about camouflage into this story of hiding Easter eggs. Ada, Rosie and Iggy are gathered for the Twist family's annual Easter Egg Hunt. This year, Ada gets to hide the eggs. Her first attempts don't work well but the friends see a bunny hiding in the yard. They get the idea to camouflage the eggs and none of the family can find them. Detailed illustrations support the story. Readers get information on how to create their own egg hunt at the end of the book.
Usually I avoid this type of book like the plague--computer generated art, a tie-in product, centered on a holiday. But Ada Twist is very popular in my house, so we checked it out from the library. It was...good? It was completely fine, which was a nice surprise.
Ada has been appointed to hide all the Easter Eggs this year. Her brother Arthur says he's not participating this year because it's too easy to find the eggs. Ada and her friends Iggy and Rosie brainstorm to come up with a solution to make the eggs harder to find.
