When Animal Control appears in quaint Starry Cove on the hunt for the town’s treasured tomcat, the residents take to their battle stations. Will Operation Dewey Diversion succeed?
Cute. It isn't so much about the cat as it is about the townsfolk using their wiles to prevent the animal control officer from taking away the town cat.
Pretty much whole town rallies together, at the call of Harper, the postman (postwoman, to be more exact), in order to help distract the animal control boy, Mac, and prevent him from to capturing their beloved "stray" cat, Dewey. Poor Mac, starts his search around for direction to where the cat may be, by eating a lot of delicious cakes, fills his belly with coffee and milkshake; than taken to the church and taught to sing with some bells, tricked into buying pumpkin seeds in order to alure the cat with them; eh, he's suggested to try that place, or the other place, from one citizen to the other, and of course they are all into misleading him, and not let him find that cat :-) Dewey is safe in the end, being even licensed, and thus no longer stray, to ... the whole town.
Funny, light, and even a bit of a thriller. It may even be the subject of an episode of some cozy mysteries series at TV.
Lucinda Harrison sure can write out a comic yarn that keeps you drawn into its tale of whow and laughter with such zany characters that will astound you such as in this delightful tale of caring towns people with the exception of a grouchy mayor trying to get the poor unfortunate animal control officer from the next town over to take away their town's beloved cat named " Mayor Dewey " .To find out what comedic collammadies unfold acquire " Operation Dewey Diversion " for an entertaining and relaxing experience. 😮🤨🤔🙂😏😉😀Kat
This brief feel good story is about a town taking care of one of its own. When the mayor is fed up over trampled flowers, he insists the Animal Control Officer catch a cat, sending it off to a most likely unhappy ending. One woman discovers what is going on and brings it to the attention of others. Humorous attempts to redirect the Control officer don't seem to be getting the job done, so more drastic measures must be taken.
This was an adorable and funny short story. I would have loved to watch this and town people in a sitcom because I think it would be a real comedy. I recommend if looking for a quick fun story about people who love one very special kitty!
This is the first time reading this author. It is just a quick little story of how a town can come together to save a cat the mayor wants gone. I really enjoyed this short story.
