A delightful saga of Carlita's journey from NYC to Savannah to honor her husband's dying wish. A mysterious key makes the move possible. Hope Callaghan's descriptive writing makes the reader visualize the unique characters and the historic Savannah neighborhoods. Page turning plot as Carilta deals with the Savannah Architectural Society (SAS). Book 4 features underground tunnels, pirates, hidden gems, a troublesome tenant, and colorful suspects. Will Carlita finally be able to fulfill her husband's dying wish and have her sons Tony and Vinnie leave the family business? Book 10: Hope Callaghan weaves new quirky characters, a Pirate theme, Parrot Gunner discourse, real life interaction between mother Carlita and daughter Mercedes and Savannah tourist destinations into a fun cozy mystery. Annoying Elvira Cobb also makes a reappearance. I read each Made in Savannah mystery as it was released and wrote individual reviews. Ten delightful, well-crafted featuring tasty Southern inspired recipes.

Best light hearted, clean mystery books and are addicting!
I thoroughly enjoyed these 10 delightful COZY Mystery Books about Savannah, Georgia. I’m so glad I found these clean mystery books written with great character development.
If fact when I knew the end was getting close, and after reading these 10 books, the people in the books became part of my family. I am really going to miss them, even Elvira!
The savannah historical part was very interesting and the light dancing around the Mafia part giving it a lighter fun touch worked so well in these books.
Thanks for writing about women who are interesting, lovely, determined snd intelligent to get things done when necessary. And also showing how women and men of different ethnic groups can come together to make the best of a situation.
I’m hoping to find a long list Hope Callaghan’s books that I can cozy down with for about a week to read and enjoy,

A sweet cozy mystery series starring Carlita Garlucci, widow of a made man (mafia) from Queens who promises her husband on his death bed to get his kids out (of the family business). When she inherits properties in old Savannah, that's where she goes with daughter Mercedes. The characters and plotting are well done, although I didn't recognize the Queens accent and speech patterns until several books into the series. The characters are varied, some hilarious and some suitably shady. Mother and daughter seem to be really good amateur sleuths and the police don't seem to be as insistent on their staying out of investigations as in similar series.
There are 11 more books in the series. I'll probably read them all.

Made in Savannah Mysteries
Carlita Garlucci and her daughter have moved to Savannah,Georgia to get away from the mafia. Carlita inherited property there and has had renovations done so they will have a place to live and rental property. Tony,Carlita's middle son,has moved in to help run the pawn shop they opened. Carlita had promised her dying husband that she would get their sons out of "the family business". There is a lot of action...dead bodies,treasure,fire. This is the first series I have read in years. It was most enjoyable. I love Hope's mysteries. I give it 5 stars and recommend it to everyone.

Badly written
If I were to use an analogy for the writing in this book it would be the equivalent of when models used to glide down the runway seeming as if they were floating and now they just stomp as hard as they can. Bouncing up and down on their stomping feet. The writing in this was just as awkward. There was no flow, no movement…no transition from one place to another. I’m not even going to get started on the shallow characters any more than I will go into how TSTL throughout most of the books.

Seeing the family grow into wonderful people makes this box set a must read.
Having this box set lets us read these stories about a family and the changes they go through. The strong family bonds the strong moral tasks and the growth they achieve along the way. Great characters good stories with twists and turns
Carlita's world is upturned when her husband dies unexpectedly. Never driven a car and her husband handled everything, she makes hard choices and with determination she starts a new life for herself and hopefully her adult children. As time passes each of them experience personal growth while dealing with dead bodies, hidden tunnels, a cache of gems and the Mafia.

Love this family
I was hesitant to buy 10 books in case I didn't like the story. As my grandsons sometimes say "I didn't like it - I loved it. Carlita's strength, determination, love for her children and ability to solve a mystery make for a great series. I'm anxious to continue her story. Hope has a real gift as a story teller. Her writing keeps your interest without bad language or sex.

Quick,enjoyable read for those who like Savannah
Even if one has never been to Savannah, this book is enjoyable because of the combination of comments about Savannah and the little mysteries described. Very cute mother&daughter dramas as well as info on Savannah's sights make this a good, light read when one doesn't want to get bogged down in a heavy, detail ridden mystery. A very good traveling book as well as a 'beach read'.

How I love the book set
This book set is great. I love getting the receipts at the end of each book. Like the Hummingbird Cake. I make one for the cattlewomen an they auction it off at a local cattle sale it has gotten from $500 to $1800. About the only difference is she has orange peel in hers cake and frosting I will have to try it. M niece is wanting too read it from me telling how I like it so much.

Great for Binge Reading
Wow! What a great binge read whether you are on the beach or right by the fireplace. Or, anywhere else for that matter. It 's like venturing out with people you haven't met before and who turn out to be your best friends as you live out their adventures and misadventures with them. I highly recommend this series to all cozy mystery fans and to those who haven't tried Hope Callaghan' s works. Believe me, you will always want to get to the next book.

I just finished reading all 10 of these books and LOVED reading them one after the other. I just LOVE reading about Carlita Garlucci and her whole family! I LOVE reading about Savannah, GA as I only live about 4 hours south of I-95 from Savannah! I have been there several times including when my daughter's Navy ship docked there about 2009. It is a wonder City and these books are wonderful to read! LOVE the mysteries! I can see reading more Hope Callaghan books!

mafia
This story was a great change of pace. I’ve not read a set of books covering the mafia and then a change to living in Savannah. The challenges that Carlita has faced to move her family away from the Queens, New York mafia is inspiring. Her husband has passed and she has a son and daughter working with her in the businesses she runs. Great characters and great writing also love the storyline.

I read these books as they were released. This is a first-class series. The plots is twisty, the well-drawn characters and expert crafting keeps the pages turning. These were enjoyable reads and I’m looking forward to the author’s future work. This book was a gift and chose to make a voluntary, unbiased review.

Funny, fast and full of Savanah!

Exciting and intriguing read
I read a couple of these before I found the set. I absolutely love the family aspect of this series; the way the family works together to help solve mysteries, as well as support each other -regardless. Plus I love the city of Savannah! I'm looking forward to trying out the recipes.

I enjoyed every second of this series!
From page 1 to the very last page this series was so enjoyable. There was something new and exciting in every chapter. It was funny, emotional, and realistic, something not every series can offer. I think everyone, old, young, and in between would enjoy. Thank You Hope Callaghan for another wonder series.

Mafia family changing life style
This was soo wonderful I enjoy every page. I love having the grouping together and could follow the family. The author must have spent months interviewing the mafia members. Addictive. Light. Entertaining.
Admittedly, I like reading mysteries. This series was delightful as well as intriguing. The crimes (even murders) were clearly written without gory, graphic details. It may be hard to imagine stories involving "the family' (mafia) with no cusses or swears but the author nails plots and twists and character development colorfully without them.

Savannah mobsters
Hope Callaghan writes a compelling mystery series with her Carlucci Family starting a new life away from the New York mafia. Her descriptions of Savannah and its marvelous City attractions are right on. I could picture the city location and hear Carlitas' NY Italian accent in every word. An entertaining story set.

Moving on
I really enjoyed this box as t full of great characters and a well rounded story being a box set I think the author forgot what she had written a book back and it made it a bit annoying but still I had to give it 4 stars as it didn't stop it from being a good read

Mafia, Murder and Mayhem oh my!!!
What a great series of books. The characters were personable and funny. They were so real you had to keep guessing what was next. I can’t wait for the next series.

Great series. Hard to stop reading until the end of a chapter. The Italian recipes at the end of each book are an added bonus. Each book has a mystery which is solved in that book.

Savannah Mysteries box set
Once again I bought a box set called Savannah Mysteries and enjoyed every minute of reading the series.
I loved the story line and the people they chose.
Good for teens to adult reading.
