Another man has been executed, just like Tom. What secrets will be revealed by the light of the truth?
Police Captain Keith Baker loves leading the detectives squad in Hazel Hill, but he's beginning to wonder if it is a good fit for him. Would crime be less rampant in the city if someone else led these detectives? When Keith is offered the position as Chief of Police, his lack of confidence leaves him suspicious of the mayor's intents. After all, Keith and his detectives couldn't solve the murder of his friend, Tom Davis. However, Tom's case comes alive again when another body turns up in the same location. Could they finally solve Tom's murder?
Amy Davis is still trying to heal from the tragic loss of her husband over a year ago. She's leaning into God, but the pain has left her numb until Keith stirs up feelings she never expected to experience again. When her family starts receiving strange threats, she turns to Keith for help. Can he protect her from the secrets that surround her husband's murder?
Amy's husband Tom was killed outside a furniture warehouse over a year ago. Keith, the Captain of the detectives of the Hazel Hill PD, was a good friend of Tom. He's frustrated that his department can't solve the case. His son Dustin and and Amy's son Grayson are best friends who love skateboarding, but can't seem to stay out of trouble. Liz Bradford has done an excellent job with characterization. Her ability to pace the suspense, the mystery and the romance coupled with her ability to inject Biblical principles shows a master hand.
Amazing conclusion to an amazing series. This is one of the best series I have read this year, and that is saying a lot. I love books with kids and families in, and this series had a lot of that. Great and likable characters, terrific plots, on the edge of your seat suspense.
And then this, the final book. Wow. Amy and Keith's story, their kids, the danger their kids were in...especially their two 13 year old boys.....the bad guys - and I was right about a couple. This was an awesome book.
I so needed this book at this time. We all struggle with trusting the Lord, we can talk the talk but so many times it’s hard to walk that walk! In the Grand picture, it doesn’t really matter much because He is ALWAYS there, ready to forgive and lead us back to that path of Grace. An ABSOLUTELY wonderful read that hit home
I enjoyed reading about Keith Baker and Amy Davis and their children. Why teenagers think they can solve their problems without their parents help is amazing, but they all do. I knew who the bad guys were as soon as they were introduced, but that was okay. I like how they continually look to God for support. I am looking forward to Keith's sister and Wyatt's story.
A must read. Yet another homerun for Liz Bradford. She is proof that an author can write books that sell that do NOT deal with sex, drugs and rock n roll. The focus is on God and what He can do for us if we truly give our lives over to Him
A great book. 10 stars. Great for people who are struggling in their walk of faith. The story was good and the "dialogue" was natural and believable. Recommend to all clean cozy readers.
I always enjoy reading a quality book and Liz Bradford always delivers. She is an amazing author and I appreciate her faith that she shares with the characters in her book.
Good book, tastefully done especially handling the marriage of someone who had lost her husband to murder. Always can count on suspense and several story lines. Very good!
I love the way Ms. Bradford weaves her stories around her characters bringing them together through so much evil but showing God's grace and mercy through it all. Absolutely great writing! Thanks, Ms. Bradford!
What a great, layerd mystery. with plenty of romance included! Liz Bradford intertwines faith in Jesus in a marvelous way. This story of two hurting families will touch your heart. I would gladly give it more stars if possible.
Loved reading about Keith and Amys stories and how all they describes worked so hard to solve the murder of Amys husbands murder with others piling up on their desks. And finding they all may be connected. What a great read.
This well written story has so many things going on, you don’t know who to suspect of what! The characters are well developed and the book leads you to Jesus.
I cannot read Liz’s books fast enough. I can’t wait for the ending but then I am sad that I finished the book as I want more. Can’t wait to Wyatt the next one.
Amy Davis received the news that no one wants to hear - her husband had been murdered. Her friend, Captain Keith Baker, tries to support her as their boys are friends. He is also not a stranger to grief, having lost his wife to cancer. When a murder similar to her husband's death happens, he knows the time has come to finally solve the case. I have come to really enjoy the Detectives of Hazel Hill series. The characters have become like a family to each other. I enjoy how they support each other in the pursuit of justice. The suspense element to this was definitely unpredictable. I definitely did not see all of the connections. I like how the author manages to pull you into that part of the story without adding unnecessary details. The storyline kept me guessing without going too fair. The romance between Amy and Keith was perfectly paced. I love how they connected to each other's families first. Nothing felt rushed or forced. Their relationship seemed natural and how a second chance love should be - full of honor as well as prayer. Faith was definitely an important part of this book. I read this book on Kindle Unlimited the very day it came out. I think it says a lot about my enjoyment of this author. I thought this was going to be the last book in the series. But it almost seemed like there might be another book to come. I certainly hope so.
