Welcome to the sleepy shores of Cody Bay nestled on the coast of Nantucket, in the Atlantic Ocean, Massachusetts, and home to the Cody Bay Inn. Cody Bay Inn is a heartwarming, clean, wholesome romance novel which is perfect for fans of later in life romance and women’s mystery fiction where true love is possible, old wounds can heal and anyone can build a new life, at any age. With mesmerizing characters and beautiful settings, the Nantucket Romance Series is one you won’t soon forget. In Book 2, a full length novel, Cody, Christopher, Carla, and Steven join up to uncover a truth that’s been kept from them for almost three decades. While they unravel the shocking mystery that will change their lives forever they must find a way to forgive the past, each other, and find their way to love again.
While Cody prepares the Inn for a good friend’s wedding, she must deal with her new guests, one of which is Christopher Stanford who is recovering from surgery. As Cody and Christopher get to know one another again they must learn how to deal with their painful past. A past that is about to catch up with them and pull them into a mystery that will change their lives and everything they thought they knew about their families forever. Carla didn’t want to have anything to do with the Stanfords. She knew they were a family used to getting what they wanted and anyone who stood in their way was flicked aside in one way or the other. But when Steven Stanford had begged her to help his brother, Carla couldn’t say no. She was, after all, one of the top doctors in her field and Steven’s brother needed her expertise.
But treating Christopher opened up old wounds that had never properly healed and seeing Christopher reunite with his family made Carla realize it was time to face the demons of her past. Carla was no longer an angry frightened teenager who’d run away from Nantucket almost twenty-eight years ago and never looked back. What she’d left behind had been far too painful and had left her heart permanently bruised and her soul forever lonely.
Carla knew that accepting the post Steven had offered her as assistant director of Nantucket General Hospital was going to stir up a hornet's nest and make some residents of the island uncomfortable. But Carla was no longer afraid of anyone. Carla was not only in Nantucket to take up a new position and help Christopher, but she was also there for her own mission too. To find someone she’d lost almost twenty-eight years ago! Even if it meant facing her arrogant self-serving father and his new mistress.
Escape into the beauty of the Atlantic coastline and fall in love with Cody Moore, her adorable teens and crazy house full of loveable pets. Whilst mysteries are unraveled and love blossoms all around her, Cody learns that true love deserves a second chance after all.
Amy Rafferty writes uplifting, clean romance filled with heart, healing, and the kind of hope that lingers long after the last page. Known for her coastal settings, later-in-life heroines, and unforgettable family bonds, Amy's books offer second chances and emotional journeys wrapped in love and mystery. When she’s not dreaming up her next story, she’s sipping tea by the sea and treasuring time with her family.

"You have to open your heart to let it in so it can whisper to your soul and show you the way"
What an awesome series! In the first book we were introduced to the intrigues of Cody Bay and with this the community begins to build and the characters find the cracks and fill them in with strong evidence and grounded acceptance. Family acceptance, surprises from the close knit community, celebrations and tragedies all bring this wonderful book together as others with their own stories come into focus.
I cannot wait for book three! Amy Rafferty is a great writer who draws you in and gives you a seat at an ever expanding story that will keep you reading until your phone battery is almost gone! Highly Recommended 5/5
[Disclaimer: I received this book from the author and voluntarily read and reviewed it]
This is book 2 in the Cody Bay series and another excellent story from start to finish. Some mysteries in book 1 are solved in book 2 and others are revealed. Cody Bay is a special place which attracts people that need help and healing. There is a lot going on in this book filled with mystery, intrigue, deceit, lies and of course romance. Cody and Christopher are moving toward a reconciliation, Nancy learns the truth about her birth, The mystery surrounding Carla is revealed and Nancy discovers who her birth parents are. Lana and Carter marry and a new arrival makes an unusual appearance at Cody Bay. What will her story be? This book is difficult to pu dowm. The character list at the front is very helpful. I received this book from the author and voluntarily read and reviewed it
Christopher is still recovering with his kids and Cody. Nancy wants answers to who her parents are. Secrets are uncovered but more secrets exist waiting to uncovered. Carla’s ex, his daughter and brother arrive in Cody Bay. There is so much packed into this book. Nancy’s quest, Cody and Christopher dating, Steven and Carla get closer, Lana and Carter tie the knot. There are all kinds of emotions too. Amy Rafferty knows how to spin a tale that the reader can’t help but reading to the end. I love Amy Rafferty’s books.
I was given this advanced copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.
I am loving this series! The books are longer than the other series Ms. Rafferty has written and I think they need to be. There are so many characters and so much happening that you need the time to put it all together. This time we learn more about the Stanford family along with delving deeper into who Dr. Carla Newton is and how she fits into Cody Bay. Wonderful characters and great relationships! Am eagerly awaiting the next book. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
I couldn't wait for this book. It had been a while since I read the first book and when I finished the first chapter I remembered the small details that were given in the first book. I really liked how Amy developed the stories of the characters and brought more intrigue in Cody Bay. These characters are very, very interesting. I cannot wait for the next book to continue this story. It was so easy to get caught up in the book.
Just finished August Dreams in Nantucket, book 2 of the Cody Bay Inn. Absolutely loved this book. So many secrets and only little pieces are revealed at a time. Amy, you sure know how to grab your readers into your books. All these unanswered secrets can drive a person nuts. Will Cody and Christopher reunite? Will the truth come out about Cody's parents accident? Who really was behind Carla's baby being taken from her? So many questions and secrets, but what a FABULOUS series.
I love this new series. The characters on Cody Bay keep me engrossed as secrets are revealed about their family and relatives. Each book can be read as a standalone but the characters overlap so it is more fun to read from the first one....highly recommend. I received an advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.
How disappointing that this second book in the series is riddled with errors just like the first book. If you paid to have proofreading done then you should get your money back! The book was published in 2021, so why has no one ever caught all these mistakes before?
Again, the book is good, but I can't give a higher rating due to the number of errors.
I found this book very confusing with all the people involved. I found this true right to the last pages ! However, as I finally got in my head who wasI who, I found I wanted to read the next book in the series...book #3. People who would like to read this would be the person who likes a mystery with a nice bit of romance involved.
Oh my goodness. Og my goodness. I love this story and these people. I do not know how Amy came up with this wonderful story. Everyone should read it. You will not be disappointed.
I recieved this book free from author for an honest review.
This was a continuation of the first story. It was more in depth of e story about Cody Bay Inn. It held my interest, and there was many truths revealed. I k ow you will enjoy this story.
In this continuation of book two more secrets from Cody's life are revealed and go in a direction I could not have foretold. I don't like to give away the story so just let me say it is every bit as good as book two.
Book 2 is just as fast paced as book 1. Christopher is recuperating from his surgery at Cody Bay Inn and re-acquainting himself with his children and Cody after their many years apart. There is a very intriguing storyline where many of the characters are intertwined with major surprises that i don't want to give away. The character list at the beginning of the book is helpful to keep all the relationships clear in your mind. I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline as well as the way the author developed her characters. I received this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
The second book in this series is just as spellbinding as the first book. Each book has a list of characters and family trees that continue to grow. In this book, Cody is still a primary character as well as Steven who former brother-in-law. The story focuses on their interaction with Christopher, Cody's ex-husband and father of her children, and Carla, a new physician at the Nantucket Hospital. Emotions are rampant and secrets revealed as Ms Rafferty weaves a story of past love and healing. This story will hold more meaning if you read it in sequence with the series.
