Rate this book
Under the massive GCHQ spy centre in Cheltenham and behind a locked steel door three-quarters of a century old is a room full of ancient secrets. When Natasha Black starts asking the wrong people the wrong questions about it, she hits a hidden firewall. Suddenly somebody wants her dead, but she doesn’t know who and she doesn’t know why.

On the run from mercenaries with kill orders, with nowhere to hide and nobody to help her, her future looks both bleak and short. But Natasha’s not a quitter. To save her own life, she must make sense of what’s happening.

A trail of events that began in the smoking ruins of Berlin in 1945 has reached the top of the British intelligence community and has somehow enmeshed her. On the run from her unseen enemies, she encounters rumours of lost Nazi computer technology, secret human experimentation, a vault of hidden treasure and a handsome assassin with a secret agenda.

Natasha can trust no one and as she flees from England on her quest, danger stalks her as she tries to protect the world from the ancient, horrific evil she encounters, an evil with the power to wreak untold havoc on today’s world.

If you're a fan of smart, fast-paced conspiracy thrillers with a twist, the first of the sensational new Natasha Black series will have you on the edge of your seat and yearning for more.

Wonderful spy saga

This novel vacillates between the current time and the end of WWii. It hinges on a fictional collaboration between the Vatican and Nazi Germany.
Our hero is on the spectrum and has no espionage training other than as a cryptographer. She is great fun to read and I think any thriller fan will thoroughly enjoy it.

Great characters and historical settings, Natasha is thrust into drama & intrigue, attempting to sort out what is happening in the present versus what may have happened in the past.
