Warped by the trauma in her past, Willa is sure she lacks what it takes to be a forever kind of girl. While she might fantasize about happily ever after, it is just that: a fantasy. No matter how her pulse races when her tender, brooding Viking whispers promises and possibilities to her broken heart.
But when crisis hits he's there, and Willa takes comfort in his strength. He sees more than she thinks. She’s complicated, but his goals are simple.
Happily ever after is theirs for the taking. Will she see she deserves it or will she break both their hearts?
Willa's book was a heartfelt journey of a traumatic experience for her that happened in her teens, that she's kept close to her heart. She relived this memory every year.
This event along with having a narcissistic mother made her into a person who was guarded and thought a happily ever after wouldn't be for her.
I loved how Barrett came into the picture. He had a patience of a saint and waited her out. He knew she was it for her and waited out all her doubts and insecurities.
Barrett 6ft 4in Viking looking gentle giant of a vet, with a love of music who falls immediately in love with Willa a curvy broken woman reluctant to take a chance on love. She hides a secret from her childhood that was ruled by a mother who disliked her children. This secret reared it’s head every year and the only people who could help her were her sister Mara and her friends Bex, Junie and Minty. Now she has Barrett, she gives him a chance but her self esteem gets in the way. Can she trust him enough to have a future and give him everything he wants. He works as a vet at the shelter where she volunteers. They both share a love of music. When her secret comes out the way it is written left me sobbing and heartbroken. So beautifully written. OMG I cannot do this book justice my emotions ran all over the place. I smiled! I laughed! I cried! I felt! True love at its best. Roll on Junie’s story and Minty’s story I can’t wait for these books to come out
The latest addition to Devin Sloane’s beautiful Bridgewater series gives us a peek into Willa’s world after previous introductions to Bex and Mara. Willa is carrying the hurt of a painful secret in her past and the trauma of a narcissistic parent, both of which have held her back from having a deep, meaningful relationship - until she meets Barrett, a sweet, steamy cinnamon roll of a man who is a vet by day, guitar hero by night, and a totally sexy Viking around the clock. (Can you tell I fell in love?)!
I appreciate that Willa and Barrett’s love story is a delicious slow burn that is genuinely and exquisitely told. I also love that Sloane tips her hand and widens the character circle with Willa’s friends Minty and the hilarious Junie, a fun card who provides comic relief and gets in some of the most memorable lines! I felt like one of the girls hanging out with them.
I received an ARC of this book and I am providing my honest review opinion.
Feel Again is book 3 in the Bridgewater series🌊. This instalment features Willa, 32 and afraid to risk a relationship, and Barret, 41 and sure of what he wants. The minute he meets Willa, he knows he’s met someone special and wants to get to know her.💕
I mention their ages specifically because I feel like it’s more rare to get a romance story about “older” people (I.e. over 25 🙃). Perhaps it’s because I turned 30 this year, but I love that the focus is on two people who have lived full lives before meeting each other. Both Willa and Barret’s’ pasts have made them who they are - Willa’s past trauma and terrible relationship with her mother has made her wary to trust, and Barret’s dating history has made him sure of what he wants. Their past experience doesn’t always make their road to romance easier, but it does make it more realistic.
There are definitely some serious issues dealt with in this book, but again, for me that’s what makes this romance realistic. Nobody’s life is perfect and everybody has a past and all those things, good and bad, shape who we are. ✨
This book does make reference to the characters and love stories of the first two novels in the series, but it can definitely be read as a stand-alone. This is a slow burn romance with some very steamy scenes. 🔥🔥🔥
📚Thank you to Devin Sloane for having me as part of her tour!📚
It didn't matter where they were, she brought all the stars.
This was yet another beautiful and emotional story by this talented author. I loved Willa and Barrett and the love that grew between them. Barrett is a viking of a man with just as big of a heart. He was the perfect person for the nervous-nelly, Willa. She has a lot of past trauma and I loved how Barrett (and her friend family) helped her through it all. His sweet (and dirty) words, gentle touch, and his steadfastness was exactly what she needed to realize how lovable she really was.
I was lucky enough to get an eARC of Live Again from Devin Sloane, and this book blew me away. I don't read contemporary romances that much as I prefer fantasy, however, this book was outstanding. I haven't felt such strong, overwhelming (in a good way) emotions for a contemporary romance in so long. Devin Slone did an amazing job with this book and I absolutely love Bex and Rhys's story. I love when an author can pull me in and make me feel everything while falling in love with the characters and Devin Sloane does an amazingly wonderful job at this.
Wow...I'm kind of starting with the end (but without spoilers I hope) because what a spectacular ending/hea for two awesome people. Willa deserved all the happiness in the world and Barrett was determined to give it to her. Not to mention all their family and friends that conspired to pull off this beautifully touching ending!!
I loved that Barrett just knew from first sight that Willa was "the one" and also knew that it was going to take alot of convincing to get Willa on board. Not only was she struggling with past childhood trauma that left her believing she didn't deserve happiness but her also not wanting to rock the boat of the hard won peace she did have. (It's difficult when your new love interest works at the same place or is a part of your extended family and friends...and Barrett was both which could definitely rock the boat if things went south...lol). Anyways Barrett was the perfect man with all his patience and understanding to calm and ease all of Willa's fears.
I also loved the extended secondary characters of the band and Willa's coworkers/besties. Especially curious about Minty and Lucky...(hint hint to Devin).
Again if you haven't read this emotional and heartfelt series you definitely need to. Highly recommend/ 5 stars!!
Devin what have you done to me? Feel again made me a blubbering mess. THE TEARS WONT STOP! This book from the Bridgewater series has to be my absolute favourite of all 3, and I loved the other 2 books!!!!
Barrett is an amazing human. He is a rock for Willa. He can see her even when she thinks she can't be seen or even want to be... But my word He makes me want a Viking of my own!😁 He is ready and waiting for Willa and just waiting for her to play catch up. He is truly perfect, and perfect for Willa. In Breathe Again and Live Again we see a very different Willa. Her story is truly heartbreaking but very beautiful. With the support of great friends, family and Barrett she can get through anything. I adored this book. It was absolutely well written and made me fall in love with the Character's. The HEA was the FREAKING best! I would absolutely recommend this book and the Bridgewater series.
Thank you Devin for allowing me to read an ARC of Feel Again.❤
Having read the first two books in the Bridgewater series earlier this month I couldn't wait to immerse myself into Willa’s life & her burgeoning relationship with her viking Barrett.
I'm not supposed to post my review until late September, but I couldn't wait that long...Devin understands!
I'm so sad this series has finished, but I do know a spin off series is currently in the making ❤️
Another beautifully written book, that will have your heart racing, the tears streaming & will certainly hit you in the feels.
Apart from Willa’s god awful narcissistic mother, the characters are such a gorgeous bunch of close knit friends that we all would love to have. And I've loved watching them all develop & come into their own, especially our reticent Willa, who is struggling due to her past trauma from her mother & holding onto a painful secret, making her feel that she is not worthy of being loved & cherished by anyone.
What a book! What a series! Devin Sloane is a master at creating damaged heroines and strong, yet compassionate heroes. The depth of feeling she generates is just incredible. I actually had to put the book down and walk away from it in order to get my feelings under control. Sloane's words on paper are as heartbreaking as they are heartwarming.
Willa has severe emotional responses and anxiety attacks attached to something that happened in her past. That traumatic event and being raised by a narcissistic mother has left her doubting her own self-worth and she doesn't think she deserves a HEA.
Barrett (Viking) is a big guy who spends his life caring for animals. Now he wants to care for Willa, but he has to convince her to let him in first. He's a gentle giant who has the patience to wait her out. As he scales her walls (and her body), can he find the right combination of love and security to conquer her heart?
A truly beautiful book. This is the third in the series and you should really start at the beginning to enjoy this book to the fullest.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.
Wow, this book. The third book in the story and I've been looking forward to reading Willa's book the most. Her character development through the book and her experiences made me feel hella emotional. Barratt 'the Viking' is a beautiful man who comes along and slowly works himself into Willa's heart. Willa has not had the best past, and you can see this as you read on. I loved reading Willa's character develop through the book and Barratt helping and guiding her through this. Traumatic childhood experiences plus a narcissistic mother made me in awe of her strong ness and personality. Devin brought to light mental health particular anxiety and how it can affect your everyday life which struck close to home, and she wrote it with justice. It was nice to read from the person effected point of view and the people around her and how it effected them. I love Devin's books and cant wait to read more. P. S what an ending!!!
A quiet man isn’t a bragger, he is a good listener, and he doesn’t scream at you or project his past pain or failure. Instead he has confidence. He sees you the way you should see yourself. He leans his forehead on yours. His pleasure is him giving you pleasure. He is fiercely protective and you are just as much his as he is yours.
That’s Barrett. A quiet man who looks like a Viking. Covered in tattoos, muscles, is a veterinarian and likes to tie you up in the bedroom. He is a boss in the bedroom and in life. He just has it!
“Make yourself feel good. Rub that gorgeous pussy over my cock as much as you want but do not come.”
Seriously, every time he took her I was on fire.
He wants it all with her, and he is so patient. It was a delicious slow burn.
It was amazing to be among this group and even more amazing to get Willa’s story. She is selfless and hardworking. I love her love of her niece and how she is her niece’s person. Her hair and her heart felt like it matched her spirit. Part calm and chaos. Many times she functions, but when she is happy she feels unsafe. Because to her, she doesn’t deserve that happiness. I believe her mother was emotionally abusive, and is narcissistic, and unfortunately no one stepped up for a little girl on the verge of a life changing moment.
Barrett wants the good and the bad. Knowing that she volunteers at the animal shelter is opportunity knocking. When you are quiet enough you see it and feel it, the one. They become one another’s fast car. Their drive outs, laughs, silence, were amazing aesthetics to their love story.
If you’re looking for a slow burn, friends to lovers romance with a hot Viking then look no further. Devin’s Sloane’s third book within the Bridgewater Series, Feel Again, pulls out all the stops.
Feel Again dives further into the story of Willa and Barrett. The author takes us on a journey of watching Willa work to overcome pain from an event that has haunted her since she was a young girl. We also get a glimpse at how much of a support system Zale and Mara had provided her, which I loved as it tied into the rest of the series so well and let us see more from the other characters.
Devin also shows us just how committed Barrett is from the very beginning of his journey with Willa. He’s patient, loving, and always there for her. We also get to learn about Barrett’s hidden talent, which in and of itself, is absolutely swoon-worthy. I adored Barrett (definitely book boyfriend material!) and really loved the relationship between these two characters. As always, Devin gives us an emotional story that doesn’t shy away from the complicated parts of life. A beautiful ending to the Bridgewater series!
I received an ARC from the author and this is my honest review.
Feel again is an exceptional conclusion of the brilliant Bridgewater Series. I am in absolute awe and completely speechless and have no words for this masterpiece. I loved Willa & Barrett. The story takes us through her struggles and traumas. Barrett was so patient and intuitive and understanding of what Willa needs & is there for her. The story was captivating, emotional with all the feels. This series had me emotionally invested in each story from the very beginning. When you take a chance on a new author and luck out with discovering a hidden gem , it just makes your day. It’s truly a treat to read an author who writes beautifully and captures every raw emotions of the characters and bares the soul of the character. I loved her attention to little details & the sensitive issues she touched which are important and should be discussed about. Devin did it with such a finesse. Normally there is a one book that I might like more from a series, from this series I can’t pick a favorite. Every book is phenomenal and a masterpiece on its own. I can’t wait to read what this talented author would write next . I would highly recommend this series. Definitely a must read and deserves more than 5 stars ⭐️
Thank you, Devin!! For once I didn't cry like a baby!! Although I did still get teary-eyed. Sad moments aside, this book was full of so much love and happiness!! It highlighted how someone can flourish and overcome insecurities and grievances with a great support system, and it showcased the special bond between Willa and her family. This book just made my heart happy, which I really needed after crying my eyes out ready the first two!! Another Devin Sloane Masterpiece. Now give me more!!!
Barrett is just the sweetest, Viking teddy bear and I loved his burly exterior with the tender heart. Through the story, Will a struggles with past traumas and feeling worthy, but she learns to forgive--herself and others who contributed to her past. She surrounds herself with the love of the Bridgewater crew, and what could possibly compete with that? After all, "love does not die."
After reading Feel again and Breathe again I didnt think I could shed any more tears. Oh how wrong I was. I was gutted, a blubbering mess. Willa, beautiful Willa haunted by a painful past and her Viking in shining armour Barrett who was passionate, loyal and smouldering with sexiness. Together can they fight their demons and find a HEA. This was such a beautiful read.
I don't have enough words to express how good this book is. Wow, Devin did it again.
I fell in love with Bridgewater after reading Live Again, fell even harder after reading Breathe Again, and now my whole heart is in Bridgewater thanks to Feel Again. Willa and Barrett's love story is poignant and steamy and absolutely wonderful in every way. If you haven't read these books yet, what are you waiting for?!
Willa is so relatable. I cried and cheered for her. She has a huge heart and so much to give to those she loves, including the many fur babies she helps take care of at the animal shelter at which she volunteers. Her trauma and struggles resonated with me beyond anything I've read. Devin has a talent for writing about the hard things in life while still giving readers the HEA they crave. There's so much beauty and strength even where there is pain, and Willa exemplifies this.
Barrett is so, so, so hot. I want a Barrett. I NEED a Barrett! But he's also so much more. He's intuitive. He has a quiet and intelligent watchfulness, acting as a natural observer who understands the nuances of those around him. His care for Willa and his focus on bringing her happiness and helping her let go of her fear was pure beauty. Did I mention he's a veterinarian at the clinic at which Willa volunteers? Seriously, they're perfect for each other.
Devin breathes life into characters. In fact, I'm halfway convinced the people in the Bridgewater trilogy are real and these books are actually biographies. Her attention to detail and character growth is THAT good. The new characters introduced in Feel Again are fantastic. Devin always showcases loyal and supportive female friendships...and I'm dying for books about Willa's compatriots, Junie and Minty! Beloved characters from the first two novels make an appearance as well. I can never get enough of Mara, Zale, Olivia, Bex and Rhys :)
This trilogy shows the strength of love and family, including found family. Love will get you through. As Bex, Mara and Willa learned, "love is the answer to fear."
I’ve said it over and over, but Devin Sloane is seriously one of the most talented authors out there! Her stories are so unique and I treasure them all. Every time I finish reading one of her books, I am compelled to reach out to her just to thank her for writing stories that soothe my soul.
From the first book to the last, this series has blown me away! This is one of those series that I'm sad to see end, even though I'm very satisfied with how things worked out. It was one hell of a ride, but I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. I loved it!
What can I say about Feel Again?
This is the last book in the series and this conclusion reached and surpassed all my expectations !
I don’t want to spoil this story for anyone so my review will be very short and to the point. I’m also not going to talk about the actual storyline because I want it to be a surprise for all readers like it was for me. Trust me, you’ll thank me later when you get to all the twists, turns, and revelations.
I fell in love with both Willa and Barrett in the first two books and rooted for them. I really wanted them to get their HEA. The relationship they have is unique. Their love is epic. Their chemistry is explosive. Their banter is hot and delicious. When they are near each other, you can practically cut the tension with a knife and feel the earth shift beneath your feet.❤🔥
You know that moment when you finish a book and you realize you don’t live in that world and you actually have a real life. That’s how I felt. And then I realized that I was so engrossed in the lives of the characters and so hypnotized by the story that I forgot to live my life. I was doing my chores on autopilot and I couldn't wait to get rid of all the people around me to get back to my book.
I highly recomment this poignant and powerful read. I loved the writing style, loved the characters and the storyline had me riveted and I was consumed with it step of the way!❤
While this story is mainly focused on Willa and Barrett many other relationships are folded into this storyline, one of them is between Junie and Lenny.
Willa is Mara’s little sister and Barrett is Rhys younger brother and they made appearances in both previous books. The beginning of this story may seem a bit like déjà vu if you are reading the books in order some of the dialogue and events are repeated in this story.
All three of these books deal with deep dark issues that are not the norm in many romance novels. The author is very good at taking you deep into the dark psyche of these damaged ladies and making their, pain yours. That said, I think the author would benefit from an editor to help trim some of the fat and remove the repetitive elements that bog the story down. I feel doing this would pick up the pacing of the story and have a greater impact to showcase a very talented writer that knows how to make her characters burrow deep into your consciousness and make you share in their pain, revel in their victories and swoon with their heat.
The men in her stories while their physical descriptions make them very appealing it’s also their flaws that make them come to life. Their willingness to go through the darkness with their ladies, being man enough to ask for help when they are lost, admitting their mistakes are all of the things that give them dimension.
“Whatever it takes…Push, Pull, Hogtie has been these ladies motto throughout these stories…and what a beautiful loving tribe they are. Rebecca/Bex, Mara, Willa, Junie and Minty their friendship and ride till we die bond has been beautifully woven into the fabric of this series.
So while for me this book didn’t have the intensity of the other storylines, it was the wonderful relationships and at times heartbreaking journey of the characters that made me keep this review at a 4 star.
I received an ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.
I don’t have words for the beauty of Feel Again. The conclusion to the Bridgewater trilogy delivers all the emotion and a happy ending that will make your heart sing.
Here are some of my favorites parts:
🔥 Willa, in all her glory. I don’t think I’ve ever related to a character as much as Willa. She’s loyal and stubborn, caring and cautious. The trauma she faced, her relationship with her mom…all of it made me cry for her. But she is so much more than her pain and regrets. She is a beautiful soul, a wonderful sister and friend. She is resilient, loving and absolutely perfect for Barrett.
🔥Speaking of Barrett…wow. Just wow. He is a sexy, gentle, animal-loving Viking. The whole package. I love the portrayal of his character. He’s quietly watchful and profoundly empathetic. He SEES the things people don’t want others to see, which makes him a perfect partner for Willa. He’s also a bit of a bossy pants…in the sexiest of ways 🥵
🔥Friendships and found family. Devin is a MASTER at writing emotion and connection, and she never skimps on secondary characters. We get to know (and fall in love with) Bex, Rhys, Mara and Zale in the first two books, so there are layers of character development for them that get added to in Feel Again, but I also fell head over heels for new characters. As always, Devin writes rock-solid female friendships. I want to claim Willa’s gal pals, Junie and Minty, as my besties. And add in Barrett’s hot bandmates? Swoon 🥰
I cannot recommend this trilogy enough. These characters stole my heart, and I never want it back. If you haven’t visited Bridgewater yet, seriously…what are you waiting for?
Oh my gosh.... wow.... this book.... Barrett... big sigh...
I was really looking forward to Willa and Barrett's story from the beginning when they first met in Bex and Rhys's story. It certainly didn't disappoint.
Barrett just stole the whole book I have to say. A gentle giant of a viking lol. Wow and he is the lead singer in a band..... could he get any better, again wow, simply wow.
The whole way through this book Barrett just read Willa so so very well and it was just so heart warming in how he went about worming his way into her life and getting her to love him. I mean how could Willa not fall in love with this guy.
Willa, oh Willa. I just wanted to give her a hug so many times throughout this beautifully written book. My heart went out to her through this book and I am so so glad she worked through her issue's and gave Barrett a chance. To learn more of her early years was great to fill in her background.
This book gave me all the feels. My emotions were everywhere and yes I needed a few tissues's here and there throughout this book. I think when I do a reread I will need to highlight all the beautiful things that Barrett and Willa said to one another, they were just so beautiful.
The last couple of chapters were, just amazing and I was so so proud of Willa. I think we all need friends like Mara and Bex plus Junie and Minty. Lenny and Lucky also brought a new aspect to the story.
Barretts parents were so lovely with Willa. My heart melted how they were with her. Again big sigh....
I have to say Zale stepped up for me in this story. To find out more of the early years and how much Zale was apart of Willa's life and his part in it was amazing. Oh my gosh, he took my breath away on how protective he was of her.
The only thing missing, for me, there was no epilogue. I feel for these two an epilogue with Barrett and Willa say 8 months along would have been a beautiful way to finish their story off. Seeing how Willa was with their situation.
Devin has written 3 books that have totally shattered me and then put me back together is such different ways. Seriously blown me away with her writing with these 3 beautiful books. Devin made me look at three different stories with such a different view. These books have been a breath of fresh air.
I received a free copy of this book from the author and I voluntarily leave an honest review.
I really enjoyed reading Fell Again!! Like it’s predecessors, Feel Again tackle female relationships in a really mature and heartwarming way.
Feel again is an absolutely swoon worthy romance that really deals with past trauma in a sensitive way and Willa and Barrett’s story is executed beautifully.
I personally really enjoyed how well this fit in with the other books in the series and enjoyed to see how every puzzle piece fit together. Feel Again is like the cherry on top of a really well executed and beautifully well written series.
If you want o read anything that will make you feel things, definitely check out the entire Bridgewater series and anything by Devin!
Book: Feel Again Author: @devinsloane.author My Raiting: 5⭐
Extract from blurb:
Haunted by the past, thirty-two-year-old Willa Wells has worked hard to attain a modicum of peace in her life. She has her own place, a good job, plans for her future, close friends, and a small family that means the world to her. Her life is full and she won’t allow anything to disrupt it, especially not for a chance at a happily ever after she doesn’t believe in.
My thoughts 💭
I was lucky enough to have been trusted to Beta Read for Devin when she had finished writing this book. I'm so blessed by her and her generosity.
Firstly I'd like to say how lovely Devin is as a person. She cares so much about her readers and has been so lovely to talk to these last few months.
Please don't hesitate to contact her if you are interested in her work!
Now onto feel again.
So I read this book out loud to my husband when we were going through a really tough time.
Its actually scary how many of the events that happened in the book had happened in one way or another to one of us throughly our lives.
Devin handles difficult subject matters with grace and a humility that is astounding.
Obviously I fell in love with Barrett, who couldn't! Music loving, animal adoring Viking.
But for me it was Curly's friends that absolutely astounded me. They were the types of friends I wish I had in my life.
This has been another powerful novel by Devin and I'm already bulk buying the tissues ready for the next one.
TW. Mental health issues, childhood trauma, loss of life.
Book 3 in the Bridgewater series and we finally have my favourite Willa with her story. This is a LONG book, it goes right back to the start of Willa and Barrett, recounting parts of book 1 and book 2 from another view. I loved seeing this all taking place this way. We had our favourite other 4 characters from the first 2 books (and I'm pleased to report I have forgiven Mara and Zale for their behaviours in book 2 and I'm back loving them. Not only these guys to love here but also 2 new female and male characters, could these give us some more books... This series deals with some tough issues, I feel like they are getting tougher in each book. This time there is mention of abortion which may be triggering for readers so please be prepared. I think its handled really well and I am so glad Willa now has so much support around her. I really liked Rhys in book 1 but the Viking, aka Barrett, has definitely knocked him out of poll position. Lots of steamy scenes in this one, if you thought the others were hot, this ones on fire! I cant wait to read more by Devin!
If you've read the first two Bridgewater novels, you would know that Willa has a dark past, suffering a horrible upbringing. She is a survivor of a narcissistic mother, a father who let her mother run the show and because of that she still struggles to know her worth. We learn some really heartbreaking things about Willa. But we also get to witness her redemption.
From the moment Barrett met Willa, he knew she was end game. But it didn't come without many many struggles. We learn that Barrett has some ghosts of his own. Although I think it helped him be the man that Willa needs and deserves. I loved Barrett. I loved his commitment to staying true to Willa, his family and himself.
While their story was heartbreaking, there was lots and lots of healing. I couldn't imagine a better ending to the Bridgewater Series than Willa and Barrett's story.
And seriously, I fell in love with Zale all over again in this book. He has always been SO good to Willa. And this book just showed even more how caring of a man he is. In reality, all of the people Willa surrounds herself with are absolutely amazing. I hope in the future we get more Minty and Junie.
Devin absolutely did it again. I continue to be blown away with her stories. I sit absolutely entranced in each one, and Barrett and Willa are no different.
I cannot say it enough, the detail in her stories is extraordinary and make reading her novels so much fun. The characters all tie in together, and it’s so nice seeing Rhys, Bex, Zale and Mara so happy. Barrett is everything, and I’m pretty sure he’s mine now. I’ve claimed him. He’s perfect for Willa and I couldn’t be happier with their story.
As always, Devin touches issues that are important. This one was different and not an illness like the first two stories in the series. With that said, this was still so important. Willa, that sweet, strong girl has been through it. Her story is so touching and Devin’s writing made it impossible to not feel her pain.
I’m so excited to see what Devin does next, and hoping that the Bridgewater Series isn’t over. I’d recommend this series to anyone wanting to read interconnected, heartwarming, women’s romance with spice!
My, oh my, I thought Rhys was my favorite Bridgewater hero, but Barrett has stolen my heart. And since I’m mono monogamous, sorry Rhys, you’ve got to go. Barrett. This man. Gah! So patient with so much goodness and a heart as big of the sky, and when he knows what he wants, he goes after it. He may look like a Viking, but he's long-suffering and gentle and so innately kind, and Willa doesn’t stand a chance.
Willa is a skittish one, but she has her reasons for her well-ordered, careful life. She has a family bound by blood and found through love, and anything that might change her safe, orderly world makes her anxious. But there's something about Barrett that calls to her, and the veterinarian with the talent for soothing a frightened animal knows just how to deal with this kind, careful woman with hidden wounds.
In a sky full of talent in contemporary romance, this rising star shines brightly with this third offering in the Bridgewater series. There's no greater joy for me, as a reader, than finding a new author I can watch grow in her craft. The heart of a writer shows through in her writing, and her motivation for sharing her words with the world quickly becomes apparent. Sloane bares her soul through her characters, and their stories are exquisite agony, quiet triumph, and uplifting inspiration.
If you’re looking for something different in your romance reading, something special, something more, this is the one for you. These characters are so authentic, raw, and vulnerable, you'll feel like you’ve known them forever, and the overwhelming heart of this story will give your own the most delicious workout. Here’s your chance to find an author whose words you can follow and enjoy throughout your life, so run to the 1-Click and fall in love with Willa and Barrett today!
P.S. Rhys, I’m really not kicking you to the curb, but let's keep that between us.
. "𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈 𝐚𝐦, 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞...𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰, 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫" . I don't have a complicated check list when it comes to the books I read. I know what I like, I know what I want, I know exactly what I'm looking for . Devin, with her Bridgewater Series has given me everything and more. She has broken me, but in the most beautiful way . Book 3 gives us Willa and Barretts story and it did not disappoint. Willa, with her severe emotional reactions, being raised by a narcissistic mother, and her anxieties linked to a trauma in her past, doesn't believe she deserves a chance at happiness and has very little in the way of self worth . Enter Barrett. For the love of all that's holy I LOVED Barrett, a big, tattooed, Viking God with a heart of gold and a kinky side that made me weak at the knees. He more than caught my attention in book one. Barrett SEES Willa and isn't afraid to scale her walls. He sees her worth, he sees her pain, he sees everything she has to give and he wants nothing more than to care for her - he just needs to convince her that they can make it . These two. They broke me, they put me back together, then they broke me again. Their chemistry was electric, their story was both heart breaking and heart warming. They deserved their HEA and with the help of characters I've come to love in Mara, Zale, Bex and Rhys and battling Willas demons together, they got it - and I FELT it. In my heart, in my soul, in my stomach and when I read the last line, in my throat . If you love older MCs, hard subjects tackled with grace and sensitivity, all things spicy, viking gods and everything in between - then this could be the series for you . Devin, thank you, thank you, thank you - a million times thank you 🖤
Ok where to begin... so I've deemed Willa and Barrett the pixie and the viking!!! We saw a brief glimpse of Willa through out book 1 & 2 but man alive as I feel in love with the Bridgewater series along the way book 3 BLEW my mind!!! Barrett has the true patience of a saint and Willa even though mental abused by a narcissistic mother and bad relationship she find it in her to come to love this beautiful beast of a man!!!
