Alex has been given strict orders – orders he can’t escape from. He has to infiltrate the elusive organization known as the Armageddon, and find out whatever he can about it’s smuggling operations. As Alex takes on the mission, one thing soon becomes clear. Something dark is at play here. The organization is involved in things that Alex couldn’t even imagine.
But Alex doesn’t have the time to think about that. Right now, he only has one thought on his mind; surviving in a place like this. He has to stay hidden, because exposure means certain death. But things are not as easy as they seem.
He has never met a foe like this before. Will he manage to survive in this dark place? Or is early death meant to be his fate?

Under Payne
Alex is still tracing leads that the drowning case brought up. A dangerous organization with deep roots. He’s lucky he can react quickly because a lesser man would be in the morgue. But his fast acting allowed him to miss the Bullet meant for his head. Plus all the others bullets spraying around him making it very difficult to leave. But he figured it out is fortunate to get to a friends house before dying from lack of blood. But the worst is not behind him after he recovers his director doesn’t ask but tells him he has to go under cover to find who is head of Armageddon. He doesn’t want to do it but he will lose his job if he doesn’t. He has to lose weight due his hair before taking up the persona of this fictional person. He behinds yo hate himself as he does things he hates in order to move up the ranks to get close to the boss. It gets even more nerve raking as they drag in someone who was lurking around Can’t spoil for you so grab the book. I received a arc copy for my honest opinion. I also purchased the book. So stop reading review and read the book

FBI Agent Alex Payne is on a mission to take down the Armageddon gang, when he's ambushed and shot in the arm. Escaping the scene he drives to another Agent, Soriya, who notifies their immediate boss, Crow and gets Alex to hospital.
While there he's visited by Crow, who tells him he's to go undercover to infiltrate Armageddon in disguise as 'Johnny Limes', as soon as possible.
Why is Alex so reluctant to take on the mission?
As Alex moves up the organisation's ranks, he has to perform repugnant acts that increase his flashback nightmares about (Agent) Gina, whom he believes he got killed because of him.
What happens when Alex (as Johnny), saves the life of Armageddon's boss?
A rather formulaic spy-thriller, along the lines of a watered-down James Bond, (Alex can't speak anything else but English, his Cockney persona is penetrated by a casual encounter and he gets nauseous even after beating someone up, let alone when he sees someone's corpse, let alone when a former workmate is killed in front of him).

Book 2 in this series picks up where book one left off and continues to keep you on the edge of your seat!
All I can say is Wow! When we left off FBI agent Alex Payne had just come out of a meeting when a gun was placed to his head. Fighting the assailant off, he manages to escape, but not before he is wounded. Managing to get to a friend's who gets him to the hospital before he dies from losing so much blood. When he recovers, his boss, Crowe forces him to go undercover and find out who is the head of the elusive underground criminal organization called Armageddon. Changing his appearance, he obeys his boss and gets involved in some very precarious situations. This means his very survival. With lots of twists and turns and edge of your seat action, you are taken to a cliff hanger ending. What is going to happen next? Will Alex finally meet his end? This is a very exciting thrilling series! I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

The second installment of the series starts up where the first book left off. So if you are starting the series with this book, you'll definitely want to go back and read the first one, as you will miss a lot if you don't. This series is meant to be read in order.
Book 1 ended with Alex having a gun to his head. He manages to escape, but is wounded in the process and somehow makes it to the hospital. There he is given an assignment from his boss to infiltrate an underground crime organization. As Alex takes on this new challenge, danger is not far behind and he must do what he can to complete his mission and survive. Action, suspense, and drama will keep you on the edge of your seat and you won't be able to put this down until you are finished. Such an exciting series, can't wait to read the next one!

I received an ARC for an honest review.
As the last story ended, Payne had just come out from a meeting with Frederick when he was accosted by an individual who was going to kill him. Payne gets into a fight with this individual and manages to escape, but he was wounded. After spending time in the hospital, when he returned to work, his boss Crowe, told him that he needed to go undercover and infiltrate "Armageddon" the organization responsible for the killing of an agent in the last book.
This story follows Payne as he tries to advance to a higher level in the organization so that he can fulfill his mission. It has him doing things that he would not normally do.
To discover Payne's journey in the organization and what he has to do to advance upward, then you need to read this book. It will leave you wanting more.

Under Payne: a suspenseful FBI crime thriller Novella (Alex Payne Series Book 2), my thirty-fourth read from author Audrey Walker. A 86-page page-turning read that I finished easily in just over an hour. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book back in November of 2021 and am just now getting around to reading it and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author with Real Payne: a suspenseful FBI crime thriller Novella (Alex Payne Series Book 3) next on my TBR list. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

I received a complimentary copy of the second dark episode in this crime thriller series, in return for an objective review. Under Payne has plenty of suspense, threats, twists and turns. I was quickly drawn into the storyline and kept engaged right to the cliff hanger end. I’m already looking forward to reading the next in the series. However, poor grammar, and editing, has again stopped me awarding this latest novella a 5 star review.

This second volume of the Alex Payne series is once again full of action and drama. Written as a serial series, much in the style of the old 1940's and 50's movie serials it takes the reader on a roller coaster of possibilities as the story unfolds. Without revealing the plot, I can say this is better read after reading the novella "Payne" the first of the series. It will definitely keep you enthralled! I received an Arc and this us my honest review of this book.

In book 2 of the series, Alex is in a lot of danger. He goes undercover and has to do things that he wouldn’t ordinarily do to advance to the top of the organization. This plot is so well written and intriguing. There’s drama, suspense, and lots of action and twists. There’s a cliffhanger. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for Alex next. *this honest review is based on a complimentary copy from the author*

This is one thrilling book!! It’s exciting from page 1 until the end!! Can’t wait to see what’s gonna happen next! Alex has dug quite a hole for himself, and there is no way out but to continue on. Like it or not!!! Miss Walker is quite the seamstress sewing this storyline together like a ball gown!!

Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.

Well Done.
The plot thickens and the a d this thriller just gets better and better in every chapter. We have a reluctant hero,who knows that sometimes you have to get in the mud with criminals. The writing is just stellar! We get a story that moves at a pace as if you are watching the events unfold. This is just a really good story,without being too much to consider.

What an awesome and interesting story! I kept wondering when the spy would be captured and killed! However, I found that the more of the story I read the more interesting it became. Of course, at the end of the story the more interesting it became! I can't wait to begin the next in the series!!

Alex is undercover and it’s one thing after another as he tries to find out more information. But will he be able to get anything before they get him or will he die trying? This is a great novella series.

Have read and enjoyed this part Two of the series of novellas making up' the Payne disclosure' another action thrill packed story of FBI agent Alex battling away to overcome minor parts of the overall picture.

Payne manages to escape but gets shot in the arm that has hit an artery. He has help getting to the hospital. He leaves the hospital against medical orders. His bosses are forcing him to go under cover again to infiltrate the gang Armageddon. A fast-paced novel that gets your heart racing.

A Good read.
I enjoyed this story because it was well written. The characters were interesting and entertaining. Alex is forced to go undercover and experiences stress.
