When Audra is transported back in time to ancient Scotland and the MacClaren Keep, she finds herself stuck between identical twin MacClaren brothers, one who is keeping a dark secret…
Undergrad student Audra arrives at the Weatherby Hotel thrilled to be spending the summer away from her overbearing and strict parents. But when she ventures outside through a thick fog, she emerges hundreds of years in the past and comes face to face handsome identical brothers who seem to think she’s someone named Annie.
Twins Brian and Duncan MacClaren are as unwelcome as they are inseparable. On top of their return to the Keep being poorly received, Brian is carrying a sad secret—his wife Annie committed suicide two years ago, for reasons he cannot understand. But Duncan knows, and if the truth ever comes out, he’s certain Brian will kill him. So when they find Audra—the spitting image of Annie—wandering the moors in the fog, both are thrown by their deep feelings for the time-lost woman.
While Audra struggles to accept the reality of her new life in the past, she’s also at the center of romantic advances from both brothers. They may look identical, but their personalities couldn’t be more different, and Audra isn’t sure who to trust, especially when she’s hiding the fact that she’s a pagan during a time when witch hunters still roam the moors. When Duncan’s dark secret is finally revealed, Audra must fight not only for her own life but also for the life of the man she loves—who looks exactly like the one endangering them.

Another amazing book by Ms. Preston. This time two twin brothers were involved and our fearless time traveling heroine was delightful. All in all this book is a win and it had me from the get go. I can't wait to see what the characters in Ms. Preston's next book get up to. This was a fabulous read.
"Highlander Uncovered" is another installment in Rebecca Preston's Scottish Time Travel Romance Series. I always enjoy getting lost in one of Rebecca Preston's stories. The characters are great, even the undesirable ones, and the story has action, suspense, and a budding romance. As the series continues it is always great to see the other time traveling women and get caught up on where they are in their lives. I enjoyed seeing Audra being able to come into her own as well as watch her relationship with Brian. The twist and deceit of Duncan's secret added another element to the story that kept the pages turning.

Scotland Present and Past:
The heroine of this story is Audra Kendall who was brought up by loving, overprotective, parents, but could not cut the apron strings at all! She had not even had a date in high school or has even held a boys hand in her entire life! They both were definitely over the top, with her father teaching her self defense and her mother filling her head with frightening stories where boys are nothing, but sexual predators and shameless seducers that get girls pregnant and then leave them like a piece of trash! They never spoke of love or an equal partnership with common interests in a male and female relationship. So after Audra graduates and before she becomes an architect, she lands a wonderful opportunity to come to Scotland for the summer! Again her parents rain on her parade, even though she is a legal adult now, to only stay in Scotland for a month. Her mother loves givingAudra big guilt trips too!
When Audra first arrives in Scotland, her restless spirit takes a walk, but she get lost in the fog and ends up in historic Scotland! Not only that but finds herself seeing double, looking at two incredibly handsome men. She soon learns they are identical twins Brian and Dougal MacClaran, she also learns they are on their way to MacClaran castle. A castle that was only a ruin in the present time in the twenty first century which is very confusing. On top of that she discovers she looks exactly like Brian MacClaran’s dead wife. Evidently this is also a common occurrence for American women to end up time travelers in historic Scotland. She soon meets the American women who also seem to be the reincarnation of the women who died that they look exactly like. This also include the Laird’s wife Fiona, at first Audra does not believe the twins, but after meeting the other intelligent women who also had the similar experiences, she has no choice, but to believe she has traveled through time and is now in the sixteenth century and falling for Brian MacClaran. She and the American time travelers all become fast friends something Audra never had before due to her parents interference and paranoia. Not only that they all have a lot in common yet also a fascination with the supernatural too.
Audra discovers some witches curse who had been rejected from a previous Laird eons ago caused this time travel experience to happen. Except she felt guilty and tries to reverse the spell but died in the process, so this witch is somewhat of a matchmaker too it seems. Therefore every American time traveler is some Highlander’s lost love and gets a second chance with their lost loves doppelganger! These American women become a coven, but only to help the past with their future knowledge. They must be extremely careful as they are in the time where there are witch hunters who would kill them because of their abilities and future knowledge.
Brian and Dougal have only been recently allowed back in the clan, as in the past they were known as sly tricksters. Except it is all happening again except Audra who is falling for Brian realizes it is only one brother who is doing these evil deeds, but blaming an innocent brother! The problem is the clan thinks it’s the innocent brother, because the brother uses his name and being identical twins it is difficult to determine who is the liar and who is telling the truth. Audra is trying to figure out how to protect the man she falling in love with and have the clan blame the real assailant-not the innocent victim! However Brian always defends his brother thinking he’s only taking a joke so far. He doesn’t see how dangerous his brother really is and what he is really doing! It just might cause Brian real harm in the near future and possibly put Audra in the line of fire!
What shall Audra do? Does she have the ability to save Brian when the entire clan blames him for the misdeeds? Plus could it be Brian who is making it look like it’s Dougal? Can Audra find a way back to the future, to the place she calls home or stay in the past with the man she loves forever? Read and find out what decision Audra picks and what will become of her future. Does she even survive in the past with so many arrows that are pointed against her in such a dangerous time? Read and find out the results of Audra’s future in historic Scotland!
Again Rebecca Preston pens another magical time travel romance that Scottish paranormal readers will absolutely love! It isthat will keep readers glued to their seat! Another captivating story that I couldn’t put down! Again I was both spellbound and mesmerized and can’t wait for the next Rebecca Preston book in this phenomenal series!

Rebecca Preston’s “Highlander Uncovered: A Scottish Time Travel Romance is Book 11 in the Highlander In Time series.
Audra has lived a sheltered life though she was unsure why her parents were so over protective. This trip to Scotland was one looked forward to, to spread her wings so to speak. She realized when she got lost in the fog that she would be transported 500 years into the past. Brian and Duncan MacClaren, identical and inseparable twins had been outcast from their clan are returning home to castle MacClaren when they happen upon Audra, the spitting image of Brian’s wife who committed suicide two years ago.
The author creates interesting characters with diverse personalities. I just loved Audra. It was so good to see her come into her own. Gone was the naive, sheltered young woman and in her place stood an astute, strong and competent young woman willing to fight for the man she loved.
With a good storyline, well paced plot filled with some heart wrenching twists and turns, deception, a bit of suspense and mystery as lagniappe and a steamy love story, the author renders a fine story. All of these things together make this a captivating, page turning story. I enjoyed how the woman accepted her into the fold and their friendships. I love the time travel concept and I always enjoy Rebecca Preston’s books.
Thank you so much Ms. Preston for this heartwarming love story and intriguing reading adventure.
Another page turner from Rebecca Preston in her Highlands In Time series. Audra has lived an incredibly sheltered life and just when she thinks she will get a taste of freedom from her parents, she is thrown back in time to medieval Scotland. That's one way to get out from her parent's grasp. There she is rescued by two men, identical twins, Brian and Duncan MacClaran. As always, these women thrown back in time resemble a dead partner of a MacClaran man and Audra looks just like Brian's dead wife. When they get to the Keep, she meets the other 21st century women and finds out how they have adapted, in fact thrived, in this century. As she is settling in, Brian is accused of all sorts strange happenings, but Audra is not so sure it's him. Audra is a strong and certainly growing independent women. The books is well paced, steamy, has some twists and turns, and a few surprises. Each of these books has there own unique twist and fortunately you can read all eleven book in this series for FREE with your subscription to KU. I've loved them all.

Burdened by the overprotection of her parents, Audra sees her chance and throws herself into what she hopes will be a great adventure away from them. Well, it was an adventure but not the one she expected but a journey through time and in the middle of a dangerous situation that it seems she was an important piece in the intriguing situation. This story is different from that of the other time-traveling women. I felt sorry for Brian who seemed blind to what was happening with his brother. Audra's insight was interesting because despite the self-doubts created by her parents, she quickly understood the situation in which she was involved and showed ability to handle it. I liked the fraternization with the other women at the Keep. Action, suspense, deception, evil, danger, romance and passion.
Audra had grown up with parents who controlled every part of her life, and everything she wanted to do. Discovering an opportunity to work in Scotland for summer she takes the opportunity to finally be free. Taking a walk in the fog she is transported to the past meeting twins Brian and Duncan.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this engaging, entertaining, and compelling story of time travel. There's plenty of twists, turns and obstacles that arise that Audra has to overcome. The story is well written, fast paced, with lots of chemistry between Audra and Brian, there's lies, betrayals, manipulation, plots, mystery, revelations, family secrets, protectiveness, revenge, passion, flirtations, passionate scenes, kindness, understanding, friendship, and love. There's an HEA ending.
Audria is an undergraduate student who has been sheltered by her parents for her whole life. She seeks a little independence and convinces her parents to let her go to Scotland to work over the summer. She does not expect to be sent back in time to medieval Scotland
Brian and Duncan are twin brothers. They meet Audria not long after she is transported back in time and they take her to the castle.
As Audria gets used to being in the past she also has to work out what is going on with Brian and Duncan. This is a good story with a little action, deceit, suspense danger and romance.

I did enjoy this one, although I did have a few problems with it. When Brian and Duncan stumble across Audra, they know exactly what is going on, although they have been exiled from the castle for a while. I suppose it could be argued that they were aware of the time travellers before their exile but this is not clear and seems a little flimsy to me. I has also grasped the crux of the plot right from the start, although I still enjoyed reading it. Maybe I struggled a little more with this one because I could not identify with Audra, who went from very over protected young women to very independant in the space of a few days? Depsite these aspects, it remains a fun read.
When Audra is thrown back in time , lost and disoriented she's found by the the Maclaren twins, Brian and Duncan Brian is convinced she is his late wife come back to him , Duncan is cagey about it ..Slowly Brian and Audra begin to develop feelings for each other. This book had me all over the place trying to second guess the author I thought I knew exactly where the story was going and then Rebecca threw a curveball into the mix Another thoroughly good read from Rebecca......

Audra and Brian really do seem to be meant for each other. I found the whole Brian/Duncan identical-twin-thing to be a unique twist. While the challenges of landing the past are smoothed over by many of the ladies showcased in previous books, it was the disruptive events around in the keep that made things interesting. In the end, things sorted out into a HEA once all was revealed.

Audra is swept back in time and faces twin brothers that are hiding secrets. They recognize her as someone named Annie and the identical brothers both have history with Annie. Between the dangers of time that include witch burnings and being torn between the brothers she's in the midst of the real adventure. Fun story with great characters and a danger-tinged adventure. Great time travel and fast paced read.
I enjoyed this book. I thought this was another very solid entry for this series. The combination of romance, suspense, action, emotion and danger was very easy to get caught up in. I liked Audria and the twins and found their story intriguing and engaging. All together, a very good read. I am electing to post a forthright review.
This wonderful book will keep you riveted from the start. I loved how Brian and Audra were able to be on the same page and didn’t let anyone get between them, even though they tried. You won’t be disappointed with this book, it will keep you coming for more.

I knew what Duncan had done to Annie from the hebegebbies his words gave me. Raised my ire against him for the way he was ruining Brian's life. I liked the story otherwise, just didn't like that it involved twins. The other stories were better in my opinion. To have twin kill his own likeness is just wrong.
Excellent time travel story. A 21st Century woman travels back in time to the Scottish Highlander era. She meets identical twins where one is good and one is evil. It keeps you turning pages with the romance, suspense, intrigue, and mystery. I received a complimentary copy of the book and chose to write a review.
Arc review For honest Review. Aura Kendall was a sheltered young woman by her parents till they allowed her to go to weatherby manor in Scotland on a holiday program .when she gets lost and ends up back in the past she finally gets to make choices for herself. Awesome story with a big twist.
I love these books but I’m sorry to say that they’ve become a bit formulaic. That won’t stop me from reading them, but I wish there was more of a surprise about with whom the time traveling lady will end up.
I have enjoyed this book. Audra had a experience going back in time and Brian was meant for her. I figured that Duncan had done something to Anna by the way he acted.
I found this book hard to read. It seemed to go on and on. Maybe it disappointed me because I can't tolerate evil. This book wasn't up to the standard of the rest of the series. I won't be reading any more of this series.
Audra left a sheltered protected life with overly protective parents to work abroad in Scotland. When she sets off for a walk on the grounds of her new job she never could’ve imagined walking 500 years into the past. Thru the fog she is found by two identical Scottish brothers. She learns of a curse that dooms the relationships of all MacClaren men to lose their loves in tragedy, but they will be returned to them in time. This is true of Brian’s wife who died and whom Audra resembles. Love blooms but is overshadowed by the antics of Brian’s twin brother Duncan, who likes to allow everyone to believe he is Brian while behaving horrendously.
I enjoyed the story, the twists and turns keep you wondering. Even allowing that glimmer of doubt, wondering who really is the the good brother. Are you being duped?
