Nobody Does It Better

Rate this book
A billionaire hell bent on transforming a sleepy coastal town.
The hometown girl determined to do whatever it takes to stop him.

Peyton Bishop has big plans and big dreams when it comes to leaving her mark on Magnolia Sound. Her great-grandfather founded the coastal town and every generation before her has left their stamp. Now it’s her turn. But just as she takes the leap and makes plans to build her own restaurant, a sexy business mogul buys her dream property right from under her.

Ryder Ashford knows a good thing when he sees it, and he knows he’s found a gem with Magnolia Sound. He just needs to get the small town up to his standards first. He’s received nothing but praise from the locals so far, but that’s about to change because the bratty and beautiful café owner whose property he just snatched isn’t shy about calling him out on his plans. He should be annoyed she’s getting in his way, but he enjoys their verbal sparring too much.

Ryder’s a man who goes after what he wants, and what he wants is the best.
He never thought that would turn out to be the one woman standing between him and his dreams.

I listened to this on audio. I absolutely love Carly Robins' narrations This is 3rd person POV.
Carly does all the voices so well. I especially love the haughty woman's voice (Ryder's mom & Peyton's mom too!) Peyton, the Heroine is kinda snarky and feisty. Are those the same thing?
The Hero, Ryder is a richy rich guy that comes to town to buy up all the property.
Of course, Ryder & Peyton fight over the same property. Ryder swooped in while Peyton was planning to expand her restaurant business.
I'm new to this series. Book 9 , eh? I need to go back and read the others.
Very cute story, great escape. I impulse picked this on NetGalley. I see that it's out on Hoopla too.
3.25 stars. Peyton began to show a easier to get along personality. I liked that better. She needed that to handle Ryder's mom.

Oh man. I generally enjoy Chase but this book was basically a "no" for me though other regular readers may not mind it as much. Carly Robins is a fantastic narrator though and I enjoyed her interpretation of the story. I will be looking for more books that she is involved in.
There was so much about this book that was cringe-y. Yes, there is an age gap between Parker and Ryder. How do we know? It's brought up. A lot. And Ryder sure does treat Parker like she is a little girl even though she is in her mid-twenties and is running a successful business. the two have seen each other at her family's events but they haven't interacted until he buys a business that she's been saving up for for years. And then she throws a fit. Which, okay. That makes sense. You're going in to cross the line of a goal you've had for years and someone has swooped in and taken it. So she runs and yells and then somehow falls in love after a near-death experience which culminates in a night with one bed. And, boom, relationship. One where every single male in her family seems to feel like they need to issue a warning and Ryder feels like he needs to rebuff (Patriachal Ew) instead of... maybe all of these males trusting Parker to know her own mind and stand up for what she wants.
Then Ryder reverted to treating her like a child which is very much at odds with how he is treating her otherwise. And Parker is acting more like a New Adult character than one in a Chase romance.

Peyton Bishop runs the café her grandfather left her well, but she has always dreamed of running her own place. She has been saving up for a year to put a down payment on a piece of land to start her own restaurant, but the very morning she is ready to put in the offer, she learns that newcomer to town Ryder Ashford has just bought the land. Ryder Ashford has unexpectedly come to love Magnolia Sound, and he can’t wait to build a few of his own businesses here to make the town even better. So far, everyone has been positive about the changes he plans to make. When Peyton gives Ryder an earful about his plans and how they won’t fit in with the town, Ryder decides to hire her to give input on his projects, especially the restaurant he plans to build on the land he unknowingly bought out from under her. The two must fight their attraction to each other as they attempt to work together.

Wow, Peyton was an immature brat. Honestly, I didn’t like any of the characters in this book, and that made it hard to get behind the romance. This is the first Samantha Chase book that has let me down. Obviously, I am in the minority opinion for this book, so if it sounds like a story you would like, don’t let me stop you from checking it out.

Many thanks to NetGalley for providing me an audio ARC of this book.

Nobody Does it Like You is the ninth book in Samantha Chase’s Magnolia Sound series and it features a savvy billionaire and a hometown girl with big dreams of her own.

Peyton Bishop’s desire is to be recognized for her business acumen, not her family connections or pretty face. She has transformed the Magnolia Café from a sleepy, old fashioned restaurant to a popular lunch and dinner bistro which features a mix of comfort and tavern meals with a twist.

Ryder Ashford is buying property all over Magnolia Sound; he’s renovating beach houses, buying businesses and has plans to build a huge resort. But, he’s made a huge mistake –he’s purchased a piece of property that Peyton had been saving up to buy. Ryder is all business; he’s a spreadsheet and suit and tie kind of guy. Feelings are not his forte.

Love Samantha Chase’s voice; I could feel the sexual chemistry between Ryder and Payton each time they talked to each other. Their verbal sparring sizzled with emotion. Loved that Ryder had feelings for Peyton but second guessed himself and truly had no clue how to go about romancing her. Grand gestures didn’t impress Peyton; I loved that she was able to get Ryder out of his comfort zone, to enjoy being together in the moment and to appreciate family and friends. Ryder was a black and white character until Peyton added color to his life.

Nobody Does it Better is filled with charming, insightful characters. Samantha Chase adds depth to the novel and she introduces a new story thread when she adds Ryder’s parents into the mix—I loved this plot choice. I rooted for this couple from the very beginning of the novel when Peyton sends Ryder home to change into normal clothes! I just love this stubborn, unpretentious, down to earth heroine!

Nobody Does it Better contains all of the story elements I adore— a small town setting, sensuous romance and complex family drama. Like a meal from the Magnolia café, this novel should be savored for its dynamic characters and well-paced story line!

LOVE this series! Peyton finally gets her book and when a man walks into her cafe in a tux asking for a special order who is it? Ryder Ashton, of course. He has been making himself at home in Magnolia Sound ever since he bought a home and Peyton's cousin moved in to rehab it and never moved out and now the same day Peyton plans to buy the property for her restaurant he buys the same property first. Sparks! Yes! Chemistry, you bet. Kisses to make her stop yelling at him, that does the trick. Soon they are striking a deal to work together and the rest is history. These two really are something special and what the learn from each other is spectacular. Definitely a recommendation from me. This can be read as a standalone.

Magnolia Charm

This was my first time reading this author. I really enjoyed her writing style and how her characters drew me in from page one.

I loved Peyton and Ryder. While they seem completely different, opposites attract and these two had chemistry and passion for days! While this is part of a series, which I didn't realize until after I started the book, you do not have to read the eight books prior to enjoy this one. Yes there are a couple characters mentioned towards the end that I didn't know who they were referring to, but it didn't deter from the story.

This was a vibrant book with small town enchantment and charming characters. And although I didn't start off reading book one, I'm downloading it now to read the entire series!

When Peyton finds out that the property she has saved for was sold before she could make an offer her dreams are about to go up in smoke. So when she decides to confront the man who is trying to take over the entire town, the last thing she expected was to feel more than just hatred for Ryder. But can you really sleep with the enemy? Or will Ryder's offer give everyone the exact thing they were looking for? Once again Samantha Chase combines adorable characters, a heart warming storyline and the perfect combination of love and hate. Another outstanding story in the Magnolia Sound Series!!

I loved Peyton and Ryder! I already knew them from previous books, and was so happy to see them together! Both of them had to get out of their own way, but when they did, it was glorious! Luckily, they have good friends and family who helped them get where they needed to be individually, so they could find their way to each other!

This is the 9th book in the Magnolia Sound series but the first one I've read. It was easy to read as a standalone and i'll definitely be going back to check out the other books.

I liked both Peyton and Ryder, they're ambitious and both have big plans for business. Unfortunately they both had their eye on the same property. I liked the growth that Ryder had, they helped each other grow but I like how he came around to truly being a part of the town.

Thanks to Dreamscape Media for sending me an audiobook through NetGalley in exchange for a review.

(2.5 stars)

I really wanted to like this more than I did. I liked the way Peyton challenged Ryder, who seemed like he had his life together but soon realized that maybe this wasn't the case. And it was nice how much Ryder tried to support Peyton's dreams, even if he went about it the wrong way most of the time. The supportive family surrounding Peyton was nice, with plenty of heart-to-hearts with those she loves.

With as much chemistry as these two had right from the beginning, it was like no one was on board with their relationship for the longest time - including them. Their age difference was mentioned so many times that it became jarring each time and took me out of the story. Like either you get over that and discuss any maturity/life goals/life experiences that will make starting a relationship challenging, or you let the age difference prevent you from enjoying being together. It was weird how much they focused on it... I was also not a fan of the random nicknames Ryder called Peyton before they were even close to being involved.

All of the scenes about the plane and flying were just like nope, nope, nope. Didn't seem necessary to go about it that way and it didn't end up mattering for the plot in the long run. It also bothered me that they made such a big deal about being professional and how much it meant to Peyton to not miss the first day of the show, but then easily chose to do so anyway. Again, I wanted to like this more than I did, and at least now I know this series ultimately isn't for me.

I have enjoyed all the books in the Magnolia Sound series by Samantha Chase. The characters are real, and the stories are engaging so I was looking forward to this newest book in the series.

I must admit I struggled with this one. Ryder and Peyton just did not seem to fit each other. They both had strong personalities and knew what they wanted; but when their paths crossed and their individual plans were thwarted, they were at odds. Ryder was often too arrogant for me, and Peyton seemed childish and weak at times.

This one book does not change my opinion of this series. I just did not connect with the characters and the plot as well as I have with the other books in this series.

Let me start of by saying I absolutely LOVED this book, the whole series really. Nobody Does it Better is 9th book in Samantha Chase’s Magnolia Sound series. And the series is phenomenal!! As soon as it hit my Kindle, I started reading it and did not put it down until I finished it, at about 5am.
I really love the heroine Peyton Bishop. She really seems “real” to me. A person with personal insecurities, but also a person that knows what she wants. She is a “people” person, a that knows how to read people. A person that could be a real friend. And, by the way, I still do not like her mother!!! Although, she may(???) be redeeming herself. The jury is still out. I did like finding out why she is the way she is. If she could only fix the problems, she may be a nice person.
Now, for the hero is this wonderful book, Ryder Ashford. I don’t like the way he tries to handle people. I don’t like the way “Ryder Ashford knows a good thing when he sees it, and he knows he’s found a gem with Magnolia Sound.” But then, all he wants to do is change things, the town, and the people. OH, and by the way, I really did not like his parents either. Although, Ryder’s mom did redeem herself a bit, so I am now on the fence about her. Hopefully, we will see the full transformation in future books. Now, back to Ryder. I was so glad he woke up to the error of his ways after the proverbial slap that Peyton gave Ryder. Sorry Ladies, I cannot, or rather WILL not give anything away. What would be the fun in that and ruin the book for anyone. Nope, not going to happen. I will say this, Ryder totally redeemed himself in my eyes, and if he wasn’t taken already and probably young enough to be my son…. Yeah, nope, not really an option.
Man, Samantha Chase, you really know how to write a story. You really keep us intrigued in what is going to happen next. AND right now, I NEED to know what is happening with Parker (Peyton’s sister for those of you that have not read any of the series). I can’t think of any clues Ms. Chase has given in any of the books thus far, but man, I can’t wait to find out!!!
Because of my love of reading romance, I was gifted with a copy of this book for my love of reading and my opinions on the book. I will put it this way, I already bought the audio version, and I can’t wait to listen to the story. Maybe, there was something I missed.
Thank you for reading my review. I hope reading this helped you make the decision to purchase this book. It really is a great book, so what are you waiting for? Go hit that purchase button from your favorite retailer. And when you finish, write a review and let us know YOUR thoughts on this fabulous book. Authors REALLY love it when we write reviews!! Correct, Ms. Chase???

Peyton Bishop has lived in Magnolia Sound her entire life. As the middle child, she has always done what she was supposed to and made very few waves. When her great grandfather left her the café in his will, she was cautious to take over and make it her own. And although she had made some changes and was happy with where the progress was, Peyton still dreamt of opening her own restaurant. She was finally at a place where she could move forward with the plan and prove to everyone that she could make her dreams come true.

Ryder Ashford was relatively new in town. However, he had a reputation for all things business. Ryder had bought a home on the beach and had it completely renovated - his friend Austin was currently renting it while building his own dream home. Ryder had another property which Garret was renting. And he was currently living in his third home in Magnolia Sound; this property was slated to be a rental property after he moved into the home Austin was renting. Ryder also owned the veterinarian office that Garret was managing, and had already purchased multiple acres of land that he planned to build a luxury resort on.

Peyton knew who Ryder was. In addition to his multiple business dealings around town, he was also a friend of her cousin’s, Austin and Garret. Although Ryder had been at several Coleman family celebrations, Peyton had always avoided being formally introduced to him. She found him to be extremely handsome. But, she couldn’t avoid him when he walked into her café and asked to speak with owner to order a catered meal. And, although Peyton knew exactly who he was, Ryder’s rude and condescending attitude was a big turn-off to Peyton. To add insult to injury, Peyton went to ready to purchase the land to build her own restaurant and found that Ryder had bought the exact property only hours before.

Peyton and Ryder learn to work through some of their differences and Peyton eventually agrees to work for Ryder as a consultant on his restaurant at his resort and the new restaurant in town - promising to make it her dream. However, when the permits are delayed Ryder made changes to the restaurant plans without Peyton’s knowledge, she begins to wonder if Ryder is in this relationship because he truly cares for her, or if he is simply using her. Simultaneously, Ryder’s plans for the resort are crushed when the city doesn’t approve his plans. Should he simply cut his loses with this business ventures in Magnolia Sound and his relationship with Peyton? Will they be able to navigate their way through the business dealings and find their way back to one another, or had their relationship simply run it’s course?

Peyton and Ryder’s story in Nobody does It Better, book nine in Samantha Chase’s Magnolia Sound series, is an emotional and heartwarming tale that features a confidence billionaire and a hometown girl with big dreams of her own. Peyton Bishop has always wanted to prove to everyone, especially her mother, that she is an accomplished businesswoman in her own way. She has big dreams, wanting to fulfill them without using her family’s connections or money. She has transformed the Magnolia Café from a sleepy, old fashioned restaurant into a popular lunch and dinner bistro; featuring a mix of comfort and trendy meals, all with a twist. Ryder Ashford is buying property all over Magnolia Sound; he’s renovating beach houses, buying up businesses and has plans to build a huge resort, for the wealthy. However, he made a huge mistake; he’s purchased the one piece of property that Peyton wanted and had been saving up to buy. Ryder is all business; he’s a spreadsheet and suit and tie kind of guy; he does not know how to do feelings. Meeting Ryder Ashford, a handsome billionaire, changes Peyton’s life. His arrogant, know-it-all attitude totally turns her off. Ryder’s vision for her town clashes with what she knows about the town and its residents. As a result, Peyton and Ryder clash and argue often, especially because Peyton has plans, too.

The sizzling chemistry and magnetic attraction between Ryder and Peyton is apparent each time they talked to each other. The verbal sparring between these stubborn characters explodes with their emotion. Ryder has feelings for Peyton but is constantly second guessing himself; especially because of their age difference. He was clueless on how to romancing her; his grand gestures not impressing Peyton. She wanted to be trusted and respected for her opinions and feelings.

Ms. Chase wrote a wonderful, heartwarming, feel good, small town story that is not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sizzling chemistry, clever banter, and endearing secondary characters giving Peyton and Ryder a chance at love, happiness, and a forever together. I highly recommend Nobody does It Better to other readers.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Nobody Does It Better
Magnolia Sound # 9
Samantha Chase
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

James Bond! The sexy billionaire who has taken to Magnolia Sound. He has a home built and now has his sights on a new resort, because Magnolia needs a revamp right? Aahhh no, oh and James Bond is Ryder Ashford, the man who can melt any woman’s pants off and he’s go out his eyes at on Peyton Bishop, the owner of the cute little café in town!

Peyton is the sweet Bishop, unlike her horrible mother she has time for everyone, and everyone in Magnolia loves her… but when she comes face to face with Ryder Ashford all bets are off. The man us all sexy but he’s rude and arrogant and thinks of her says jump she should reply “how high”? These two had such a great connection to each other both in love and war… kind of like live at first hate! Ryder is taken by Peyton from first glance but as he discovers this firecracker won’t bend to his demands. Where others drive at his feet Peyton pushes back and then serves more, acquiring her sills with his new endeavour in town it’s not long until Ryder takes a small piece of Peyton’s heart, work lines blur, less about what bedrooms shout be designed as and more about being in one together.

But never fear, Ryder doesn’t really change, his inner ego and take all attitude crushes Peyton in the worst way leaving an angry town and a devastated Bishop in its wake. This might just be the first time Ryder is not going to get his own way, but will he lose his plans and the best thing that’s ever happened to him…?

5 stars for Nobody Does it Better, book #9 in Samantha Chase’s Magnolia Sound series. This story is all about believing in yourself and deciding who you can trust. Peyton Bishop and Ryder Ashford have had crushes on each other from a distant. Ryder is relatively new on the scene in Magnolia Sound and he’s been welcomed with open arms by the town, half of whom are related to Peyton … so she sees him everywhere. Peyton is a small time café owner with big time plans for a restaurant of her own. She’s been saving and planning for a while … only to be beaten out at the last minute by … guess who? Ryder is from a family with more money than warmth … and he’s determined to continue to grow his riches … but he hadn’t counted on how much he instantly loved Magnolia Sound and the townspeople. Verbal fireworks happen when Peyton and Ryder collide over “her” restaurant … and they quickly discover that the fireworks can sizzle into passion. In addition to romantic interests, they are both battling family expectations, doubts, and the desire to succeed .. but at what cost? Nobody Does it Better is another faboulous Magnolia Sound story … in my opinion, one of the best. Ms. Chase’s writing style has this story as a standalone that furthers the series. If you haven’t read any other Magnolia Sound stories (ummm … where have you been?), you can read NDIB now and pick up the other stories. If you have kept up with the series, you’ll be happy to see familiar characters … and I’m hoping that Parker’s story is up next. I received an ARC and was delighted to leave this honest review!

Magnolia Sound is one of my favorite book worlds and it's such a treat to return there. Not only is it set on my beloved Carolina coast, but we finally get Peyton and Ryder's story, one I’ve been impatiently awaiting.

Peyton Bishop may be young, but she knows what she wants. Her grandfather may have left the town's diner to Peyton, but she has bigger plans. And just the fact that she's survived being affluent, snooty Georgia Bishop's child is nothing short of amazing.

Ryder Ashford is a little in love with and a lot charmed by Magnolia Sound. And the Coleman/Bishop family. He may come from money, but his success is all his own. He's already purchased several properties and has more projects planned in this small coastal town, and he may rely on his wealth and status more than he cares to admit.

When Peyton discovers Ryder has purchased the land she plans to build her new restaurant on she doesn’t hesitate to give Ryder a piece of her mind. And Ryder doesn’t know what to make of it. No one questions or crosses him, so Peyton's boldness intrigues him.

With small-town quaintness, colorful characters, and a heartfelt storyline, this sweet, humorous, heartfelt romance will sweep you off your feet. It's what you need for an entertaining escape, so make sure you don’t miss this fantastic, heart warming, feel-good read!

This is the first book of this series that I have read and am late to the party with this series but even though that is the case, it was a good read that I enjoyed from start to finish.

Ryder and Peyton's story was an enemy to lover story with characters that were polar opposites. Ryder, a wealthy real estate developer that has come to Magnolia Sound to build a hotel and got more that he expected when he teamed up with Peyton to consult on the restaurant portion of his development plans.

Peyton, a young goal driven woman who has ideas for a piece of property that Ryder bought before she was able to, feels like she has a lot to prove since she has confidence and self esteem issues goes into a partnership with Ryder to achieve some of her goals and also finds more than just a business arrangement.

These two were a well written pair that had off the charts chemistry. Their story moved along quickly and kept me interested in the story throughout. With this being the first book of the series that I have read and am behind by eight books, I didn't feel lost with the supporting characters making this a great stand alone story.

Overall, this was a good read that I enjoyed from the start. I also listened to the audio book and the narrator, Carly Robins . did a great job narrating the story and bringing this story to life. In the end, I would recommend this book to others.

Peyton Bishop's great great grandfather was one of the founders of the town where most of her family still live and run businesses he started and were eventually left to them. Peyton, who had always wanted to be a chef, inherited the cafe from her grandfather and had made it into a big success using recipes of her own and recipes handed down through the years.

Ryder Ashford is using his money to build a resort community. He has become friends with Peyton's brothers and cousins and attends many family events, but she has managed to avoid meeting him. When Ryder.comes into the cafe asking for a catered and delivered meal in four hours (after he insults her about her age) she turns him down flat. He's shocked.

When Peyton tries to buy the property she's been saving up for to start her own restaurant, she finds out that Ryder beat her to it and plans to build a high end hotel. She is devastated and doesn't hesitate to let him know; he, on the other hand, is intrigued.

Great characters, witty conversation, fun and interesting situations, interfering family, and snooty parents on both sides keep the story interesting. This is the third book in this series and I've enjoyed them all. Magnolia Sound is the place to go for a wonderful vacation.

Samantha Chase takes us on another visit to Magnolia Sound in Nobody Does It Better, her ninth book in the series. Chase does a wonderful job giving us richly-drawn settings and characters in a well-written installment that will hook you and not let go.

Peyton Bishop feels Ryder Ashford oozes confidence and has everything under control, but he needs far more than he ever dreamed. He finds what he is missing in Peyton.

Peyton has been working on proving to her family that she is smart and more than competent enough to be successful. She finds a mentor and more in Ryder, who sees the real Peyton.

"She's spent her entire life trying to blend into the background and, now that she's finally becoming the person she was always meant to be, no one knows what to do with her."

Ryder definitely knows what to do with Peyton. She brings out a side of Ryder that he thought didn't exist. He finds a sense of joy and discovery in his life through his relationship with her.

Chase develops a lovely romance with Peyton and Ryder while also bringing us up-to-date with characters from the series and grabbing our attention with Peyton's sister, Parker. I definitely look forward to her story!

I was given an advanced copy of the audio book for Nobody Does it Better by Samantha Chase, and narrated by Carly Robins through NetGalley. Carly was a wonderful pick to narrate this beautiful story. In regards to the audio book, it is important that when listening you can listen up to at least 2.0X. I typically will listen anywhere between 1.0-3.5X in an audiobook. This book was comfortable to listen to at 2.0 X.

I have not listened or read anything from Samantha Chase before, and her writing style is superb! The dedication to detail, location set up, and descriptive layout of characters and the places the characters made it so fun to listen to/ read.

This story follows Peyton Bishop and Ryder Ashford love story. It is an enemies to lovers story. I appreciated the classiness of the romance and it was not overly sexualized. It was a book/audiobook that I would feel comfortable listening or reading around anyone one. I appreciated that there was resolution through out the entire story as well as character development for Peyton and Ryder. I wish we would have gotten more chapters of the first two weeks of Peyton and Ryder after they got together, but there are some great development to their story that I really appreciated.

The below are part of this series if you want to read those books(s) first

This is the perfect title because in romance nobody does it better than Samantha Chase. She gives us stories that tug on our heartstrings and make us feel all kinds of emotions. Her characters are so relatable and down to earth which makes us feel like we know them and like they're our friends and tell me you don't want to live in Magnolia Sound. Ryder and Peyton's story was perfect! We always knew that Ryder was difficult since he knows what's best for everybody and Peyton always had a crush on him that she hid. When they're forced to see each other she finds that she doesn't really like him especially after he buys the land she was planning to build her restaurant on. She goes to let him know how she feels about the situation and he's shocked since no one usually speaks their mind to him but Peyton had no problem doing it. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You definitely need to read this book to see what happens with Ryder and Peyton. I'm looking forward to reading the next book that Ms. Chase writes since I know that it will be incredible! I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion of this book.

If you love small town romance featuring a sassy female, a billionaire with big plans and a close family, this is the book for you. As the middle child, Peyton is used to getting along with everyone even though sometimes she has to put herself last. That is until her great-grandfather left her the local cafe. As she becomes more confident in her abilities at running the cafe, she is also asserting herself more in her personal life.

Ryder has fallen in love with Magnolia Sound and the extended Coleman family - who he has met through his friendship with Austin. But even though he is successful in his business life, nothing has prepared him for the straight talking cafe owner. She challenges him and makes him take a look at his life and how he deals with people.

The attraction between Ryder and Peyton started from their first meeting and only grew stronger. As with real life, they had some ups and downs as they navigated through issues, and each of them learned things about themselves that they hadn't realized before. There was also a lot of good humor throughout the story. While this was the first book I've read in this series, I will definitely be reading more.

Nobody Does it Better is book 9 in the Magnolia Sound series. I really enjoy this series. Each book can be read as a standalone, but characters from earlier books make appearances.

Peyton has always dreamed of buying a particular piece of property and building her own restaurant from the ground up. She has planned doing this for so long and on the day she's about the cut the big check, she is told that someone else has beat her to it.

Ryder sees the perfect opportunity for business growth in Magnolia Sound, but he needs to bring it up to his standards. He has big plans and they are no where near what Peyton has in mind. Ryder enjoys Peyton's spirit and attitude and hires her to help him design his new space. Soon enough there working relationship turns into a personal relationship and the lines are getting blurred.

I love this series so much. I listened to the audio version and really liked it! I love all the characters and enjoyed following along the budding relationship of Peyton and Ryder.

Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an advanced audio version of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Nobody Does It Better is a Magnolia Sound novel by author Samantha Chase. Peyton Bishop, great granddaughter of Magnolia Sound’s founder, has vowed to make her own mark on the town. Currently she is running the Magnolia Cafe, which she inherited but has also made improvements and the business is thriving. On the very morning Peyton is set to purchase the land she has been eyeing and planning for her new restaurant, the land is snapped up by developer Ryder Ashford.

Ryder doesn’t understand why Peyton is so upset. There are plenty of other spots she could lease rather than buy. But that is not her vision, and it doesn’t seem like they see eye to eye on much. But when he makes a partnership offer and follows her lead for setting up his restaurant, including attending a convention out west and the ensuing calamities, things change, mostly for the better. But strong personalities have even stronger ideas, creating moments of drama a fits of laughter.

This is a well plotted tale with a wonderful cast of characters. I very much enjoyed this book and I do recommend it along with others from the series.

When I first met Ryder in “The Way The Story Goes”, I knew he would be challenging. He is rich and over the top with knowing what’s best for everyone. Peyton we haven’t seen for a while. She has been the sweet sister/cousin who is supportive to everyone. I loved how Ryder is described as James Bond-esk. And I loved how Peyton has this crush on him to the point where she hides in the background to avoid him. When she can no longer avoid him, she finds she may not really like him. Ryder on the other hand finds her refreshing. She’s the only one who hasn’t been a yes-man.
These two are perfect for each other. Peyton challenges him at every turn, not only in business. She has a brilliant mind but her confidence is no where in sight. Ryder nurtures it but when it really counts, he drops the ball. Their age difference isn’t a big deal but he makes it one.
I adore Peyton. She is wise beyond her years and is a kind soul. When the snobbery angers her she comes back with kindness. That speaks volumes. Ryder has become one of my top five heroes. He grows so much in this novel. He starts off as as independent as you can get and progresses into someone who embraces those around him.
Samantha Chase continues to make this town a place where I want to be. And creates people I want to be friends with.

Peyton Bishop and Ryder Ashford go from two people with many acquaintances in common to somewhat enemies to lovers in Samantha Chase’s Nobody Does It Better.

Peyton has been a part of Magnolia Sound her whole life and loves the town and the contributions her family has made over the decades. She’s currently managing a cafe and her dream has been to build her own restaurant from scratch.

Ryder is a mover and shaker, a little too used to being able take control and make things happen with money and connections.

Samantha Chase does a fabulous job with these two. Peyton has moments where she reveals her youth and insecurities; Ryder has times when he allows his uncertainties and pride get the better of him. What is lovely is watching the two of them work through their issues and emerge stronger and better after. Ms. Chase’s characters really shine, as does the beautiful town of Magnolia Sound.

Nobody Does It Better is ninth in the series, but stands alone perfectly. Don’t miss this excellent book!
