** I was provided an arc in exchange for an honest review **
I absolutely loved this book for 3 reasons:
1. Diverse characters. It's been a while since I've read a book with a black woman as MC, which is really a shame. The way she was described is beautiful, the subtle mentions of her bonnet and curly hair 😍. We absolutely need more diverse characters. That brings me to the 2nd thing I loved.
2. SILAS! Damn, his devotion to her was beautiful. I cried when he wanted to take care of her by asking her how to put on the bonnet, how to curl her hair, how to even take care of her hair type. This man stalks her from the moment he lays eyes on her. He watches her watch YouTube videos on how to braid her hair and he vows to learn it for her and their future daughters *my heart* 🥺🥺.
I liked that despite his JP tendencies and him being very dominant, that he still had vulnerable moments. Like when Eden leaves him, he breaks down. When his mom died but he tried to stay strong for her. And in the end, when the therapist suggested he go to therapy as well. *chef's kiss*.
3. The dose of reality. It's true that I read romance to escape reality and when I got to the scene where the cops arrested her for thinking she's a prostitute and on drugs I wanted to SLAP THEM SILLY. Ugh, their conversation made me so freaking mad. It's making me even angrier that this is real life as well, not just an event in this book. And although I wish to live in lalaland while reading romance, I do appreciate the author calling out blatant racism because this is not something we should turn a blind eye to.
Why not 5 stars?
I wanted to smack Eden on the head when she ran away to her uncle of all freaking people. She was suspicious of him, got creepy vibes and overall didn't want to be near him. I get that she felt guilty and all and that's why his words were able to penetrate through her, but c'mon girl. You do not willingly go to men who give you creepy vibes. Not even when they're family.
Eden loved her dad and her dad loved her. She knew her dad kept her away from her uncle and she goes to him and gets drunk with him?? 😭. Girl no wth 😭.
And of course her uncle turns out to be a p€d*ph!le. 🤢
There were some unanswered questions as well, these little details bother me lol.
All in all, this was a beautifully written, stalker romance! Silas came to the rescue, Eden is a hella strong girl and the way Silas secretly took a pregnancy test in the end (LMAO, I love this guy 😂). Her trauma was addressed properly, the fuckers are in prison and they lived happily ever after.
Can I get a novella with Silas braiding their daughter's hair, pretty please?! 🥺🥺🥺
*3.5 stars*

dude wtf did I just read? it was like i had to finish it just to see where this shit was going. believe me these 4 and 5 star reviews are lies. Everyone in this book was nuts. I mean CRAZY AF. James was the only good thing in this book and only sane person.
Wow… this book was… just good. It HAS triggers for - r@p3 and it’s NOT to be taken lightly and suicide being mentioned. -Silas is an OTT stalker H. He is instantly obsessed with Eden the moment he sees her. And he’s dedicated to stalking and claiming her. I’m talking camera in her place, getting off while watching het get off, following her, etc. -Silas also is a care taker. He researches her hair type and videos on hair styling so he can do hers. Talks of washing her, feeding her even though it’s not shown much I still love that he wants too. -teacher/ student taboo on college level -Family trauma in both sides but focuses on eden’s. -mixed h and Italian H (love mixed couples) -the main arch is just…. Wow. It’s disturbing and sad but you watch the survival after and it’s beautiful. -he’s instantly like your gonna marry me and have my babies and i always LOVE that ish lol.
For my ladies who love a OTT obsessed stalker this was really good and a decently quick read.
There are fantastical stories with perfect characters and perfect situations and then there are authors like Selena Michaels.
This author has a talent for exposing flawed characters in their real form. Flaws don't stop us from being human and definitely don't stop us from finding love (no matter what form that might be).
These characters are unhinged and raw, the layers unfolding before us with each word we read. Their tribulations and vulnerabilities will keep you glued to the pages because honestly...we all find a little bit of ourselves in the world she weaves.
If you haven't tried this author yet, what are you waiting for? Deviant is a good place to start.
This is my first read by Selena and it was one helluva insane ride. It checked off so many of my “have to read” boxes: student/professor, age gap, stalker romance that had a ton of insane twists. There are trigger warnings at the beginning, so please read them before diving in. Selena drew me in from the steamy beginning, keeping me on edge and/or fanning myself. Eden is such a sweet and driven young woman who is dealt a rough hand in life - but she proves she is survivor. Silas is a man that is willing to go to great lengths to get what he wants. I can’t even begin to describe how insane these two characters’ story is without giving spoilers so I will say this - I couldn’t stop turning the pages and devouring every single word. Selena didn’t hold back - this story is dark and suspenseful. It’s fast paced, maybe a little rushed in a few areas, but the flow of the plot was fluid and felt natural. The chemistry between the MC’s is off the charts hot and the steam between them is 🔥🔥🔥. The only thing that held me back from giving this 5 stars is how Silas’ background was just glossed over. I would’ve loved to learn how he was “self made man” and more about his past. Other than that, this was an exceptionally good story and I am excited to check out Selena’s other works.
This was my first Arc I ever received. I received it from a great taboo book club via Facebook. This was my first time coming across this author and I decided to give it a try. Wow, is all I can say about this book. It had the suspense and passion I needed. Selena Michaels knows how to right a good sex scene and good chemistry. There were some things in the book I wasn’t too happy about and yelling at the book but overall it was a good story. I read 3/4 of the book in about 4 hours. That’s how good it was. I would recommend this book.
This dark romance is a brilliant mix of some of my favorite genres. Good stalking age gap, teacher/student, non con. Just to name a few. The book bases around the 'auralism kink' which was new to me, so fun learning while reading. The story has its stares of twists and turns to keep you on your toes. Both main characters are broken in their own way, but with time their broken pieces mentioned together to make them whole as one, one unity, one relationship. Still crazy, but a crazy we can love. Selena has brilliantly shows the frustrations of a stalker as well as the stalked. This book much like her others was brilliant. And if you have yet to read Selena's other works, I suggest you do. Luci from her Mafia series will not disappoint you, and I have great hope for future men in this series also.
Love your work Selena, never stop being the awesome we all know you are xox
I really enjoyed this, I have a soft spot for a stalker Silas took it to another level. He was completely obsessed as soon as he seen her, she couldn't really get away from him she tried 😂. I loved Eden character she stood her ground with him, I had some laugh out loud moments. There's darker elements in this, a sadness surrounds Eden from past. It doesn't stay in the past ...
This was a fascinating tale featuring so many dark themes, and wonderful twists. Honestly I was caught by surprise quite a few times, and it made it a real page turner. Now let's talk about the spice. It's got plenty of that. It's hot. It's naughty. It's awesome! Definitely need to check out more books by this writer, because she writes brilliantly!
This is a dark romance, so be ready for potential triggers. I am not usually triggered, but I must admit that this story gave me a slight anxiety attack. And a sour stomach that I had to take antacids for. (lol) Not because it was overly gruesome in its description, but I really was present with the heroine through the worst of this story’s darkness, and it was too real in some cases. — yet, I kept reading. So there you go. The story will keep you reading. You’ll want to know how it ends.
What a dark and twisty tale. Selena Michael's did a wonderful job writing this intensely emotional read. I recommend for those who like dark subject matters💜
This is my first read of Selena Michaels and I would highly recommend it. A fast paced read follows the complicated lives of Silas and Eden, their meeting and an attraction that in instant but forbidden. there are so many conflicts in your mind as you read this forbidden romance but the story draws you in. A real page turner
This is what i would call a spicy book. If your looking for more spice than plot than this is the book for you. And there is nothing wrong with a spicy book, i love reading those but this book had quite a few plot holes for me. The FMC would often contradict herself when it came to her mom, uncle, and then the love interest. Questioning herself and her morals is fine especially since this is a stalker book but the way it was written in this book was down right confusing to the point of being annoying. For example the FMC would say that she thinks her uncle is creepy, and he makes her uncomfortable but then call him and tell him all her problems and allow him to drag her to his hotel room. She would also do things like sleep with the love interest and tell him she’s his forever but then leave him and accuse him of sleeping with other students for their grades, etc. And these things would happen literal sentences from each other, no contemplation, no previous doubts like these, nothing. But the spice is great and it moves quick which is why i called it a spicy book. It’s not bad just needed either some outside input or to be reviewed more before release.

The Student/Teacher trope is really not my jam, and neither is age gap. But this darker version called to me, as did the fact that it was an interracial couple. And I'm so glad it did, as it was so much more than what I was expecting. Besides the tension of will they get caught, there were seriously messed up pasts for both of the main characters, making them relatable and real. I was actually surprised at how many emotions this relatively short book pulled out of me, it had really heavy topics as we got further into their story. But it was worth it, and while this is not a new to me author, I am certainly more excited now to dig into her back list.
Warning triggers, Dark, stalking and some messed up family values. Silas works at the university and Eden is a student. Since the first moment Silas met her he wanted her. Now her mother I just cannot say enough about that woman she was bat S*** crazy. I do not understand how she could do the things she did, she is selfish, twisted and a few other other words. Her Uncle I have no words for him that will be acceptable for my review.
Eden and her sister deserved so much better. I do not want to write too many spoilers but Eden has a hard road to recovery after the things she went through. Silas is there every step of the way, there are twists and secrets that are revealed. This a book that draws you in and keeps you well engaged for the outcome. Again it is dark but worth the read. My first book from Selena but definitely not the last. Well written and if I could give more stars I would.
Eden starts college far away from home. She has finally escaped her disfunctional home life, and is ready for a new beginning. The moment they run into each other in the hallway of her new apartment, Silas is obsessed with her. He is a professor at the university, and manipulates and stalks Eden. When her past crashes into her present, it will take Silas' every resource to save her. This is a fantastic stalker romance. Eden is a mess, Silas is a mess, they're all a mess. There are so many twists and turns, and every time I thought I knew what would happen, I was surprised. Selena Michaels is a master storyteller, and I cannot wait to get my hands on everything she publishes. If you like dark, twisted novels, one click this one now. You won't be sorry.
I received a free advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
this was my first time reading a Selena Williams book and I will admit it did not disappoint at all. Silas and Eden's story was a different type of love story. Silas was Eden's professor and he loved them and leave them type but all that changed when he laid eyes on her. there were a lot of twists and turns and mouth-dropping secrets and I loved every minute of it. There were parts of the books where I wanted to throw my kindle across the room but I picked it back up because I wanted to know what was gonna happen next. Selena did her thing and I will be reading more of her work and I can't wait for the next installment in the series.
Wow! This book was totally insane! Who knew a professor could be as hot as Silas? He was the most possessive hero that I’ve ever read like full out stalker crazy mode! Eden needed Silas because her family was just nuts and dysfunctional isn’t even the right word for them . That being said I loved every minute of this story . I laughed , I cried, and I was gasping in surprise at the twist and turns in this story . This is the first book that I’ve read by this author but it won’t be the last. Silas is officially number 1 on my book boyfriends list !
This story ended not the way I thought but was amazing I am ready for book number two. This was my first book from this author and it won’t be the last. What Eden went thru was heartbreaking but to have a man that goes a different route of protection helped her become stronger ( even though Silas was a different breed for sure 😂😂😂…. I will say if you are easily triggered this book will make you feel some type of way. This book hits issues that some men and women have to handle and I definitely felt the hurt Edens character suffered.
I really really enjoyed this book a lot , Selena Michaels is a author I’m coming to love her books seem to get better and better each time. And this is no different I really loved The MMC stalker tendencies he’s both dark and brooding and a total JPA I loved the MFC although at one point I wanted to slap her silly , but I definitely loved her
This was my first read by Selena Michaels and I really enjoyed the story. Silas' possessiveness made me swoon. I really do wish that there were more sexy times between the main characters. I was intrigued by Silas and wanted to know more about his background. The writing flowed really well and I absorbed this book. I read it in one sitting and was left wanting more. Only a couple of grammatical errors that in no way detracted from the story.
Not my favorite. H had few redeeming qualities and h was immature and naive. This was my first book by Selena Michaels, but based on other reviews, I will have to try another by her.
First read from Selena Micheals and definitely will not be my last. The stalking is off the scales. Silas is just a little unhinged but I would not mind having a Silas.
I didn’t like it. I don’t know why… I’m a huge fan of the stalker trope.. but it just wasn’t done right. Silas stalker her.. but she has another stalker. She knows she get weird vibes from her uncle but CHOOSES to willingly go with him and DRINK when she isn’t around people she can trust.
There is no relationship buildup with Silas. Idk why they love each other. They just do.. wth?
This book gave me a whiplash. Too much back and forth with Silas.

I just couldn't finish it. This story had no direction and was just a train wreck The characters were hard to relate to and kept changing. The H began as a complete sex addict who couldn't commit but overnight became fascinated and obsessed to distraction by his neighbor, the h. The h was hard to relate to. I had to DNF.
