Rating - 4.5⭐️ Do I look like a zombie because I pulled an all-nighter reading this? YES Do I regret it? NO
Forbidden and Second chance romance done so well. This book is AMAZINGGGG, loved every second of it. I am not joking When I say this is the best desi romance book I have ever read!!! It has all the drama and emotions you need. The found family vibes, all the plots and twists were so good😩 I love Mayra and Shaurya so much😭❤️ and I feel like I want more of them. Their story was so beautiful and heartbreaking😭💔 I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS BOOK ENOUGH
This was angsty. This was addictive. This was just so so amazing! I stayed up till 3 AM to finish this and read it in one sitting because it was just that good 🤌😍 4.5 ⭐
This book has me waiting impatiently for the next in the series. The gorgeous characters and setting, the sizzling chemistry between the lead pair, and secrets galore - this is a book I will be re-reading many times.
I think this book is perfect for anyone who enjoys Indian Drama or Daily Soaps! Or people who enjoyed them at some point in their life (like me). The only reason I grew out of them was because I lost my patience when they were dragged on for years & years!
But that problem was solved when I could read this story at my own pace.. & trust me - the twists in this book were so twisted it ripped my heart out on more than one occasion! Thank God I could keep reading nonstop through those scenes & calm my throbbing heart!
I read this book within 24 hours & it was a mind-blowing, thrilling experience, & kinda nostalgic for me! & the pace of this slow-burn romance, the spice, it was all just perfect! & I absolutely enjoyed it! Myra & Shaurya - I loved them both! Their story does not end on a cliffhanger, & also has a HEA - so you don't have to worry about it! This is a series of interconnected standalones, so you're definitely good to go & try out if this book works for you! So I definitely recommend this book -- READ IT!!!
TROPES - Desi Romance - Billionaire Romance - Did He Hurt You - Second Chance - Forbidden Romance - Secret Identity - Destined Lovers - Romantic Suspense - Family Feuds & Revenge
Strong Plot with Strong Characters Too straightforward, fast-packing, and filled with steamy romance and strong characters. I read it in one go. After reading a blurb, I imagine a twist and thrilling story, but it comes out more predictable. However, the background plot is more strongly written and grips me to the end. The cover and title suit the story impressively.
Myra Gupta is a brave and blunt woman who doesn't hide her emotions, ready to fight for her rights. Surviving after losing her love, she gives herself a second chance.
Shaurya Rajpoot and Sahil Sharma have entirely different personalities but common interests. Shaurya, what I imagine to be cold, but it comes out sweet, caring, loving, emotional, and faithful to his family.
Myra and Shaurya give impressive introductions to this series. Sapna Bhog is good when she writes supporting characters that are also visible in this book. More instinctively, with the other characters and their own hidden stories, I am waiting to read the upcoming books in the series.
This book has a different bond of family and brothers. The book has a happy ending, but the background story continued in the following books with the other couples.
What an amazing start to a brand new series. I have loved every single book that I have read by Sapna Bhog so far and now me giving this book a 4.5⭐to this one should be no surprise. It took me some time to understand these characters and to start liking them ( it is a first book in a new series DUH!!!😒) I was patiently waiting for that "butterflies in my stomach" feeling I always get when I am reading a her books and when I started feeling that exactly, then I could not stop reading it. The book again ticked off everything I love to read about in a comfort romance book. Past secret✔️ Swoon worthy characters ✔️ An amazing family and friends bond✔️ Toe curling romance ✔️ GOD!!! I am about to get my bars raised higher by the end of this series😉😉😉😉 The twist that was revealed almost after reading half of the was something predictable, I guessed it way before it was revealed😎. I am going to finish reading this series soon and then I might never stop gushing about it for forever.
Sapna Bhog is one of the very few Indian author's whose books I religious follow and commit to read. I am a huge fan of her Sehgal Saga and am truly invested in every one of the characters in that series. Her Bond of Brothers was a series I have wanted to start for a while, but I am a very impatient person, who does not pick up on-going book series because once a start a series I wish devour every character and swallow up word by work, book by book until I have reached the very end of it. But since I realized that the next book in the series in releasing in a couple of days and also that the remaining books in the series also being released before end of this year, I decided to finally get my hands on the BOB book series.
So, as the first book in the series - My Ruin did give a run for its money, as it was able to successfully build the story and background for the upcoming books. We given hints and a surface knowledge of all the characters that are involved in this and upcoming books as well. So, I liked that about this book and the world building as well. Since 85% of the book is based in Dubai, it was good to also know that the roots of the characters from Shimla are not forgotten.
Coming to the story itself, Myra Gupta and Sahil Shama have been the ideal couple, both deeply and irrevocably in love with each other. These two complete and compliment each other so well, its just so refreshing to watch. Although these two come from very different backgrounds and statuses, their love for each other has been nothing but pure. But since Sahil is an orphan and does not have a rich family background is a little hesiant in admitting in front of Myra's father his love for her, as he fears he (the father) might reject him and cause trouble for these two. Because of this being a sore topic between the love-birds, they have a fight about him not standing up for himself, her and their love. While fighting over this, Sahil meets with an accident and all is lost in Myra's world.
Going forward a few years, Myra meets Shaurya Rajpoot for the first in an airport on her way to Dubai. By accidently meeting him, she feels the rush of all the emotions she thought had died away with Sahil. All this is very confusing to her as well, as these two keep running into under suspicious coincidences. It's a pretty straight-forward story from here. Them falling in love hard and fast and learning each other's past and how its all connected to their furture. Aaaanyway, not going into too much detail and spoiling the fun to others - I only want to tell that altough this was a good book, I wouldn't say it as my favourite from this author. It was sweet and cute story nonetheless and I would definitely be reading the remaining 3 books from this series.
My Ruin isn't just any romance novel; it's a tragic, mysterious love story. The book begins by introducing Sahil and Myra's love for each other. Sahil is an orphan who works for Myra's father as a successful lawyer. When he argues with Myra about not telling her father about their relationship, the tables turn, and he is involved in an accident. His final words sound disappointed and remorseful of his fight with her. He couldn't stop thinking about Myra until he died. Four years gap and enter Shaurya, who comes as hope in Myra's life. After Sahil's death, Myra is devastated. And to help her cope up with the loss of Tiya, her best friend has been with her. But Shaurya has secrets, secrets that can cost lives. Even if he feels attracted to Myra, he can't risk anyone's life. Will Myra be able to forget Sahil? Will Shaurya risk what he has for Myra? To know, read this thrilling book.
The book is a package of mystery thrillers and is fast-paced. The adrenaline rush with the engaging narration perfectly matches readers' attention. The storyline is simply fabulous and one of a kind. The plot is fresh, exciting, emotional, and intense. The beauty of the book is how interestingly the characters' life unfolds before you. You are first warmed up, and then their emotional background is revealed before you. The dialogues give you goosebumps. I kept wondering, how can a book be so intense and fun at the same time? Yes, it's not just an intense read. It has so many quirky moments, filled with Myra's unstoppable questions, the fights between Tiya and Vihaan. The Rajpoot's members feel like a warm hug, and I can officially say after the 'Take a chance on me' book, this is my most favorite book. You have to read this book because it has everything a reader wants.
This book is a compelling romance filled with emotional depth, complex characters, and enough suspense to keep readers hooked. The novel is a tale of two complex characters, whose lives intersect in unexpected ways, leading to an intense exploration of love, loss, and redemption.
The novel skillfully weaves the past and present, revealing how deeply rooted family secrets and obligations can impact relationships. Myra is drawn to Shaurya's quiet strength and loyalty, but she finds herself entangled in his complicated family history as she tries to get closer to him. As secrets from Shaurya’s past come to light, Myra and Shaurya must confront the harsh realities of their love and the forces working to keep them apart.
The author has deeply layered and flawed characters that feel real and relatable. Shaurya Rajpoot, the enigmatic male protagonist, is a man of few words, his silence hiding a wealth of pain and responsibility. Myra Gupta, the female lead, is a character shaped by loss. She has suffered heartbreak but emerges as a woman of resilience and emotional depth. One of the central themes of My Ruin is the power of love to heal but also to destroy. Both characters are damaged by their pasts, and their relationship tests whether they can overcome those wounds to build a future together.
Sapna Bhog’s writing is evocative and engaging, with just the right mix of emotional intensity and suspense. The pacing of the novel is well-managed, with moments of reflection and character development interspersed with high-stakes drama and romantic tension.
I devoured my first Sapna Bhog novel, and I'm officially hooked! 'Shaurya and Myra's Story' is like a rollercoaster ride – twisty, turny, and utterly addictive.
Warning: 'Shaurya and Myra's Story' may cause excessive swooning, emotional turmoil, and spontaneous daydreaming. Proceed with caution (and a box of tissues)!
Meet Shaurya Rajpoot, the brooding billionaire with secrets galore, and Myra Gupta, the fiery beauty who's about to shake his world. Their chance encounter sets off a chain reaction of feelings, familial drama, and tantalizing tension. Their chemistry? Sizzling hot! Their romance? Unputdownable!
What I loved: - Shaurya's silent strength and loyalty (hello, Mr. Darcy!) - Myra's resilience and determination (girl power!) - The slow-burn romance that'll leave you panting - The complex web of family secrets and lies (because who doesn't love a good drama?) - The twist (No spoilers, but WOW!) - Myra and Shaurya's futile resistance to fate (as if they stood a chance!)
But be warned: this book will put your emotions through a rollercoaster! - You'll laugh at Shaurya's dry wit - You'll cry at Myra's heartbreaking past - You'll love the humour and bond of family members - And you'll cheer for the couple's triumphs
This book has it all: romance, drama, humor, and a healthy dose of 'awww'. Sapna Bhog's writing is engaging, witty, and masterfully crafted.
If you're ready for a romantic rollercoaster with laughter, tears, and swoon-worthy moments, 'Shaurya and Myra's Story' is your next obsession.
Sahil is an orphan and is working with Myra’s father. He unfortunately dies in an accident and leaves Myra devastated. For her father’s betterment, she gets engaged to her childhood friend Yug. Myra’s family is in tryst with their neighbors, the Luthras, over land issues but ultimately ends up working with their scion Dev. Four years later Myra meets Shaurya and suddenly starts developing feelings which were long buried with Sahil’s death. Both of them are intensely drawn towards each other but the murky past between the Luthras and Shaurya’s family puts Myra in the enemy team. Why is it that Shaurya reminds Myra of Sahil? What is the past lurking amongst the three of them? Will Myra and Shaurya be able to rest their pasts for a new beginning?
Myra and Shaurya have strong character portrayals which have done justice to the story line. Myra’s sassy tongue speaking her mind makes her all the more endearing. Every character in the story is mysterious in some way which makes the story intriguing. The sub plot makes for an impactful narration. The bond among the siblings may it be teasing or looking out for each other gives a light heartedness to the fast paced thriller. Once you start reading it you will not be able to put it down till you complete it. The book will leave you craving for the remaining parts!
Romance, mystery, familial ties and so much more makes it a must read!!

The book is a roller coaster of emotions, intensity and love amalgamating into this perfect brew you cannot adhere to enough. Myra is a rich man's daughter who falls in love with her father's subordinate, Sahil, who is an orphan and a person with strong morale who wants to be capable enough to ask for her hand, but life happens, and he's met with an accident leaving their love story behind. Four years later, Mayra concocted her life, and we relocated to Dubai to start a new one. But nothing could have prepared her for the besotted way she felt for Shaurya, who is an unfathomable handsome businessman. Fate plays its role and now she's working for his enemy who can brittle his effects efforts. Will it be the beginning of something or just a tempestuous inclination?
The writing is so fast-paced you won't be able to stop yourself before taking an all-nighter. The plot is so strong, binding the story and the characters into a full-fledged series. The emotional aspect of the second character is so beautifully explained you cannot feel enticed enough to complete the remaining folds as well. Overall, It's a gripping story binding you till the end!!.
My ruin by Sapna Bhog is the love, hate and emotion's story. Where the story starts with a tragedy and ends with a great suspence. Sahil an orphan but a successful lawyer and love of Myra. Myra a lawyer and daughter of a buisness tycoon who loves Sahil to the core. Sudden death of Sahil makes her life colourless untill she came accross with Shaurya Rajput. Now this character has many deep secrets, promises and an agenda for revenge which is holding him back to accept any distraction in life. But Myra's heart played dirty for her n she couldn't leave Shaurya alone even in her dreams. But will he be able to keep his promise and avoid Myra in her life??? Or Myra's entry will ruin his plans for good???
Important highlight for me was the statement given by rajpoots to media, the wordings are full of emotions and I had goosebumps while reading it.
Author's writing skills needs to be applauded here because the plot is just superb. Every paragraph has something new to read n enjoy. The suspence built was so strong that it will make you finish the book in one go. Full of rollercoaster ride and a very tight emotional drama. Definitely a great read and the wait for upcoming sequels in the series will be difficult for sure. Recommended 👍
“Fate has a way of bringing people together whether they wish it or not.”
I read and absolutely loved Sapna Bhog’s “Beneath the Lies” and so, when I heard about her new Billionaire romance, My Ruin, I knew I had to read it.
With a mysterious and devilishly handsome Billionaire hero, and a lovelorn heroine, the romance had me sighing in pure love and rooting for a happy ending all through the book!
The plot is intriguing and even if a bit predictable, the execution is so beautiful that you will be sucked into the story right from the start.
This is one book where the continuing subplot is more intriguing than the main plot. While I solved the mystery of the main story very early, I am so eager to read the story of the supporting characters who have a bitter history with another supporting character.
Go read this amazing romance like now! Njkinny Recommends it to all romance lovers.
To be very honest, I found this story extremely clichéd. I could see the entire outline of the book by the end of the first two chapters, and from that point on, there were absolutely no surprises. I knew what was going to happen before it did, and unfortunately, the story never did anything to challenge that expectation.
I also found that the writing took me out of the story a few times. It’s very clearly written in the author’s native voice, which isn’t a bad thing in itself, but I’m more accustomed to a very prototypical “American” narrative style. Because of that, some passages felt a bit inorganically written to me—not wrong, just not what I’m used to reading. That part is probably more of a “me” issue than a flaw of the book itself.
Overall, it was… fine. An okay read. I probably wouldn’t have finished it if a close friend hadn’t pushed me to (she mainly wanted someone to talk to about it). On the plus side, it is a quick and easy read. On the downside, it’s also very predictable and, for me at least, pretty forgettable.
This is my first book by the author! I liked the concept of introducing 4 siblings- all of whose love stories will be separate books in the series.
Coming to this book, Myra is a lawyer and loves Sahil- who meets an accident in the very first chapter of the book and is never found again. The story moves 4 years forth when Myra is a hotshot lawyer and meets the charming Shaurya Rajpoot. Their love goes through all sorts of trials and tribulations throughout the story.
I liked the storyline. I like the suspense and the spice. The characters were engaging and had good character development throughout the pages.
However I felt the writing wasn't upto the mark. Dialogues were not framed well and there were so many scenes where Myra and Shaurya fight- and kiss and then fight again which felt a little forced. The twists were predictable and the book felt like a script for an average Indian television drama.
The book is a cocktail of strong emotions keeping you on edge throughout the read. It's one of the best romantic thriller. The author brought the characters to life the way she has written the story which was mesmerizing. Myra is strong, independent and abundantly talented yet, she is broken and lost the reason to live after she lost her love Sahil. Shaurya is an epitome of talent, one of the most eligible bachelors and committed to his family. A chance meet and Myra n Shaurya are instantly attracted to each other but they both have their own secrets. Will the past stand in the way of what could be a forever?? You cannot stop yourself from falling in love with Vihaan, Aaryan, Avi, Neil and Tiya. Cannot wait for other books in the series. The read was amazing would recommend to all the lovers of romantic thriller out there.😁
“Fate has a way of bringing people together, whether they wish it or not.”
It was my first book by the author and now, I'm one of the biggest fan of her. The way she writes sassy, baddie, and smart women is my favourite part.
My Ruin is the first book in the series of Bond of Brother's and it's a story of Myra and Shaurya. The story has everything I love to read like plot, mystery, romance, strong & Smart FMC, brotherhood, loyalty, lies and betrayal.
I love Shaurya and Myra and the chemistry between them. They are literally made for each other. I love other side characters as well. I loved the writing, the twist, the plot and storyline. Ofcourse, How can I forget their banter?? That's sizzling h0t.
I can't wait to read story of other characters and read other books in the series.
Overall, I enjoyed the book and I truly wish you read it enjoy it as well.
I enjoyed reading them and found the story to be incredibly engaging. I was so captivated by the characters and their story that I am now eager to explore other books in the series.
The book had its own unique charm, blending mystery, romance, plot twists, betrayal, emotional depth, sassiness of the female protagonist, loyalty, and family dynamics seamlessly. The characters were portrayed beautifully, and their chemistry was undeniably perfect uff so good. I particularly appreciated the writing style, the storyline, the twists, the tension, and the banter between the characters. Wow!!
I would highly recommend "My Ruin" to anyone who enjoys a captivating and emotional romance story and also tropes such as billionaire romance, secret identity, second chance, fated mates, and forbidden love added extra layers of excitement to the narrative.
Prepare yourself for a whirlwind of emotions with *My Ruin* by Sapna Bhog. Shaurya and Myra’s story is a captivating blend of passion, secrets, and unexpected twists that will keep you hooked from start to finish. Shaurya’s silent strength and Myra’s resilience create a dynamic that’s both tender and intense. As their worlds collide, loyalty is tested, and the past looms large—will love conquer all, or will hidden truths tear them apart? This is just the beginning of the Bond of Brothers Quartet, where betrayal and loyalty intertwine, setting the stage for an unforgettable saga.
If you’re curious about the other sibling’s stories, check out *My Rebel* (Vihaan & Tiya), *My Enemy* (Aaryan & Sanjana), and *My Sinner* (Dev & Avantika).
Okay people weren't kidding when they said it's hooking. I literally pulled an all nighter to read this. The story was amazing I specially loved the whole family dynamic...and the though the story was a bit predictable and somewhat cliche there was something in the story that I couldn't put it down. Read the whole thing in two days...and yes I ended up falling for the villain. I feel there's more to Dev than shown here and I am so excited to read his and Avantika's story...I can already feel the chemistry and angst between them.
The story wasn't anything extraordinary but their was something about it that I can't pinpoint.
I am so excited to read the whole series...I can feel it getting better with each book.
I started reading the Prologue yesterday before going to bed and now here I am the next day sharing about it after completing the book in a span of some hours.
Instantly sold with this series, Bond of Brothers. I . Am. In . Love.
This one kept me hook right from the very start. There was a whole whirlpool of emotions inside me and I was just like, "I need to know what happens next "
The matureness and understanding between the characters and how they tackled every situation.. ahh love it.
Being an Indian Reader it's very rare for me to find romance books that actually is good , and Sapna Bhog did that for me.
Ok so I've realized I'm going to have a love/ hate thing with Sapna’s books. Love because she writes so beautifully and hate because I have to wait for the next books. Myra & Shaurya are everything. Like all of Sapna’s heroines, Myra is strong, fearless and fiesty. Shaurya is loyal to a fault, equally strong like Myra and swoon worthy. Their journey is like a maze, they come across many dead ends, twist and turns but eventually their love finds its way. A must read.
Not a typical Sapna Bhog & quite a different attempt may be because it had suspense factor & I am used to of reading Sapna’s typical romance Patterns. But it was a nice one just like Dare to be a Duchess.
I got hooked to the novel after reading few pages & this is how this book grows on u. U will take time but it grips u slowly. Few characters are invoked my curiosity especially Dev & Aryan. Waiting for the next novels in this series.
Sahil, the boy next door loves Myra who loves him back.
Fate has separated them and again given them a chance to meet again and fall for each other again.
Each have their share of secrets. Will they be together after learning their secrets. Will their love stand strong even after being separated. Will the bond of family be as strong as ever?
Mizz Sapna created another AMAZBALLS series about family of the heart. Thus tale is wrapped in intrigue, betrayal, despicable sins & endless greedy. Thus us just book #1 & many secrets have been solved. But there are more questions plus secrets discovered & the betrayal is still a foot. Mizz Sapna earns my top score of 5 fingers up & 10 toes for this romance. Book #2 awaits me...
This book had me reeling at times with its mysterious twists. Sahil and Myra are a match made in heaven who have to go through a sea of hardships to finally unite. Neither of them is able to move past each other despite the shocking flow of circumstances. I loved every aspect of the tale starting from brotherly bonds to undying love between the leads. Overall, a good read.
