Calder Moore has no luck in love. Unlike many of his friends, he wants to settle down, get married, have kids, but he can’t seem to find the right one. No matter how many women he dates, it always ends with no future in sight. Until one night when he helps a beautiful woman stuck in a ditch in the snow. The problem is, she’s just visiting and nursing a broken heart. Just his luck.
Mitzie Patterson had to get out of Nashville and away from her ex-fiancé for a while, the man she thought she’d spend the rest of her life with. When she gets stranded in a ditch on a dark road in a snowstorm, she has no choice but to wait it out until someone comes along. Little does she know, the man who rescues her would make her forget all about her broken engagement and the betrayal she feels. But she’s not staying in Clifton. She will, eventually, return to Nashville and her family. Leaving Calder behind.
Can he convince her to stay with him? Will she move across the country away from her family for this man? Her heart is torn, and the last thing she wants to do is hurt Calder. Can love help her with her decision? Or will she leave the one man she knows would cherish her and never hurt her?
Susan was born and raised in a small town in the western part of Maryland surrounded by the Appalachian mountains. She moved to Tennessee in 1996 with her husband and two children. She's been writing for as long as she can remember and is currently writing three different series. The Men of Clifton Montana which will be seven stories and The Bad Boys of Dry River will be six stories. The Callahans will be about four cousins. Although it is best to read the stories in order, all can be read as standalone. She is also writing four standalone books. Excerpts from her books can be read on her webpage: susanfisherdavisauthor.weebly.com and you can also sign up for her newsletter there. Susan tries to thank each person for their review. She would love to hear from her readers and promises to answer all email: susan@susanfisherdavisauthor.com
Another great book in the Clifton series. This is book number 16. You don't have to read the others to enjoy Calder's book. It is nice to have the backstory of all the characters that walk throughout the story though.
Calder owns a cattle ranch in Montana. He's lonely and wants a family of his own but his fiance left him and he doesn't want to go through that heartbreak again.
Mitzie worked at a magazine in Nashville. She was engaged to her boss. One day he up and tells her that it is over and, oh, by the way, you're fired. With no job and no place to live, she heads to Montana to spend some time with her friend. She arrives during a big snow storm and winds up with her rental in a ditch. Calder comes along and saves her.
As the relationship grows between the two, they are both afraid of being hurt. But sometimes not admitting how you feel can cause the most pain of all.
I have to say, this might be my new favorite in this series.
How can you not love a man who wants to settle down, raise a family, love his wife and have lots of kids. This man stays true to himself the whole book. He really likes Mitzie and sees all the above with her, but he doesn't think she sees it. I love how romantic he is with her also.
Mitzie was a woman that wanted the best of both worlds. She wants Calder but she also wants to live in Nashville near her parents. I get this internal struggle but it did lead to a lot of heartache in the meantime.
I loved the banter between these two. From their first meeting, the sarcasm was flowing.
Mitzie has just lost her job and fiance. She decides to go visit Jessa. While driving to her place, Mitzie ends up in a ditch. Calder just wants to get home. He sees a vehicle in the ditch and he knows he has to check. After he scares her, he knows he has to take her home due to the weather. Calder finally finds a woman that he is completely interested in but knows he is going to lose her. Mitzie has developed feelings for Calder but is scared to move away from her life and family in Nashville. Will Calder win her over or is she just to scared to leave what is familiar?
I chose this rating because this was a pretty good book. I really enjoyed pretty much all of the characters. This was a book of determination, compassion, kindness, self-esteem, falling in and finding the love of your life. I really enjoyed Calder and Mitiz story. I think the author did an amazing job putting these two characters together. I think everyone played their part as it should have been played. Great read! I recommend this book to all cowboy lovers and romance readers.
Oh my Susan Fisher Davis I LOVE all the MEN of CLIFTON BUT!!!!! Calder has stolen my heart. The emotions was running wild..... i wanted to hurt Mitizie but this story really warmed my heart. It was well written and such a awesome book to read. I keep telling myself that my Clifton men are simply amazing but than you turn around and throw another one into the mix.I have to say Calder owns a large piece of my heart
Calder and Mitzie story it’s beautiful, when the man you think you love tells you he no loner is happy with you, and drop you take away your job kick out of the place you share him and take
back engagement ring . She takes off to Montana where She drive into dich and gets rescued by handsome cowboy Calder , and now the story begins.💯📕✅
All he ever wanted was someone to love him. Just the right woman the right way. If love can be just a wait and see game. Towns and cities are so large now it's hard to find true love.I like your style of writing. Can you find a good man for me.😄 Putting all jokes aside, you make a lady wish there was really a place like Clifton Montana. Live your books. On to number 17.
Another wonderful story from Ms. Davis. Calder and Mitzie's story will just make you fall in love with them. Both are scared of things and it makes it hard to form a relationship but can they work it out? I think it took Mitzie's ex coming around to make them both realize they really did love each other!! Wonderful story and as always, I love seeing characters from previous stories!!!
Calder Men of Clifton:WOW! Fantastic romance! Great writing as always great to hear about the other characters from Clifton. I really enjoyed their first encounter. I loved Calder's first reaction to Mitzie when he got a good look at her in the light. She was gorgeous. He knew She was one and the she was very special. Great story!
She went to Montana to mend a broken heart and fell in love with a cowboy. The problem was she missed her family and didn’t know if she could live so far from them. Her dad had a heart .Enjoy
Absolutely loved this book! I was hooked on the characters and their story from the very beginning. Their relationship was so swoon worthy! I just love this series so much, I don’t want it to end!
