Rate this book
Do you want to reach consistent levels of productivity? Learn how to achieve meaningful accomplishment in a short period with Around is Forward: The Productivity Cycle Behind Extraordinary Results.

The productivity expert Filipa Canelas has helped 40,000+ students become the most productive version of themselves, but she's not like other productivity experts. She believes that productivity is not a matter of getting it done, but getting the right things done; that success is a repeatable system, not a lucky shot; and that consistency, not talent, is what differentiates people. Her effective system can help anyone pile up meaningful accomplishments.

In this engaging book, Filipa reveals how the mastery of five sequenced phases can lead to extraordinary results over a short period. She uncovers a handful of strategies, from Planning, Organizing, Producing, Managing, and Upgrading, and explores the repeatable cycle of productivity that rejects to-do lists and the hustle mentality.

Whether your goal is climbing the corporate ladder, jumpstarting your business, or experiencing the wonders of additional free time, the Around is Forward is the blueprint.

This book is a wonderful addition to the landscape of productivity self-help books.
It offers a holistic and fruitful approach to better frame what it means to be productive.
Filipa achieves it through the introduction of the Productivity Cycle. So it avoids equating productivity with hours spent working and forgoes a linear approach to the problem of increasing productivity.
It suggests instead an iterative and flexible approach, whose chance for better results is higher.

The book strikes a very pleasing conversational tone, and it includes, beyond the usual theoretical considerations, a large amount of actionable advice, including extra resources at the end of each Chapter.

Definitely give it a read!

Feeling good going around!!

In my personal experience, productivity always felt like a phase where you produced the most amount of positive results.
Sometimes I planned my steps to achieve a goal, other times I didn't.
I was incredibly organized in some projects, and in others, I just hoped things would fall in the right place.
As you except, my results were inconsistent and didn't correspond to my expectations.

I read many books that gave me amazing tools to organize my days, to be more focused, and to have more energy. But none of them gave me a framework and blueprint to know in what phase of my project I was and what specific tools and techniques were ideal for each phase...

So, in this book, I found the solution I was looking for! The ability to determine in which phase I am, in a certain project, what to do in each phase (as well as the best tips), and what to look head to until I finish my project.
In the end, I feel happy, satisfied, and knowing that I can count on this productivity cycle in the next projects of my journey!

I’ve never read productivity related books until I found this one. For about a year I’ve been following the articles and content that Filipa has on her blog and when the book came and immediately thought: “this one I will read”

Even thought it was the first time I’ve read a book about such topic, I am too crazy about productivity and efficiency. My formula so far was: keeping it simple and well planed , reducing distractions, keeping self discipline and having fun to actually be productive. All in a circle.

And this is pretty much I take from this book as well. I felt it was a compilation of a huge knowledge Filipa acquired in her extensive readings and practised over time. It’s not the typical boring book that goes around and around over the same examples with low added value. It has the theory and some practical tips which makes it easy to read and easy to retain.

Definitely worth reading if you’re in the beach in a summer afternoon, to get inspired and to go back to work with a refreshed energy :) thank you , Filipa.

I was given the opportunity to read this book before publishing it to write a review of it.

I really enjoyed it; the cycle presented to us was broken down and explained in an easy-to-understand language that was very relatable. Even though the author is getting started in her book-writing journey, she already shows great promise by being funny.
Each phase of the cycle (5) is explained and includes actionable steps to help us in our productivity journey. I think this is the type of book we can keep around to use as a manual continuously.

I also really appreciated the extra resources given by the author and the further reading references for us to continue researching productivity. I highly recommend it.

I really liked that this book was so easy to read. It’s short, simple and concise. I read it in one day, I enjoyed the ideas that the author suggests. I was eager to start working as I was reading. Every chapter has relevant information and procedures to someone looking to be productive in a healthy and realistic way.

She gives great advice to put into practice instead of just theory, also she provides lists of extra resources to find out more about each of the things mentioned in the book.

I can honestly say this was good. I have been digging into the "self-help" genre a little more as I get older and seem to be getting more out of them. But I think that's how it works in general anyway. 🤔

I genuinely give this 5 stars because I was extremely helpful and eye opening. I do feel seen but also called out in a couple of the sections that she speaks about dos and don'ts for each step in the process.

I highlighted many a quote and sometimes full paragraphs. I will be keeping this one on my Kindle as a download so I can go back and reference it when needed cause I fully intend to begin implementing her advice.

If anyone struggles with productivity and even just focus, then this one is a must read.
