It transports you, entertains, mesmerises and shows you a world of things you didn't know. Christian's writing is always fun and engaging, he has a wonderful knack of infecting you with his enthusiasm. I'm nowhere near the Waveney Valley but I'll make sure I take a trip down there to see the legends, and experience the spooks, for myself."

Experience the hidden history of England's Waveney Valley

Black dogs, Druid stones and Devil lore - Shuckland has got the lot. In this book Charles Christian takes us on a witty and enthralling journey through the East Anglian countryside following the famous Atlantis Ley (otherwise known as the Great St Michael and St Mary Alignment) from his home town of Diss up to Norfolk's sunshine coast. Along the way we are introduced to Saxon Kings, Norman barons, necromantic friars, and notorious highwaymen, not to mention a whole host of spirits and spooks, and last but definitely not least, the legendary fiery-eyed hell hound, Black Shuck, who lends his name both to Christian's book and to the valley some call Shuckland. Well written and informative, this book is a must for any folklore enthusiast, or indeed for anyone seeking to find out more about the 'quite intriguing' history and legends of an area that for many is one of the most well loved corners of our island.
