This is a different book - going through it was kind of a roller coaster with sudden ups and downs and sometimes that clac-clac of going up and building energy. Instead of reading, I was listening to the audiobook and I think that's the right approach to it - since not only Margie herself talks with the listener, but also a huge ensemble of her students.
In terms of its contents - a lot derives from her acting classes, its dynamics, and the slices which bring out, in actors, a lot of different emotions, reactions, and, surprisingly, life lessons! Who'd thought that there is such a big intersection between self-help, therapy, and acting classes? Maybe the best way to portray someone else's life on the big screen is to learn about ourselves first, and then learn about that character and create... magic?
I must confess I was a little cynical about this - as I was comparing parts of it to what is shown as acting classes in the TV series Barry (which is comical) - but in the end I think several ideas and workshops really might serve me - and I'm grateful that the author put in the (quite huge) effort in creating and making her work public.
All in all... it's a good book, sometimes shallow, sometimes too deep, but really useful!
