Gillian Foxe has set her sights on Lennon Wright, but unfortunately for him, it's not in a hot, sexy way. After overhearing two women gossiping about him, Gillian decides to help him out by turning the cute introvert into a social butterfly, even if it's against his wishes. She’s convinced she knows what's best for the shy man, but of course he doesn't see it that way.
Everything isn't always what it seems, and no one knows that better than Lennon. Yes he keeps to himself, but it's not for the reason Gillian thinks. Still, he can't help but be amused Gillian thinks he's shy. He may not be as outgoing as the sexy woman is, but that doesn't mean he's dating deficient. In fact, he's had his eye on a special woman for a while now. Unfortunately Gillian lacks the ability to see beneath his good guy persona.
But if a bad boy is what she likes, Lennon has a few naughty skills up his sleeve that might help take the blinders off and prove to Gillian he's not so shy after all.

Lena Matthews spends her days dreaming about handsome heroes and her nights with her own personal hero. Married to her college sweetheart, she is the proud mother of two children, three evil dogs, and a mess of ants that she can't seem to get rid of.
When not writing she can be found reading, watching movies, lifting up the cushions on the couch to look for batteries for the remote control and plotting different ways to bring Buffy back on the air.
I so enjoyed this book that I read it in one day - mostly at work. Shhh!
I didn't care for the names of the heroine or hero - Gillian because I couldn't figure out if her name should be pronounced Jilly-ann or Gilly-ann. I stuck with Jilly-ann and pressed on. Lennon because although different - it isn't a name I would place in the grown and sexy category of names. Anywho...
I've typically stayed away from interracial romances because it's 2012 and let's be real - it's not that big of a taboo so when most authors go on about how "wrong" it is for the couple to be together, it just irks me. However, Lena Matthews pulled this off wonderfully. Primarily by having the heroine share feelings that I identified with. Although Gillian found men outside of her race attractive, she couldn't see them as serious prospectives for a relationship and her reasons...well, she didn't really have any reasons. Works for me. I loved Gillian's best friend, Minta! She was very well-written and her character was sassy and funny and definitely someone I could see myself being best friends with.
Lennon. Mmmm...Mmmmm...Mmmmm. WHERE ARE MEN LIKE THIS AT?! SERIOUSLY!!! Do they really only exist between the pages of fiction?! Uuuuggh! He was everything I want in a man: uber-sexy (I imagined him as a Gabriel Aubry in way of looks), dominating, possessive, and sexually aggressive! And his dirty talk....LE SWOOOON!!! The sex scenes were sooo hot!!! *fanning self wildly I smiled and squirmed my way through the entire book!
I hope there author chooses to make this a series because I would love to read more about Lennon's friends and even Minta!
I liked the concept, but overall, I believe that this book could have been better. The characters were great, but not as well developed as they should have been... Also, the storyline was lacking and the last 5 pages felt rushed... I'm giving it 2 1/2 stars.
What a great little find! Short and sweet and romantic with some smut thrown in for good measure.
Gillian is determined to help the new guy fit in, so she invites him out in order to draw him out of his shy shell. Little does she know there is a very dominant, anything but shy man lurking below the surface of that yummy exterior.
Although I thought it ended a little abruptly, it was an enjoyable read.

The premise of this story was beyond amazing; don't get me wrong. This summary had me so intrigued that I just HAD to read it. I never see books like this so I was interested.
I'm a stickler for perfect grammar and spelling. I'm sorry; every time I see a misspelled word, I have to cringe. I'm not that deluded that I don't realize that authors make mistakes, but this seemed completely deliberate. I think the word 'brunette' was spelled wrong a significant amount of times that it kind of began to turn me off. I applaud the author for her effort, but people really should run their work through the grammar check on Word before publishing.
All in all, I would recommend it to someone who's really just bored. If you're a serious reader, don't even. It's kind of hard to stomach when you're pulled away from the events in the story by the horrid spelling.
Gillian and Lennon are co-workers. She mistakes him for being shy and decides to make him her project. He plays along. This is a good dirty book! I love the character, both the hero and heroine are well thought out with their motivations clearly made at the beginning of the story. Gillian likes the 'white guy' but won't admit it, so she takes him out for drinks and finds out that he's not shy at all. I admit my favorite character is her friend, she could by my wing-women any time. The big reveal in this book involves a party at a friends house, No I would NEVER participate in that kind of party. But the freak in me enjoyed reading about it. I also loved that the shero of this book was not afraid to find her love; I'm over women who run away from a good man. i would love to read more from this series.
There were a few errors:
Location 343 "And blind as a bat is she thought he could possible find any.....---> should be "possibly"
Location 1226 Favorite line "a fast convert to the religion of assianity"
Location 1273 "Every since their little office escapade..." --> "Ever since"
The error at location 1373 is too adult to quote, but the wrong word is used, should be "fingering"
Description: Gillian Foxe thinks her newish co-worker Lennon Wright is way to shy and launches a plan to bring him out of his shell. She couldn’t me more incorrect.
The Good: I’m a huge fan of office romances, and the main couple had amazing chemistry. Also, I love when two nice people manage to pull off really hot sex.
The Bad: After a ton of build up, the resolution ends up being so rushed.
The Naughty: Erotic, orgy, workplace sex, sex in public places.
I loved this novella, definitely one of the better written erotica I’ve read. It revolves around sheltered employee Gillian Foxe, who takes an interest in the office recluse Lennon Wright and makes the bold move to “bring him out of his shell” by inviting him for drinks. But she soon realizes mentally and physically he’s not the shy coworker she though him to be after all.
The scenes are steamy and the characters are cute and are fun to watch sparring words with each other. I was surprised where some of the sexual scenes / kinks were directed but even though it’s not my complete taste, it was still interesting to read. Maybe it was just me, but the book synopses made it seem like Lennon was some mafia man or undercover spy! The reveal of his identity isn’t as ...sinister as I thought it would be, it’s very normal actually, and doesn’t make for a huge rift between the two characters, but I thought the ending was cute.
Wow. After being seriously disappointed by prior books that I had been reading, this book was a cool breeze on a hot summer day.... It was wonderful.. I tend to steer away from interracial books as there is usually one person that is racist and blah blah blah.. And also because usually the author will have the African American speaking a whole bunch of hood slang.. But this book didn't have that... Both of the characters were likable, they spoke very good English (although after reading some of the reviews I might want to go back and look for the grammatical errors.. NOT), the sx was HOT, voyeurism and play parties are always great, and the oher characters were wonderful as well.. This book was so good, I wanted to reread it over right after ending it.. Now off to see what else I have from this author...
When Gillian Foxe overhears co-workers gossiping about Lennon Wrights preference in partners, Gillian flips a lid and decides to take Lennon under her wing. Knowing there is no way the rumor is true, she believes he is just shy and doesn't know how to meet women.
Lennon is flabbergasted when Gillian comes to his aide, even though the only object of his desire is her. Deciding to prove that he is far from the shy man she believes him to be, he sets out to seduce her, but Lennon is harboring a secret that could ruin everything when she finds out.
I thought it was pretty good, a few gaps in the story but enough there that I would try another in the series.
A cute premise for this novella. I enjoyed the dialogue between Lennon & Gillian. "He's So Shy" is your formulaic romance but it's a formula for a reason (it works so why fix. For 99 pages ... it had a had a lot of hotness. The only downside for me was that it was so short yet from beginning to end I did not find the story lacking. This is my first Lena Matthews story and I hope to read more.
This was a pretty good book, I laughed a lot and found the characters very charming. There were some grammatical problems but nothing I could not get over. The secondary characters were great as well and I found myself being drawn into the friendships and relationships of the characters. The characters of the story were good natured and very naughty. There were many very sexy erotic sense there were well done and I look forward to seeing more stories like this one.
synopsis: gillian overhears two women gossiping about lennon and decides to help him out by bringing him out of his shell. lennon is quiet, but he has a reason to be. when gillian approaches him about opening up and being more adventurous, lennon shows her that she might not know everything about her, or about being adventurous.
what i liked: that the guy was the one who needed "fixing" and that the girl was going to be the one who helped him out.
Gillian Foxe has set her sights on Lennon Wright, the sexy male that doing special work for her company. Gillian has to pull him out of his shyness to make it clear that he is not gay.
This is a hot interlude that brings out more than Gillian thought. She sees a side of herself she did not quite expect.
I tried a sample of this book first because I'd never read anything by Ms. Mathews. Ended up buying the book because I could tell that I was going to like it. And I'm not disappointed at all. My only hope is that when I pull up her other books, Lennon's friends have their own stories to tell.
I'd like to give this a higher rating because I loved the witty dialogue and the characters were interesting but I was not prepared for some of the other aspects of the story. If I'd known before hand about the menage and voyerism, I would not have read it.
I've been a huge fan of Lena Matthews' work for years. This one doesn't disappoint. Lennon and Gillian have great chemistry. I'm hoping there will be books for all of the supporting characters as well, especially Gillian's best friend, Minta.
He's not as shy as the title suggests. The quiet guy would rather be a loner, but is dragged into her bright, vivid life. The twist vaguely irked me, but the story was still good.
Matthews has a real knack for likable and funny characters. I liked them all so much I wish they could have been in something that had more of a story, but this wasn't meant to be a novel.
