Rachel Hamill has a knack for selling houses—so much so that she’s considering starting her very own real estate brokerage a couple of years ahead of schedule.
Unfortunately, her knack with men isn’t so great and after kicking the last one out of her bed, she resolves to take some time off from dating them. Perhaps after a while, she’ll finally learn to make better choices.
Dr. Ainsley Janowicz is one of Southern California’s top surgeons. After landing an exciting new job at a hospital north of San Diego, what she needs now is a new house in Carlsbad to go with it. She thinks she’s found the perfect one: three bedrooms, a kitchen to die for and within walking distance of the beach.
Oh, and the real estate agent selling it is…yummy! Too bad she’s obviously straight.
Still, though…is that a spark of interest Ainsley detects?
What follows is the start of a beautiful friendship between two women who discover they have a lot in common, especially a shared loved of playing volleyball. But when these two single women decide to go on a friend-date for Valentine’s Day, suddenly boundaries become very blurred…
Come along on the journey as Rachel discovers new things about herself and Ainsley discovers what it finally feels like to find something even more important than her surgical career. But watch out for the persistent ex-girlfriend who refuses to accept that it’s over.
“A Long List of Firsts” is the delightfully low-angst, funny and super sexy fourth book in the popular Carlsbad Village Lesbian Romance series by Sabrina Kane.
**Sadly, some startling revelations came out today about the author that I can’t support. please read more about it and make up your own opinion about maybe reading the book. ** https://jae-fiction.com/another-catfi...
Mixed feelings with this book but yes, I liked it. Funny thing, my first language isn't English so the first 60 pages I struggled with the pronunciation of Ainsley but hey, I learned something new. Maybe I liked this book because I felt identified with Rachel? Yep. Maybe. Anyway..
So, this story follows: Rachel Hamill, a real estate agent, straight, charming woman who has only dated guys but after many failed encounters she decided to get a break from dating them; while working showing houses she meets Dr. Ainsley Janowicz. Ainsley Janowicz is a top notch surgeon, friendly, beautifully hot who has a crazy ex. What happens when a newbie lesbian crushes a long time, very proud lesbian? In this book, basically, magic.
Overall I liked the book but at the beginning of it, the foundation of both, main characters, were their friends but Ainsley didn't fight more for her relationship with Charlotte, she wasn't there when Krissy specifically told her that their friend was going thru a really tough moment and I didn't enjoy that much, yes I get that when you start a new relationship you want to spend most of the time with your new partner but hey, I'm in my early 30's too by now we should know how to balance our time and be there for our people (family and friends), let me be clear, she was not mean, she didn't do anything wrong I'm just saying she could have been better.
Good side of the story, there were no self-esteem problems or jealousy within the couple, it was genuinely a healthy relationship and that's good and refreshing. If you like very detailed sex scenes, this was made for you.
I think this book deserved a second one, I don't know why but I imagined Krissy and Becca together. LOL! UPDATE (yes, the same day), there's a book for this story: No More Wasted Time: A Carlsbad Village Lesbian Romance. My next read.

I really did, but all the crude references to female release of bodily fluids. (I didn't know if I could use the proper word.) It was just constant, and quite descriptive. I'm not a prude. I just found it it excessive.
A bit too ‘same old, same old’ for my liking: the story had almost been told after 25%. Nothing new, bit of chit chat interspersed with Volley ball. Move on.
This book is straight-up sex. 15-20% buildup, Rachel and Ainsley growing closer, followed by 80-85% sex. Nothing wrong with that, of course!! But wow!! I felt like I was swimming in sex.
3.5⭐️ Well written erotic lesbian awakening romance. Carlsbad is a definite hotspot for lesbians and we get to see cameos from other books. There is some nice plot and the MCs communicate and their relationship grows. There’s women’s volleyball, La Vida Mocha ;), a Valentine’s swoon worthy date, a crazy ex, and a not so straight MC meeting the right lesbian to fulfill all the dreams.
I had some trouble getting through the book though. I’m all for erotic and truly I think this is well written and very descriptive. I just didn’t vibe with parts and tended to skim. I’ve done it on the other books too. The overall idea was great and I’m sure many would very much enjoy, and have enjoyed, this story and this author.
I really hope there is going to be more to this series and it never ends. OMG this book was hot! Sabrina Kane had amazing chemistry in the book and was well written toaster oven romance. I really hope we get more from Sabrina, after all she introduced at least 3 single women that needs to find their forever love.
These two are completely adorable. Another amazing story by Sabrina Kane! Their chemistry was excellent right from the start. I will definitely reread at some point. After I finish the other books in the series, of course!
I think Ainsley and Rachel are my favorite couple of this series. They were both charming and adorable. I loved that there wasn’t a super heavy angsty reason for this couple to have any friction. It was a sweet and sexy read. I can’t wait for more!
Cute but not very much going on, it was a little too long for the content really and ended up feeling very rambling and lengthy. I like long, all p👀-no-plot books but even I was bored halfway through this and ready for the HEA Don’t get me wrong, the spice was very nice and very generous, but it didn’t need to be so long. The writing is fine but a little theatrical and very cringe, so over enthusiastic and heavy on the exclamation points. A nice easy lesfic read, I recommend if you’re looking for something uncomplicated and fun
I think this book has more sex scenes than any other romance I’ve read. And I’ve read a lot of sapphic erotic romances. I kind of wish I’d kept track but there had to be something like 10-15 different sex scenes. Maybe one per chapter? Whatever the number, it was a lot! I should clarify that this isn’t a complaint, just an observation. I will admit, those scenes were pretty hot, though some times a little over the top. Between the two of them, I’m pretty sure they could have created their own man-made (woman-made?) lake. They were always *that* wet.
Overall, I think the author did a good job with both Ainsley and Rachel. They had chemistry and their romance was well done. This book was also very low angst. As far as I can recall, there was never any conflict between the two leads. It was definitely sex and the physical/emotional connection that kept this novel moving along.
...but this one was mostly sex. Excellent sex. With enough plot to keep it moving forward, and enough character development to hold my interest. That said, there was zero conflict for the main characters. There was an outside issue that caused problems, but minor ones and it was easily resolved. Was it a worthwhile read? Absolutely. The humor alone made it hard to put down, I laughed a lot, and even reread a few great exchanges so I could laugh over them again. It was sweet, silly, and sexy. The cotton candy of lesfic novels. Yes, perhaps it's lacks substance beyond it's sticky sweetness, but it's impossible to stop consuming until it's gone.
Holy f-ing shit. If you dont read any other Sabrina Kane book i suggest you read this one. Their flirting might be some of my favorite if not my top three of all time. It gives me the shivers.
These two are so personable and likeable from page one. I was infatuated with their relationship before page 60. The flirting! The way that they flirt, “knowing”nothing is gonna happen is so so so so so hot. I wish it had stayed the whole story though.
Rachel’s whole coming out story is one of my favorites. Scrolling cosmo to relate to others coming out later is so relatable. Its like taking an Am I gay quiz.
My favorite aspect of this book that wasnt about Rachel and Ainsley was the volleyball with friends, and that part with Ainsley and Vanessa and the lesbian wet dream. Was waiting for it to break out into a clothesless party.
5 stars in the sexy and light shelf. The easy California setting, the ease of surgeon salary, the free time…it was a sexy escape. While attracted mostly to mascs, I found the realtor sexy. The surgeon was decently sexy to me, too. The athlete scenes, particularly locker room scenes, were fun. I eventually was ready to stop reading about gushing sex. I wanted a towel and some dryness after chapter 20-something. I lost count of the orgasms these 29 yr-olds had. 5 stars for a light sexy read.
A fun hot read on this series. Can’t get enough of this book. You can easily fall in love with all the characters. Funny banters between each characters. Again, I want to move to Carlsbad!
Lots of great humor, great characters and wonderful story. Even though the stories could probably stand alone, each one gives windows into the next. Lovely reading to just get away from all the stuff of everyday life.
I love this writer I love these two main characters this is beyond the perfect Sapphic series. All the characters come to life in a real way .thank you for writing all of these.
This was the most erotic book I've ever read... just WOW! The storyline was great too but oh my be prepared for these hot scenes. You may need a lot of water while reading this!
“‘I, uh, promise I’ll stop flirting with you so much,’ Ainsley added. Wait! What? This made Rachel look up from her work. ‘Who told you to do a dumb thing like that?’ she asked, surprising herself. Ainsley laughed. ‘No one told me. I just…’ ‘What?’ Ainsley leaned forward again and held Rachel’s eyes with her own. ‘Look, I just want you to know that I really enjoy your company, Rach.’”
Heroine: 29 year old Rachel Hamill Heroine: 29 year old Ainsley Janowicz
Woman meets woman. Feelings are felt. A connection is formed. Loved that Ainsley was referred to as the blonde Vanessa. The cult of Vanessa is alive and kicking.
Cliffhanger – no (book #4 in series) POV - Rachel & Ainsley
Great character development, too much smut ngl. I liked how fast they bonded and the little things they bonded over. Could’ve had a little bit more action but overall a great quick read.
