All Hell's loose... and it's coming for me.The only thing I know how to do is throw the first punch, so after a demon attack and a stand-off with some murderous Watchers, I return to face the king of Hell with a dead ex-cop and an adorable hellhound puppy. Things go bad quickly, especially when Hell's ruler gets assassinated and I lose my Scythe powers. Now it's fight or flight, and I never learned how to flight from my problems. But if I don't at least try to take down my evil brother, more than just the fate of Hell lies in the balance. Demons and angels are gathering, waiting for an opportunity to push their advantage. And the only thing that stands between an all out apocalyptic nightmare, is me and a pack of wolves. At least there's no zombies this time.Hell & Back is book two in a thrilling urban fantasy with captivating characters, a fresh take on supernatural folklore and just enough magic and action to keep things interesting.

Max and Luke need to go to hell in this book in order to find her father, face her uncle and stop her brother Peter from putting his evil plans for earth in motion. Visiting hell is no joke, and Luke finds this out immediately and he finds out much more about Max that she has been keeping from him. Her lies nearly make him leave but Luke feels too involved in the situation unfolding on earth to do this. A leviathan has been unleashed and Bas and Sasha and many other people's lives were on the line. Considering that Max worked best on her own and that she never wanted any ties to anyone, she ended up with a ghost for a partner, a group of vigilantes trying to control her and a hell-hound puppy she never asked for but who she liked best of all. The watchers were infuriating with all their righteousness, barging in when Max could do a much better job than they ever could - ughh! and Max did her best to not kill offhand but to see justice served every time. She had been the heir to her uncle, the king of hell, but she had turned her back on hell and thought to escape her fate and destiny, but now that Peter, her brother, was aiming to usurp the king and take control she felt responsible and wanted to stop him. I love this series, Max is a great heroine, though full of flaws she does her best to help everyone even at the risk to her own life. I love that she returns to hell to save Remi, her ex werewolf lover and I love the ending to this book, Max doing her kind thing again and I look forward to reading book 3 as she assumes the throne!
Max is on the hunt for her dear old dad. However this is the least of her problems as all kinds of supernatural crazy hits her. Relying on her new BFF ghost cop and a motley crew of people...can she save everyone? Huge revelations, tons of action, suspense, snarky humor, and one cute hellhound pup make this follow up to REAPER WITCH one rip roaring good time! This is not a standalone read and does indeed end with a whopper of a cliffy. However it makes me want book three that much more! Think a female Harry Dresden/Buffy/Hermione Granger with tons of humor, snark, and a huge heart no matter her upbringing. Its filled with fascinating characters that are layered and brilliant, and exist within the most fantastical world building. Unlike any world I've ever read about, the reader is left guessing what's next at every step. I friggin LOVE this series and can't wait for more!! 💗🤓
