In the small, secretive town of Ridley Falls, it turns out, is everything I’ve ever wanted. A family. A home. Friends. Even a boyfriend. Okay, mate. That’s still weird to say, but here we are.
And the moment it’s all within my grasp, someone comes along and rips it away again.
This time, it’s not Silas and his thugs forcing me to fight for my place here. If anything, these people make Silas look like a girl scout. They’re dangerous and deadly—willing to hurt anyone else if it gets them what they want: me.
When Kai is ripped away from me, I can’t help but feel responsible for it all.
Not just his fate but the rest of the pack too.
Then there’s Drake.
He’ll do anything to stop the curse from breaking—even if it means pitting me against my mate in a battle for alpha. But I’m done letting other people decide my life. This is lone wolf who’s had enough.

Another addictive installment in the Wolf pack series! I did enjoy reading it, and it has all the intrigue and interest one is looking for in a wolf shifter romance. But (yep, there it is) the one thing that annoyed me in the first book is EXACTLY the same problem I have with this one - only more so.
There is one BIG event that everyone is anticipating. The first 20% of the book sets up the plot. Then, the rest of the book is left meandering around and around that one big thing yet it doesn’t happen until very near the end. The longer I read the more annoyed I got, “JUST DO IT ALREADY!” But Ash waffles so long back and forth, back and forth that I wanted to slap her upside the head and lose the book. And, I guess I was also a bit disgruntled at the author for using the exact same ploy twice in a row to keep a reader turning the pages. So, while all the points and other plots going on were awesome, that one thing made me want to pull my hair out (well, actually pull Ash’s hair out). Yes, it was really that annoying.
Still, I will be picking up the last book in the trilogy because I’ve enjoyed the overall world and plot-line so much that I can’t just leave it hanging.
Ash awakes in a cage surrounded by hostile hexerei, aware of what Ash is suspected of being at least to the Lone Wolf pack. Kai got himself away from the accident site and to the hexerei camp where the threat is that he and Ash are put to death but reason reigns when Ash and Kai make a bargain with the hexerei.
Traveling to Ridley Falls, the pair sees Drake slink toward the hexereii and are met with news of an unusual number of fights, alpha challenges and abnormal behavior. Drake divides the pack by throwing out an challenge, so do visitors. But the hexerei are watching the pack closely and their leader to collect on the bargain.
This reader wanted to like the outing more but didn’t Immature tantrums were tough to read, pieces were force-fitted for a scene and tighter editing wouldn’t have been amiss (mate/girl-boyfriend are interchangeable), to my taste these could’ve cut confusion for a more cohesive read. Without them, challenges, breakdowns and a cliffhanger are the best parts. Rating: 3stars
I’m in love with this series!! I can’t wait for the third book, which comes out in a couple of months!!!
I love Kai and Ash so much!! Not to mention all their friends, who are so awesome!! There are so many twists and turns in this paranormal romance, it had me having the hardest time putting it down!!
If you love a Paranormal Romance with lots of action, twists and turns, and great characters, plus a yummy romance…then I highly recommend you check this series out!!!
This book was freaking awesome! I LOVED EVERYTHING! Great chemistry, hilarious and kick @ss!! All the characters make this story so enjoyable! Is fun to see the action, brawls, bickering and humor!!! Everyone is unique and makes you wish you were part of the lone wolf pack! Ash and Kai bring on #coupleGoals. I love the honesty and brutality of the lone wolf pack. They don't shy away and tell you how it is. What you see is what you get. Nothing personal 😅. IM HERE FOR IT!!!!
I was so excited for this book and wow, it definitely does not disappoint. I started reading and just couldn't put it down. Ash is amazing in this one. I need the next one
Omg this book had me on the edge of my seat. Heather had me stunned with the twist she put these awesome characters thru. I can't wait for book 3 I'm needing it soon.
Again, a fun little story to read, a good mix of sweet and spicy. However, there were parts that I felt could have been fleshed out more. The Drake plot and the Hawley lore felt like it was tossed in to help write the author out of a hole story-wise.
I think there’s definitely good bones here in terms of story; I like the aspect of the wolf self and human self having these two distinct personalities. It’s not something I’ve seen done in quite this way before. However, it also feels like Ash is able to do so much without really ever getting some kind of crash course in pack customs.
I know initially that is part of her issue, but I feel like in the second book there should be the start of some kind of education for her. Even with hexerei stuff; I’d have liked to see some more info about that. Still an enjoyable read, but very much like a snack rather than a full meal.

Book 2 in Lone Wold Series definitely doesn't have middle child syndrome
Wow! I had to carved out time to read this but the second book in the Lone Wolf series, Wolf Captive, is banger. Ash and Kai this find themselves up against a split pack, the hexerai, and their own relationship. Can they get it together before the curse tears everything apart?
I love Ash's character. She's strong yet vulnerable. She's learning how to trust others, her newly found wolf, and her mate. She's found an uncle who has accepted her into his home and heart - a heart that is obviously very well guarded. She's found good friends in the twins who are adorable yet fierce friends. And new allies are stepping forward from places she'd never expect.
I'm giving this book a 4.999999999999 and that's because of that stupid move you pulled, Kai Stone. You know which one. Read the book if you want to go find out.
The author started where she left off in book one which is always appreciated by readers like myself. The mystery behind Ash was revealed during book two. There was plenty of drama going on. I especially like the twins. They're funny as hell and always have something smart or annoying to others to say.
For a good portion of the book, let's say the first 60% of it, I had a major dislike of Ash. I understand she's young and her behavior would be closer to that of a teen than an adult but I found her to whine and complain too much and making stupid decisions constantly. Kai on the other hand was only slightly annoying when he was protecting her. Ash did somewhat redeem herself at the end, even though I still found her annoying.
The ending was good though. That was such a cliffhanger lol. I am looking forward to the next book and seeing how it continues or ends.
Really, Heather really, you just had to end the book like that, dude and there was 2 Drakes what the heck!!! mind blown 😳 🤯🤯🤯🤯 , holy moly this book was freaking interest guys, like it had me yelling at Ash to get her head out her @$$ and take her place, but damn I get it, I get where she's coming from. guys this book will have you on the edge of your seat no joke. heck it had me pulling my damn hair out, I even bit my damn nails down so much they hurt. no joke , but Heather babe when are we going to get the next book, because this $h!t is getting good, man as this series goes on it gets better and better. super excited and anxious for the next book I hope we don't have to wait long, and as always the wonderful Sarah Puckett did a fantastic job, I just love hearing her sexy voice, even when she does the male voice too like damn girl🤒 hot hot hot 🔥 🥵 🥵🥵🥵😁😁😁 okay by for know till next time peeps I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. 😘💋💋💋
When Ash meets Cohen, she knows she's in real trouble. The Hexerei have never looked so frightening, and yet she knows she's a huge part of it. Though she doesn't understand the power she has to change things, she's understanding what it might mean to be the curse breaker. As if the situation with the HEX is not enough, she has to deal with Drake, a wolf who wants power over the pack. However, he's more than he seems too. Where did he come from, and why is he against her breaking the curse?
This second book is just as exciting as the first. I was fascinated by how quickly Ash grew and realized her position in all of the things going on around her. And her relationship with Kai grows right along with her. Perhaps their connection will be a driving force to breaking this curse. I just know I'm looking forward to reading the next book.
This book makes it clear that a side must be chosen, but will the wolves all choose the right side? I was happy to see that Silas becomes likable while still raising more questions about his background.... I am interested in learning more about him. Whereas Drake just continues to get worse, leading to his background finally being discovered, I was so happy to read his ending. Just when the wolves seem to be getting things together within by settling all challenges, a blood oath made comes to light. And Cohen makes one wrong move, threatening a mate and all h*ll brakes lose......only we don't know how because the book ends. So needless to say I will be reading the next book to see what happened.
Wolf Captive is book two in a fated mated shifter romance trilogy that features a sexy bad boy and an engaging plot with multiple twists and turns. This book is a bit darker than a typical paranormal romance as our female heroine Ash fighting a new battle against people that she did not expect to face.
Heather Hildenbrand has created an amazing world and great characters in the Lone Wolf series. I loved Ash and Kai and the chemistry between their characters despite the circumstances that they are forced to endure. I also thought the secondary characters were well written making me want to read more. Wolf Cursed had a plot filled with questions that Ash wants answers to and mystery that made you want to read more. Warning this book ended on another cliffhanger that had me reaching straight for book three.
Wolf Captive was a great read that kept us on the edge of our seats. I would recommend it for readers who enjoy paranormal romance, shifters, mystery & suspense, darker reads, heat & chemistry and sexy gruff bad boys.
Omg I love this series! I had this suggested to me a while back. It was a shifter and witches PNR! Ha!!! Little did I know it appealed, but then was so much more.
Do you love a enemies to lovers, but also a fated mates? 🤗 welllllll❤️🔥
Thank you Heather Hildenbrand for Gifting me this audiobook in return for a non biased review and I promise you it is. This series is one of the best I’ve read!!!
If you love witches and shifters, this is for you.
As this is the second in the series, I don’t want to say too much. What I will say is, please check this out, it’s free on KU but I highly recommend audible 💓
I am enjoying this series even though they end in a cliffhanger of sorts. Not to fear, all books in the series are published. Love the narration from the audible versions of each one. Narration is perfect for bringing the story to life. There are a lot of characters in the wolf pack to get to know but the characters are so well developed, I had to problem keeping the characters sorted. The young hybrid and her alpha wolf journey through lots of obstacles to find there path toward a HEA for themselves and their pack. There are battles, personal problems to straighten out, mysteries to be solved. Highly recommend the book and the audible.
This is book 2 of 3 and I'm absolutely loving this series! The characters are well written, the storyline is great, and the plot twists are awesome! I definitely didn't expect a few of the things that happened to happen! I couldn't put down the book. I'm happy I recently discovered this series because I can read and listen to the last book in the series. I am reading the book on my Kindle and listening via audible, and the voice actor is doing a great job with the characters too. Now it's time to start the last book and I can't wait to see how it ends!
Book 2 was even more action packed than book 1, if that's possible!!
Ash is slowing learning more and more about her powers and her family, if only she could get a few minutes without someone chasing her and trying to kill her!!
Yes, this ended with a bit of a cliffhanger, but I have no doubt book 3 will be worth the wait!!!
This book was a fantastic read that once I started I had a very hard time putting down. It moves along at a great pace making for an easy read. You will love the characters and you want to see them overcome whatever may get in their way no matter what they need to do. The story will keep you interested and turning pages until you reach the end and then you are needing more. This book is a must read, no doubt about it.
This book didn’t disappoint!! I wasn’t prepared for all of the fights and the twists and turns. I was pleasantly surprised and I cannot wait to see wha happens next with Ash and Kai. Ash’s story isn’t over yet and I’m eager to discover what happens next with the witches too. The narrator, Sarah Puckett performance was realistic and she was a perfect voice for Ash. The audiobook was addicting and I look forward to the next book.
That was crazy!! After she was captured they made her make a blood oath 2 help them get their magic back. But at what cost? When her aunt tricked her 2 leave she found her cousin. After Ash and Kia got back 2 their lands all hell broke loose. Can she figure out how 2 break the curse b4 it's 2 late? Her rival will do anything 2 get what they want even by braking the secret laws. But how can she stop them b4 it's 2 late? Read and find out. I liked it alot but there's 1 stop I didn't like was 2 particular deaths that should have never happened in the 1st place!!
Ooo she has done it again! I couldn’t put this masterpiece down when I got it in my hands. I even found myself hiding in the bathroom at work to read just to find out what happened next! The twists and turns of Ridley Falls and the amazing characters will keep you mesmerized! I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds in book #3! You are a goddess Heather…❤️
Wolf Captive starts with a bang and doesn't let go throughout the entire story. Ash has a lot on her plate. My favorite part of this series is the girl power and the strength the Heroine doesn't even know she has. Things are not easy and get really twisted, but the story is far from over.
I absolutely recommend you start with Wolf Cursed if you haven't already. This series is special.
This book and series is getting better and better. Ash and Kai are able to leave the Hexeri compound after they swear a blood oath that Ash will return their magic once she figures out how. They also have to contend with the growing threats from Drake. The twists and turns leaves you on a roller coaster ride to beat all roller coaster rides! I can’t wait for the next book. Is it January yet!!!!
Second book of the Lone Wolf Series and I am still sitting on the edge of my seat. The twist and turns hiding in this story just keep coming. As soon as you think you know what is going on with Ash and Kai and their pack you realize you don’t. Will they ever find the answers to the curse they are searching for?
Well, another great read… And what a cliff hanger!!! Yet again I became lost in the roller coaster of Ash … and Kai… I thought the first book was great…. This one surpassed it in bounds…. Sooo much going on…. Am about to start on the third book of the series…. I seriously cannot wait to see what else is going happen…
I downloaded this series kind of randomly not sure what to expect. I’m typically reading super dark super duper spicy novels and this series is seriously a breath of fresh air. I would say it’s like mature ya at least from my point of view. So the story is focused on the plot and I’m loving it so far
The majority of this was very mid. I actually screamed at Ash a couple of times - girl, why can't you be alpha? I think the plot just moved a bit too slowly between the characters while the reader catches on super quick to what is going on.
Another cliffhanger ending which means I am looking forward to book three!
Just like Cursed, Captive sucked me in & didn't let go. I was completely drawn in from the first page. The twists in this one had me yelling at the book at times, & once again, the cliff hanger has me needing more!
Holy cow! I need the next book! This story just keeps getting better and better! Heather knows how to keep you needing more and keep you on the edge of your seat. That ending!! Holy rabies, that ending! I need that next book yesterday!
