How high does the pressure get inside the friend zone? This goalkeeper is about to find out...

Moving to America forced Liam Daley to leave almost everything behind in Ireland - his family, his team, and his dreams about what might have been. Now on a mission to prove that he's more than second string as a member of the Atlanta Rising Football Club, there's only one thing distracting him: the team's charming and quirky physical therapist, who just happens to be crushing on the hotshot rookie Dash Lazaro.

Avery Houghton is living her dream working for the Atlanta Rising. In fact, life would be perfect if she could just score a date with her dream guy. But overcoming her natural awkwardness is unlikely, and her insecurities aren't doing her any favors either. She's desperate for help, and who better to teach her how to attract a football star than another football star?

As Avery's reluctant partner in crime, Liam hopes to show her that she doesn't need to change for any man. But simply telling Avery how he really feels seems impossible. While Avery gets closer to everything she thinks she wants, Liam starts to feel the pressure. Will he be forced to pass when he's finally ready to make a play for her heart?

This book! I loved it! I kept smiling most of the time while reading it. It’s so funny at times and also very hot. Liam feels he comes second place all the time, in work and relationships. Avery is the team’s PT, very insecure about her body and rambling on and on about “fun facts” when she’s nervous. She asks him to help her “find her sexy” and calls it Operation: Sexy Beast.

I loved them together, they’re a perfect match. Although it took them a looong time to get there, because they were running around in their heads instead of expressing their feelings to one another. But some of those thoughts…. 🔥

At the end of the book there’s an opportunity to download a bonus epilogue. It’s a short one, but it added to the story and I liked it a lot!

I was gifted an arc of this book by the author, this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Ever since the little glimpse of Liam and Avery in Out of Bounds, I have been DYING for more of them. I loved all the hilariousness, the quirkiness and the steaminess that was in this book.

The moment Liam was introduced I completely fell for him. The more I got to know him throughout the course of this story I fell even more. He is a talented goalie and a great friend, but there are also some insecurities he has. I also loved the fact of how clueless Liam was when it came to things in America.

I LOVE Avery. She is my kind of person. She is full of random facts, that she likes to share. She is awkward and quirky. Plus, she shares insecurities that we all share as women. I instantly wanted to be become her best friend.

The chemistry between Liam and Avery is instant. I loved the friendship they formed and the bond they had over watching Marvel movies together. Though, at times these two had me yelling at my kindle because I just wanted them to go for it and give into the flames between them.

If you’re looking for a friends to lovers, sports romance this is one to check out!

Pressure Point takes a bold stand both on and off the field. With a hint of risque temptation and sharp, sassy dialogue Hastings makes quite a first impression. Liam and Avery dare to be themselves despite the chaos that choice brings into their lives. From witty irony to unpredictable emotions, Pressure Point refuses to be contained and that's what gives these unconventional characters an inroad to the heat.

Pressure Point is the second book in the Atlanta Rising Football Club series by Claire Hastings.
This slow-burn/sports/workplace/ friends-to-lovers romance is written in dual POV.
After enjoying Out Of Bounds, I was happy to go back to Atlanta for Avery and Liam's story, and I didn't get disappointed. Pressure Point has a great storyline and is expertly written.

I fell more for Liam with every page I read, he is a fantastic person, friend, and goalie, but he also has insecurities, which made him so real.
Avery was quirky, and I liked her, but she was also frustrated and blind for not seeing what was right in front of her for so long. They both are.
Liam and Avery have a real connection, it was beautiful to witness them going from friends to more. They had chemistry which showed in the hot AF sex scenes.

Pressure Point is an enjoyable read. Claire Hastings builds on to the world she already started to create in the first book. I enjoyed reading about the other characters, it was like meeting an old friend.
The story is pretty low on drama, and it gets solved quickly. My only issue was the pacing, the slow-burn aspect dragged a little.

Pressure Point is the perfect read for all lovers of sports romance. It has steam, humor, drama, all the feels, and hot footballers.

I received a copy from the author but am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

This story will give you all the feels. ALL of them. Liam and Avery have such a unique dynamic that will make you fall in love with them while also wanting to shake some sense into them. Their ending seems so obvious but the road to their happily ever after is a rough one.

‘Everything about her set him on fire, but it was her heart that never seemed to stop surprising him.’

Every heartfelt and frustrating moment is wrapped into this perfect ending that is as adorable as it is swoon-worthy.

The Atlanta Rising is on fire and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

I received a copy of this story in exchange for an honest review.

I'm really enjoying this series, it's one of the best sports romance series I've read in a long time and I think that may be because the books are slightly longer so you build a better connection with the characters.
Avery is a bit awkward around people. thinking they find her random medical fact outbursts weird, she feels she is plain and is hoping to find her inner sexy beast and attract the football hotty Dash.
Liam is a great guy, he has a huge crush on Avery but being the good guy he is he offers to help her find her inner sexy regardless of the fact shes doing it for another man and hes possibly going to get his heart broken.
I loved both charcters, their budding friendship was fun, flirty and at times a little awkward but I thoroughly enjoyed it and cant wait for the next book

So, I’m a fan of Claire Hastings. That should be obvious, so I don’t even know why I’m telling you this. I’ve read all the words I know by her, and they have all entertained me fully. Actually, wait, that might be a lie. I think there might be one or two I have not read but that doesn’t matter. What matters is the part about all the words I’ve read entertaining me fully. Honestly, how many authors do you have in your pocket that you can just pull any of their books out and know it will be a good read? The answer is probably not that many because statistically, the probability of keeping up a 100% satisfaction on anything is not that great and although I wouldn’t go as far as saying 100% satisfaction, the percentage is really high. Okay, but I’ve totally derailed ….

One of the aspects of a story that I hold in high regard is how it makes me feel while I’m reading. It’s important to me that when I read a story, whatever the emotion might be, that it’s realistic and relatable. More than that tho, I want to be happy to be reading whatever journey I’m reading. Reading is not supposed to a chore, so if I’m not happy, then … #twitchy. Pressure Point made me happy. More than that, Liam and Avery made me smile and made my heart sign gloriously loud! Those two kids! MAN, I wanted to be in their circle. Such great characters! Their journey was more on the sweet side than sexy side, but it fit them perfectly. They built a strong friendship as the story moved along and I really just wanted to be part of their circle!

If there was one thing I would change in the story, it would be the amount of time spent on Dash and the conflict surrounding him. In my opinion, it just went too far and had Liam and Avery not been as entertaining as they were, this story could have gone off the rails quick because of it. He took up way too much real estate in the storyline and I just don’t think he needed to. The only thing it accomplished was taking focus away from the main characters and taking some of the shine away from Avery and her personality, hence, the non 5 star rating. That’s my 2 cents. Do with them what you will :)

I fell HARD for Liam. I’ve read about grumpy guys, kind guys, but Liam is the absolute nice guy. The one we all dream about–who puts your happiness above all else, even his own, who’d go to great lengths to do so, who sees you and loves you for all of you, flaws included. It was refreshing to read about such a character. It doesn’t hurt that he’s also a sexy athlete and that he’s good in bed, of course. And that despite everything, he’s insecure? Perfect. The list of his qualities goes on and on.

He’s paired with Avery, who’s also a little perfect–pretty, talented at her job, devoted, nice–except she’s awkward and kind of nerdy. Also, she has no filter and can blurt out anything that comes to her mind, especially when it’s inappropriate. I liked her a lot, but it annoyed me that she’s absolutely awful at understanding her own feelings. Of course, it’s one of the plot point in the story, so I guess it’s okay.

Their interactions are cute and sweet, become quite sexy later on, and I really enjoyed how they go from friends to something more. The relationship took its time to become something else and I liked the slow but steady pace of the story. The book really focus on them, but we still see most of the characters that appeared in the previous book, and there are obvious clues about who’ll we be the subject of the next few books and what trope will be used.

I loved the little bits about sports, with some action on the pitch. I wasn’t a fan of a couple of scenes that felt out of character though–I won’t give them away because I don’t want to spoil any surprise. With the general theme of needing to accept who you are and/or find your true self, I really loved this book, and couldn’t put it down.

Quickie

- Series: Atlanta Rising football club #2 (can be read as a standalone)
- Hashtags: #sports romance #soccer #friends to lovers #nerd #nice guy
- Triggers: N/A
- Main couple: Avery Houghton & Liam Daley
- Hotness: 5/5
- Romance: 5/5
- + Liam, the absolute nice guy–but a little bit dirty in the sheets
- – how much can you be unaware of your own feelings?

I loved Avery!

Atlanta Rising goalie Liam Daley thought everything had changed after moving to Atlanta from Ireland to play for the Atlanta Rising and becoming the starting goalie but when physical therapist Avery Houghton asked him for help so she could catch the eye of Dash Lazaro.

Avery thinks she needs to change to attract Dash, but Liam helps her to realize that he likes her as is and Avery helps Liam realize that he is first in her eyes.

If you like friends to lovers romance with some soccer involved and a slow burn, you need to read Pressure Point.

P.S. I hope the next book is about Cowboy!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Sports romance, unrequited love, friends to lovers, with the perfect amount of spice. Once the full background of the main Hero was revealed, my heart just broke for him! He is so sweet, reassuring, and hot as sin! Not to mention the Irish accent! At some points I wanted to slap the heroine upside the head and tell her to look right in front of her. But I love how her feelings developed and how we really got to be inside her head.

This is not the first book in the series but it can be read as a complete stand alone. But once you read this book you will for sure want to read the first book in the series, and all the other books by this author.

4 star Review Pressure Point (Atlanta Rising Football Club #2) by Claire Hastings

I have only read a couple of books by Claire Hastings but what I have read I enjoyed. Liam Daley is the new goal keeper for the Atlanta Rising Football Club. The only thing that distracts him is his attraction for Avery Houghton, the teams physical therapist.

Unfortunately for Liam, she has her heart set on another team mate Dash Lazaro but he doesn’t notice her, so she turns to Liam to help her get Dash’s attention. I really liked Avery, she is such a fun, quirky character that you cannot help but cheer her on. Poor Liam, Avery cannot see the wood for the trees and has no idea of the impossible position she has put Liam in. There were times that I wanted to yell, at Avery to wake up and see Liam for who he truly was, a caring , passionate and loyal man who could be her future.

Will Liam be able to prove to Avery that she is perfect as she is and has no need to change? Will Avery take her blinders off and realize that Liam is the man for her? The chemistry between them sizzles and as the intensity builds it was entertaining to watch their relationship progress.

Pressure Point is an entertaining read that left me with a smile on my face.

The second book in the Atlanta Rising series doesn't disappoint.

Liam has lost confidence...not on the soccer field but in himself. Being friends with the girl he's crushing on? Brutal! But he decides to take one for the team (namely his teammate Dash, who is Avery's crush).

What happens when helping Avery find her sex appeal builds the chemistry between the two of them? Cue steam, cue fireworks, cue swoon!!!

But no relationship is perfect so Avery and Liam have to struggle to find their HEA.

P.S. I licked Liam a long time ago! He's mine!!

This slow burn, workplace romance as all the feels. And laughs. And super steamy times. I love romances like this where the hero "coaches" the heroine to help her find her sexy side, even though she's had it all along. SWOON. One-click this sports romance and don't miss out on Liam and Avery!

This was a great friends to lovers romance! I absolutely loved Liam, he’s just the sweetest guy. I did keep telling both Avery and him to please stop it with the questioning of what was happening and use their words, but it never got too annoying. Their connection was clear, but I can totally understand not wanting to ruin the friendship! It’s always a difficult situation.

Possible spoilers?
It was definitely a cute story, but frustrating at times. I felt like I was yelling at Liam and Avery to just talk about their feelings for most the book. Also, I just have to say… my girl, Avery, was blind as a bat if she looked past Liam for that long! Lol
Liam and Avery were well developed characters and you could definitely feel their chemistry through the pages (very steamy chemistry!) I could feel their magnetism for each other jumping out of the book at me.
I also always enjoy a book where there’s not a ton of drama. Naturally there was some, but it didn’t really take away from the story. Liam and Avery’s relationship was very easy going and enjoyable to read and even at the end they were both willing to admit their faults and move through them quickly.
The family dynamic of the coach, his daughter, and his wife (owner of the team) was a fun addition and made it feel like a more well rounded, “wholesome” story.
Overall.. good book! It’s a good day or 2 quick read if you’re looking for something a little sweet and a little spicy!

Liam and Avery are steamy sexy goals!

There's humor, there's heat, there's happily ever after, what more could you want?!

But seriously the struggle that these two go through to get to their happy ending is fantastic. The chemistry and swoon factor alone are tremendously amazing!

I cannot wait for the next book in the Atlanta Rising series!

Bravo Ms. Hastings!

As a fan of friends to lovers romances I was immediately drawn to the premise of this book, charmed by the two main characters, and entertained by their banter. Though much of the story was familiar I still enjoyed the connection between Liam and Avery...even though I wanted to shake them a time or two.

Liam Daley's the kind of hero you fall for immediately, an all-around nice guy, a good friend and supportive teammate. Plus, there's his sexy Irish accent to make him even more drool-worthy! He's sweet and sexy too but weighed down by insecurities that have him assuming that he'll always be second best. The moment he meets his team's new PT is the moment he truly wants to be first, but she instead has eyes for his popular teammate Dash. Because of his good guy nature he offers to help her win the man of her dreams in a journey of friends becoming something more, a slow-burn journey of playful banter, and interactions that become steamier and steamier. Liam's a delicious hero, almost too nice at times for not telling Avery how he really felt much sooner. From the outside he seemed rather self-assured, but the reveal of his self-doubts courtesy of an ex made me ache for him and like him all the more for showing his vulnerabilities.

Avery Houghton is a quirky heroine, one who rattles off random medical facts when nervous. She too is weighed down by self-doubts & negative feelings about her body. Feeling comfortable around Liam, bonding over their love of Marvel movies, has her reaching out to him to help her unleash her inner sex kitten to win over his teammate. What ensues is a slow-burn journey of witty banter and a connection that can't be denied as it's clear that these two friends are meant to be more. I liked Avery for her everyday woman vibe and her quirks, but she frustrated me A LOT. Dash clearly wasn't interested in her and yet she wouldn't stop chasing, ignoring the good thing right in front of her until it was almost too late.

On a whole this was an entertaining story, a sweet and sexy romance with crackling banter. The interactions between Liam and Avery grew hotter and hotter with each turn of the page and I was on the edge of my seat waiting for them to finally jump each other. I enjoyed watching them together and wished the story had just been about them, without the distraction of Dash as I found him rather irritating. The slow-burn between these two dragged on a bit too long too and it had me screaming at them to wake up more than once during my reading. I enjoyed seeing Liam's teammates too and am excited for future stories as they all showed themselves to be quite tempting. Fans of sports-fueled romances will find a nice balance of sports and sexiness and I look forward to where Ms. Hastings takes us next.

This is book 2 in the series but it easily stands alone. I am a huge fan of the author from her previous series, Indigo Resorts, that is interconnected to this one. However this series is written very differently than that series.

This is a sports romance, it takes place in Atlanta and the sport is football or soccer as its known in the UK. In this story we get to know Liam who we also met in the first book. In this story, he has a HUGE CRUSH on Avery, the teams PT and has been friendzoned. But she has a crush on the teams superstar, Dash. But Dash has a crush on Thalia, who is the coaches daughter and Liam's good friend.

Here is a chart

Gunnar (coach) is with Felicity (owner of the team)

- Thia is Gunnars daughter

- Liam is a player on the team and close to all three.

- Avery works for Felicity and Gunnar as a PT

- Liam has a crush on Avery

- Avery has a crush on Dash (teammate)

- Dash likes Thia

Avery in this story is extremely immature. She actually grows up in this story and we see her mature. She is very high school with her crush on Dash. She is also very awkward in social situations and those were amusing to see. She even comes up with a crazy scheme to get Dash and its also very high school.

Liam likes Avery a lot. He was a sweetheart. Why he liked Avery, I don't have a clue but by the end of the book I liked them together. His story was so sad and honestly I HATED his ex Orla. What she did was so awful and honestly I did not understand how his family accepted that. As to Avery I loved that she has his back in relation to what happened to him.

This was a fast read. There is slight drama and a slight love triangle. I enjoyed the story and while I found Avery very immature I enjoyed watching her grow up in this story and figure out who she is and what she truly wanted for herself.

I received a complimentary early release copy of this e-book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

5 Stars for this football, friends to lovers, awkward, romance delight!

I smiled my way through this book, from the first page to the last, Liam and Avery had me feeling the love throughout as their relationship developed and grew from friendship to more with a real slow burn!

Pressure Point is book 2 in the Atlanta Rising series, a soccer/football romance starring the brooding Irishman and his love interest, Avery, the teams physical therapist. These two develop a lovely friendship, both are vulnerable and insecure in their own way, yet can be themselves around the other. I love their joking and the complete natural way these two can just be in each other’s presence. Liam slowly starts to let loose and confide in Avery, especially about his family and his feeling of wanting his own thing, hence the move to Atlanta from his hometown of Dundalk, Ireland. He clearly has feelings for Avery, but he’s been put firmly in the friendzone!
Avery always feels awkward around men, spouting random physical therapy information when she’s nervous. Yet Liam makes her feel comfortable within her own skin, and despite her mega crush on his teammate, she enjoys Liam’s friendship and his help whenever she asks. Could this lead to more than just friendship?
Claire Hastings has written a truly great book that has so many elements I enjoyed!
-Sports romance set in the Atlanta Rising football ⚽️ World
- friends to lovers
- charity auction, with the men of the team going to the highest bidder
- an eclectic bunch of teammates
- the Marvel movies
- a vulnerable, Irish hero and a cute, awkward heroine.

Recommend to all who enjoy contemporary romance, this is a series I’ll be reading more of!

I received an early copy of this book and this is an honest review.

Since the first book in the Atlanta Rising Football Club Series Out of Bounds Liam and Avery grabbed my attention, I am so happy to finally have their story.

Liam Daley plays as a goalie for the Atlanta Rising Football Club (soccer), after leaving his home in another country Liam hoped he could find what he couldn’t find there. Himself. I was blown away with Liam since the first book in the Atlanta Rising Football Club Series. The quite ones always seem to run deep with their truths, my heart went out to Liam as he told Avery about what he thought of himself and his life.

Avery Houghton is a PT trainer for the Atlanta Rising Football Club. This heroine knows her stuff when it comes to an athlete’s body, but when it comes to knowing her own self worth there she stumbles a bit. There is nothing I don’t adore about Avery, from her smart as all get out brain to her sweet innocence she had me cheering for her from beginning till the end.

Author Claire Hastings you have delivered yet again a stellar read in Pressure Point. Liam and Avery are interesting enough on their own, but when they are together things get even better. The question here is will she or won’t she? Pressure Point’s plot is a well penned soccer romance that leaves you wanting more. Who will be the next Atlanta Rising Football Club member to fall? It’s without a doubt going to be interesting to find out.

Until next time, I will see you on the Pitch.

I have never wanted to smack a heroine more than I do Avery! Holy @#@# That woman didn't just need a serious reality check with how beautiful she was. She needed a whole new set of eyes! Sure pretty boys are fun to look at and fun to play with. But at the end of the day that is all they are, fun. When a man feels like home give up on the pretty eye candy and see where your heart truly is. I'm so happy she figured that out. But it took forevvvvvvver for her to get there!

Liam, where do I start. Can I start by saying I also wanted to smack his brother??!! Seriously!! Those two did a number on him. Sure it wasn't forever love but there is such a thing as talking to family about it first. Ugh! I just want to cuddle that big Irish man and tell him he isn't second rate. That he deserves a million times better. As I said above I'd glad Avery got her head out of her $%$ as Liam was the perfect gentlemen. I mean seriously, the things he did for her. ❤❤

This was a great book and I find myself loving this series. My only contention with this book was that it took FOREVER, and ever for Avery to get out of her own head.

This is the second book in the Atlanta Rising Football Club series and it follows Goal Keeper Liam and Avery the teams Physical Therapist. Right from book 1 I wanted to know more about Liam, he was the quiet shy type who loved the marvel franchise ( my kind of guy). I fell for Liam instantly, I just wanted to cuddle him because who would not want to fall for him?

Liam and Avery have so much in common in their insecurities. Liam always feels 2nd best and Avery has social anxiety and self insecurities. Avery is trying to change for a guy she has a crush on and Liam is helping her " Find her sexy". In the process Avery starts to see Liam in a different light along with herself. They both help each realize things about themselves and in return start to exit out of the friendzone. This book is filled was so much, comedy, steam, romance and learning to love who you are. Bonus points to Claire for getting all the Marvel information correct. Great addition to this series and look forward to learning more about the rest of the players.

Pressure Point makes the most important statement.. Everyone has their insecurities but it is never worth changing who you are for someone else, somebody will always love you for you.

My Review ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️

I could not have ask for a better story for Liam! He caught my attention in the first book an I was so excited to hear that he would getting his on story.

The quiet Viking with a heart of gold has his sights set on the cute red headed trainer Avery. Little did he know that it may be a pipe dream since she had eyes for another play. When she ask for help with getting her sexy going Liam say yes but instantly starts to regret but when he gets to spend time with Avery it can’t all be bad right. Yeah that’s what he thought to until feelings start to come into play.

Avery may have started this little self made project to catch the eye of the teams number one played she never imagined what she had been looking for the whole time had been right beside her watch Marvel movies. But as the saying goes all it took was a look and then a kiss and she was a hooked.

I loved these two as a “couple” even though I wanted to announce it to the world long before they realized it. The sweetness that Liam showed and the way he treated her showed that every girl needs a Liam.

This story was an all around great read. I was hooked from the first chapters and couldn’t put it down long into the night. I can’t wait to see what else will come from this awesome series.

* I received this book as an arc for my honest review.

I don't how Claire Hastings managed it, but this book is both sweet AND hot! With Liam's quiet charm and Avery's quirkiness, it was a book that I kept loving more and more as I read it.

Liam has it bad for Avery, but he knows she has it bad for his teammate, Dash. Even as he knows that planning for Avery to catch Dash's attention would most likely hurt him in the end, he finds himself unable to stay away from her. Will he end up coming in second, as usual?

Avery loves looking at Dash but soon realises she feels more comfortable with Liam. He's sees her, truly, and she is free to be herself without worry or judgement whether it's a night out, or a movie night indoors. But will she realise that the one thing she's been looking for her whole life is within reach before she alienates Liam for good?

I can't recommend this book enough. Liam & Avery burn up the pages as much as they create soft, mushy feelings. There's fun, laughter, and lots of steam, as well as great friendship and camaraderie in these pages. You definitely don't want to miss it!

I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.
