Why do some people and businesses accomplish deep and resounding success and prosperity while others do not? What are the qualities that set them apart?
Prior to writing this book, Ashkan Tashvir spent more than a decade working with and studying entrepreneurs, startups, leaders and investors, including many exceptionally high achievers, to discover the behavioural patterns and qualities that determine success or failure. He found that it's not due to a lack of capital, technology or the right techniques or strategies; it's because of who and how they are BEING, the underlying qualities that drive their behaviours and actions.
In his book, BEING, Ashkan lays out a comprehensive paradigm called the Being Framework™ which distinguishes each of these qualities, mapping out how and why each plays a critical role in performance, effectiveness, influence and leadership. Too many leaders overlook the people side of business. This framework is engineered to deliver a unique, systematic way to address this.
The Being Framework transcends far beyond today's popular quick-fix recipes for success or self-affirmation. Instead, it draws your attention to the extraordinary power of discovering and honing your well-polished qualities and casting light on your Being to reveal the 'shadow' or troubled parts of you, explaining how those can be transformed. Fundamentally, this book focuses on how to BE so you can have whatever you care most about in life and make a meaningful contribution to humanity.
I have partnered with Ashkan for the last 4 years as I have watched the phenomenal growth of his endeavours. His mere presence and contribution to me through the Being Framework and Being Profile and now the release of Being, The Source of Power have significantly impacted my ability to be effective as a human being and a leadership coach for people with disabilities like me.
For me this is a reference book which is effective in clearly providing a conception of existenence and being. I have read several chapters more than once and others I have not yet gotten to. This is the source of most of the work I do.
Ashkan has a relentless pursuit of empowering people to be their authentic self and be effective at the same time. He is an old soul in my opinion, and I recommend you read his articles and books.
This book gives us access to a paradigm shift to how we look at human being and how we can work towards effectiveness and fulfillment. There are some key points that Ashkan Tashvir makes in his book that align with my world view after studying many different approaches in psychology and coaching. Some of these are: Acknowledging that human beings have trouble parts we each need to address if we want to be effective in life, what in his book he calls our shadow parts. The fundamental principle that we CAN transform to fulfil our intentions and objectives. That our BEING requires maintenance, care and polishing. But to know what parts to work on first we need awareness. That it is critical we check the accuracy, congruence and clarity of our perceptions. This allows us to check how aligned our perceptions are with reality through what he calls in his book the Exposure Triangle. And finally, what does a reality check actually mean? How he explains the three layers of reality and how this is critical when we want to be effective in our lives, as leaders and in business.
This book is an invitation to wipe down the pair of glasses we are wearing to see more clearly and discern what is driving us, other human beings and the world.
This will allow the readers to understand themselves at a deeper level and also have increased discernment when engaging with others in relationships and in business.
This book is a must-read for anyone interested to understand the depth of leadership, performance, and effectiveness. No matter if you are a coach, consultant, or simply want to research and find out what deeper qualities drive human behavior.
So often we think behavior, personality, or a set of rules define us human beings. Labels such as introvert, extrovert, Thinker, or Organiser - depending on which test you do - simply putting humans into a box and we think that's it! That must be who we are and as a consequence, we live life in a box! Ashkan validates and references more than 200 sources for human transformation - the ability to truly transform what lays underneath behavior and our decisions.
This book enables you to look deeper and empower your clients, team or organisation to have a true access to performance, leadership and effectiveness.
The Being book is about real transformation, a distinction for that it is challenging to find a good description in short it would be what is generally referred to as the wonderful transformation from the caterpillar to the butterfly. The Being Book: it is not tinkering around the edges it is a deeply profound account of our inner qualities that drive our decision, behaviours and results in life. It has been so well researched and brings philosophical context and historical background, that many readers wouldn’t necessarily be acquainted with, in an easy-to-follow format available for everyone. With this book the author puts the ‘human’ part back into humanity and explains to the reader in detail how they need to change, where they need to look within themselves to become authentic and empowered to achieve their life goals.
Essential reading for business owners, leaders of teams and parents. Being is a deep dive into how we relate to ways we are being as humans. The way we relate, creates our reality. This book has changed how I relate to issues I once was one-eyed and passionate about. It's a game changer. Ashkan is devoted to a better world for human beings.
On one hand, many concepts that BEING brings up are not new. However, the way they are structured, clearly defined or distinguished and then the way the interrelationships between them are depicted is what stands out. It will take effort and energy to go through and understand how each of the layers and aspects interact with one another. But it is well worth it.
This book has been my reference point when I feel stuck or confronted by whatever life throws me. I resonate with its content and it's the most articulate in its field that I have come across. It is a heavy read in that it is thought-provoking but in a very good way that has both comforted me and challenged me on many occasions. For someone who is willing to be open and who is dealing with fears or anxieties.
