A desperate woman on the run… An overwhelmed rancher who needs a wife… A tragedy that threatens their fragile relationship…
Amy Gordon is a swindler escaping from a deal gone bad and the former partner who blames her. Determined to stay out of trouble and out of his clutches, she takes the first train leaving Chicago. When the train derails, she steals the ticket of a crash victim headed to Angel Creek in Montana Territory.
Amy believes if she can make it to Angel Creek, she can evade the vengeful former associate. But coming from Chicago, Amy had no idea such a desolate landscape existed. She decides to play her part until spring but then she will head for civilization and a new life.
Rancher Spencer Wood has become guardian of his three young nieces and needs help caring for them. He admits he’s lonely and is ready for a companion to share his life. He sends for a mail-order bride and looks forward to a wife who will be a good example and caregiver for his nieces, and for the future children he and his wife will have. When Spencer is severely injured, he wonders what will happen to his family if he doesn’t recover.
Spencer is the kind of man Amy had hoped existed but never thought she’d meet. He treats her with respect and charm. But raising children is confusing, and she is a novice at managing a household. How long before she can move on? She hardens her heart against her husband and the girls, but finds herself slipping.
Will she have the courage to stay or will she run?

I admit I have not read a book written by Caroline Clemmons I have not loved no matter what genre! The characters of Amy, Spencer and the 3 girls are so real. The storyline development was excellent. A quarter of the way through the book; I could not put it down. I have read all the Angel Creek Christmas Brides. The ones written by Ms. Clemmons are the best and Amy was perfect, my favorite of all 25. (l still have one to read.).
Taking on someone's identity can be tricky especially when you fall for the girls and groom. A little drama,a shooting, a father to appear and the whole lie is exposed. A short, easy read but entertaining.
A very entertaining and fast paced book. I will look for more books by this Author. I love to read but i am terrible at writing reviews. Amy: Angel reek Christmas bride book 25
This mail-order bride story had an interesting twist in addition to its bride that took advantage of a sad circumstance to escape a situation that was even worse. Good characters, loved the three nieces, a sweet read.
What an amazing story! Very unique and exciting. I loved the storyline and characters. It held my attention and, in fact, kept me up reading into the night because so much was happening.
Caroline Clemmons never fails to bring a good story with interesting characters. What could be more of a seeming mismatch than a straight arrow sheriff and a street wise young lady more accustomed to skirting the law than following it. The big question is can Amy successfully pose as Bethany? I really enjoyed this book.
Caroline Clemmons, has never disappointed me with her well-written books and I found this to be one of my favorites. I enjoyed this storyline and cared for the well written characters. With a bit of suspense, a romance filled with plenty of angst, I was thoroughly entertained throughout the book and smiling as the author tied everything together for a wonderful HEA. Recommend. JudyE
