A long bio can be kind of boring, so instead I'm going to pretend
that a famous journalist (maybe Barbara Walters) is interviewing me.
The only thing is, I'm making up the questions.
If you think of any other questions you'd like me to answer, send me an email and ask away!

Q. Where did you grow up?
A. I lived in Fairfield, Connecticut until the end of fifth grade and then I moved to Roslyn Heights, New York. That's on Long Island. But I don't have a bad Lawn Guyland accent, I promise.

Q. Do you have any siblings?
A. Yes, I have two younger brothers. I always wanted a sister, but it's kind of nice being the only daughter in the family, and my brothers and I are really close.

Q. What about the rest of your family? Are you close with them too?
A. Yes, family is really important to me. I talk to my parents and grandparents every day.

Q. Are you married?
A. Yes, to a fabulous guy named Dave. We met at sleep away camp when I was sixteen.

Q. Do you have any kids?
A. Yes, my daughter Aleah Violet Rosenberg was born on May 28th, 2010 and I personally think she's the cutest baby in the world, but of course I am biased.

Q. Do you have any pets?
A. I had a miniature toy poodle named Yoffi, but he died in 2007. I miss him so much.

Q. That's sad. Do you think you will get another dog?
A. I would love to adopt one very soon!

Q. What is your favorite book?
A. Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt is my favorite book in the whole entire world. I read it in sixth grade in Ms. Mayer's class. I have read many books since then, but Tuck Everlasting is still my absolute favorite.

Q. What is your favorite movie?
A. I have two. Clueless and Avalon.

Q. What's one of the craziest things that's ever happened to you?
A. I won a radio contest at the end of eighth grade! Someone from Z100 called me up and asked me to say the "phrase that pays" and I answered correctly. I won a thousand dollars.

Q. Did you always want to be a writer?
A. No, not always. I wanted to be a hair stylist, then a concert pianist, then a rabbi. But I always loved making up stories, so I think writing is the perfect job for me.

Q. Where did you go to college?
A. I went to Binghamton University in upstate New York. I was an English major with a concentration in creative writing. It's reallllllllly cold in Binghamton. Then two years after I graduated college, I went to The New School to get my MFA in writing for children.

Q. You mentioned that you met Dave at sleep away camp. Did you really like sleep away camp?
A. YES! I loved it. I went to Eisner Camp in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. I would go back to camp forever if only I could. Sleep away camp is the best place in the world.

Q. Tell me some other things you really like.
A. Okay. Here's a short list: sleeping late, fancy hotels, reading and writing (duh!,) peanut m&ms, flip flops, sweatpants, people watching, New York City, cheese omelets, weddings, pedicures, looking at old pictures and re-reading old cards and letters.

Q. Tell me some things you really dislike.
A. Peas, mean people, rats and mice, sweating, pants and skirts with a side zipper, spicy food, uncomfortable shoes, people clipping their nails on the subway, feeling lonely or thinking about other people who might feel lonely.

Q. MY LIFE IN PINK & GREEN is about a pharmacy. Do you really like pharmacies?
A. Yes, I love them! I love the way they smell and the way the aisles are arranged. I love when the pharmacists know the customers and I love looking at all the beauty products.

Q. Do you write every day?
A. I try to, but in addition to writing I also work in the library at The Birch Wathen Lenox School in Manhattan. I love being around kids and books and talking to kids about books!

Q. I don't have any more questions. Is there anything else you'd like to add?
A. Just that I hope readers like my book, and I'd love to hear from all of them if they want to talk to me!

Another sweet story from the Friendship List series. I like that Kaylan and Ari were in different places for this one and focused on other aspects of their lives outside of their friendship, but still stayed in touch and also dealt with some drama both separately and together. Ari's experiences made me nostalgic for overnight camp and Jewish retreats. (I could even relate to being there with my sister, who was also homesick early on.) I could totally see my oldest child doing a comedy program like Kaylan did.

Some parts of the book were inconsistent, either with the synopsis or with stuff said earlier in the book. There were also some errors that should have been caught before going to print. However, this didn't keep me from enjoying the story overall and I doubt the actual audience for this book would catch these issues.

I hope Lisa Greenwald continues this series, as I'd love for Kaylan and Ari to at least finish up middle school and get closure on some things that were left open at the end of this book. My daughter even felt that the ending was a cliffhanger. (Also, I enjoy discussing these books with her, as I don't normally read the same books she does.)

I loved this book! It's the last book in the series, but I think it ended up being my favorite! Throughout the series, the books just get more and more interesting. The whole series is also relatable which makes me more interested! I don't want to spoil or anything, but there is also a summary if you click the book. Try it!

To be honest i’ve loved the 11 before 12 series but this book was just not it. I have just started getting into reading and this took me a very long time to finish cause it was ok. The other 3 books were very good but, this deserves 2 stars cause I liked how this was in a new places (camp), and the ending was very sentimental. I wished at the end though we got to see the future when they dig up their time capsule.

My first time writing while reading a book. Here we go:

Chapter 1: I’m barely a page deep and Ari is annoying me because she’s pushing down Kay’s feelings I mean it isn’t the time or place by the poll but still! And why are the lunch table girls being so kind to Ari and Kaylan. I would like to know more about them and that they are actually happy with this group when Ari and Kaylan basically use them so the won’t be loners. Yk? The weird bff’s 😭

Chapter 1: Also can everyone STOP being rude to Cami. Yes she’s over the top but all she needs is guidance. Everyone acts annoyed at her and that could hurt someone deeply I hope they deal with that.

Chapter 1: NOPE NOPE NOPE! Ari is TOXIC! There is no way she “loves” Golfy/Jonah. I love Golfy he’s literally perfect. A really nice boy. And Ari takes him for granted. She just falls in love with whatever boy is closer to her so she can kiss him 🙄.

Chapter 1: All of the list ideas from the LTG sound good! And Cami’s weren’t as bad as Kaylan was making it seem. And why are they saying the LTG are great but they need one on one time. I’m starting to think both of them are toxic. At this point I’m hate reading 😔.

Chapter 2: I don’t want to read Aris pov. She’s honestly a meanie. Kaylan can sask questions she should be trying to prep her for camp! Not telling her “it’s just a camp thing” GOSH SHES ANNOYING!

Chapter 4: WHY IS ARI MAKING KAYLAN SUPPRESS HER FEELINGS! She’s telling her not to cry like crying is horrible! If Kaylan would have cried at that sleepover all her agita well most of it would be gone!

Chapter 4: I hate how Kaylan and especially Ari act like their mothers are the worst. Ari’s mom is giving her solid advice “take care of your sister” especially because Gemma has been crying and sulking. And all Ari can do is roll her eyes 🙄. Bruh!

Chapter 4: BOARDING SCHOOL! Ari is just a bag of plot twists. She definitely doesn’t care about Kaylan! Kaylan needs to get away from Ari’s toxicness.

Chapter 5: here we are again with Ari being a bad person actually. If her sister is worried HELP her! Stop thinking she’ll “ruin” your summer! It makes no sense, she just needs some reassurance. Ari is SELF ABSORBED!

Chapter 8: UGH! First of all Golfy is really romantic apparently. Second of all, ARI IS A BOP! And I’m so sorry Golfy is falling for her because she’s pretty…

Chapter 8: GOLFY HAS ALL RIGHTS TO SAY WELL SE HOW IT GOES! Arianna is dramatic and needs to chill. She breaks the guys heart and he is still wrapping his arm around her? She has a bad mindset that she can do whatever and deserves the best. She needs a reality check asap.

Chapter 10: I’m going to predict that Zoe and Kaylan’s parents get married move to the city and then Ari is free to go to boarding school for reasons idky she’s wants to. But why is she getting upset about Kaylan moving when sis wants to go to boarding school! DOUBLE STANDARD MUCH!

Chapter 10: ARI IS SO ANNOYING! Golfy is being so sensitive and sentimental and she laughs at him! Then he says she’s the awesomest! RUN Golfy RUNNNN!

Overall: I got tired of writing for earch chapter. They continued to annoy me and I’m glad the book is over. But there are also something’s left unfinished you know? What happens with Ari? What happens with Kaylan and Otis. Does Ari change her ways and her and Golfy get married in the future? Things I want to know but I also don’t care because the book was meh.

2.5 stars

I love how Greenwald describes summer as magic in this book, because it truly is!
[SPOILER ALERT!!!!] The part where Ari and Golfy are going to do the "something daring" part of the list together (with the golf cart) made ME, THE READER, WHO WAS NOT EVEN EXPERIENCING THIS felt nervous, sitting on the edge of my seat (or in my case, pillow) wondering what was going to happen. Were they going to successfully drive the golf cart and make it back to their bunks? Or were they going to get caught? (SPOILER: they got caught!)
The rumor has it that this is the last book in the Friendship List series! It seriously hurts me to hear this. It's such an amazing series that middle-grade girls can relate to and in some cases, learn from. Although, it'd get a little weird when Ari and Kaylan are in their 20's...
Lisa Greenwald, if you're reading this, please please PLEASE make a fifth Friendship List book! Pretty please with sugar and rainbows and a cherry on top!
Yes, I would recommend this book to friends! :)

Perfect Ending to an Amazing MGLit Series

'13 and 3/4' is a fun and sweet finale for The Friendship List Series. Packed with quirky characters, camp adventures, middle grade romance, and real-life struggles, the character development of Kaylan and Ari from the first book to now gave me chills and garnered a tear or two once I turned the last page. I wish we could follow these characters more throughout their lives, but all good things must come to an end. This was a wholesome and satisfying ending. I highly recommend this series for children and tweens and anyone who enjoys reading middle grade lit.

I have all the books in this series, and I loved all of them but I liked the other books more. I feel like the book was faster paced than all the others, and that wasn’t a good thing. Especially since this book was about the two girls going to camp and experiencing new things, like Kaylan getting a boyfriend and Ari getting back with Golfy. I felt they were rushing through camp, and didn’t focus on the list as much as before. They mostly did a list item within the same timeframe as each other and I thought it was more fun when they did them a different times. Overall, it was a very good book.

DNF. I read the first three. The first one was almost five stars, but the rest were awful.

This is the last book on the series and it is so slow and boring. I'm over halfway through and it is just not getting to the plot and I'm just gonna stop.

It is such a shame. Atleast it has the pretty cover for it (ha ha)

This one took me a while, but that might be because I had a lot of homework the last weekend. This is great for middle grade readers, but I get kind of annoyed on how much Ari and Kaylan change their mind about their crush.

I really liked this book! I feel like Ari and Kaylan’s friendship was adapted into such a trusting, good relationship! It’s so cool how their lists are always good things, and the influences for younger and even older readers that the story gives is really nice! I can’t wait for the next book!

I think the rest of the books are very good but this one (13 and 3/4) felt like Lisa Greenwald wanted to be done with the series, and she should have just left it at 13 and counting (her second to last friendship list series- friendship list #3).

A very good end for the series, even though I would like it to continue so I liked that it leaves it open to continue in the future.
