J.S. Michael’s literary masterpiece, Wolf Harvest, is a mesmerizing and distinctive wildlife-adventure tale that takes place in the outer reaches of Pittsburgh and northern Canada. The story revolves around a pack of canines and their daily routines, which are keenly observed by two inquisitive college students, Amy and Sam. Although they receive guidance and mentorship from their professor, Amy and Sam continue to follow the pack in their quest to comprehend their ways and establish a bond with Coda, a coyote-wolf hybrid and the central character in the novel.

The author expertly portrays Coda’s point of view, offering a fresh and enlightening perspective on the relationship between humans and animals. The author’s depiction of the animal characters is so realistic that readers can’t help but be drawn into their world. The characters, including Coda, are three-dimensional and well-developed, making it easy for readers to become emotionally invested in their lives and struggles. You can sense and sympathize with Coda’s ever-changing urge to engage with humans while also keeping a distance from them. The narrative is brimming with excitement, humor, and tension, captivating readers until the very end. The author’s engaging writing style is ingenious and lucid, and the characters are skillfully crafted, with the main character being an animal, adding a unique touch to the plot.

Wolf Harvest is a riveting read that will appeal to animal enthusiasts and fans of fantasy-fiction novels. The intriguing characters and unforeseen plot twists make it an excellent choice for readers who enjoy a thrilling adventure. I highly recommend this book, and it is a must-read for anyone seeking an unforgettable reading experience.

Wolf Harvest is book one in The Canis Chronicles created by J. Michael. The protagonists of this book are of different species; animals and humans. Coda, a coyote/ wolf hybrid, tries to survive in the outskirts of Pittsburg while Amy and Sam, two college students, study him. Then a strange female coyote appears to turn Coda’s routine upside down and the humans will follow them to northern Canada in a dangerous and adventurous trip.
I really liked this book. It is full of action, humour and suspense. Unexpected twists and turns hooked me and kept me entertained until the very end. The narrative style is clever and clear. The characters are very well constructed, the animals and their human counterparts, and they spice up the plot. I strongly recommend it.

As a canine lover myself, I very much enjoyed Wolf Harvest. It is a fantasy novel about the interaction between canines and other canines, other animals, and human beings. It is all written from the perspective of the animals. Our protagonist is Coda, a half coyote/half wolf, who is in search of a pack to belong to, trailing behind him is a pair of college students who were observing him. It's a unique and interesting story that makes me wonder how my canine companions think whenever I observe them. It's a great story of self-discovery, love, friendship, and survival. J S. Michael was able to give a great voice for the characters in the book, and I cannot wait to read more and follow Coda and his friends with their journey.

He is a hybrid, he hunts games, makes allies, and faces bitter rivals. A woman, as mysterious and alluring, turns his world upside down. Meanline Sam and Amy, under the guidance of their professor, drop everything and follow Coda in a heavy blizzard at his sightings. This novel is the first in a projected series called “The Canis Chronicles”. The main character of this book is a coyote-wolf hybrid named Coda. Also featured are human zoologists who are observing the hybrid predator and his companions. This concept could have worked well, but I was disappointed to find that there was no change of “voice” between the humans and the wolves. I couldn’t tell the difference between human and wolf from the way they spoke, which I think is a real pity. For the rest, the book is okay if you don’t mind quite a lot of violence. Although the concept of a thriller/adventure novel with a mix of human and non-human characters is a unique idea, it was not my thing.

The first thing that called my attention about this book was the captivating cover. It’s simple but suggestive at the same time. It absolutely invites the reader to take a look into it.
As regards the plot, it’s well researched and there's a lot of action to fill the pages. Just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, I was taken on to another twist. This made me crazy wanting to know more.
I will look to see if I can find any other books written by J S Michael because he’s a very talented author. Of course that I shared this amazing story to family members that I know love a good suspenseful nail biter like this as well in order they purchase it, too.

This contemporary American fiction is really genius. The storyline is full of adventures and fun actions with a wolf as protagonist. I believe that any story with animals as protagonists can entertain and catch readers.
Apart from adventures, the book is fully packed with instances that make one laugh out loud. I enjoyed the tone with which the author wrote this narrative and the way it flows naturally and smoothly.
The book's exploration of themes such as family, friendship, difficult times and love is poignant and insightful. Michael’s storytelling is captivating, and the characters are so well-drawn that readers will find themselves fully invested in their lives and relationships.

This book is an unusual type of action novel that focuses on animal behaviour and the race for survival in the wild. “Wolf Harvest” by J. Michael is cleverly written and features the viewpoints of both human and animal protagonists. Amy, Sam and their zoology professor are observing the “coywolf” (coyote-wolf hybrid) called Coda. We also get to experience Coda’s point of view as he hunts, observes the humans, and interacts with other animals. Personally, I thought the writing style was a bit “run-of-the-mill,” but the unique story idea goes a long way to making this book stand out anyway. I recommend this story to readers who enjoy animal tales about survival and action novels.

This fantasy book follows a hybrid coyote-wolf also known as coywolf discovering the city but most importantly surviving Pittsburgh. The book also narrates the interaction and relationship between the two humans. I enjoy how the author portrays two different perspectives, one from the hybrid and one from the humans observing the hybrid. Two different ways of interacting with nature.
The story takes a turn and the struggles begin. I think author J. Michael does a very good job with the plotline. I find "Wolf Harvest" to be an entertaining read. I think this book could be enjoyed by young readers best.
Looking forward to see where Micharl will take book number two.

I really enjoyed it.

Wolf Harvest is the first book in the The Canis Chronicles, a series written by J. S. Michael. It is a fiction novel that combines suspense, humor, love and heartbreak, bigotry, and cunning in the face of fear. Coda is a young male coyote/wolf hybrid trying to survive on the outskirts of suburban Pittsburgh while Amy and Sam watch his movements for a school assignment.
I always like stories of werewolves, vampires and other characters of the same style. The story engaged me from beginning to end because it is well written and the different perspectives proposed by the author are very interesting. It is a great story and I want to read the next book.

J. Michael is the author of "Wolf Harvest", the first book in The Canis Chronicles series. This fiction is completely different from all the ones I've read in recent times. Coda, a young male coyote/wolf hybrid who navigates the city and the woods has his life turned upside down when he meets a mysterious woman.
A friend told me "you have to read Wolf Harvest" and so I did. I made the right choice. For me, this fiction is fresh, modern, with incredible characters. I look forward to reading the sequel to this story, which will undoubtedly be fascinating.
