Heroes and Villains #4

Magician: A Paranormal Organized Crime Romance

Rate this book
The Heroes and Villains saga continues with the fourth book in this scorching hot organized crime romance series that brings your superhero fantasies to life...

The Magician: the not-exactly-heroic new CEO of Heroes Org
Rora: his ex on the run from her abusive captor...

As the CEO of the global company that oversees all superpowered humans, I have a lot of responsibilities-but the board has no idea about the real threat. The alien god Niberu's armada is coming, and even though the former Heroes Org CEO tried to mind-control everyone to prepare, I'm much more subtle-they'll all do my bidding, but they'll do it willingly. Except we're running out of time. The board won't stop riding my ass about image and reputation, making me one slip-up away from losing this company and my best chance at an army to fight Niberu. And my beefcake brother just burst back into my life with the news that one of Niberu's ships crash-landed on earth. But the ship doesn't carry a soldier. It carries . . . her.

The one woman who could stop me from doing what I need to do.

But Rora's fighting her own battles, and when she comes to me asking for protection, I'm shocked enough to agree. Not only that, the board loves the idea of projecting me as a family man. So I'm going to marry Niberu's daughter. Til death-or apocalypse-do us part.

I read this book via Kindle Unlimited.

We're back on the "Connie reads published fanfic" kick. Returning back to the Heroes and Villains series, this book is set in "Phase Two" of the series, which seems to focus on the Asgardian siblings, with this one looking at Lucas Gardson. Or Loki. Lucas has been made the head of Heroes Org and finds himself lowered from his status as a God, to having to answer to his board members, much to his dismay. After finding out that Niberu, an interstellar conqueror, has an armada waiting in space at the end of the last book, this book starts to deal with the consequences of that. A rogue ship comes to Earth, to be greeted by Thor and Loki, and on board is Conan (the Barbarian) and Rora, Loki's once lover and daughter of Niberu. When she comes to him after this encounter, he finds her father has sold her to Conan in exchange for something powerful, something Loki also has, and the only way to protect her is to marry her and keep her under his watchful eye.

I do like that these books have more plot than just straight up filth, but I'm sad we only get a single book dedicated to each character, rather than seeing a continuation of their stories throughout the books. This book was a good part of the series I guess. Loki is Loki, he gets married, he saves the day, they all live (I'm assuming) happily ever after.

If Marvel were Steamy

I’m a Loki stan, so when I saw a Loki inspired spicy romance, I read it.
This was really fun (especially if you’re a Marvel fan). I will have to check out the other ones too.

Excellent spice scenes, decent plot. Absolutely worth a read. Can be read without reading the others if you are just a Loki fangirl.

Steamy Loki Laufeyson inspired romance?! Sign. Me. Up.
(I just wished it was longer and there would have been Jotunheim Loki. Its such a big part of his character that we don’t get to see much of. I love that little blue babe<333)

Overall, great “plot”. Ha.

This wasn’t the story I expected but I don’t hate it. I wish there was more of Loki but I think that has less to do with the book and just more to do with my personal obsession with Loki. This book is pretty consistent with the first three but I think in the first three books the characters felt familiar and so it was easy fun and I didn’t need more. But now with this second set of books they seem to be focused on my favorite characters and I find myself wishing the books were a little bit longer.

Easy quick read, the spicy parts were ok - but I didn’t really feel the chemistry and the plot wasn’t really there, there was no build up and zero sexual tension....it was an already established relationship that had lost its flavour.

Honestly at the beginning I did not like this book, it gave off 2014 wattpad vibes but I kept going and honestly it was just smut every other chapter. I recommend if your feeling risky and want something to try and hide in public.

I just finished The Magician by Natasha Luxe and Lisa Penn. I give it a 3/5 because it's basically a cheap knockoff of the MCU, but with some smut. There's nothing original about their Loki, either. He's got green magic, is powerful, broody, eloquent, brother of Thor and of Hela. I mean??? Can't you come up with at least 1 original detail? His being the CEO of Hero Org. doesn't count because that's the alternate universe aspect coming into play. It's basically AU fan fiction that flew under the copyright radar because they changed just enough details to make it "their own." Despite that, it's obvious it's Loki from the MCU. Also, the problems mentioned in the book revolved around a character named Niberu going after 3 powerful stones. Sound familiar? And that Thanos-esque character is the main villain throughout the series. I'm seriously so surprised they didn't get sued. Their smut is aight, but nothing to shout about. It's just a fun short Loki smut guilty pleasure. If you want originality, and smut that isn't "plug and play," honestly check AO3. Also, the book was very "main character" centred. Everything happened for them, and nothing else. And I'm not saying side characters need to be super important but the way side characters were written in this is as if they're dumb and the only purpose is to flesh out the main character's story. They trembled in fear or twirled their hair because he was hot. Too many unoriginal ideas. The only kudos this book gets is for its excellent use of the enemies to lovers trope and the fake marriage turned real marriage.

Alright I preferred this one more than Secret Sanctum....one question though, why did she not wear underwear to her wedding?
Look are these books perfect? No, but for entertainment value and quick reads they are alright.
Loki in this is, as often portrayed, controlling but the writers try to twist it so he is controlling but in a safe way, in a way that's not abuse but in order to keep you safe. It doesn't happen alot here but it's in there.
I preferred the lovers aspect in this one more because there was a backstory it wasn't insta love. It felt slightly more acceptable to me because there was something behind the sudden sex.
And how are these people SO HORNY at a literal drop of a hat!?...I KNOW that's the point of the story, I know but like there's no foreplay or anything really just ready to go.

This book was SOO spicy! My lord. Or God.
But the plot of this book was dissapointing me a bit.

Spoilers ahead

Everything went really fast and without much explenation the two MC got married. Like, get to know each other a bit besides the sex? And the wedding was literally the next day!
I felt like this book was more about the sex than about the plot. And don't get me wrong I don't mind the sex scenes, it's just that the plot was pretty bad. The concept is such a good idea

I loved everything about this, how it takes its own spin on the Marvel storyline. Loved Loki's character, definitely what I expected when I think of the God of mischief, and I can totally see him taking over an organisation of heroes whilst pretending to be human so that he can achieve his own goal. This entire series is great and I enjoy everyone, but this has a special place in my heart. Thanks for another great read.

Ps sorry for the bad review but I'm not good at them

Really magical book! (pun intended)
It really drew me in and had a great plot. As a big fan of Marvel (especially Loki), this has definitely increased my Loki obsession. The spice in this book was unique to say the least, in the best way possible. Loved this book and will continue to read the others!

Majorly disappointing

I found this to be a sad attempt at a marvel erotica. There were a lot of grammatical errors. The story was dull, and the “spicy” bits weren’t very interesting. I struggled to finish this book. It took me longer to read this than it did to read a 600 page book. Would not recommend if you want a really good read.

I LOVED this book. There were so many things that Loki said that made me swoon! I really loved Secret Sanctum, but this one I like a little bit more. I'm so excited as we start ramping up for the big finale.

It was definitely good but was not giving what it was supposed to give in a Loki based story. I feel with Loki there would be a lot more slow burn and tension but there wasn’t any which I was very disappointed in

FYI definitely a gamora x Loki story

Wah Wah...this one was a bit of a disappointment for me. I mean it's LOKI, or I mean "Lucas" and I was so so so let down. I wish there was more of a connection with the characters and the reader, but I honestly didn't care for either for them.

It is what it is. A Loki fanfiction with fast paced plot and a lot of sex. Villain saves the girl and they live happily ever after. That’s it 🤷‍♀️ everything happened so quickly within 60 pages and then the rest was predictable. It’s an easy read but I didn’t care for it.

I get it, this whole series reads like a fast pace, "wham-bam, thank you ma'am", fanfiction but this one made me stop the series. Which is devastating, since Loki is one of my top fav MCU characters.

I just need a bit more story to go with my smut.

good, easy read.

If you’re looking for a fun, saucy read based on Loki- this is definitely up your alley. This one is definitely more of a fun and easy read than a challenging one though.

Not a lot of plot going on but a WHOLE LOTTA spice. It's good if you're looking for a quick smutty read. Also, if you're a Loki gremlin, like I, you'll love this story about the God of mischief 💚

I don't remember much of this book. The main characters of the second phase are my cup of tea tbh but still a fun and quick read.
