— Not the same river, not the same man. —

After seven years away, Seth and Domenico are back in Sicily with one goal in mind.

Revenge.

The man who’d hounded their family is still alive, and as untouchable as he’s always been. While they wait for the right moment to strike, reality clashes with fond memories of home.

The world they used to know is no more than a memory, and former friends might have become foes. One thing hasn’t changed though: being gay will never be tolerated within the mafia. Where they’d expected a safe haven for their family, they instead find targets on their backs and the sound of sharpening knives.

When Domenico faces his ugly past head-on, Seth is the only man who can deal with the fallout. Together, they are ready to crawl into Hell for their freedom, but what if the price they have to pay is too steep?

POSSIBLE SPOILERS:

They were married, they were fathers, they were gay, and they wouldn’t be shamed into submission, no matter how much it hurt to stand up for themselves.

So divergent from the first ten. So damn introspective. Call-backs to each and every book that came before it. A plethora of memories, both good and bad. Reflections on many of the situations that they’ve successfully endured throughout the years of their fascinating relationship. Even deeper dives into homophobia, Italian culture, masculinity, and other issues we have touched upon in previous novels.

Intriguing homecoming. They are in a snake pit. It’s as if everything—and nothing—has changed. But the biggest transformations? Seth and Domenico themselves.

Seth gets feisty pretty frequently in this installment. It’s wonderful. He still knows how to push all of Dom’s buttons. And Domenico’s growth—just…wow.

Off the charts intimacy. Still! Authentic and ravishing.

Irena is vile. She deserves her degenerate husband.

I’m glad that Seth and Dom (for the most part; and for them, at least) get along the whole time. They’ve outgrown so much of their sparring and bickering and whingeing.

There’s a lot of resolution after the halfway mark. Suffice to say that it’s poignant, dark, beautiful, and fitting.

The ending left me speechless with happiness. Dazzling conclusion to a breathtakingly amazing series.

Their love was complete, and no other relationship could ever rival the connection they shared.

Well, this is the end of an amazing series, friends.

Seth Villani and Domenico Acerbi are a couple for the ages. Fucked up at first, unhealthy at times, and they hurt each other - sometimes intentionally, mostly unintentionally - and it was never exactly easy.

But the journey was worth it. For them, and us readers. And to see where they were at the end of this versus where they were at the beginning is miles and miles of difference.

Don't get me wrong, this is still Seth and Dom, and they have their idiotic moments, even in this, but there's still maturity, even when they make mistakes, that didn't use to be there. Seth makes a particularly stupid mistake in this, lets his anger get the best of him, but he recognizes his bad decision where he might have just been hot headed when he was younger and thought he was doing the correct thing.

They're no longer the young men they were when they first met, instead settled into who they are now, as men in their 30's, who've been through hell and back together, several times over. They might stumble, even in this, but they're truly solid underneath it all, and they get through what might have almost broken them before.

They are a true team, and the other isn't complete without the other. They are each other's other half, no question.

Throughout this book, one thing was certain, and that was their love for each other. Seth has a moment jealousy and says the wrong thing, but just because they're more mature and solid than they've ever been before, doesn't mean they won't mess up every once in awhile and stay stupid things out of emotions that can easily get the best of us.

This very last installment was Dom and Seth tying up loose ends. Now that they're back in Sicily, among the Villani crime organization, and Frederico is still alive, Dom (and Seth) is ready for his revenge.

There's just Santo, the head of the Villani family, that is asking them to wait for important reasons, even though Dom and Seth are getting restless.

Also coming back to their home town means Dom seeing his mother and Seth meeting her. But....it doesn't go quite like we all hoped it would.

Dom's mother was honestly the worst. I know he loves her and in every book since they left he was imagining reuniting with her, but the reality of her just shattered the fantasy of her. She was horrible, especially to Seth. I wouldn't have given her a second chance, myself, but I understand Domenico wanting to and Seth being supportive of it.

She's his only family left, and he still loves her despite everything, and it's hard to give up on that, and of course Seth, who loves Dom so much, understands that.

Doesn't mean I can't totally hate her guts. Like no one gets to do what she said and did . Nope. She was on my shit list basically the minute she opened her mouth.

On the Frederico front, he was the main problem and plot point in this book. It was time for Dom to finally end the fucker. But of course, it couldn't be easy.

And with another young boy in his clutches, it was very sad what happens, which I won't spoil. Just know that what happens break my heart, especially for Dom. What a thing to go through.

Thank god Dom had Seth to be there for him. And that's one of the reasons they need each other. They make the other feel better, happier, more alive. They are the loves of each other's lives.

And though there is plenty of drama in this last installment, we do finally get to have our happy ending for our favorite pair and it is glorious.

After all the horrible shit these two have been through, in book after book after book, they deserved their happy ending so much.

That's what I love about HEA's in an angst book/series. Like give me all the angst as long as something good can finally come out of it in the end, as long as our characters and couples can have a well deserved happy ending.

And Dom and Seth finally get it, after one last hard, fraught battle for their freedom.

I couldn't rate this book anything other than with 5 stars. It had everything that this series is. The dark parts, but the light parts as well, and at the center of all was Dom and Seth, as in love as ever, finally getting their happy ending. In the end I was just so happy for these two, and for getting one last journey with them.

I'll never get enough of these two, but stories have to end at some points, and with these two finally, truly settled and happy, I can imagine their HEA all I want, because they got it.

Just...perfect.

It's bittersweet, to be sure. What a ride, what a journey, this series takes you on. What a ride these two take us on, and saying goodbye was always gonna be bittersweet for me. I just love them too much and hate saying goodbye.

But at least our fave boys are together and happy, living the rest of their life together in relative peace. Couldn't ask for anything better.

Gah! How to end the review for this wonderful book, but also this amazing series overall.

Seth and Dom aren't perfect. Their relationship far from. They've both done such stupid things over the years in these books. But they just worked together so perfectly.

Where they were imperfect, they were perfect together. Their love could rival any star crossed lovers or epic power couples, what have you.

I just loved their love, and how strong they became through all the darkness, the blood and the gore, the lies and deceit, the dangerous situations. Together, they can face anything.

Best ending I could have hoped for. As always with this series, it wasn't always easy to read, and my heart might have broken a time or two, but I guess I'm used to that with this series. Two MASSIVE thumbs up from me. I couldn't put this down, finished in less than a day...it was just perfect.

I'll always miss these two - and definitely come back at times to read their beginning to the end of their story in the future - but it is wonderful to know that Miguel and Nero will be getting a spin-off, so we aren't saying goodbye to this world forever, even if Dom and Seth won't be in the spin-off, it's still in the same universe as this wonderful world these two ladies created.

So while we're saying goodbye to our favorite couple, at least this world will still be alive in some way, and I definitely will love to read Miguel and Nero's story, however long that will be.

Until then...goodbye, Dom and Seth. What a powerful, amazing couple. What a cap off to their amazing, wild, crazy journey. I'll miss these books and this series so so much.

What a ride.

"You're my life," Dom whispered and pressed a soft kiss to Seth's shoulder, cuddling up to him from behind.

omg i loved the conclusion to this series. it was action-packed, family drama (i hated Dom's mom but bless Seth's heart for trying bc he knows Dom still loves her), homophobic people and Seth telling them off, Dom and Seth finally facing their pasts and putting it to rest - just everything i needed to conclude their story and i'm satisfied. <3

*(im)patiently waits for Nero and Miguel's spin off*

What a journey this has been. The perfect ending for the most perfect couple there is. Without any doubt, Guns n' Boys is my all time MM series. Not for the faint of heart but highly recommended for those of us who like our stories with a healthy dose of grit. If you haven't met Domenico and Seth up close and personal, you 're missing out.

A dark mafia gay romance, with homophobes, bloody violence, explicit sex, death and suspense.
Seven years since they set foot on their homeland turf of Sicily. This is the finale that we have waited for, and after everything they have been through, a bit more hardship is necessary to be free.
Dominico, fierce mafia boss, husband, and father,

must wind up the loose ends. He's got long, dark hair and he's tough and dangerous.
Seth, spouse, chef, father and strong partner to Dominico

in all things, needs his family and their peace is coming soon.

Santo is an enemy, but it's his father, Federico, that Dominico wants to grasp. The evil man is destined to bleed. A new bargain is demanded. Their old hometown is filled with unwelcoming folks and hate.

As they strategize, the kids tour, meetings are held, Dom's Mom is despicable, there's a poisoning attempt, beatings, conflicts and treacheries. When they find out Federico is training a new young man, they want to save him.

We get the sizzling sexy times with these two hot men,

that we have come to know. It's explicit, raw, powerful, uninhibited, unleashed, primal, feral, loving and exciting. Passionate Dom and Seth are totally devoted.

Dominico sees his old nemesis and more seedy characters in his stay.
It's bloody at times, scary, thrilling and suspenseful.

This dark story is violent with lots of surprises, and an ending that satisfies.

Magnificent.
Highly recommended.
ENJOY !

"Seth was there to hold him.
His anchor.
The love of his life.
Adrenaline burst through his veins and made his heart race as if he were about to be reborn and leave behind a life of bitterness, loss, and danger."

Same old fucking Domenico and Seth!!!

Oh gosh are these two men such fucking idiots!!! But I guess there's something comforting about that consistency🙄. I really thought that these men would have learned from everything and had actually changed. They had me fooled in the first half but of course it didn't take much to break through that bullshit. I'd love nothing more than go on about how stupid they were and why couldn't they just behave this last time and end Federico in peace but-but it's done. It-It's over...and I'm crying. With joy, with sadness, with grief and disbelief (and not because for almost a week I thought that the dude on the cover was a merman until I realized it was just his legs!) Point is- I couldn't stay mad.

I hope this gif confers my feelings about before, during and after both that realization and the end of GNB:

Anywho...it seems a bit surreal that I've just finished the last book in the Guns 'N Boys series. It feels like just last week I was hiding under my blanket, grinning in the dark over these two idiots and I can't say that I'm ready to let go. Seth and Dom (and Mark) have come such a long way from the noxious beginning and have had quite the arduous journey that was as entertaining as it was twisted and heartbreaking. It just butters my biscuit to see them get their shit together and finally, finally tie up those loose ends and just appreciate and rely on each other. These boys were my first introduction to the darker side of MM and I don't think I would have been as interested in the genre if I hadn't met them. I didn't even write them but I'm strongly attached in a way only an obsessive reader can be. Just saying, I would take out "the Family" for Dom and Seth, no questions asked, if I could. I'm glad even Dana got is happy...or as close to happy as Dana could ever truly be.

Miguel, my baby, I hope to read your full story some day soon.

I understand that K.A. Merikan would be nervous about such a huge series coming to an end but I couldn't have asked for a more authentic and enjoyable epilogue!

Thinking about these boys forever♡

Well, even the most beautiful things have an end...and Dom and Seth's journey was a magnificent one.

All these years I have loved the growth path these characters have made, the difficulties they faced together, the family they created with so many sacrifices and the circle they managed to break, being strong enough to walk away from a life that had unwittingly been sewn on them from an early age.

One of the things I love the most about these characters is their not being perfect, quite the contrary I would say, but that was what made watching them grow and change even better, always with the help of the other.

There is no Dom without Seth and there is no Seth without Dom.

This is the only certainty they have in life, and that's okay for them.

With each other they are complete.

I don't think I will ever find characters like them, they gave me so much through these years and I will never be able to thank Kat and Agnes enough ~

With this last book in the series we are witnessing the showdown that Dom has towards his young self.

The need to close once and for all one of the most painful parentheses of his life.
To leave behind all the rottenness that life has reserved for him, allowing him, finally, to find a new purpose in life.

La famiglia.

But the one he created from scratch with so much effort.
The one who never turned its back on him and was his rock when he needed it the most.

And this family will be the one that, with time, will help him go through all the pain he still feels, because the one of recovery, it's a long journey, but it's for sure an easier one when you aren't alone.

I can't praise this book enough.
I'm just really happy and content.
Because one of the best journey had one of the best end as well, and I couldn't be happier ♡

Can we just appreciate how lovely the cover is? That's exactly how I imagine Dom looks like. For that itself this final book deserve a 5 star.
I started this epic series back in 2015 and I'm glad to read Dom and Seth's achieving their HEA. I have a habit of dropping series especially those about same couple because I got bored or forgotten about the earlier plot to be invested, but this didn't happen with Dom and Seth because they are just so memorable and wouldn't let me go. Eventhough I never did a reread, I remember all the challenges they faced and the hell they went through to be together. If you are familiar with KA Merikan, you know these ladies do not hold back anything. It was violent, raw, gritty and in your face. I'm amazed with how much the characters have grow through the years, the love and trust they have for each other.
Everything came full circle in this final book. Dom and Seth together with their family went back to Sicily because it is Dom's home. Honestly I wish they didn't go back but I guess we need to tie up the loose end and certain bad guy just need to die. I had my heart in my throat while reading this because I'm worry for my men, in fact I was reading it at a fast pace because I can't stand not knowing how it end any longer. I'm glad to say everything work out perfectly well despite certain bump on the road, but I was a nervous wreck for 80% of the book. I wish we have an extended epilogue just to savor Dom and Seth doing normal things mundane things with their children. Saying goodbye is hard.

It’s taken seven years for Domenico “Dom” Acerbi and Seth Villani to return home, and as the journey hasn’t been easy for them, it has been uniquely their experience together. Coming full circle, Dom is ready to right a longstanding wrong and claim what should be his with choices reflecting a path he and Seth are meant to take.

“If the past seven years had taught him something, it was that you had to move on from terrible events, or you might as well dig yourself a grave and lie in it.”

Going into this book was bittersweet, but knew full well it had to come to an end. Thankfully, I am pleased with the trajectory of the plot because it showed how much Dom has overcome and learned. My heart felt for Domenico throughout certain anxiously awaited scenes, yet he acted as the only way he knew how, by defending his love for Seth and what they’ve built together. As for Seth, he cemented his status as Dom’s partner in all ways and their intense connection could not be broken.

Overall, Haven provides much needed closure for Domenico, Seth and their family. This book is a dark MM romance is primarily about choices and redefining family. It would appeal to those seeking a gritty mafia setting.

I can’t believe that’s it… it’s really over? 😩😭

Six years of Dom and Seth and I can honestly say that Guns N Boys is one of my favourite M/M series of all time!
I will never forget them and their incredible story.

Dom and Seth are finally back home in Sicily with their family and are determined to get their revenge on the man that has caused them so much torment and suffering. But it soon becomes clear that being home isn’t everything they had dreamed of.

Dom’s mother turns out to be a homophobic, judgmental and cruel woman. She’s completely clueless and self-centred and I truly hated her! I honestly don’t know how Dom could ever forgive her and if I was Seth? I would have never been in her presence again.

The mafia family are more despicable than ever and Seth and Dom quickly learn that they will NEVER be accepted within the ranks. Not as a married couple. Violence and threats lurk around every corner and they both decide that enough is enough, they need to withdraw from this life and try to create their own slice of heaven in Sicily.

‘What the hell was he doing here? God had always favored him, but none of those people could see it. They didn’t recognize his marriage to Seth as valid and likely felt sorry for their daughter, as if she were the victim of abuse, not a child they both spoiled rotten.’

Seeing Domenico break apart whilst trying to overcome the abuse he suffered as a teen was truly heartbreaking. He’s always been untouchable, formidable and deadly, so to see him falling apart was horrible. But taking down Federico was inevitable and he needed that closure to finally be free. I just hate what it cost him 😢

The one thing I loved most about this book was Dom and Seth’s unshakable devotion to each other. After so much pain and suffering, questioning each other and their love, in this book they are one. They are unbreakable.

‘Dom’s lips crooked, and he lifted Seth’s hand to his lips. “I don’t go back on my word. I chose you. And I will keep choosing you. Always,” he said, brushing his mouth against the rings on Seth’s fingers.
“Fucking sap.”

***

‘He’d hold on to Seth, no matter what happened, because Domenico Acerbi could no longer be without Seth at his side.’

***

‘They’d gone full circle. Domenico had helped Seth through his first kill, and now Seth would help Dom through his last.’

I have to admit that I’m glad there wasn’t the usual amount of violence and devastation. This book really was about tying up loose ends and them finally getting their happy ever after. My god, they’ve earned it!

Do I wish they’d never returned to Sicily? Yes.
Do I wish we got to spend more time with Mark? Yes.
Do I wish there was more of an epilogue and not such an abrupt ending? Yes.
But you know what? I freaking LOVE these characters and this world so damn much and I loved every single second of agony and heartbreak. Dom and Seth are life and I’m devastated to say goodbye 😢💙💙

Perfection

Bittersweet ending to an epic story. Domenico and Seth will always have a place in my heart. While this series may not have been for everyone — for those of us who craved more of these two perfect antiheroes — this is the end these two deserved and fought very hard to earn.

“In the shade of lemon trees, with Seth at his side, and the salty scent of sea in the air, he was home.” — Domenico Acerbi

5 bittersweet, I can't believe it is over stars

Haven is the 11th and final book in the long running and much beloved Guns n’ Boys series by K.A. Merikan. This finale was EVERYTHING I was hoping for! Our boys have finally returned to Sicily and are ready for revenge. But of course, things are never easy for Seth and Dom, and they have to fight for their love and their family with everything they have. This book had a ton of action and drauma. With so much at stake, tempers run high and mistakes are made, but these men can and will do anything to get the HEA they deserve. As expected, the plot is unpredictable and you never know exactly what direction the authors will take you, and that is something I always love about the Merikans. I absolutely loved every second of this book, and every book in this series. I am a bit sad to see it come to an end, but it will always be a favourite of mine and I look forward to hearing it all in audio.

I’ve never read anything like this series, and because of that, this book was bittersweet! I got my HEA with all the blood, tears, pain, angst, love and hot sex that all the fans deserved after living with Seth and Domenico in their hearts and souls for 11 books. But it also ended, and I wasn’t ready to say goodbye… but after 7 years of struggle they deserved it 🤌

Kat and Agnes wrote the most incredible and improbable love story ever and I will never move on! And I don’t want to move on!

I really can’t put in more words what a ride this has been, and the impact that this had in my all consuming book obsession… So I will say I loved it as much as Seth and Dom love each other and who knows will understand 🫶

Let me just add that the writing quality is so good and superior that you get fan service without being cheesy, easy of predictable!

Thank you Barbara for suggesting this and making this emptiness feel so good 😊

“He’d go through any suffering and heartbreak all over again if it meant ending up with Seth in their personal Garden of Eden.”

The end 🖤

PS. So how to move on now? For therapy reasons reread 🫠

I’ve been in a ridiculously bad reading slump lately but you know what’s sure to drag me out? Seth and Domenico.

I have so much to say and I don’t want to devolve into me screaming so let me try to focus on some things:

* Dom - was perfect. He’s always perfect. I love how awful and stubborn he is. He’s always the POV character that makes me laugh the most and his story was so painful here. One of the things I appreciate about the authors is that past actions matter. Seeing Dom face his own demons and watching him evolve over the series into the man we leave behind was so satisfying. I’m gonna miss him and I’d happily read a prequel about his sociopathic early 20’s or a series of him being subjected to various mundane indignities like the unhinged individual he is but like… this is an okay place to say goodbye.
* Seth - it’s so funny to me how aggressively he annoyed me in earlier books. I hated him! I didn’t think he deserved to be a himbo! His growth has been by far the most impressive and I’ve loved the overall journey but this is absolutely Seth at his best. I spent half the story cheering on Seth for various reasons and I’m gonna miss my dumb horny lug.
* Mark (and Griff I guess) - this was my one big complaint unfortunately. Mark barely exists beyond him mooning over his man or babysitting. Like I get it, but I was sad that we didn’t have much in the way of interaction between Mark and his dads at the end of the series. And Griff… he can’t help being boring when he’s surrounded by so many compelling characters but I really still don’t feel anything for him. I wish he was more of a character instead of trope. In another series this wouldn’t bother me, but it feels too cookie cutter for these authors.

The actual plot was surprisingly introspective and heartbreaking. I’m so used to this series being absolutely insane (the fact that I have to specify which wild animal attack I’m talking about for starters) but this had a major focus on trauma. It wasn’t the gore fest revenge story I expected but I’m kind of happy about that.

My only complaint is that stakes were surprisingly low. There were multiple situations that came that would absolutely have been disastrous earlier in the series that were resolved in under a chapter. I don’t really want to see them suffer (I’m still traumatized by Seth’s poor nipples) but I was sort of hoping for things to feel less safe. I already knew that they’d both live - isn’t that safe enough?

All in all I’m satisfied and I really want to go reread the series again while I wait for that Nero/Miguel spin-off.

Ok. I just wanted to give this book five stars because I'm biased before I read one word in this book. I love Dom and Seth. I remember posting my review for another book by them and seeing this comment about Guns n' Boys #1 is full of sex, criminals, and characters with dubious morality on Aug 14, 2014 ( yes, I search for this), which surprisingly happened seven years ago today. I can't believe that I have been on this ride for seven years. It is rare for me to complete a series or not have the series' quality decline after each book. We got 11 books and change, and Dom and Seth are not the same men who left Italy all those years ago.

WARNING :)

There might be a spoiler or two. I have no clue what I'm about to type out. It has been 24 hours since I finished this book. I felt the need to post my initial thoughts. This book hit my kindle at midnight, and I had to practice self-control because I know from past releases that once I started, I never wanted to stop till I was done.

It might just be me, but this felt like the tamest out of all the books staring Dom/Seth. Dom and Seth fought hard together and each other to reach this level of a happy ending. This book was all about closure they only could get in Italy. It was a more emotional journey vs. survivor mode; they were constantly in the previous books. Dom and Seth are returning home and living openly, not like ever before. Unfortunately, they had to go back to cut the last loose thread in their story: The Devil from Italy. I never hated a character so much. This man lurks in the background for so long that he needed to be dealt with to move on. I was shocked and sad about how it all ended. The authors revealed the Devil in this story to be nothing but a genuinely disgusting powerless man. I was most disappointed in this character I never knew, which was Dom's Mother. According to Dom, all we knew about her is that Dom loves her and how wonderful she is. But in this book, she was flesh out more, and I have to think where was she when her son was being abused six ways from Sunday. This person was next level clueless, absolutely materialistic and Dom had no chance.

I am still amazed by Seth's level of compartmentalizing things. He made sure to say his piece but was very forgiving so Dom can achieve his goals. The man only wanted his family and chickens. He had no personal loose ends like Dom. Everyone was dealt with before they head back to Italy. Seth was more solid on who he is and capable of handling it if someone disagrees with it.

Overall, this was a solid conclusion to Seth and Dom's saga. I will miss their banter and passion for one another.

Now on to a few of my favorite quotes from Haven.

“Oh yeah? You no longer put out in a church?” >> if you have been here since the beginning. LOL.

“You seem set on this, but I would advise against openly defying the norms.” “Why? Is murder still the norm?” Seth asked,... This line spoke so much on the growth of Seth.

"And for what you did last month, I expect a very generous gift for Angelica’s Holy Communion.” >> to know what that person did last month and how surreal Dom's response to it.

Side note: I was happy to read Miguel and Nero are still a story we can still explore at an unknown future date.

I Can’t Believe It’s Over…

This is by far one of my all-time favorite series. Guns n’ Boys held be captive from the first book and refused to let go. I love Seth and Dom, their chemistry is palpable, I always end up all hot and bothered when I read their sex scenes, how can I not, they are HOT HOT HOT together!

So many trials, so much betrayal, yet their love persisted through it all. It was an epic love story, I am so incredibly thankful to the authors for sharing their story with us.

I can’t believe it is over, what am I to do now that my boys are done? I am happy that their HEA is finally here, it only took 11 books 😉 but whose counting??

Best series ever!!!

Sicily —— can Domenico & Seth right wrongs?

I adore this series have read every book more than once ..

This is the last in the series which is a shame but all good things come to an end …

All the characters played such a pivotal part so my memories will always be clear .

The writing is wonderful absolutely perfect, when reading I was transported to Italy enjoying the weather, the food also smelling the aroma of fresh blood , the smell of bullets when they penetrate the skin ——

I am 100% happy that Domenico and Seth with their family can enjoy a life together with perhaps leaving a little of the violence behind ..

What a satisfying ending to an amazing series! 11 books and I never got bored once!

Seth & Dom are totally in sync in this one. They make an unstoppable force as a team. I almost missed their stupid over the top fights because they are always so funny (Seth throwing candy bars in the swamp runs on a loop in my mind)

Seth & Dom are my favorite couple ever and I’m so happy to see them living their HEA surrounded by their family 💕

I had this on my tbr forever. Maybe I just didn't want this series to end?
Those boys have earned their HEA very much, but I'm glad this is the last installment, because I'm done.
It was a solid end to this series, but not outstanding. There were little things which started to annoy me a couple of books ago and those weren't getting better here as well.

Maybe I've outgrown this series, but what a ride. Thanks to the authors for creating and such an intense reading experience!
